This is a hidden gem...

This hotel is located in a fantastic spot - very close to everything but in a very quiet square. The building is stunning, and the rooms have a great premium feel to them. Staff were exceptionally good at both reception and the bar. We stayed in a large suite on the ground floor, which was very impressive. There's a great restaurant out on the square, too.

Loved this hotel. In a lovely quiet square next to a beautiful church. Very clean and spacious room and comfy bed. The building was stunning and gave it a special feel. Breakfast was delicious and the staff were very friendly. Cologne is a very walkable city and the hotel is only a ten minute walk from the main train station. We'd stay again.

I like this hotel I have stayed here a few times, it is in a quiet location. The staff are all really nice, always happy to help you out with any query and chat when you are in the bar. The rooms are stylish and nice to spend time in as is the main parts of the hotel.

Unfortunately the room given to us was the smallest ever we had in any hotel. On top of it it was under the roof with even less space useable.
Window curtains didnt block light enough of the tiny resulting us waking up when the sun was up.
No lift from level 5 to level 6 or any offer to assist carrying our luggage.
TV stand so low that you couldn't watch it from the only spot possible, the bed.
Nice design features but partly design is limiting functionality.
Nice building but we will never go back.

Elegant, arty, perfect for couples!

Overall we loved the QVEST Hideaway! The impressive facade and entrance lobby were every bit as impressive as the photos. The minimalist look and feel coupled with ‘designer’ furnishings and wall art were also to our taste. The room we stayed in was within our budget and therefore not at the top end, but it was clean and functional. Both my wife and I found the bed slightly uncomfortable for different reasons, but the weather was hot and we were in the eves, so that might have contributed. Our main gripe was that the sink was an angled piece of marble rather than a basin and was therefore impossible to fill. This meant having a decent wash without having to have a full scale shower was tricky. We didn’t use the restaurant during our stay, so I can’t comment. We loved the central, yet secluded location in Gereonskloster behind the Basilica. This was for the most part quiet, though very late on Friday night a small group of youths made it their base to drink and talk loudly. This meant that we had to have the window closed which on a hot night was annoying. This is more of an urban issue than one the Hotel can do anything about, so it didn’t affect our overall impression of the Qvest or its location. As a convenient ‘base’ to explore Cologne centre and the buzzing nighttime areas of Friesenplatz and Rudolfplatz it takes some beating.

Single room

Although I love interior design and appreciated the pieces around the hotel, I believe that interior doesn’t mean uncomfortable or not complying with the basic requirements for a hotels bedroom.
I paid £165 for a single room for one night and the room had no safe, minibar, tv or a wardrobe. Again, I love the wall coat rack you used in that room but your rates should reflect what you actually offer I believe or at least make it clear on the different websites/tour operators.

Comfortable, quirky and arty

About 15 mins walk from station, cathedral and Christmas markets, this place strikes the right balance between being individual and quirky for the sake of it. Quiet for a city centre location, the room was clean (although it wouldn't hurt to touch up the paintwork a little) with some good views from the sixth floor windows. Breakfast was satisfying and well-presented and all the staff I encountered were fluent in English. If you wanted to pop out somewhere close for a drink, there's a corner bar on the main street which seemed popular with the locals but the surrounding district is mostly a business area so there are limited evening options.

Beautiful building shame about the room

This is a beautiful building that has retained and enhanced many of the original features - I can only speak for the room that I stayed in but I would not stay here again based on the room (#521).
1. Artwork - 1 piece, very large and not what I would expect to find (photo of 2 naked women)
2. Blind on window closed from the bottom up and I could not close it completely due to height
3. No clothes storage and hanging rail only accommodated shirts and the like
4. Mini bar selection eclectic and expensive
5. Sink in the bathroom was not really a sink, i.e. a sloping shelf which did not give the ability to have a sink that you could retain water in
6. No door on the shower room so a draught while you are showering
7. No temperature control that I could see apart from the radiator but that seemed to be turned off from what I could see
8. In this day and age no English TV channels other than CNBC that I would find.

Honestly, very disappointed as the building was so beautiful but this is minimal/modern gone wrong in this environment in my opinion.

My wife and I stayed here one night, to spend the afternoon and evening at Neptunbad spa nearby. Once you manage to find this hotel (we were driving) it's a great place. Very comfortable.

Short stay get away.

I was in Koln for a wedding on the weekend. I picked QVEST because it was relatively close to both the city centre and the wedding venue. The staff were incredibly accommodating and welcoming. I needed an iron for the wedding outfit and they helped me straight away.

The study/reading room was a nice touch. Sometimes you want to just stop and read and take time away from travelling. Rather than needing to find that little space in a foreign city it was right there in the hotel.

The room I stayed in could get very warm if all the lights were on. Although the view from my room wasn't great it did let in a lot of natural light which was nice in the mornings. I hate depending on hotel lights to be on for hotel rooms.

The building and architecture is wonderful. Very beautiful interior but the hotel could have done more to capture the beauty of this building.

Check in was quick but nothing more. We were at the highest floor, 6th. We had to take a lift up and climb a flight of stairs. Lucky for us we only had two pieces of luggage. Our room was of decent size, bath tub was outside but we didn't have a problem with that. We didn't like the 2 blankets provided instead of 1. Room had a mini bar but no room service. There are two windows by no curtains to them.. The air conditioning and ventilation gets extremely noisy in the night, I could not get to sleep..

We had breakfast the next morning. They serve a la carte. A small selection but nicely served. We were the only ones in the restaurants.

Parking is along the main road but there was no problems finding space. We took taxis around instead of driving. The front desk was able to call for a taxi for us.

Unique hotel in quiet neighborhood

The Qvest hideaway was perfect for our stay. Besides being beautiful, it was clean and very quiet. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. The hotel is located in a quiet neighborhood, across the courtyard from a beautiful church. It is a 15 minute walk to the Dom and a less than 10 minute walk to the closest subway station. I would recommend this hotel for any traveler to Cologne.

Five star rates without the five star facilities!

Position is great and building exterior is majestic.
Otherwise this is a low cost renovation aspiring to high end design.
There is non of the service expected of a high end hotel. Fit out and furnishing were disappointing, bedside tables wobble and lighting is ill considered. Most disturbing was the water temperature which is pre set and not hot enough.
Staff made a big effort and were very friendly but perhaps not sufficiently trained.

I usually don't write reviews, but this hotel deserves 5 stars. It is a very cool place to stay. Our room was huge, second floor is best. Super clean and quiet. Great art work. The front desk staff went out of their way to help us with information. Fantatic, worth the price.

Schönes Design, wenig Komfort

Leider entsprach unser Aufenthalt in nicht den Erwartungen. Der Aufzug war ausser Betrieb, sodass wir unser Gepäck mühsam in den vierten Stock tragen mussten. Das Zimmer waren zwar schön dekoriert , jedoch unangenehm heiss – der bereitgestellte kleine Ventilator konnte kaum Abhilfe schaffen.
Am nächsten Morgen wurden unsere Fahrräder durch Wäschewagen blockiert. Als ich dies an der Rezeption meldeten, erhielten wir lediglich ein “ahh ok”.

Hotellet ligger centralt, men der er samtidigt stille.
Der er ikke elevator til 6. etage, så man skal tage trappen fra 5. sal til 6. sal.
Der er ikke et særskilt badeværelse, så man bader i samme rum som hvor sengen står.
Højden på bruser hovedet er 1,6 meter, så hvis du er høj bliver det akavet at rage et brusebad.
Personalet er venligt, men er uopmærksomme og der er dårlig stemning personalet imellem.
Spis morgenmad et andet sted, pris og kvalitet hænger ikke sammen.

外観、ロビー、内装はとても素敵です。
しかしシングルルームは途中階から蒸し暑い階段を1階分登る必要があります。
同じく蒸し暑い部屋には少ししか開かない小さな窓が1つ、小さな扇風機のみ…と、夏に過ごすにはつらい環境でした。

シャワーとトイレは別。冷蔵庫、スリッパは部屋にあり。省スペースで考えられた設計です。

中央駅からは徒歩15分ほど、荷物があると少し面倒な距離。
隣が教会で治安に問題はありませんでした。

Nice hotel with short distances

We stayed here for few nights during our longer trip in Europe. The hotel was really well maintained and looked posh.
Room was in excellent condition and only flaw that I saw was the lack of AC. This could make the rooms a little bit too hot on warm summer days.

I do understand that because the hotel is a historical building, installing AC would ruin the excellent looks and the overall experience.

But overall we were really, really satisfied on the experience and can recommend the place!

Schön von außen, Zimmer nichts besonderes

Ehrlich gesagt hatten wir uns mehr \"Ambiente\" versprochen. Von außen sieht das Haus klasse aus, die Lobby ist ein Traum. Doch im düsteren Zimmer mit nur einem kleinen Fenster ist vom Klostercharme leider nichts mehr zu spüren. Da gibt es zum selben Preis viel bessere Hotels in Köln. Auf dem Zimmer haben wir einen Wasserkocher vermisst.

Eine wirklich tolles und schönes Konzept. Die moderne, stilbewusste Einrichtung in Kombination mit dem unglaublichen Flair des Kloster - einfach toll.
Wir haben im Zimmer 206 übernachtet und sind immer noch hin und weg. (absolutes Muss!!!!)

Das gebuchte Zimmer hat unglaublich viel Flair - kaum zu glauben, dass es ein ganz \"normales\" Einzelzimmer ist. Die Bibliothek setzt dem Ganzen noch das i-Tüpfelchen auf. Ich würde jederzeit wieder kommen, nur um dann wieder genau dieses Zimmer zu buchen und es während meines Aufenthaltes kaum zu verlassen.

Mooie lokatie voor een weekend weg of een business trip. Ruime kamer, lekker bed en vriendelijk personeel. Naast een heerlijk Italiaans restaurant!
Tip: vergeet niet je account op de smart tv te verwijderen als je hebt gestreamed. Er waren meer dan 5 mensen voor ons die dat niet hadden gedaan!

Centralt beliggende hotel. Hotellet fungerer som showroom for en online designforretning, hvorfor alle værelser var indrettet individuelt med designermøbler. Desværre var vores værelse MEGET minimalistisk indrettet med kun en seng, et bord og en stol (lignede kantinemøbler), hvorfor eneste opholdssted på værelset var i sengen.
Dejlig seng med luksus sengetøj.
Garderobeplads bestod af en kort bøjlestang, men der manglede skabs- eller hyldeplads.
Det lovede wi-fi på værelset fungerede håbløst langsomt, hvilket receptionisten begrundede med værelsets placering.
Dejligt brusebad men nærmest uanvendelig håndvask (uden dybde).

Ich hatte ein ruhiges Doppelzimmer bestellt und habe ein lautes Einzelzimmer bekommen bei Nachfrage an der reception könnte mir nicht geholfen werden. Darüber hinaus funktionierte die minibar nicht da nicht gekühlt wurde das Zimmer verfügte nicht über eine klimaanlage

Das Qvest hideaway ist ein besonderer Ort.
Es ist eine einzigartige Location sehr zentrale und absolut ruhig. Es hat eine perfekte Lage.
Die Zimmer und das Bad sind sehr stilvoll ausgestattet.
