At check in guy was too busy on his phone to acknowledge us. Then couldn’t find the reservation. Kept asking my name as though the spelling would have changed since the first time a gave it. Eventually someone else showed up from break and could it straight away so he said to her you deal with it then.
Room was ok. Even with the heating on full, it didn’t get very warm.

Close to the station and good breakfast (sort of British style). But the safe box was not working. We spoke to the reception and they said there is nothing they can do….

About 5 to 10 mins walk, there are food restaurants. Small supermarket near by.

The staff was terrible--rude and unhelpful. I had to walk 45 minutes in the cold, ice, and snow because when I tried to book a second night at Premier Inn, I didn’t know there was more than one in Koln, and absolutely nobody could fix it, nor did they care. There were obviously many rooms available when I arrived after noon, but the front desk refused to let me check in early. I ended up walking ten miles, which would have been fine an a warm day, but treacherous for an older woman unfamilar with the city. Some compassion would have been welcome but I got only impersonal chatbots and codes.

Checkin was slow but the room was comfy and beds were ace. Some noise from the trains but not enough to worry about. Self service luggage store was a game changer. Really good location for S-Bahn to airport and for the U-Bahn.

Check in was poor. Staff member took a call while checking me in and that call went on a long time. She didn't apologise [Check in 6.30pm Weds 22nd Oct 2025]. She seemed agitated by my being there and in no hurry to help. The worst Premiere Inn check in ever. Bathroom towels are thin and the hand towel was threadbare [I have photos]. The hotel reception is about 4 foot high and not suitable for someone using a wheelchair. Stunning historic building and several lifts from the ground level up. They have a ramp but as I say - you can't check in as reception is too high. Someone who need to come to the other side of counter. Very disappointing in a new hotel in 2025! Breakfast was good.

The room was very spacious and clean. Location is fantastic as the hotel is right next to the overground station. This was a saviour as there was terential rain on the day. Service on the hand, possibly understaffed. The breakfast arrangement was a terrible sight with plates left piled across all the tables. Also I strongly recommend that they place a fragerance in the entrance to the reception as the scent of stale food combined with other ill smelling factors was very unpleasant.

We had a two night stay in Köln Premiere Inn. We had a lovely time and found the hotel to be fine. It is within walking distance of the centre (about 20mins) and there are lots of restaurants near the railway. We drank in the bar one night and played games. It was very pleasant with no problems. We parked in the Saturn car park which is attached to the hotel.

This is a really nice hotel, in a building that is 100 years old this year. The beds are very comfortable, bathroom facilities are good, with a decent shaving mirror. The breakfast was good and was sufficient for me requiring a vegan menu, although would have liked vegan sausages, but the ham and salami substitutes made up for that.
Sadly the area around the hotel has seen better times. The U-bahn station is opposite the hotel’s main entrance and the staircases and elevators stink of urine, and could do with a visit from the Cologne City Cleansing Department.
It is also right next to Hansaring S-bahn Station which has connections to Cologne Hauptbahnhof, and other regional stations in the North Rhine-Westphalia region such as Dusseldorf, Aachen, and Koblenz which we visited using the hotel as a base to sleep and have breakfast.
It is also less than 1 mile away from the Cologne Cathedral, which is a nice walk down quiet back streets.

The hotel was close to the centre, 10min walk. There was also a station right by the hotel if needing transport to the centre station, too. The bar and lounge area was very nice and the room was very clean. The staff on check-in were lovely. One small downfall was the noise of the door at night, you could hear the main door slamming each time someone would enter or exit.

The hotel is located right off the Hansaring Station which is one stop from Cologne Central Station. There is a subway station in front of the hotel as well. It’s also walkable to all attractions if you prefer to walk around. The staff is friendly, and the room is clean and spacious. Need a card to access the floor and the room that makes us feel safe. We will stay here again.

Short city break for two

Very large and comfortable room with good clean facilities. There was no coffe maker or kettle though which seemed a bit odd for a 4-star hotel. Nevertheless, the locarion was great with just a short walk into the city centre and next to a S-bahn station, just one stop from the main railway station.

Booked two Superior Double Room for six nights, one of the room was not supplied with kettle, tea and coffee. Asked the reception, they said they have upgraded us for one of the rooms which provided kettle, tea and coffee. So the result was I paid that much money for Superior Double room with no kettle provision. For the TV, most of the channels did not have signal and cannot be watched.
On the third day, the housekeeper did not top up coffee and tea, went down to ask the reception and they said they will get us some in a minutes. I waited all night and it did not happen. I was not impressed with this hotel.
There is no lobby next the reception area, only a reception desk. To me, it does not look like a 4 star hotel.

The property was clean, the rooms were large, the staff was mostly nice. We couldn’t get a family room so they gave us two rooms next to each other. Unfortunately the rooms were right beside the train tracks, train’s actually made things rattle in our room. With the windows closed the sounds was reduced significantly but we still needed earplugs.

I’m sure the staff would have moved us if we had requested, but we were already settled so one more night didn’t justify packing up again.

Lots of bakery’s nearby for breakfast. We didn’t sample the breakfast at the hotel, but I’m sure it was very good.

Great place…wish we stayed longer.

This hotel is elegant and spacious. We are a family of four with one dog. The one night stay was absolutely amazing, which led to the regret that we didn’t stay longer. The hotel is in a decent area with all the amenities you could need. Breakfast was a classic German breakfast, but with a myriad of options. Parking was typical, the dog fee was cheap in comparison to other hotels. Close to public transportation and only a 16 minute walk to the Dom.

The rooms are very nice and spacious, breakfast was fabulous, the first room assigned was next to the parking and train tracks so it was very noisy but the next day we were moved to a top room very quiet and with great view, I was double charged for our bedroom however a helpful member of staff soon corrected the issue and ordered a refund.

Disappointment at the Azimut Hotel, Cologne

Disappointingly this hotel seems stuck in a 1970's decor warp in its entirety. I was particularly disappointed in the ambiance of the room, albeit very large in proportion, there was literally a 1.5 metre external wall blocking the external window view from our room on the 4th floor. When I asked the receptionist to change us to another, less obtrusive view he explained that all the rooms were of similar design, which on later enquiry proved not to be true. Only the 5th floor has this external design feature, of this protected building dating to the early 1900's.

The room was large but somewhat spare. I was on the top floor. It was very clean except a hard to see shelf area behind the toilet. The lobby is unimpressive. Ibis lobbies, especially those that have been renovated recently, are much more inviting. The area is fine but not very interesting. Location beside train can be loud, but it is very convenient to the S-bahn station Hansaring.

Fantastic hotek

Five night stay for us as a group of 7 and we were very happy. Rooms were a great size, one of us was lucky enough to get a cathedral view as a bonus. The sauna and gym were also great bonuses. Location was fine, not far from the train station or river which was ideal for us with a few day trips involved. Staff were friendly, helpful & accommodating. We didn't include breakfast, but there were a couple of bakeries nearby which were a great substitute

Hotel in great restaurant district, and situated adjacent to Hansaring S Bahn station (which also has U Bahn platforms)....the first one out of Cologne's big city centre main train staion. A really easy walk to the cathedral and city centre. Generous rooms that are clean and comfortable - and a great buffet breakfast is available. On this occasion.....our third stay here the location proved great to visit Cologne's Christmas markets....staff organised taxi for us to get our luggage to the main station for London train via Brussels on way home. You can take more luggage than one person could carry if travelling by train at no extra cost.

We were surprised at the quality of the hotel (in a good way!) with an excellent sized room, commodious bathroom and an easy chair (rare in my experience). Great breakfasts which we used to load up with to see us over lunch time. Individual duvets and a huge bed: not good for honeymoon couples. Towels clean and seemed new. Parking convenient but tricky to navigate. Absolutely amazing value for the price; we've stayed in a lot worse and paid a lot more. One train stop to the centre or 40 minutes by foot, good local bars and restaurants, especially if you like Turkish cakes. Wi-fi very clunky and slow to access.

Very busy area. Hard to find parking

The location is very crowded. It is next to rail station and subways, so it is better to not bring a car. The parking lot is very cramped and poorly designed. You have to leave room key in special slot by the door for the lights to come on. The A/C does not work well, so you need to leave window open and have lots of street noise. For one night it was tolerable.

I took my husband to Koln for his birthday and stayed at Azimut as we had stayed before. Unfortunately they only had twin rooms left and I expected something small and pokey. Wrong. It was huge and on a corner with windows on the two corner sides. The receptionist extremely helpful when asked where there was a good place to eat as I couldn't walk very far. He directed us to a pub around the corner, turns out we could see it from our room it was that close. We had the best schnitzel ever there and the pub landlord was very friendly. Beds were extremely comfortable and we had the best sleep for a long time. Would recommend this hotel to anyone.

I ordered a room with breakfast, but it took along time at the hotel to persuade them that it is like this. I stayed more than one night and bathroom amenities were never refilled. WiFi is limited to 600 Mb/day and you have to log in every time you want to use it (it is not convenient).

The hotel is not in a very good location in the neighbourhood is a bit shabby at night. We asked for adjoining rooms were told we got adjoining rooms but then we got up they were not adjoining. The bar is really overpriced for drinks and the drinks are very small. The breakfast cost 15 Euro per person per morning so we did not eat at the restaurant. However the rooms were very nice and the staff was excellent. Also made service was sporadic with one person showing up at 5 PM in one night and then another person showing up at 10 AM and another person showing up at 10:20 so that was a little bit weird. Overall check out closer hotels to the Dom.

Stayed here to visit Christmas markets. Convenient location within easy walking distance of cathedral. On major road with few shops and restaurants in immediate environs. Also close to railway lines which our room overlooked but noise was not intrusive. Large rooms, nicely furnished. Duvets on beds quite small even for a short person like me. Good breakfast, English and Continental, although a bit on the expensive side. Disappointing that you have to pay for parking. Nice bar, but not open Sunday evening. Only small number of German channels on TV.

Near a metro station. About a 10 min walk from the TRAIN station. No robe or slippers as advertised and view of The Dom Cathedral from 5th floor is \"peek a boo.\" On the plus side, the room was very large and the air conditioner actually cooled a bit (unlike a few previous places in Europe). Breakfast buffet was by far the best throughout our 2 week trip! Front desk held our luggage after checkout until our departure later in the day.
