The location was perfect. The guy at reception was great. Wifi was bad. The bed and pillows needed updating. It was hard and uncomfortable. Could be a great place if it had a makeover and the grounds had a bit of a tidy up. The other villas might’ve been different. The pool area and surrounds looked nice. Would’ve expected a little more for the price. They need to put a folder in the place that gives you basic information like you would get anywhere else.

Philip on reception was great. House was fine, quite basic and smelled a little musty. Had everything I needed though. Kitchen kitted out and a hot powerful shower. Bit of a pain to get taxis to and from coast area every day so factor that into cost comparison.

Words can not comprehend how low this joint was iv stayed in better backpackers.
Claims it’s a resort …. This is horribly wrong on so many levels.
This is a Motel not a resort !!!!
Overpriced absolute dive NEVER AGAIN.
The bed could have been a rock as iv slept on better floors.
I think iv said enough that other don’t fall into this trap!!!

Royal Woods was a perfect spot if you want to slightly further away from the busy tourist strip. Very clean with full cooking facilities suited our needs really well to relax for a few days whilst travelling up north.

The resort is lovely, old but nice.
Checkin took way to long but got there in the end. 1 bedroom spa room with balcony. On arrival no balcony, ground floor. Had washing machine and dryer in garage but no power to them, and couldn’t find the fuse box. Black ants going up the wall and into the ceiling. Spa in ensuite lovely but no exhaust fan.
Breakfast was left in room- a lovely touch.
This resort would be an ideal meeting place for large families to holiday and catch up.
Massive pools, lap pool, proper steam room amazing. Young children’s pool aswell

he pictures shown on the site are not current and the furniture is looking dated. The gated community is good for security and children and the units are more holiday home style with an adjoining door to turn a 1 bedroom into a larger house basically with 2 entrances. Needs a freshen up on paint etc to make it more appealing. Not really suited to an overnight stay that I did, but more family orientated with a mix of rentals and permanent residents. Never got to the pools or amenities so cannot comment. Staff were friendly and helpful.

I really like the spacious layout and the cleaniness of the rooms. The kitchen was great for my little gathering for the family. Slept really well as it was so quiet and had peaceful surroundings. Only thing was the garden area and outside areas need attention.

First impressions four star. After settling into the villa, we discovered no exhaust fan in kitchen or bathroom, rooms were dark and the lighting inadequate. Indoor pool too cold and spa not much better. Wi fi hard to connect and slow. Location was good and area quiet. Value for money was passible. Staff excellent.

Happy with our stay. The property is secure, although our buzzer never worked properly, so getting into the property gates was a trail.
The rooms look like mini villas which is nice. Lots of plants and greenery around adds to the peaceful relaxed feel of the property. The staff are pleasent and attentive. I didnt use any facilities so cannot comment. The room is spacious and well laid out. The beds are firm and the pillows even more so. They do have a pillow menu so i cant complain about my hesitation to get the hard pillow replaced. The decor isnt royal, It is like that on a cruise ship, it has a regal feel, but the finishes are cheap and dated. The toiletires were there, though i didnt need them. The bathroom was also very spacious. The shower was Large, but the head was small. There is a large Fridge/freezer, microwave, griller and hot plates. You could easily do some home cooking. There was also a washing machine and dryer in the garage. The garage is a double, and belongs to just those in your Unit. The negetive of the property is purely that this property and our room was pitched to be royal and it just not. The lounges were so used and hard. The carpet was stained and rough. The tiles were cracked and the grout all stained. Redundant soap holder and random screw holes in the walls. Cabinetry is cheap. Its more like your standrard chain motel interior, but in a larger room. If it was marketed as this instead of royal, i would be more satifisfied.

The staff were friendly and helpful, but the place was tired with numerous small repairs needed to our property. The heated pool had lots of undissolved salt in it, making the floor gritty. Tiles in the heated pool had some rust stains and needed repairs. No tv in the master suite. We enjoyed the stay.

Staff are amazing and friendly and the property is very well maintained.

The pools are fantastic after a hard day.

The villas are old school Gold Coast which adds to the charm, they are very clean and full stocked with all essentials you may needs.

I felt that the unit was not very clean - Bedroom floor was terrible. Staff were nice enough. I needed a late check out - said they couldn't do it as they needed the room, but when I said I needed it - they said I would have to purchase another night. Amazing how they can change things around when I am paying for it, but a 1pm late check out could not be organised. Not good value for money!

Close enough to Metricon Stadium to walk to.

I was tired and didn't want to drive back to Brisbane after the Collingwood V Suns game. So on the morning of the game I booked this accommodation. I was very happy there was something available still so close to the stadium.

I was very happy that it was a nice easy walk to the ground. No hassle with parking.

It was clean, and very suitable.

Uncomfortable stay in a shabby place!

We had read the reviews and knew that the place had old decor, but for I night the location and the pool looked good.
We stayed in unit 24. Where do I begin? The front entrance was covered in old leaves and bits of paper with a tattered old entry mat. The furniture is ancient. I refused to ever sit on any of it.
The bedroom twin set both had dust ruffles that were torn badly ( but someone had knotted them to disguise the worst of the ancient box springs) The carpet is as old as everything else. The walls are filthy.
This place is the shabbiest place we stayed in the last 5 weeks touring New Zealand and Australia.
There was one family at the pool, but no other guests were ever visible. The location was once someone’s dream property, but a lot of money will have to be put into it to bring it up to any sort of standard that should be rented for money. My feeling about this place was Yuck!

Weekend get-away watching the PGA golf. Hotel was within walking distance to Royal Pines Golf Course. Location was very convenient to resturants, cafes, shopping centres etc. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Rooms were very spacious but a little dated. The place was a bit out of the way and appears to be a once residential housing estate that now has properties that use in a resort way.
I had a one bedroom unit which was just a few houses down from receiption fortunately as I had to go to see them there a few times that night.
The place was clean and comfortable and looked nice however the decor was old and tired looking and the curtains were faded when drawn shut for the night.The tiles around the shower could do with an upgrade and it leaked a bit.
On arrival I was shown to to my unit and then the garage door wouldn't work. Then my friend discovered there was no toilet roll, which the attended went and got one. Later I discovered the kettle wouldn't work and there was no plug for the bath. So off up to the reception to change the kettle and get a plug .Then back to the unit to discover the kettle still didn't work whereby I discovered none of the sockets where working. So off to recieption again to let them know. They did apologise and the fuse which was the culprit was rectified and big apology was made by staff.The rest of the evening went ok apart from running out of tissues and discovering no washing up liquid for dishes.Now whilst this may sound all a bit trivial for some, to me it was a dissapointment. All I wanted to do was relax and destress as we do when we go away. Staff were great but better checking of the units before being given to guests would have made my stay more enjoyable.

Very nice place, quiet and serene. Loved the layout of the pool and the waterfall cascading at the back. Didn't get a chance to test the pool, spas or other inclusions, because of time and weather, but hopefully will get back there and will recommend to others.

Sadly the security guard dresses in a dark hoody walked across our patio and freaked out my wife. As he didn't have any ID logo or any uniform that matched a security service it pretty well ruined our night.talking with the manager revealed it was night security and they were very helpful explaining and checking video surveillance

The room was so tired, lots of damage on walls, cupboards, bathrooms. Hard to tell if it was clean but hair on wall in bathroom suggests not. Worst part was carpet that notably had a good section missing exposing the gripper rods to my 2 year old. Only offered partial refund. Disappointed

When we arrived the gates were daunting however they came to be part of the charm. The hotel staff were lovely and efficient. The room was large, clean and unique, more like a suite and the fact that it had its own garage was a big bonus in inclement weather. Overall we enjoyed our stay.

Night away

My husband and I had a night away which is a rarity. We chose the Royal Wood Resort because it was close to where we wanted to stay, the facilities and the cost. Unfortunately we could only stay one night but would happily stay longer and plan to come back. It was very clean and the staff were helpful. Only comment was that the bed wasn't very comfortable and my husband and I woke with sore backs the next morning.

The hotel is like Fort Knox with big Gates 24 hour

The first confronting thing about this hotel is this massive gates that lock you in 24 hours it's even hard to get into check in for reception within business hours we had a very poor experience. With no hot water for the first night once we made a complaint the hotel just flick the fuse which I had already done never came and talked to me and left site without me having hot water. The next morning we will woken up at 7 a.m. with them doing heavy machinery digging a hole in front of my room at 7 a.m. in the morning no apology really disgusting the way they treat their guests.

The aircon in the room filter hadn't been cleaned in a long time ,

This hotel was clean and tidy, the staff were pleasant, unfortunately the hotel wasl not near a shop so if you did not have a car you had to rely on others for transport or a taxi. The grounds were well kept. A pity the swimming pool was not in operation because of re. Structure.
