Very nice Chateau with modern and clean rooms.
Walking between the main castle and the house with hotel rooms is a bit inconvenient but ok.
The restaurant for dinner was busy and perhaps under-staffed. We experienced quite a wait to order and I had to ask literally 5-times to get a bottle of water. The food was good and the waiters were generally nice.

If we could give 100 stars we would. This chateau, the staff, dining and amenities are all hidden gems in the countryside outside of Annecy. From the time of check in to the check out, everyone was helpful and pleasant. The staff at the restaurant were fantastic and offered great recommendations. If you are questioning whether or not to book; do it and do not hesitate. You will surely regret if you don’t stay and one night is most definitely not long enough.

This is an amazingly beautiful hotel, both inside and out. The staff is very friendly, but maybe only half speak English. The rooms are beautiful as well, and each one has a different theme, each room has a theme name and no room number. The rooms are nicely updated, except the wooden floors squeak.

This place deserves more than five stars. If I can give it 100 I would. I only wish that I found this place sooner, I would’ve booked an additional two nights instead of staying in Geneva.

Our hotel in Geneva was the same price, and piled in comparison to the IMPECCABLE service and quality we’ve experienced here.

We love the Sonade Suite! The balcony parlour was an added surprise! it was foggy during our stay, but it would’ve been a fantastic breakfast at the Sun been out. So we decided to take breakfast downstairs.

Make sure to book a dinner reservation here we had a four course meal, and it was divine!

There is also a boutique, fitness center, and a steam room. The staff at this Château, was incredible.

Every single guest we’ve encountered at this hotel was super happy to be here. It’s literally an enchanted place!!!

We stumbled on this hidden gem en route to Geneva. We booked a suite for a family which was away from the main hotel we used the car a walk to the main hotel with small children would be possible but tricky. The staff were superb, the food in the restaurant exquisite, the food for the children sublime. Yes it’s expensive but it was worth it. The only thing the hotel lacks is a pool. We would definitely head back there.

This chateaux, hotel was a fairytale! Looked like a castle, interior was classic, 16 century feel. If you are a mountain bike fan, the hotel provides electric bikes for use and the biking trail around the hotel are breathtaking! Breakfast was really good. Everything was sooo good.

À night in the squirrel house

The disappointment was that we expected to stay in the chateau not the modern annexe cutely named the squirrels house. I suspect we didn’t pay enough attention when we booked and actually it was fantastic - a suite with a splendid view towards the lake , clean, modern very comfortable! Dinner was very good - the menu was a little minted but the food was excellent quality and the service good. Breakfast was excellent with the nice addition of a plate of gooey French toast - I’ve stayed in hundreds of French hugely and this is not the norm- it was lovely comfort food!

I am not sure if this is Expedia’s fault in presenting the options or the property’s fault for submitting the information, but you must be aware there are TWO buildings at this property, and one of them is nor a chateau, but rather a modern building approximately 500 yards away from the main building. And modern looking rooms are located in that building, not in the main chateau, which we discovered only after arriving. The modern building’s rooms are nice and, well, modern, and clean, although we had our share of issues. Some were minor - like their fancy Sonos audio system that requires app installation on a smartphone was playing music only in a bathroom. Some were annoying: apparently one of the rooms has a fireplace and when guests in that room started the fireplace, our room was filled with smoke smell. Probably related to that but around midnight a fire alarm has started blasting its siren causing a bit of a panic - we called the reception and they told us, laughing, that it’s ok and the alarm will go away in a few minutes. But other than that it was a nice experience, and the location is definitely worth checking out.

The website advertises rooms in the chateau. At check-in, after having paid, management informed us we would be staying in an annex of the chateau. This uninteresting 21st century construction provided shelter, but was remote from important facilities, such as the restaurant, which was located in the chateau. Thus, we had to drive to eat a meal in the restaurant of our own hotel.

Very old. Our room was in the loft and very stuffy, tiny half windows and unbearably hot, had to run a fan. Restaurant - excellent locally produced food but only three starters and three main courses, same menu lunch and dinner, very limited , breakfast extra charge. The staff truly make this destination one to remember. While to property may not compare directly to a top tier Relais et Chateaux property for the smallest of reasons your experience and memories will be treasured for a long time.

Delightful architecture, colourful history, a variety of dining rooms and amazing views of the Mont Blanc Massif make this a destination to add in yo anyone's calendar.

The food was what you would expect from the brand, the staff were exceptional and yet the property still displayed a slightly casual and very homely feel.

The beds were very comfy and even though the rooms were slightly on the small size because of the age of the property the decoration and fittings made up for what you might feel you missed.

Located in beautiful French Alps, this is one of those hotels you must experience. Staffs are wonderful. Sunrise and sunset are some of the most beautiful sights to behold (provided the weather permitted). A car is a must for this location. We stayed 8 days, and drove to many destinations from here. Mont-Blanc/Chamonix is 1 hour drive (check the cable left status before you go). Lyon is about 1 5 hour drive. I suggest don't drive to Lyon, we tried to find a parking space for an hour and gave up. Visit many Switzerland cities. Zermatt is a must, but it takes 4 hour driving. We have to stay in Montreux for one night. We wish we spent the money and stayed at the Zermatt for a night.
Try the hotel restaurant. The Le M (57 Euro) is the best value. Duck is OK, little too salty for us. The veal is great. We went to the local supermarket (Carrefour) for our daily needs. Try foie gras from the meat counter.
Some of the parking lot does not take credit card (very difficult to process), have coins ready to save some embarrassing moments.

Everything about Chateau des Avenieres is a delight from the old world charm of its Chateau rooms to the totally modern chic of its Maison suites. My suite had a private rooftop terrace jacuzzi and an in room sauna for absolute luxuriation. The views of the Alps are beyond description and compliment the already serene ambiance of this property. The hosts are warm, engaging, and accommodating. Dining options are limited but exquisitely prepared. I can't wait to get back.

Our stay was in late April. Weather is typically mild during this time, but it was cold and snowy during our stay. This was a pleasant surprise. We woke to several inches of snow and it was gorgeous. The restaurant is small and has a massive fireplace which was lovely to sit by. The roads were passable so we drove to Geneva, a short drive from the chateau, for a day visit. The road up the mountain to the chateau curves and twists, but is manageable, even with the snow. The staff was awesome, so helpful and attentive. We felt like VIPs. The chateau is gorgeous. The room was large and the bed was very comfortable. The food was top notch - phenomenal. We were in Europe for 2 weeks and this hotel experience was our most favorite. Highly recommended!

An unexpected luxury experience.

A great getaway from the hustle and bustle of life. The hotel is located serenely on a hill top overlooking the Annecy lake. It consist of the main chateau and a luxury annex that gives luxury a new meaning. The staff is friendly and has a big heart for their guests. Our only misgiving was that the pool was only knee deep and not really a pool - However, the area, the hotel, staff and food compensated amply for the missing pool.

This is a charming hotel in a beautiful location which has no customer focus and is unsuitable for business use. There was no wifi (although you get wifi code), no international news (although the news channels are listed in the hotel directory), and no evening bar. There was no restaurant on the night I attended (Tuesday). With the nearest village miles away there is nothing to do. The hotel had a snack menu which was served in what I can only describe as glass jars

We came with a great hope to enjoy our first chateau stay. But, with the African room we got, it was quite extensively decorated for this small room and it was a bit of a turn-off. And the mattress sank in the middle which is rather uncomfortable and the cable box of the TV only works when one stands in front of it. We have to say, it was a total disappointment! To be fair, the ground and the view is beautiful!

This was so much more then we expected. We upgraded our room so we would have a beautiful huge balcony with a beautiful view. It was so peaceful and the view was worth every extra Dollar we spent. A lot of times you see pictures on the internet of your hotel and when you get there you are disappointed because it is not as nice as you thought it would be. But this hotel was so much nicer then we could have imagined. Loved it. I would highly recommend it.

One of the nicest Chateaus I have ever stayed in. Easy to find on GPS with hotel given instructions. Service was simply perfect and nothing to complain about. Room was nice and well kept but obviously it's a historical building so can't really expect for a five star type of hardware. Didn't realize this was a gastronomic hotel otherwise would have booked for dinner on the date of arrival.

The surrounding of this hotel was beautiful and the dinner at the hotel was delicious, well served, with a great view. But our stay was affected by the following surprises:

1. There are several buildings on the property. But only the castle like building is shown in the pictures. This is a little false advertising. Our room was large and clean but it is not in the castle like building. My kids were a little disappointed.
2. There were flies coming in and out of the salami on the breakfast buffet table.
3. Transportation from the train station was inconvenient. Our driver arranged with the hotel did not pick us up as we expected. We were waiting at the train station for about an hour and we had to make many phone calls to the hotel as his phone was not reachable.

Positive points:Friendly staff, interesting room decor, excellent setting. Clean room. The night we arrived the restaurant was closed. We were informed by e-mail of an alternative arrangement of a \"garden party\" vaguely described as consisting of a drink and music. Fortunately, we decided to drive to Annecy and eat at a restaurant there. The hotel markets itself as a top gastronomic venue, with menus priced accordingly, but I assume this is only the case at the very height of the tourist season in July and August - what a shame (we visited in June). The hotel would also have benefited from having a swimming pool

Unique experience with Exceptional food

This Chateau provides one of the more unique experiences I have had. The degustation was absolutely heaven and memorable. The accommodation is a very high quality country house.. It acts and behaves like a four star establishment, the staff and service is incredible.. but it is designed first as a residence so it is very homely environment and not as spacious as a hotel specific design. The pool and grounds were under-going some work but the bleak and freezing weather kept us indoors anyway. So it was hard to get the feeling of what could be done and explored in the 62 acres of the property. I imagine it could be a hikers and walkers delight around the area.

Very nice

We stayed in Geneva for a few days and decided to rent a car and travel a bit. This hotel is about 50 mins away from DT Genevea with no traffic and is really nice. The food at the restaurant pricey (350 euros for two with wine) but really worth the money. Maybe one of the best restaurants , if not the best. Got a really nice room as well (chambre bleue) with view over the Mont Blanc.

Since the moment we arrived, the staff greeted us and were incredibly helpful and lovely .
The room was beautifully and tastefully decorated and the bathroom was very romantic with the curtains over the bath and decorated with marble roman busts.
It's a beautiful chateaux but the highlight wax the amazing dinner .
It was truly memorable . We met the chef later and were surprised that he does not have Michelin star yet as he is still very young .

Schönes kleines « château » mit Weitsicht

Sehr schön gelegen in ruhiger Umgebung. Personal ist freundlich und hilfsbereit. Der eigene Parkplatz innerhalb der Hotelanlage ist Videoüberwacht.
Das Abendessen im Restaurant M (im Hotel) war eher teuer, aber absolut den Preis wert.
Wir hatten ein Zimmer im Nebengebäude, da im Schloss bereits alles ausgebucht war. Gutes Zimmer mit modernem (neuwertigen) Bad und Klima. Absolut empfehlenswert.

Leider abgezockt worden

Es war alles, wirklich alles super. Paar Stunden nach dem check out wurde mir alles was ich von der Mini Bar konsumiert habe, einfach von den Kreditkarte abgebucht. Es stand nirgendwo, dass der Inhalt von der Mini Bar kostenpflichtig ist😡. Schade, dass ihr damit alles kaputt gemacht hat. Ich würde es wegen dem für niemanden empfehlen. Abzockerei😡😡😡

Unser war retour d'afrique , nicht gut wegen dem Ventilatoren der Küche, wenn das Fenster offen ist
