Read some scary reviews on yelp so was a little worried, but had no issues. Check in and out was easy, Room was clean and accommodating. Location is perfect. Dock one star because I was next to some loud neighbors and the walls are a little thin, but otherwise no complaints. Breakfast is grab and go - fruit, muffins, juice and coffee

I never saw where breakfast was supposed to be served, the coffee in the room was terrible. I use Green Mountain at home but it tasted totally different, not sure why.
Maid left an envelope for a tip but my room was never cleaned. Wastebaskets were emptied, but bed wasn't made, towels were not picked up or changed.
I asked for ice at the front desk so I could ice a bad foot. It never came in the 2 hours I waited. Asked again when I got back after a cocktail party, finally arrived a 1/2 hour later.
Room was clean when I arrived and bed was comfortable, but I'd give it an average rating

A very convenient location and a place to rest your head. Not many amenities and breakfast has very little to offer. The 10 minute walk at 6 AM to manhattan bagels is well worth it!

The property is not disabled or family friendly. Only for backpackers. Literally just for people with backpacks, with no luggages, no wheelchair, no strollers. Don't be fooled by elevator note on their property details. Yes there is an elevator, but there ARE stairs at the lobby before you can get to the elevator. They have wheelchair lift but they said it is broken and we did not see them make an effort to fix it nor offer any help for the 3 nights we are in there. The faucet water is a joke. You turn it on just to get cold but the water is super hot, then sometimes super cold even you put it into hot. On the cleaning part, all they do is just change the bedsheets and towels. They don't vacuum or clean at all.

Staff was wonderful and the room was updated and clean. The on-site parking could only fit compact vehicles. If you have a large SUV, van, or truck, you will not fit in their parking garage (6ft clearance) and will need to find parking elsewhere (which can be difficult). Our room did not have a microwave. AM coffee served was terrible and breakfast had very few options, however, restaurants and cafés are close by.

Don't let the fancy name fool you. This is a two story motel, magically lifted from 1960s California, and deposited on Huntington Avenue in Boston. How it has survived here without being turned into a glass tower or yet another part of Northeastern University, god only knows, but now you can stay here.

On the plus sides, the rooms have been redone recently and are pretty nice, and the common space is well maintained. On the down sides, the breakfast is pretty disappointing, the bathrooms are tiny, and it's confusing and chaotic to navigate through the large and sprawling building.

You can probably do better.

My stay was very good. The man behind the desk was awesome. Very pleasant and helpful. One thing that I thought was kinda unusual was the TV set up. One bed had a total view the other bed had half view of the TV. I’d stay again but just not in that room.

Upon checkin we were informed that the air conditioning what not working. It was an extremely warm weekend and were were uncomfortable with night with the window open since there was no screen. The breakfast items did not look fresh, so we decided to eat outside of the hotel. Our room shower was old and when I stepped in it felt like I might fall through the floor.

Went do the Boston Marathon 26 and love the location, walkable distance to the finish line, to the expo, to all the brands stores, malls and restaurants. Rooms are big and comfortable and the area is very quiet even if the hotel is right on the street.

This hotel does not look like much on the outside. But it is hidden gem! Super clean and updated. Friendly staff. Housekeeping is top notch. They provide some pastries, juice and coffee in morning which is hard to find in the city. Highly recommend!

The bathroom in the room is substandard and can not control water temp. The air condition can not be control and it does not work.
Breakfast is horrible.
The overall look of the hotel is more like a motel. The price was extremely high for what i got. I thought because the price i would get a very nice accomodation but i was very wrong.

Checked in April 14th 2026. The weather in Boston was Sunny and 78. Noticed the lobby checking in was very stuffy and hot. Get to the room and it’s no better. Turning the dials and switches on what appeared to be an older climate control system did nothing. No cooling or heat. Called the front desk and they told me to do what I’d already done. I then went to the lobby to inquire and was told that “corporate hasn’t activated the A/C system. Opening the window would be your best bet.” Unacceptable. I asked for number and called the corporate offices. Was told basically what the staff had said. The A/C system “wasn’t turned on yet” because it was April and not “hot enough out yet” to do so. I’ve never heard of such a thing. It wasn’t inoperable, They just wouldn’t turn it on. They offered no compensation nor did the staff in any capacity. Absurd. Hotels.com customer service contacted the property and said the property was willing to give us a refund only if we checked out immediately. No offer to help us find other accommodations. Just check out and take your money. Now I’m with my family in Boston scrambling to find a room at the last minute and there is absolutely nothing. We had no choice but to stay, the climate system never became functional, the temperature in the room was ridiculously warm, we had to keep the small vertical window open to the sounds of sirens and people speaking in the parking lot at 4 o’clock in the morning. It was an absolute nightmare. Ruined the trip.

The rooms were clean, bed was very comfortable and the hotel has recently been refurbished from its recent past life as a college dormitory. All worked as it should. It felt safe. It’s kind of a Byzantine layout between stairs/elevator and hallways, but it’s fine. Only minor complaint is that the walls are thin and I could hear TV and voices throughout the night. Also there is no way to adjust hearing/fan within the room so I couldn’t have the fan drown out sounds.

Room was fantastic. Very spacious. Whole hotel was very clean. Great location for getting around. Public transport stops a few minutes walk either side of the hotel. The only negative was the included breakfast, pre packaged pastries/muffins which weren't great. Fresh would have been better. The hotel explained it as a \"grab and go\" style. All of the staff we encountered were lovely and friendly.

Check-in and check-out were a breeze. The location was wonderful being less than a mile from several Boston institutions like the MFA, BU, NEU, Christian Science, Boston Common and Emerson U. Also close to mass transit. Plenty of outlets in room. Good amount of lighting.
Breakfast wasn't worth it, but several good cafes in the area. Walls were so thin we could easily hear everyone around us. Showerhead was lower than my height (5'8\").

Rooms were nice and staff were friendly. The continental breakfast is just package danishes and coffee. The hotel is older but renovated, I would guess for to age the sound proofing is minimal on a busy street. We overall enjoyed our stay but I think those 3 things should be highlighted.

Never again. Location is great but with a motel 6 vibe. They hold a damage security deposit. I was there for 2 nights, they held $200, then I had to pay for my parking out of the deposit. There was a high intensity halogen light in a parking lot right outside the room I was in and no blackout curtain, so the room was half lit. There was no way to adjust the thermostat and the room was so cold I had to sleep in a hoodie and sweatpants. The phone in the room did not work. When I called using my phone about the heat they said I could not turn up the heat, but they could offer my additional blankets. There was a dog barking in another room and every time someone used the shower on the floor above me there was a very loud bang when the shower was turned off. Buyer beware. Never again for me. I will pay the extra money to stay in a respectable hotel.

This was by far the worst hotel I stayed in, in Boston. The hotel is poorly designed and laid out like a hospital. The rooms are difficult to find and numbered in a strange way. The staff were not helpful. As I was checking out, I waited quite a while to speak to the lady at the front desk, who was on a call and kept me waiting for 20 minutes, at which point I had to leave for work. I had a very basic question for her which I had to leave unanswered. And the breakfast options were absolutely abysmal. This place should get shut down. I don’t understand who liked this place enough to leave 4 star reviews.

Clean, accessible room with a killer view of the Mary Eddy Library and reflecting pool. Very comfortable bed and nice to have steamer, coffee maker and mini fridge. Nice staff. Not the best place to stay with accessibility issues though - you must take stairs (I was in a wheelchair, so very painful), and the garage elevator almost did not fit my normal manual wheelchair. Location is fantastic for the able-bodied.

This was my first time staying at this hotel and it seems like it was recently renovated. The staff were all very nice and helpful. The bed and pillows were comfortable. The decor was modern and pleasing to the eye. I love the blackout curtains in the room which kept the sunlight out, especially when the sun comes out early in the morning. My only complaint was the sound from adjacent room when they turned on the sink. It was VERY noisy. You could hear when someone was showering, but that noise was muffled because the shower is behind a closed door. Since there is no door separating the room from the sink area, when our neighbor turned on the sink, it was extremely loud. Unfortunately, we had a neighbor that had the sink on for a very, very long time. Our room was room 120 if that makes a difference. We think it’s the sink noise that we heard. That’s the only thing that makes sense. Otherwise, everything else was really nice and if I return to Boston, I will definitely be staying at this hotel.

The staff was generally pretty nice but had some issues with our keys not working randomly, them not having spare utensils at breakfast, etc. Not a deal breaker at all but more just frustrating. A great option if you’re out and about all day and just needing somewhere clean and comfy to sleep!

I really liked this hotel and location. My only \"complaint\" would be that there was no way to control the air temperature in the room. I like to sleep a bit cooler and it was hot. No ventilation and only opening the window were options. Also, there were stairs from the lobby to the hall to the elevator which is hard with heavy bags. Hot water seemed to be finicky as well. Very clean rooms, all newly renovated, had a hand steamer for my clothes which worked good, and a spot off the floor to put my suitcase. Could have used a little more sink space.

We were put into a room that had not been cleaned. The bed was a mess, like someone just rolled out of it, towels on the floor, soap open on the sink, smoke detector had tape over it as if to hide smoke.
The front desk lady was very nice. Worked to get us into a clean room. Second rooms faucet didn’t work. So she moved us to another area of the hotel. The third room was clean and she was very apologetic.

Parking was easy and the hotel was spotless. The location is great and very convenient to pretty much anything you would want to do in Boston.

The only negative I had was that after a long day of walking all over Boston, I was excited to take a bath but that wasn't possible. There was no plug in the tub and the handle was broken, so the water never got hot.
