Even thou pool wasnt open till 4pm due to renovations ,we could use another at sister hotel .

It did the job that I had booked it for. Hudson at reception was good, but the time it took to checkin was quite long for a relatively short queue (3). tried to checkin online via the link they sent me but it didn't work and didn't get sent a new one so thad to do it at the hotel. the rooms are getting tired and the money being spent on the oustide would be better of on the inside.

Didn’t realise the hotel is pretty aged, for this price paid I was expecting something newer. Facilities are like 1980s however it has been presented clean. Amenities are aged too where a renovation is strongly recommended. Location is superb and the ocean view is good, that’s the reason for the price however could be better with a refresh renovation.

The location was great. Honestly we expected a little more from a well known hotel/resort chain. A few issues.
1. TV wasn’t working - easy fix maintenance replaced just inconvenient.
2. Found sand in our newly made bed (question the. If it was changed).
3. Flushing the toilet cut the cold water to the shower so water can scold, not even a warning sign. Told maintenance when doing TV replacement.
4. No complimentary toiletries or water which always adds a nice touch for guests.
5. Patio/balcony door very heavy and hard to open.
The quality of the room was fairly low just In General. Very pokey bathroom with door opening up onto shower entry, awkward basin as faucet too short and worst of all was a very uncomfortable bed. Very hard mattress.
Just expected a better quality from Novotel name.
To top it all off when checking out the reception didn’t even ask how our stay was, just took the keys and said “okay”. I mentioned the sand in the bed and to pass onto housekeeping but frankly their reaction was quite disconnected. At least they apologised but still didnt ask how everything else was so didn’t bother.
I recommend management look at the guest experience and how to achieve a premium stay by just the little things. I know much can’t be done about room structure but ensuring all rooms are quality checked, low cost freebies (all others do it) and a show of care will go a long way.

We stayed at Novotel Surfers Paradise for 3 nights, the beds were horrible and moving around badly and the bottom side of the beds sliding down, after I spoke to the receptions the manager called me and trying to move us to another room and apologised for the issues . The manager was very nice. Also she gave us complementary breakfast as apologised.

The breakfast buffet was really good with lots of variety. The balcony with the view of the ocean was fantastic however, it was very loud at night with all the shows going on. Although the hotel was very convenient I would choose to stay somewhere quieter next time. Overall, the hotel was safe, convenient and had everything we needed. It was nice to be so close to all the stores and food restaurant choices and to have a grocery store located within the mall. I did find it difficult to get room service when I needed it however, there was one room service attendant, who was most helpful, a Filipino lady, who was very good about cleaning up after my son who became sick during our stay. I wish I could remember her name as I think she deserves a pay raise!

However, the location of the hotel was good and convenient. Overall, it was not the experience we were hoping for.

We did ask the staff member behind the bar on Sunday afternoon if happy hour was still on ??? , the staff member replied that happy hour was still available.
We ordered same drinks and was charged full prices 🙃

We didn't say anything at the time and just decided to take the rest of our business elsewhere for the rest of the afternoon.

Apart from this small incident we had a wonderful time

Room was a good size with comfortable beds but the noise from outside was unbearable. The hinterland facing rooms are inundated with noise from the bars/nightclubs directly across the road. I know the location of the hotel is right in the centre of Surfers Paradise so a bit of noise is to be expected, but this was next level. The buffet breakfast was very expensive and very average in quality. All the staff were friendly. When the check in attendant found out it was my daughters birthday she organised for a cupcake to be delivered to our room which was a lovely surprise.

There were some positives, but as a family we probably wouldn't stay again.

Do not pay the $42 per person for a breakfast, that doesnt include a barrista coffee. Will 100% never stay here again. The pool was closed and property upkeep terrible. Service to the pool took forever. Breakfast at $84 for 2 people and you get some scrambled egg, beans and basics I would never have paid that had I know. Extremely disappointed.

the room was very dim especially at night and only had few sources of light. for a 4 star hotel, the toilet was disappointing as it had minimal space. they also did not clear out excess rubbish and just did the bare minimum, not clearing out excess trash which was placed obviously at the door and meant to be taken out. they only provided a tissue box when we asked at the counter and did not provide one when they cleaned the room despite us almost running out . The bottom few tissues in the tissue box turned blue and was stained by the packaging. The room with the ocean view was not even facing the ocean, the ocean was only able to be seen at the corner of the balcony and the room was facing another hotel instead. otherwise, room was clean and had better lighting in the day from the balcony and staff was kind.

Staff were so rude. Parking is an extra $27 on top of the $300 you pay for the room. It’s a joke. Can’t access parking basement during certain times and wasn’t notified of such thing.
No swim up bar. No ingredients in the bar to make cocktails on their menu

We stayed 21–28 February 2026 to celebrate my 40th birthday with my wife and our 4-year-old son. We’ve previously had great experiences with Novotel in Melbourne, so we expected similar standards here. Unfortunately, this stay was disappointing.

On arrival, our room had been changed from a Superior Deluxe Ocean View to a Deluxe City View. We were initially told this was an upgrade, which was confusing, and it took several discussions before we were given the room we had booked.
The air conditioning in our room was not working properly, and we were provided with plug-in fans instead, which was not ideal in the February heat.

We were also disappointed that the pool was closed on weekdays until 4pm due to maintenance, despite receiving prior notice stating works would not begin until April 14. Poolside service was unavailable. While access to a partner hotel pool one block away was offered, it was inconvenient with a young child.

Positives: the room was clean with daily housekeeping, breakfast was good with varied options, and staff kindly surprised us with champagne and treats for my birthday.
The location is excellent, central to Cavill Ave, shops, restaurants and the beach.
However, overall the hotel did not meet the standard we expected, and we would not return.

The hotel has become old and needs more attention to cleanliness. The bed in our room was not steady, moved with the slightest push. No one came to check on it even when requesting twice for someone to check it.
Parking has become more expensive over the couple of years.
The only great thing about the stay was the view.

The room was run down and smelled of mildew during our stay. It definitely needs a little renovation. There were chips everywhere on the furniture, the bathroom tiles. the bottom of the door the paint was coming of curling.Also if your room faces cavil ave then be prepared for noise all night as its not sound proof and i could not sleep.

The front desk staff was great checkin and check out where a breeze.

Room was ok. I ordered Room service for dinner and the burger I ordered arrived raw. There was no previous mention about the noise - I could hear/feel the bass from local nightclubs all the way up into the early hours of the morning even on floor 29. As this was a work visit I really needed quality sleep, which I was not allowed. Had I had known, I would have booked elsewhere.

Staff were super friendly and location is good if you’re looking to be central to all the action of Surfers Paradise.

The drinking glasses were not washed properly. Full of soap. The hotel also lost power for 5 - 6 hours around 9 pm until 2-3 am and we were not notified or informed/ even a simple apology during checkout .we had to sleep without the air con in the humid QLD weather.

Having stayed for 3 days in room 2208 which was good i had to move for my further two day stay to room 3115. The difference was remarkable. Room 3115; the safe didnt work, the balcony door catch was broke , the curtains were hanging off their hooks , the floor had not been washed as there was sand underfoot wherever i walked. The toilet seat in the bathroom did not fit correctly, in general the room needed a total refurb...very disappointing.
Martin on reception was extremely helpful , advising me of places to visit not mentioned in the guide book. David on concierge duty was also very helpful especially with my room move. Whilst he was unable to comment he understood my disappointment. If room 3115 had been my first experience i would definitely not have extended my stay.

Room clean, great location right in the heart of Sufers paradise. Pool area could be better, no bar and the need to go from the 5th to the ground floor to get a drink or snack isn't brilliant especially as it's through a child proof gate, door key access controlled door, and doorkey access controlled lift, is a poor customer experience and difficult carrying even two schooners.

Bathroom not brilliant, bit tired.

Breakfast pretty good, but doesn't open til 6.30 am, which is like 7.30 if you're heading to Sydney or the central coast that day on an early start.

The room view was first class! Found the shower a complete pain in the butt as the track cannot stop the water flowing onto the bathroom floor. Staff pleasant when engaged but generally look morose and like they would rather be anywhere else, a general low energy vibe. Took three requests over four days to fix an issue with the TV coming on randomly during the night and waking us up. Good comms re the renovation and the tradies on site where the friendliest people around.

Fridge was quite loud when trying to sleep and didn’t seem to be a hand towel, a hook near basin would be good for washing and drying hands. Great location easy walk to restaurants and beach.
