Couldn't have loved it anymore. The staff were so lo ely and helpful. The only fault we could find was they didnt have biscuits for our coffee and sone idiot had smashed glass in the pool so it wasnt open. Other than that we will be back again. lplthere

I had the most amazing experience. Besides staying in a great beautiful ocean view room, when I needed urgent documents to be printed and resent to my email the girl at the front desk was so accommodating. She even sourced a business for me which was close by (and thankfully open on New Years Eve) to get some more work done. The service was simply impeccable and was very greatful for all their assistance as they certainly didn’t hesitate to go above and beyond for me.

The rooms are great and good value for money. A bit older style but it was comfy and had a fantastic view. After hours check in was simple. I’m also not a fan of lifts but theirs are smooth and stress free! Would definitely stay here again.

Quite good and very bad. Common areas are great, room in desperate need of repair and renovation. View was good. Location is great. Bathroom was terrible - filthy tiles, centre piece of shower screen missing, no soap tray or even towel rails, cheap (and old) fittings. Bed was nice. Carpet was poor. Tv and lounge jammed into a corner where neither fit. And having to pay extra for car parking, which I was only advised AFTER paying the non-refundable room fee borders on false and misleading advertising. I have photos of everything - don’t seem to be able to add them to this review

Overpriced.

Location is good but this is a place that is very run down. They even have posters near lifts showing the vision of the to be refurbished pool area. I’d start with the rooms. Outdated, beds are lumpy, bathrooms are very out of date. You should be given a prize if you successfully navigate your way to your room for an early evening check in. No staff at night or in the morning. Way over priced for what it is. Location is convenient but noisy - Street noise at night and early morning.

Fine aside from the potentially dangerous flooring to the kitchen area that’s almost an inch higher than the rest of the floor. I ended up putting the sign for the wifi code on the floor so I’d look down at every time after tripping nearly 20 times on the first afternoon and falling twice

The stay was ok but the the bedrooms are next to the next rooms balcony, we had people in the next room on there balcony talking and having a party at 3am we couldn’t sleep and had to get up early the next day, it was so annoying and it’s all because of the way the hotel has put there rooms right next the balcony for the next room very disappointed in that didn’t have enough sleep.

When's the resident showing up?

When I opened the door to the room, a television was blaring on full blast which frightened me as a solo female traveller. I found the remote and turned it off, and started looking around to see if I was actually alone. It really freaked me out. I went to the bathroom/laundry and it was just gross. The shower and tub felt like someone was presently living there, fresh mildew and funk. I couldn't make the fan sound stop, so there was no chance of relaxing on that alone. The bedroom felt like a roadside motel. I couldn't even fathom putting my things down on it because I was honestly afraid something would come to life in there. I turned right back around and checked out, but since it was prepay only, there was no option offered to get my money back. Honestly , it felt like walking into a single person's home that they were living in, and I feared that they would come home at any minute.

Staff are friendly and location is great, close to the beach. Property condition, not so much. AC started leaking water on first night, got moved to another room, turns out it had a blown board on the AC as well. Was a struggle. Manager was in Italy and stafff said they had to wait for manager to respond before they can do anything. Surely for a major tourist centre they should have an Assistant Manager or someone who can make decisions. Next time will book a place thats more reliable.

Property is the Best Spot for Shopping, Close to Pubic Transport but the Main thing that stood out for is Location, Location, Location. Being so close to the Heart of Surfers Paradise and Cavill Ave and the Price was not too bad. Would stay here again for sure solely for its Location to Shops. You do not have to drive once Your Car is Parked, just make sure tha You remember that You arrived on a Car lol. Car Park was also Secure too.

Bathroom was disgusting with paint peeling and bath rusting. We went to use the vacuum and it was full and had to be emptied. Fridge was too cold to keep certain items in. One wardrobe door was hanging on by one hinge. Staff were really friendly and helpful.

Microwave dirty drawer broken chair table few on the other side of balcony no1 came to check was left like that whole time even I had reported it to reception broken kitchen draw had to deal with that. Drain blockage in bathroom yellow water was coming up floors wet towel kept turning yellow when covering drain. Remote stopped working. Throw ur own rubbish. Washing and drying all in basement. Hallways smelt very bad by lifts. The guy who responded to everything was nice but he only had so much he was allowed to handle did pass on the message to reception. It was ok but things need renovations in that room especially. If it’s windy u can’t sleep slide door rattles.

All I’m going to say is LOCATION LOCATION LOCATION
We stayed at Beachcomber as it’s close to everything and the parking for the car was excellent
The bed and pillows were very comfortable and clean
The building itself needs a facelift and the rooms need attending such as paintwork
Our room had a new kitchen but our shower was yukky
We had a washing machine and dryer so it was perfect and we also had a clothes horse so I could hang the clothes out in the fresh air
Our balcony faced the beach and it was amazing as we spent New Year’s Eve here and the fireworks were great to watch from the 27th floor balcony
The beach is a few steps away as well as all your dining
There is no restaurant in the actual hotel but that’s ok as there was plenty very close by
The staff are lovely
Great security at night
The lifts were quick
The outdoor and indoor pool were good not excellent but good no sun in the pool area
The Carpark is only $10 per day which is very little compared to most
There is no cleaning of your room unless you request it and you will be charged but there is a vacuum cleaner mop etc
I used the vacuum cleaner to get rid of the sand from the beach
Other than that cannot fault it as it’s all about location

This place is a bit old and dated but was nice and clean and tidy although cigarette butt was left in the room from previous people. Spa was cold but the pool was nice. No soap or microwave bowls provided. When we arrived our rollerway bed was missing but they sorted this upon asking. Was also only two towels for three people which they also sorted. Great location for shops and restaurants. This place has no housekeeping, room service etc. it’s quite noisy from street noise so wouldn’t suit a light sleeper.

No air-conditioning or water pressure with a view

No air conditioning, room run down, shower runs out of pressure and generally dirty room all round.

Reported the air conditioner - response 'we will send a technician up to the room'. Even after they inspected and agreed that the air conditioner did not work (see photos), still not offered a new room with air conditioning. Asked at the desk after the technicians had been - response 'we haven't received their report', even asking a second time the next day.

Pictures tell alot of the story, wardrobes have a sickening smell when you open them (they've been repainted white on the outside to make them look newer than they are). Bathroom tiles are either not complete, or they are putting a second layer of tiles on top of the original to hide them. Bathroom sink cannot come clean, as per the pictures was like this the whole time. The shower was useless, I only turned on the hot water in the end to even get a warm shower and the pressure fades after a minute to a dribble.

Worst of all even before the stay I was harassed by email, sms and phone call to pay the full amount of the room charge for 6 nights upfront + a 3 hund deposit on top of that! Even though I bought this property as 'pay at property on the day' through hotels.com - yes this has been reported to them and this option should not be offered if you do not wish to abide by it.

Conditions on leaving are that you put the garbage in the basement bins and wash up all the cutlery etc you use. This is why the room is grubby.

This is a nice hotel in a great spot. I was a little shocked that guests are given a “starter pack” of a small shampoo and shower gel and if you need more it is charged! I stay in a lot of hotels and have never seen this. I bought my own elsewhere on general principle. Oh and if you put anything into the bin you have to take it to the dumpster in basement or they will charge you for housekeeping. Really?

Check in people were nice and overall the hotel is clean enough given it’s age. The location is as good as it gets with access to everything. Pools and spa are lovely and clean.

This property was located in a fabulous position close to Cavill Avenue and adjacent to Surfers Paradise beach.
We had an excellent view of the beach from our 21st floor room.

I booked through Wotif and sure I clicked on a one bedroom ocean view room. Confirmation came back that I had a renovated suite. I emailed Wotif on this and did not not receive a reply.?
When checking in I was advised that they had a renovated suite on the 21st floor.
It was hard to tell what part of the room had been renovated. The kitchen was old and tired and the smallest kitchen I had ever seen in a holiday unit. The bathroom certainly had not been renovated. The rubber backed black out curtains were also deteriorating and the lounge was small and uncomfortable.
There was no plugs for the bath nor the bathroom handbasin. We asked for a plug for the bath but never received it. A plug was provided for the handbasin the following day. There was no outdoor table on the balcony to rest a drink on.
Overall disappointed with the room as it did not represent value for money.

Found my stay all but relaxing; for the 3 nights I was there I was tormented with the loud noise from all the construction workers occurring outside. I was situated on the 6th floor, road facing and I left this Hotel looking anything but rested. Was disappointed that none of this is advertised and you are not made aware of this prior to check in; i did read a review about this but thought it was a one off, oh was i wrong.

The hotel rooms are outdated in style and furniture but suffice for a short stay, especially if you arent to concerned with aesthetics. Also some seating furniture on the balcony which was nice to have breakfast and enjoy the sunrise; but i recommend walking down to the beach and soaking in the sun from their.

Note: you need to dispose of all rubbish upon check out in the basement, there are no cleaners who do this for you.

Also to advertise on Expedia that you have \"Luggage storage\" but then advise guests to store their bags behind the brochure wall is deceptive - i didn't feel comfortable doing this as there was no tagging system or monitoring system; guest were free to place and remove their bags at their convenience which opens the opportunity for theft, with no other option i trusted the system but would've liked this to be clearly advertised.

Wifi was not that good but TV had options to connect to Youtube, Netflix etc.

This property is very dirty, I see cockroaches on the bed and lizards on the walls, I see the washroom sink doesn’t work properly and the shower is dancing all over and didn’t like to go for a bath. Wall Watch is just a show piece that doesn’t work and interior is not good or up to the mark. I can show you the images. In the kitchen everything is old and doesn’t work properly, I think the microwave is of my grandparents generation when asked for a room change they just denied, I have offered them an extra pay for the change but they didn’t change and I have to stay in that scary room for 4 days. When asked for refund from Expedia and Beachcomber they have got to remind me of rules and regulations. Which they didn’t remember when they are not giving the amenities mentioned in the website. There is no sunrise breakfast, don’t expect anything that is mentioned on the website it worst experience for me. I was starving in the morning and had to step out for food and pay for it where I thought it would be covered at the property expenditures. Cupboards need to be cleaned or replaced, I didn’t feel like using them at all, hairdryer is not in working condition and makes a different noise, iron box I didn’t feel like touching also it was so dirty with spiderwebs. Anyways thanks for giving me such a worst experience and a nightmare in my life. I won’t forget these 4 days in my life.
