The rooms are old but that was to be expected. The pillows and beds were really not good. The other issue was the radiator made constant noise a dripping sound. Then the elevator going yo and down would wake me up as the sound insulation was bad.

And the cherry in the cake was I went down for breakfast thinking it was included the lady didn't tell me I didn't order breakfast half way through taking my 2 baby croissants she told me I didn't order breakfast and I was literally dishing things up so they charged me 25 euro for the most pathetic breakfast ever.

The hotel could be si much better with some minor improvements. Especially as a budget hotel but there were some really annoying things.

Very old hotel, it really needs an upgrade in everything: bathrooms, beds, elevator,… staff wasn’t the friendliest either… and rooms are not made until after a week, so we were there 4 nights and never got fresh towels or anything… the only good thing was the location which is great! I wish I had read more accurate reviews before booking it…

Great location, a lot of dining options in the area and easy access to public transport. The room was clean though the property is a bit old. The key to the room was an actual key chained to a big block, and we only got one copy. All the other hotels typically gave us card keys.

One morning someone we don’t know unlocked and entered our room, and then left. We asked the reception desk who it was (probably cleaning service?) but couldn’t get a clear answer.

Extremely rude staff, room condition is horrible, it had a horrible mold smell, not clean at all, it had no a/c, the bathroom had a lot of broken tiles, there was a light bulb missing, the door didn't close and it had paper towel shoved in the keyhole to cover the opening, and you can hear every car that drives by and it's a very busy street, we barely got any sleep.

Desk staff very friendly and helpful. Unfortunately the toilet was very dirty with poop stains from the previous occupant. Tried to clean it but to no avail. As our flight was delayed and we were very late we just wanted to sleep so didn't alert desk staff. The doors on our corridor were banging whenever another guest exited their room. Cleaning took place in other rooms in our corridor quite early in the morning- so no chance of a lie in.

The bathroom tiles were broken, the entire bathroom was built on a slant so when in the shower you felt like you were falling forward. The toilet seat fell forward while you were on it. Very noisy, no soundproofing at all. Room was small, shower was small. Breakfast was not included and the breakfast was terrible. Went for breakfast at 10 and was told no further food would be made. Eat whats left.. for 18 euro.

The hotel was in a perfect location for the city centre, either to walk or use the U bahn. The room was very clean and the staff super friendly. They also helped us to solve a problem we had with our suitcase which we really appreciated. Thank you! Couldn't recommend the hotel more.

Upon arrival the front desk person clearly had no business being the person greeting people and set a negative tone for our stay. To be fair, the hotel was good. Clean, plenty of towels and hot water. Wifi was good, tv good, bed fine. Good area. The walls snd doors care thin and you will hear everything. It’s in a pretty good location. Pretty much the only reason I wouldn’t recommend or stay there is the staff. Jerks

The room was big and bathroom was a very good size. I loved the bath. The check in was good and they allowed me to leave my suitcase there as i arrived before check in. The two guys at reception were amazing and friendly and helpful. The room had good natural light. The breakfast in the morning was outstanding with a good selection of foods. The shower was good with plenty of hot water and great pressure. The hotel has a nice vibe and feels comfortable. I could see the manager (or head person) checking everything was ok. I would definitely stay again.

On the bright side- the location is good, the room was old fashioned but pleasant, breakfast was fine, the shower was very good. There is a nice coffee shop with good internet next door which is important because the wifi at the hotel was down for the duration of my stay. Do your research about the city before you arrive because the concierge couldn't help with any of my enquiries- Where to find internet? Is there a laundrette near by? When will the wifi be repaired? He simple answered \"I don't know\" to all my questions.

A visit to the Cologne Christmas markets.

We were supposed to stay 3 nights in tis hotel; however, due to a strike on Eurostar, we arrived a day late. I had called the hotel and advised of our late arrival so they were expecting us and there were issues when checking in.

The hotel is located 5 minutes from an S and U-Bahn station which has frequent trains to the HBF and the city centres.

The breakfast at the hotel was good and staff were very helpful.

The rooms were adequate but could be described as tired. Although my room was non-smoking, no doubt there had been people smoking here in the past. a thorough decoration would help with this.

We would stay here again as it is a great base for getting around Germany and Cologne.

The rooms were very small the hotel needs to be refurbished the walls,curtains and carpets were really dirty you couldn't walk on the carpets with you bare feet as they were so dirty and breakfast wasn't up to much didn't cater for English people couldn't even get a cup of English tea. We stayed in Berlin for 3 nights prier to Cologne paid the same price and the room was fantastic more like a one bedroom flat and so clean very disappointed with the room in Cologne for the price we paid.

Yes nice little hotel. Short walk from the central station, aldstadt and even shorter to Hansaring on the s-bahn with regular trains all over the rhineland. Very central, plenty of good bars, cafes, cheap eats and restaurant options around in short distance for every budget. Good cheaper kebab and bratwurst type options (kebabs are great in Germany, much better than in the UK) and some very nice restaurants. I ate a kebab one evening from a kebab place, some asian food the next, some nice German food at a smarter bar restaurant and it was all very nice. Decent breakfast provided and for a single traveller like me was perfect. Yes just stay here its cheap, central, perfectly comfortable and in good working order. The wifi actually works here aswell, which is rare for a budget hotel in Germany (believe me I know).

On the negative I could not get the tv to work, which was a bit annoying when I had some downtime.

It's quite a good location, about 15 minutes to walk to the Dom and rail station, also close to bus stop 12 for the open top bus tour.
The rooms were fine, as was breakfast, and staff helpful and friendly but I've stayed in nicer places for the same price or less.

Asked for extra pillows at the reception. Was told that they would take them to the room. Came back from an evening meal, no pillows in the room. Went to reception to ask again. Was told would bring them to the room any minute. Never did. If you don't have additional pillows, just say, but don't treat your guest like fools.

My wife and I stayed here for a birthday trip away. The hotel is excellently located 10 mins walk from the main railway station, 5 mins walk from a U-bahn station and the surrounding area has all the bars, restaurants and convenience stores one may need.

Our room was spacious and pretty quiet (we were on the top flor at the back), although we could sometimes hear other room occupants due to thin walls. This however is a feature of continental hotels. It was clean and everything worked as it should.

Breakfast was buffet-style and the staff did a very good job of making sure food and drink was topped up as necessary. They also found a space for us on a crowded morning by asking two other guests to move; a nice touch. Overall we were very satisfied, our stay was good value and I would consider staying here again.

Service at the front desk wasn't very professional. Room was pretty run down. Looks like it hasn't been renovated or taken care of properly in a while. Walls are very thin, was able to follow neighbors conversation easily. Also bathroom smelled strongly of mold

There were lots of great things about my stay here. I had a room on the 6th (top) floor and it faced the back, so I had a view of the Cathedral which was wonderful. It was also very quiet. The breakfast was fantastic and the staff were all so nice and helpful. It’s really close to the Hansaring station which is one stop from the Köln HBF. It’s also easy to walk to the Dom and the Altstadt, shopping, museums, etc. The downsides: the room was slightly run down; there were holes in the fabric of the box spring and the chair. The bed was not terribly comfortable. The wifi is okay but I think because I was on the top floor it would cut out sometimes. Not a big deal because you can go to the lobby for a better connection. There is no kettle, ironing board, safe, or fridge in the room. However, the price is right for budget travel so one can’t expect those extras. Overall I enjoyed my stay here.

Hotel close to the main train station and a S-Bahn station. A lot of restaurants and supermarkets near by. Pictures are pretty accurate, so you know what you'll obtain for what you pay. It's an inexpensive hotel so don't expect luxury. Could have better pillows, but staff was attentive and fast to provide more pillows when we requested them. Breakfast basic but OK. Need to improve the WiFi and since I use to travel with teenagers, a faulty WiFi could be a dealbreaker, so don't know if I'd stay again.

Good location, single room was good, fairly clean. You can hire the kettle (if needed). Central train station is 1min.by train. Lanxess arena is 5min.away by train. From airport you can get in 20min.by train. Breakfast for 3star hotel (on an economy side). Staff are very helpful and nice.

A pleasant and happy stay

it’s close proximity to the station is a major plus. My room had a view of the cathedral and looking at it each evening was special. The house keeping staff are lovely and do an excellent job of making the rooms clean and comfy. The staff in other areas again very very friendly and helpful. Breakfast is adequate and as it’s inclusive one really appreciated it. Theres always hot water to shower and for me that’s a must.Walking alone to the hotel I felt safe in this neighbourhood considering it’s the first holiday in Germany and the first since 96’. I fell in love with germany and plannanotber trip later in the year and will make sure that I stay here again subject to availability.

Very pleased with hotel. Close to train station and only ten minute walk to city centre. Plenty of bars,restaurants and shops nearby. Reception staff very helpful and pleasant. Breakfast good. Continental one with different cheeses and hams and salad. Also 3-4 choices of cereal plus yoghurt and fresh fruit to choose from and unlimited supply of juices, water, tea and coffee. Room nice and warm with plenty of hot water.

My room wasn’t cleaned up , when I came back to my room I found it as I left it (undone. ). I spoke to the night receptionist to find someone to clean my room she was very very rude and agressive verbally. In the morning when ready to leave the hotel I bumped into the housekeeper she wasn’t friendly and asked me to hurry up and get out of my room it was only 9,30 Am .I told her to stop being rude she insulted in Polish language. The hotel was good but the service was very bad

Great place for a weekend with the girls.

We stayed here are a group of three, and had a lovely stay. The room may have been a little tired in places but it was still a great place. As a group of three it was nice to be put in the suite room, it meant that we had enough space, and not cramped on top of each other. The room was spotless and the staff were very friendly and helpful, even recommended some great places to experience traditional beer hall. I really can't complain about anything. We would definitely stay again as only a 10 minute walk from the central train station it was in a great location.

A good hotel, clean and comfortable. Set between 2 train stations and easy walk to town centre. The rooms were a good size, beds and pillows comfortable. Daily maid service. The bathroom was clean with fresh towels and handwash and shower gel provided. A TV in the room but no fridge or tea making facilities. A bottle of water and glasses were provided. The breakfast was typical continental with selection of cold meats, cheese, breads, rolls, cereals, condiments, various beverages hot and cold drinks, fresh fruit, yoghurt, boiled eggs. No bar at the hotel but within easy walk from many restaurants and bars.The only thing is that the hotel interior and rooms are quite dated but everywhere was very clean. The reception staff were helpful and friendly.

I usually select my hotels by checking the reviews for breakfast. This hotel was no exception and I was certainly not disappointed - there was a comprehensive range of food and drinks and everything was constantly refilled when necessary. It was an excellent way to start each day.
The hotel was spotlessly clean and the staff were friendly and helpful.
It was also within a minutes walk of a station with trains direct to and from the airport and within easy walking distance of the town centre.

Budget hotel, conveniently located

This is a decent hotel but the quality of the rooms can be improved, especially with regards the bed.
The mattress was creaky and pillows were completely worn out. We booked a double bed but instead were provided with two twin beds next to each other. This was inconvenient and just meant the beds would seperate over course of the night - would just be easier to sleep in seperate twin beds. Staff was great which negated the negative aspects but a good nights sleep makes all the difference the next day.

Free breakfast! Yum 😋

Overall we slept well here and would stay again!

Filthy. Made me feel sick to be there.

White crusty stains on the chairs, handle broke while in room which wasn't repaired when I asked. Beds are old and can feel the springs when laying down. I actually woke up with red marks all over my body from the first night thinking I had something seriously wrong. There is no ventilation. The dust was a huge problem. Breakfast was, to me, useless, even though I was charged 2 breakfasts per night for a solo visitor. They won't reply to my messages to refund or even fix the invoice. Filthy, and criminal if they won't help me with this error. Even so, I will never step one foot near any Centro hotel after this.

Nice staff, excellent location train station is with walking distance, and the tram station for local traveling is just one block away.
