Room was brilliant! Everything we needed! The hotel was located close enough to the main town, but far enough outside that it wasn't too busy, and was easy to find. Loved the complimentary bottles of water, cola, and apple juice. Bed was huge and comfy! Overall a fab stay! Bit gutted that we couldn't go the the cocktail bar on the top floor as it closes in January, but I guess we'll just have to come back to try it!

The Hotel is situated in an ideal position to walk to the Dom the City Centre and the waterfront (we visited for the Xmas Markets and it was easy to get to all 8), Staff were very courteous and the breakfast was excellent. The room was clean and well appointed but the bathroom was a little tired with a cracked glass top next to the wash basin area and scruffy silicon on the shower cubicle.

When I returned to my room in the evening, I discovered that GBP 1,150 and USD 200 were missing from the in-room safe.

I complained to the reception and they tried to downplay it asking me to wait until the next day with technicians and room service are in. They also kept trying to shift the blame on me asking whether I left it open, or given the code to someone, or if I had a guest over. I then called the police who attended the scene and confirmed there were visible signs of forced entry on the room door.

The reception staff were insisting the only was the safe can be open is with my code or a digital key that would reset the code which was there at the reception protected. I later notice on the safe there is a sticker hiding a physical override key. This key allows access to the safe without the guest’s code and without resetting it. When I mentioned the signs of forced entry to my room, both receptionist and hotel manager said, oh but it could've been from before, as if that was acceptable!

My follow-up messages have gone unanswered.
The lack of security measures on the guest floors (no CCTV), the confirmed forced entry, the safe’s undisclosed physical key access, and the hotel’s poor handling of the situation have left me deeply disappointed and feeling unsafe.
This was organised crime. The thieves I believe from hotel staff, had knowledge that I have cash in the safe, clearly through having access to the physical key.

Das Hotel liegt sehr schön zentral.
Allerdings merkt man den Zimmern schon einen gewissen Renovierungsstau an. Silikonfugen im Bad war zum Teil verschimmelt, Holz abgestoßen oder Oberflächen mit Wasserrändern versehen.

Schön war hingegen, das 2 verschiedene Kopfkissenhärten angeboten wurden und das die Minibar inklusive war.

Das Frühstück war sehr gut und ließ eigentlich keine Wünsche offen.

Was ich sehr schade finde ist, das die Bar Lab 12 nur an 3 tagen in der Woche geöffnet hat.

Da ich gelegentlich in Köln bin, gehört das Pullmann immer zu meiner Auswahl von 3 Hotels, die ich bevorzuge.

Overall, it was very good except wifi signal near room 524 was so weak and not connecting most of time even after the front provided a premium one (connect3), so I had to use my cell phone data most of time to do my work. Hope they can improve it.

Location is great, Neumarkt is just a short walk away. Breiter Str has abundant cafe's, bakeries for a quick morning grab or chill in warm sunlight. Hotel is efficient and quiet. Only downsides were the bathroom which needs slight refurbishment and TV which doesn't have access to digital platforms of our choice.

Points positifs : La chambre était propre et très confortable. La vue était extraordinaire. Les petites boissons offertes dans la chambre étaient très agréable. Le personnel était souriant et accueillant. L'hôtel est très bien placé.

Points négatifs : les portes des chambres voisines claquent et réveillent tard le soir ou tôt le matin.
Des travaux ont eu lieu pour rénover les salles de bains de certaines chambres durant notre séjour et nous n'en avons pas été informés en amont. Les bruits de perceuse et de marteaux étaient très forts et insupportables le matin. J'avais demandé une chambre au calme et j'en ai obtenu une au milieu des travaux. C'est vraiment dommage, cela a un peu gaché notre séjour. Nous aurions certainement reservé ailleurs si nous avions su cela en avance, et ce malgré le confort de la chambre.

What I liked about the proporty was the very professional staff.
From outside not very promising with only glass and steel: However, breakfast quality was four stars; great cake available; good quality of bed; first time I had minibar included in the price, composed of two beer bottles, apple juice organge juice and water. Elevatirs issue

There was a problem with the elevators that iinflunce the total satisfaction from the trip. One day we were so upset that we used the emergency stairs to go down from 9th floor to ground in order to eat brekfest. That issue influebce the total satisfection from the stat in the stay in the hotel

It was disappointing I’m sorry to say. We have stayed at this hotel 7 times in the last 12 months and not once have we had a ‘Welcome back, Mr and Mrs Cromack’.
I think we may have had an upgrade once last stay in May, only to a slightly bigger room. Which was kind thank you.
This time the room smelt of stale smoke so we were moved to another floor, when we arrived in that room the air conditioning didn’t work so were moved again. The final room, air con much better, room did still smell of stale smoke but my husband has an incurable brain tumour and a third room move was too much for both of us. I must say the air con was not brilliant and the fridge didn’t really chill anything very well. The last evening I asked for a glass of ice from the elf restaurant and was told it would cost me €3.50! I stated that fridge wasn’t working brilliantly or the air con at that rate and was given it for free. I am afraid this may be our last stay at Pullman Cologne.

Alle gebotenen Anforderungen wurden erfüllt. Unser Zimmer war sauber und angemessen geräumig. Das Bett komfortabel und das Frühstück sogar richtig gut. Im ganzen Haus fehlt aber Atmosphäre und die Einrichtung war - so könnte man meinen - noch aus den Anfangszeiten des Hotels.

Customer service needs some work. I found somebody's hair on my bed on day one. I told two different reception staff members but nothing happened. My complaint fell on deaf ears. Don't think they were that bothered. Definitely not the quality you expect from Pullman. I gave this hotel a second chance after staying through Carnival but will be looking at other options in the future.

I wouldn't recommend this hotel, especially compared to others of the same rating.

When I arrived one of the bath towels was dirty and the room as a whole felt old and in disrepair. The shower head was constantly dripping, no matter what I tried.
The internet speed was incredibly slow (1-2 Mbps!) even though wifi reception was good, to the point that I couldn't really do anything. It felt like dial-up.
Also, the quality of the towels was very poor, I had white fluff everywhere!
Lower quality than others

The lobby and facilities in general were quite nice though. The fondant au chocolat was great, and the gym equipment was pretty good by hotel standards (treadmills, rowing machine, weights, swiss ball, etc.). The sauna area was also clean and nice, although the sauna itself was a little cold. The hotel staff were also very nice and helpful.

Unfortunately, the quality of the stay is determined by the room experience, and that fell very short.

My family stayed at the Pullman in Cologne. We had several rooms. On the day we were checking out, one of my family members who was staying in a separate room had a medical emergency and needed to go to the hospital. We notified numerous hotel staff and called for an ambulance. This family member had a birthday card with several hundred dollars in it in her room. The card was accidentally left in the room and we did not realize until days later. It was found by hotel staff and instead of giving it to the receptionist to contact us, it was kept by the staff member.

Overall great comfortable stay. Would of been nice to have a bit more storage space such as a bedside drawer and a towel rail, but these are only minor. Slight imperfections around the room, but again minor. Restaurant was quiet but the food was good and quite prompt. Breakfast was also nice with a wide variety. Staff were helpful when needed and were very accommodating with our bags when we went out to explore before check in and after check out. Overall it was great, maybe just add those little touches to the room, it would be excellent. Anyways you can't be mad with the cathedral views from your room!

She didn’t even bother checking if a room was available early. Without saying hello or greeting me, she simply said, 'Check-in time is at 15:00.' The way she treated me was very impolite.

Schimmel im Bad

Das Bad war mit Schimmel belastet. Die Silikonfugen waren Ekelhaft. Silikonfugen sind Wartungsfugen, das hat bei ACCOR wohl noch niemand begriffen. In einem Ibis wäre das schon schlimm genug. Im 4 Sterne s Hotel Pullmann darf das nicht sein. Zwischen feststehenden Teil und der Schiebetür der Dusche war es einfach nur heftig ungepflegt/ ekelig. In den Ecken im Bad und besonders der Dusche war auch beginnender Schimmel.
Im Zimmer ist die Einrichtung in die Jahre gekommen und viele Ecken sind abgestoßen. Die Matratze war sehr gut.
Die Temperatur war im Zimmer schlecht zu regeln. Wir hatten die Heizung ausgestellt und trotz offenem Fenster war es sehr warm. Fotos habe ich nicht gemacht. Schade ist auch das diese Umfrage nicht auf Deutsch ist. Wir hatten das Zimmer 530.

Disappointing Customer Service

The hotel itself is fine. It’s in a great location, not right on top of the busy streets, but close enough that walking to places of interest is easy. The hotel and rooms we found to very clean and spacious, and the hotel has a bar and restaurant. We didn’t use the bar or restaurant during our stay so cannot comment on these.
The staff are what let this hotel down. Apart from one cleaner, Amin, who was kind and so helpful. Going above and beyond to help us in the unfortunate circumstance we found ourselves in during our time in Cologne. We are very grateful to him.
Of course, we can only comment on our own experience, but we found the staff at reception to be rude and dismissive. When you have a problem, you do expect staff at this level of accommodation to at the very least take time to listen to you and try to offer help or advice, but unfortunately they saw fit to be quite rude.
This is such a disappointment and not the experience we had hoped for. The customer service here really needs so work.

We tried to use the sky bar after being out all day but turned away as too busy as people not staying in hotel can use this.
