From the moment we arrived, this hotel set a new standard for excellence. The staff were present and courteous, anticipating needs before they were ever voiced and making every interaction, even with the language barrier, feel welcoming. The property itself was immaculately clean and refined. Although the hotel has an “old world” feel, it has been beautifully maintained. It gave me a comfortable feeling of being at home while feeling distinctively Tokyo. There may be many luxury hotels in Tokyo with sleek contemporary decor, but this is a very unique old moneyTokyo experience well maintained. Every detail had comfort in mind (one soft and one hard pillow) even without built in USB plugs.(they had multi cables instead). Breakfast is highlight with six venues to choose from. Make sure you get a breakfast included plan. You will not regret it.

The Imperial experience made my short trip to Tokyo a memorable event. The entrance is spectacular with the rose display and, in my case, a beautiful Christmas tree that made it a winter wonderland. As a special treat, a bride stood on the stairs for her personal photos, but made the hotel entrance quite dramatic.

The service and staff were top notch, and what I would expect from a hotel of this caliber. The space felt very regal and fitting of the hotel name. Location was great, close to several subway lines and across the street from the beautiful Hibiya Park. I stayed in the Tower, on a high floor, and the view was lovely, though I was facing the train line so you could hear the train running during the day (not a huge issue since I wasn't in my room much during the day). Bathroom was stocked with lots of toiletries. I do wish there was an iron and ironing board provided in the room (I called down and had one promptly delivered, but I feel like this should just be a standard in every room).
The hotel gym was also really nice. There were plenty of cardio machines, a free weight station and an area for yoga/stretching. I used the hotel laundry service, too, which was pricey but I didn't want to sacrifice time having to find a laundromat / do it on my own.

This is an excellent hotel. A wide variety of affordable restaurants are within easy walking distance in the Ginza neighborhood. We were led to believe that there was a coin-operated laundry onsite, but it turned out to be a laundry service that cost more to wash a pair of socks than to buy a new pair. We decided to stay here to celebrate a wedding anniversary, but it was far pricier than another equally pleasant hotel we enjoyed in Tokyo.

This hotels lives up to its 5-star rating. First, this review is based on our stay in a Tower room. Yes, it will be cheaper considering you have to walk each day over to the main building for breakfast. Yet, if you don't mind the extra steps, it can be a great deal for a 5-star hotel if you get a good price. Even up on the 28th floor, you can hear the bullet train and metro passing most of the day.
