Stayed in a Superior Room on fifth floor. It’s a little tired and shabby in places, very hot in the room. AC doesn’t run cold in the winter.
The double glazing doesn’t work too well either, so the room is noisy at night.

Sehr spartanische Zimmer, ich hab ein Deluxe zimmer für 300 Euro gebucht aber eher ein Eco plus Ambiente vorgefunden.
Keine Extras, noch nicht mal Hausschlappen oder sonstige Annehmlichkeiten. Die versprochene Geburtstagsüberraschung hat auch gefehlt. Servicepersonal unaufmerksam und nicht wirklich präsent.

The stay was ok. I have stayed in Steigenberger hotels before, but this hotel is not one of their better ones. We didn't find the facilities or staff quite match the expectation that we have of Steigenberger hotels (based on past experience). We parked in the car park, where another car had been broken into and there were people sleeping in the car park, so we were concerned for the safety of our car.

My room was on the 9th floor and spectacular view of the cathedral. The one big issue I had was the air-conditioning didn't cool the room from 24 C degrees and was therefore too hot to sleep. I couldn't open the windows either. I was bummed because this was my second stay at this hotel which is located in the middle of bustling center.

On approach you may be forgiven for thinking you were arriving at a 1960s or 70s tower block hospital, but inside is a world of wonder. The rooms are clean and spacious, with great amenities; the staff were friendly and welcoming; the view from my room was excellent. Cologne isn't doing so well at the moment it seems, but this hotel was an oasis. Would stay again.

Top Lage - das ist aber alles
Hôtel ok, service lässt zu Wünschen übrig; das Zimmermädchen hat z.B. gesehen als es das Zimmer gegenüber gemacht habe wie ich unser Schild umgedreht habe, das Zimmer wurde aber nicht gemacht. Beim Einchecken mussen wir darauf hinweisen dass wir Anrecht auf ein Upgrade haben was dann widerwillig angeboten wurde. Auch die Voucher für ein Gratisgetränk auf das wir auch Anrecht hatten, mussten wir fragen obwohl es gross im Computer stand.

We had only one night, which was - unfortunately - Christmas Eve. This meant that all regular restaurants were closed, including the one of the hotel itself. We ended up eating in a Kebab fast food place. The breakfast buffet of the hotel the next morning was phenomenal.

I had high expectations for this property based on staying at previous properties in Germany and the price point. I was disappointed. It was overpriced, but a lot. The rooms are not that great and they are not soundproof.. Sleeping was terrible both nights. The rolladens didn't work either. No free water in the room either. I expected more for $200/night. I will say the breakfast was the shining star during the stay and why I gave this 3/5 rating.

Would recommend to anyone considering a stay in Cologne. Only niggle I have is that the room AC wouldn’t cool the room no matter the setting, room got a little uncomfortable during the night.

This was a very well located property with nice rooms however, there were no Expedia platinum member benefits offered to us. We had to pay for parking And breakfast there was not even a room upgrade offered even though plenty of upgradable rooms were available. The property just did not see any notes from Expedia asking for upgrades. We are questioning our loyalty to Expedia and its Hotels.com brand because it doesn’t not appear. Loyalty has any benefits.

The hotel was clean and modern. The location is very close to (literally a few seconds walk) the underground and surface trains. There are also a variety of cafes, restaurants, shops (including Rewe which is a supermarket) right outside the hotel. It is approx 20-25 mins leisurely walk totge Koln Dom Cathedral.

Perfect hotel in the center of Cologne
Very good hotel located in the center of the city (at Rudolfplatz). Subway (U Bahn and tram) is just in front of the hotel. Coming from Cologne-Bonn airport was very easy by train (it took 30 minutes with one train change).City center is in the walking distance. Room was very big (we stayed 3 adults) and clean. Kettle and Nespresso machine was in the room. Everything was perfect related to our stay. Thank you for your hospitality.

Really comfortable rooms with excellent shower and plenty of space. Lounge area is relaxing with nice background music. Staff are so friendly and helpful. Will return again soon hopefully.
