If I could give it zero stars, I would. We were told there was luggage storage. What it was was a large, unsecured room that looked to be an old dining room and we just had to leave our bags there and pray. Once we were able to check in, we saw how awful the rest of the hotel was. There was large stains all over the carpet throughout the very dark hallways. The room itself was even worse. The window was missing half of the curtain, the floors were dirty. The shower head was broken. There wasn't a single CUP in the room. Even in the \"roach coach\" motels in the US, there has always been a cup. The bedspread had multiple hairs on it. And, it was so loud outside and not once but twice, there were bloodcurdling screams. For the rest of the trip we called this the \"Murder Hotel\". The worst thing of all though is what we paid for it. $257 per night! I realize it was \"surge pricing\" due to the Christmas Market season but this hotel was not anywhere close to the markets and their average rate is about $66. We paid nearly 4 times that for the worst stay anywhere in my life. DO NOT STAY HERE!!!

There was no breakfast available. There are pictures online of the breakfast offered, when? The first morning we had coffee that was available. The 2nd morning the woman charged us 3 euros for a small cup. There was no sign stating this price. The woman wanted names on whom gave us coffee! We stayed 2 nights there. The Christmas market & cathedral are nearby. I wouldn’t stay there again. The staff is mediocre. I noticed a man checking in & he kept ringing the bell for service which took approx 5 mins. When we checked in we had to wait until 3pm maybe 2:15 if available which is understandable, but the baggage hold was not locked up. We placed downstairs near the WC & that place looked like a giant junk room. An elevator is available only to the 4th floor. We had 5th floor and had to take stairs one floor up. The hotel needs some attention. Good thing about hotel is it’s near shopping.

We were given our room on the top floor bedroom. It had no power/lights at all. The caretaker wasn’t around to fix the problem, so the front desk person had to do it himself. It was fixed when we came back. The room was small, the bathroom was dirty. We thought there was breakfast included, but went down in the morning to find out it was free for everyone, but not for us. We would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

Perfect for a low budget stay

Great stay, stayed for 4 nights. Was perfect location for a low budget Christmas market hotel. But still only a ten min walk into town. Room felt dated but beds were comfy and room was cleaned every day. Noticed a lot of dust under the bed on the last day though and bed sheets weren’t changed once whilst there but wouldn’t stop us staying again as front desk were friendly and helpful and we loved the location

You can easily get to all attractions simply by walking along the main road from hotel to hauptbahnhof. Hotel service is better than my expectation. However, do expect there would be some noise if your room located next to the stairs. At this price, I am very satisfied with what I have experienced.

The worst hotel I’ve ever spent a night. The room advertised is different than the one offered, it made my experience in Germany very poor. Very rude Staff, apart from a young girl that tried to help us. Very dirty room, dirty sheets, dirty toilet. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel to anyone.

Thin walls, unprofessional personnel

Rented a single room for one night.

As I arrived to the hotel around 2AM had to wait 20min for check-in even though I was the only client at the reception. At that time I was informed in two-times repeated sentences by the personal that the breakfast would be served till 11am, which I was delighted to hear, considering late arrival at the facility. Room was comfortable enough inside, however at 9am I got woken up from noises from a nearby room, as I could hear almost every word from the neighbours' conversation and loud noises from showering.

Finally at 10:30am went down for the breakfast and was greatly surprised that to discover it was only served till 10am. On top, the morning staff at the reception gave me a blaming look, as if I was to be blamed for the late arrival. Found it rather unprofessional not even to say sorry for their mistake, moreover to act quite the oposite.

Will definitely avoid this facility next time, due to thin walls in the room and high unprofessionalism of the personnel.

we could walk to the Christmas Markets
we could walk to restaurants
great breakfast

The 2 things that we were not pleased about were:
Our room was on 5th floor & the elevator only went to the 4th so
we, two people over 66 years
of age, had to carry two 20 kg bags up 13 stairs!

The other thing that we did not like was the mold in the shower.

Despite these two issues we would definitely stay at the hotel - we would just request a room no higher than the 4th.

It was 34 degree weather and no AC or fan available. Needed to wet a towel and cover myself to be able to sleep. Cold showers. Had bought some chocolates, they all melted in the room. Spoke to reception and they said that they have no fans as they have given all out. They could have gone and get some from a store near by. I was tempted to buy for the room... that’s not my responsibility. Overall terrible stay. Would never stay here again or recommend anyone else to stay. Had to book another hotel as it was unbearable here.

Hotel around a 15 mins walk to the Dom, so pretty close to many. However, the room i received was not what was pictured on the website at all. It was a very old and dated room. However, it was clean and had space for a solo traveller to move around in. The door to our hallway of two room however, closes very loudly, so if someone was coming in late or leaving very early, could be disturbing

Great location of a hotel and friendly staff. Let us drop our bags before check in and on the day of check out (due to a late flight). Breakfast was good and what you would expect. There was little noise from the outside area as well as from within the hotel. Only issue would be the lack of pillows, but aparat from that a comfortable stay and what would be expected in the price of the hotel! Value for money based on the location to the centre!

All bad, but expencive! I wonder how Hotels.com can associate with hotels on such a level. I have had nothing but good experience with you guys, but this is far below you. The style of the room reminded me of Poland 1956. Air conditoning not working and close to 30 degrees Celcius, sleeping night manager who I finally managed to wake up so I could get in, asking me angrily: \" Do you know what time it is?\" Wifi not working and so on... You may understand that I consider not staying there again...

Amazing value for money

Not a fancy hotel but absolutely fine for a few nights, with a fairly spacious room and big en suite. I loved the big windows (though would've appreciated a proper curtain, rather than just a net curtain). Location is great, a ten minute walk from the main station down a big shopping street (so it felt very safe to arrive late at night). Only thing to watch out for is that the rooms aren't soundproofed very well - though with earplugs I didn't find this a problem at all.

Good for bars clubs etc, only issue which isn't the hotels fault was the heat. Was impossible to sleep. Asked if they had any fans they didn't so I had to go and buy one. Maybe they should buy some for the future. Even some UK hotels I've stayed in have fans available.

When I booked the hotel through Expedia . One of the services included was the WI Fi because I need it during my stay for business purposes. Since my arrival the Wi Fi was not working and everyday they were telling us that they will fix it . At the end they made me fill a complaint and promised to reimburse 10% which never happened. I lef the hotel and the interns didn’t work at all . Also there was no phone in the room in case of emergency also I asked for it and promised that they provide one which never happened . Also TV channels are only in German even though the receptionist told that they have BBC in English . They never fixed the TV for me on English Channel . This is a one Star hotel.
I ask for full refund or I will never use Expedia again . I have an insurance with the booking ,
So maybe u can use it to reimburse my money .

For the price and star rating I was expecting basic but I was very pleasantly surprised. The hotel was comfortable and clean, the staff were friendly and helpful, and the breakfast had something for everyone. I would definitely stay here again. Very handy for the Rhine and city centre. Downside was a very poor WiFi connection.

We stayed in this hotel in January 2018. We arrived at 11am and we were able to check in at 2pm but were allowed to leave our bags in the hotel. The staff were friendly and willing to help.
The hotel is very central and it takes less than 2 minutes to get there. There are many shops and places to eat. The cathedral, the Bridge and the cologne triangle are also very close.
The hotel was very nice and clean. The breakfast was also very good and had plenty to choose from. Happy we stayed there and would recommend it

Avoid this hotel if you find stairs a problem - advertised as having a lift it only goes to floor 4, there are another 2 floors which have to be accessed by stairs.

the bed is also a little strange, enclosed within a box, it’s impossible to sleep without banging your arm, knee, ankle leg on the wooden surround

The tv didn’t work either and the staff were totally overwealmed at Sunday breakfast, the buffet constantly ran out of fruit juices and cooked meats

The room was a little small and cramped and the pillows could be fuller. The breakfast was good but the WiFi was terrible as it did not reach the fourth floor properly. Also it was very annoying to have to get a new login and password for the internet everyday and the fact that there was a limit on how much internet I could use. The Tv was fine and the Bathroom was in a good condition although I found that the shower drain got clogged after a long shower and I had to wait for the water to go down. The some staff were friendly but others were somewhat curt and could have been less blunt and hostile. Overall my stay was pleasant enough with no major problems.

We were there for a convention, so we expected the fees would be a little higher. But at $430 per night for a so-so room I felt absolutely skinned! And this was booked months in advance.
One of the front dear staff was friendly and cheerful but the others didn't bother look up unless I spoke to them. Even then they acted annoyed, as though t was bothering them.

The location is good but that's about it.

I booked the hotel on Expedia and specified that I was looking for 2 rooms with double beds. When we arrived at the hotel, the reception guy told us that he has upgraded both of us to triple rooms. What that meant, I found out going to the room, was that the room had 3 single beds. I do not think going from a double bed to 3 single beds is an upgrade...if that were true dorms with 16 beds would go for highest price. You can only sleep on one bed at a time and the single bed was too small. I went to the receptionist guy and he said he did not have anything else. He was unapologetic, in fact rude. He also tried telling me that it does not matter what kind of bed you choose on Expedia etc. Only the room size matters. So basically, this should amount to false advertisement. Expedia was not of much help either when I called them.

Furthermore, the room was dirty. All three beds had many random hairs on them, so it was pretty disgusting. I am not even sure if the sheets were washed. The mattress was also of very cheap quality.

My room was small but adequate for myself, it was on the 3rd floor and had a view, though it was mostly of a construction site next door. The Expedia price I paid was very reasonable for the location.
