Good central location, although it can be noisy on Friday/Saturday nights due to a bar close-by and loud cars. The apartment had nice view of the hinterland but was quite outdated. Would have been nice to have the beds made up in the living room upon arrival as opposed to us having to do this. Cleanliness was also average. Size of the apartment was good. All and all it was ok.

Easy to get by to shops, lovely staff, beautiful spa at roof top.

Walked to the beach. Big space and comfortable room for families. Great price for a 3 nights stay. My kids enjoyed their stay.

Service at reception on arrivial was unpleasant, don't know whether he was having a bad day but very dismissive, room was outdated, front door would not close properly, as though it had been jimmyed a few times!!! sat down on double bed & just about went through it, very uncomfortable sleep, scratching most of the night, found flea on sofa bed as i was making it for my daughter!! Only good thing was its hop skip & jump to Cavill Ave, Would not be coming back here

Amazing customer service and the location is fantastic - right near HOPO ferry dock, bus stops and within a few minutes walk to the tram stop, supermarkets, beach, main strip of Surfers Paradise is 5 minutes walk away. Restaurant next to the hotel was great as well.
Check in was very easy, every question was answered and they made every effort to make us feel welcome.
The hotel itself is in need of cosmetic repairs and some TLC. The rooms are very big (family of 5 were very comfortable in one of their 1 bedroom suites). I'm a stickler for our hotel room being clean, unfortunately the cleaners hadn\"t cleaned out/vaccuumed under the couch cushions so that was a not gross for me - everything else was very clean though. If I was really nit picking, I'd also say I wish their toilet paper was nice - teenagers complained!
Beds are comfortable with plenty of spare bedding, extra towels on request and the suite was stocked with a clothes airer, ironing board and iron, TVs in both the living area and bedroom, aircon and ceiling fans in each room of the suite.
We had an issue with the first room we were provided (we were unable to use one of the beds due to a problem with it - they were not aware of), as soon as we showed them the issue, they immediately provided us with a new room, apologised for the inconvenience and also replaced the bed the following day.

Just had to get a door stopper. Door chain broken. Only key door lock. Room door doesn’t look secured. Receptionist said maintenance have gone home and it will be fixed the next day. Girl said camera are all over the property.

My experience was below average. Mainly because I couldn’t use kitchen much which I really needed to due to my dietary restrictions. Kitchen had water leakage issue that restricted me to use it. Though hotel staff helped me providing extra towels to soak the water but that didn’t helped much and I ended up not using kitchen at all.
Also there were lot of noise due to some machine or something similar. Noise was too loud. I think this should have been mentioned in the room description.
Otherwise location is quite good.

Everything was AWFUL! From service at reception, to cleanliness and stench of the apartment, to not having 2 TV’s work during our entire stay (even though we asked twice for them to be fixed), to the noise of the traffic (apartment is not well insulated) to housekeeping leaving bags of dirty linen near our door. The only good thing was the view of the river, but you can enjoy that from many other hotels in the area. Cross this hotel off your list if you want to have a great holiday up at Gold Coast.

We’ve stayed here before and already had an idea what to expect. The rooms are good size with a kitchen. The hotel is run down but we don’t mind it given the location and parking. The cost of the rooms is a good price for a family staying on the Gold Coast. It’s not five stars but a good three stars given the age of the property. We plan to stay here again if it’s still standing

Where can I start got into the room took my sons and my shoes off walks on the carpet for no more then 10 mins and our feet where that black look like we had walk down cavil ave barefoot all morning. Every single lock in the room didn’t work, then moved our mattress to grab something I had dropped and found what was certainly some sort of sex toy that had been broken into serval pieces just sitting there

The property is old but has a long history in surfer paradise which help to understand the building. I had an issue early on and they solved it very efficiently and provide us with alternatives. the hotel is truly well located i didn’t hear much noise and was so easy to access everything. I travel with teenagers and they love being able to have everything within reach. The beds were comfortable and the room has an increasingly view. The young french lady at the reception was fantastic and made our stay enjoyable.

The maintenance in the main bedroom. The door jamb had several screws holding it in. The wood and wall had splits in it from the amount of screws they put in. The tvs didnt work properly. There was no fan in the bathroom and no window. No ventilation what so ever. Very limited kitchen amenities.

Great kitchen/ammenities, pool was good, great access to everything. Park right next door on the water for the kids and another across the road next to Woolies. It was a little out dated and our 1 year old split her head on the tiled stairs that were inside the apartment less than 5 minutes after arriving. This obviously isn’t tikis fault but there weren’t tiled stairs in the listing photo either. There was also a lot for kids to get into. Glass bowls, big kitchen knives etc were all accessible for our 1 year old..

Stayed here many many times and this was the very first time I’ve had to produce $205 on my card, especially if woman are comig there due to DV situations. The receptionist (new girl) was rude and I’ve never in all my years as a local on the Gold Coast, ever experienced that from Toki Hotel Team. Disappointed.

Rooms are extremely dated, broken tiles, old sagging bed in bedroom. Fold out bed was revolting, sagging, stained and old, my son slept on top of the lounge. Leaking toilet cistern, and generally a noisy location, but great access to Cavil and river. Otherwise the unit was cleaned well, front desk staff were lovely and helpful. Booking process and communication good.

Pros: good location. Price is affordable compare to some apartments nearby. If you just need a place to sleep, it is still acceptable choice.

Cons: the hotel is a bit of old. Room quality is around 3 star.

Paid secured Parking maybe not enough if many quests check in. We have to park outside 1 night after 2200 as the car park is full.

Good location, but building/room are in need of a good touch-up. I felt the place wasn't really that well looked after.

Spa was dirty and we decided not to turn it on.
Reception, hallways, lifts all in need of some work.

Daily rates were expensive and overall I don't think the hotel offers good value for money.

Quite noisy overnight with people walking on the road. Acoustic in the room was not that good.

Unfortunately we as a family had a terrible holiday at tiki hotel.
The rooms are very outdated, not very clean, falling apart.
The pool and spa weren't clean either. It's such a shame tiki hotel is situated in a awesome spot in the gold coast all to be left in a poor upkeep state.
On our arrival the lady on the desk doesn't even acknowledge us and was very rude.
Personally I believe it needs new management and start fresh.

Do not stay here! This hotel is so over priced for what I paid for one night. The mattress on the bed is so old, when I sat on it, it left a permanent dent. Unbelievably noisy as the address states one road but it’s actually on the corner of the Gold Coast highway so impossible to have a window open at night for fresh air. The windows were dirty, mirrors dirty, the place is just old and should be renovated or knocked down. Had very little sleep and just got up very early and left. Surfers paradise is a dump, many nicer places on the GC than this area.

We spent two night here reception was good but the room was very rundown fans were very dirty the dishwasher filter was extremely dirty only had a hand full of tv receptions. The stairs going down to the main area was not yellow tapped so made it hard to navigate down. There also was panels coming off the walls. The noise from around the hotel was extremely loud. Also the it states on information that you can get towels from reception for pool use but when asked they said no use what’s in your room.

Pros:

The property is good. Reasonably priced, well cleaned, has a car park underneath (for a reasonable fee), has two lifts, the rooms are spacious, the staff (reception, manager, and housekeepers) are amazingly nice and helpful.

The view from the room (of the river) through the wall to wall windows is outstanding.

Cons:

The hotel is unmanned at night, which is OK, I don’t expect a room service or housekeeping, however, during one night there was a very loud bunch of guests on our floor who were yelling, screaming, partying, slamming doors well into 3 AM. I called the after hours line around midnight, then again around 3 AM, then around 7 AM the security came and banged at their doors to evict them, but I had a whole sleepless night by that point.

On some other nights some lesser inconveniences happened, so my problem with not having any staff on duty at night is that this attracts people who know they can be loud and may not face consequences for it.

The room we got (two queen bed apartment) has only one split air conditioning unit in the kitchen and living room, the rest (the main bedroom with two queen beds) had only a ceiling fan, which is OK given we were in the winter, but we would have been stewing and marinating in my own sweat if it was summer.

The wall to wall windows in the room are nice, but sadly are not safe for little children, they have no rails behind them so a child could easily fall against a window and fall through if the glass breaks.

Was highly disappointed in the state of the room obviously the cleaners to do there job properly. There was blood on pillowcases, blood on sheet under the mattress, ladies dirty underwear in a freezer bag pushed down between the mattress and pillow and no rubbish bin in the kitchen and a wine glass had a big crack down the side.

Have stayed here before years ago was ok then, tho obviously no money has been spent to upgrade, kids bed was terrible, should not even pass as a bed! Not enough pillows or blankets in room for guests paid for!! Dodgy couch with a 100mm gap half way between just crap! previous guests food and lollies were on the floor and over the room makes you think wasn’t cleaned properly, third day my daughters perfume went missing after room being serviced. Dodgy windows stopped half way with tech screws obviously to meet some standards of opening too far open just done dodgy. Reported the theft of the perfume tho obviously nothing done about it. Def will not stay here again. Suggest the same

The apartment was badly in need of a renovation. The property is advertised as having cable channels, but only if you have a Foxtel account, so we had to visit local pubs on Cavill Avenue to watch live NRL games which was most disappointing. We had to pay $15 a night for parking also. The two good things about the property is the location close to Cavill Avenue and the Nerang River views. I won’t be staying there again.

Place is a bit run down but has charm.

Only weird thing about our 2 bedroom apartment was the light for the shower was IN the second bedroom and lit up the bathroom through a window…
So when my friend turned on the bathroom light in the middle of the night, it literally turns on in the bedroom!!
Didn’t bother us, she just showered with the light off. But a wild (kinda hilarious tbh) design flaw that I literally can’t imagine what they were thinking when they installed it!

Also keep in mind it’s at the end of Cavill Ave. it’s noisy, and that should be expected. If you want a quiet location, you might want to be further away from the action.
Didn’t bother us though. Would definitely stay again!

We enjoyed the roof top spa - great view. The pool slide wasn't working when we arrived, so that was a bit disappointing for the kids, but I believe this was fixed - we just didn't get another opportunity to sit by the pool due to other commitments. Parts of the room didn't offer full privacy i.e. windows into main bedroom and slatted door to shower area. However, overall it was fine and staff were helpful when we needed anything.
I had to follow up the return of the deposit as this wasn't automatic. I was advised I would receive a call to arrange the return following check out. This didn't happen and I had to follow up.
Overall, we had a good stay at the Tiki Hotel and would consider returning here again. Location was good for us.
