We had a wonderful stay. Great lodge, super clean, very well appointed, lovely bar and restaurant with delicious food. The setting is amazing, you are in the rainforest with a stretch of river to swim in, the pool is also unique! The spa treatments we had were extremely good and reasonably priced. The stay was made extra special by the wonderful staff, everyone was warm and welcoming and went out of their way to make our stay magical. We hope to return one day!!!

This is a magical place nestled near the entrance to the Daintree Forest. My family hiked the nicely maintained and well-documented trails next to the Mossman river, swam in it, also enjoyed the pool that the hotel maintains.
The wine and cocktail tastings every evenings are a great way to wind down the day, the meals were simply sumptuous - breakfast, lunch, and dinner. We had so much good food!
The guest houses the property maintains are also lovely, with sleek modern bathrooms, ample space, and short walks back to reception or the mossmann river.
This is a beatiful spot to rest and relax in - staff were consistently fantastic, lovely, and friendly. They take very good care of the place and it shows.
Lastly, while the property maintains a free guest laundry, I suggest you use the service instead. The guest use clothes dryers on the property are not really performant.

Where to start!! Stay at the Silky Oaks Lodge was truly a dream come true. The staff is amazing and made us feel so welcomed and special from the moment we arrived. Our room was perfect - very clean and the mini bar was stocked with everything you could need. Our view was in the middle of the rainforest with river views and total privacy. We enjoyed time on the patio together and the bathtub was heavenly. Every meal was delicious. Such a dream!!!

We recently spent 3 nights at Silky Oaks Lodge in early February 2024. We couldn't have asked for a better experience! The resort itself was gorgeous! We loved our bungalow and the view of the Mossman River. The staff was over the top friendly and accommodating. We arranged some day trips through the front desk, ABC Snorkeling to the Great Barrier Reef and Walk About Cultural Tours to explore the beach and the Mossman River Gorge. Both experiences were life altering. I wish we had made time to go to the spa - we received a personal tour before we left. We'll definitely do that next time. We made wonderful friends with the staff and cannot wait to return. Thank you for taking such great care of us!

Our family (parents 3 20s children) had the most amazing stay in 2 treehouse rooms. It was like an enchanted forest with great food (included) and drink. Very relaxing and just the thing for the last 4 days of a long and busy trip. We just enjoyed our surroundings and didn’t even feel the need to venture outside the resort. Our adult children loved it too. Highly recommend.

What an incredible hotel, on the border of the Daintree. Stayed here for two nights, and would have loved a third - it goes too quick.
As we arrived at the hotel, we were faced with a gate to the Lodge. We buzzed, and by the time we'd parked a porter and receptionist were coming to greet us at the car. Our luggage was taken, and our incredible time here started.
Where to start... the room was lovely, with a hammock on the front balcony. A bath was on the back, facing the lush greenery. A fridge stocked with wine, cheese - and cupboard stocked with crisps, crackers, cookies and more. Everything you could want to enjoy your time in the room, and restocked each day.
The reception is in a large open building, that continues through to the restaurant. The restaurant looks over the river, which you can hike along if there hasn't been too much rain. The height of the ceilings give a large open, airy feeling - and helps to give a feeling of calm and relaxation.
The pool was a nice escape, with drinks offered from the bar. Unfortunately no pool service, but the bar wasn't too far away. They were happy to bring it down to the pool.
The river itself was stunning, and is quite safe to swim in (we were told) due to the colder temperature, the constant flow of water, as well as the rocks that are on either end of the river. Kayaks and other swimming gear is provided on the riverbank.
Highly recommend the Rapids trail. You wont be disappointed.

I visited with my boyfriend for two nights during and we had a lovely time. Whole property was exactly as pictured. Everything was immaculately cared for and pristinely clean. Very relaxing, peaceful but also opulent vibe. Doesn’t seem like a spot that would interest children, definitely more couples or solo retreat-appropriate.
Our treehouse was fantastic. Spacious, clean, temperature controlled, beautiful bathroom and peaceful interior. Bit unusual not to have TVs but we both have streaming services on our iPads and the wifi was fine so no big deal. Very weak bathroom lighting and no alternative well-lit area elsewhere in the room so I couldn’t see a thing when putting on makeup but that’s pretty common in hotels.
Our favourite part was the constructed rock pool. We really enjoyed swimming in there, beautiful temperature, very serene - and being a quiet lodge with limited guests, we had the pool to ourselves.
My only gripe was that the arrival “chat” and commune feel felt quite overbearing. When we arrived, we were taken out to the back verandah for welcome drinks and a check-in/greeting. The lady was very friendly/kind but the greeting discussion dragged on for well over an hour before we were finally allowed to see our room.

We love the location, layout of the lodge surroundings and particularly the upgrade of the main lodge and the treehouses. This was our 2nd visit and strangely found ourselves in no. 37 again - bathroom upgrade is fabulous. Loved the food and staff were wonderful. Great spa experiences.

Incredible Lodge. We loved it. We stayed in the River Treehouse and it was great. The river was low b/c it hasn’t rain much. The service was outstanding. We stayed 4 nights and ate in the hotel everyday for breakfast and every evening for dinner. The food was very good. We went on a hike on the property and it was well worth it. We walked down to the river and waded in. We were extremely happy with staying in the Rainforest as opposed to Port Douglas and were glad we chose Silky Oaks. It exceeded our expectations.

Amazing rainforest setting with its own stunning swimming hole. The rooms are very relaxing , breakfast and dinner delicious. There are some nice touches such as free cookies in the room, free suncreen and insect repellent. Red wine in restaurant is very expensive (nothing under $100) so would suggest one or two bottles that are a bit more affordable would be great. And perhaps a 2 course dinner special to encourage people to eat at the restaurant more than once.

Loved how nice and professional everyone was, they continually give you waters, they know all of the parts of the property and are extremely helpful. We went during their coldest days and still found the hikes extremely enjoyable (moderate difficulty) and enjoyed taking a dip in the watering holes (chilly but VERY refreshing--highly recommend). My wife loved yoga in the morning over the river, great breakfast spread. The rooms were wonderful as well with nice balconies to just relax.

Don't miss Silky Oaks if you're in the area. Staying here was a highlight of our entire trip to Australia. The rooms are gorgeously styled with incredible bathtubs and thoughtful amenities; dinner is delicious as are the drinks; pool is awesome; and hikes around the lodge are just what we were looking for. The free laundry self-service was an especially nice touch. My only regret is that the spa isn't open later in the day, and that we couldn't stay for a second night because they were all booked up.

Amazing 5 star experience from check in right up until check out! We were greeted with a welcome drink upon arrival while the porter took our luggage to the room. Once we finished our cocktail we were taken to our room and shown where everything was.
All staff in the hotel were super attentive.
The restaurant is amazing. high quality food with a menu that changes slightly every night, so that there are new options if you stay and eat in the on-site restaurant for multiple nights.
The Yoga class in the morning near the river is a must!
Gardens are well maintained and the rooms are super clean and we also had nightly turn down service. Tealight candles await you every night. The rooms have a beautiful scent as well.
It is a 25min drive into the heart of Port Douglas but given the quality of food and atmosphere we found that we didn't want to leave the hotel.
The Mossman river is peaceful and there were not many mosquitos around the resort which is great!

The Silky Oaks Lodge was the most romantic hotel we have ever been to. The setting of the lodge is within the rainforest and along a beautiful river. When we opened the door to our tree house, we were greeted with mood lighting, lit candles, wonderful smelling diffusers, and music. The tree house was exceptionally clean. The staff were all very nice and the food was very good. The lodge has a small beach billabong area that was incredible to swim in with calm clear waters and sandy areas to sit. I highly recommend staying here once in your life! It made our trip to Australia unforgettable

Gorgeous resort,set amongst the rainforest. Pool area is stunning and designed to compliment surroundings. Restaurant and lounge dining food were delicious, breakfast included was great with option of ordering off menu or buffet. Rooms were well appointed, but be mindful no wifi in room and no tv in room, but wifi available in public areas and entertainment room with tv, if you are wanting. Fabulous lodge in the ultimate rainforest setting.
From start to finish it was fabulous. The staff are super friendly and charming the minute you arrive. Nothing is too much trouble and they upgraded us to a larger treehouse as there were 3 of us. Everything is just stunning and lives up to the website photos. We had champagne cocktails delivered by the swimming holes and sipped them as we were floating around in the river which is just as crystal clear and beautiful as pictured on the website. We paddled canoes on the river too which was a bit of fun. Top marks all round.

Got to unwind for a weekend at silky oaks and we'll definitely be back. The room wasnt ready at the check-in time and unfortunately the masseuse was fully booked meaning my partner and i had to go elsewhere (a main reason why i booked this accomodation). Not things i would expect from a 1k a night hotel but everything else was perfect. The lodge, staff and location all contributed to a very relaxing weekend.

Best Hotel Experience Ever!!
The attention to detail at this hotel is one like I have never experienced before. To lighting candles in our room before arrival, a box of chocolates on the bed, the cookies left at our door after dinner, and the candles lit around the spa in the evening. This place was so relaxing, I did not want to leave. Am already planning another stay here. Would highly recommend to anyone wanting some peace, quiet and relaxation.

A truly special place to stay while seeing the sights in North Queensland. The dining area is spellbinding with its elevated views overlooking the river through the trees. Within the first 2 minutes of arriving we knew we walked into something very unique and special, the staff were exceptional and very friendly, walking into our treehouse for the first time was an experience, the ambience created via candles, scent diffusers and music really set the scene, the furnishings are simply stunning as is the deck and hammock high up overlooking the river, which really put the icing on the cake.
30 minutes in and we are swimming in a stunning natural rock pool with not a single other person to be seen.

Daintree Living at its best!
You might pay a premium to stay here but let me tell you - its worth it! Immediately greeted with welcome cocktail by Neil the amazing hotel manager. A riverside resort, literally on-top of the Mossman River in the famous gorge! You wont need to pay other tour operators for tours either as you have access to 4 hours worth of jungle walking on private property. You can also swim in private billabongs on the river! Great clear freshwater swimming! The food is 5 star, the service is 5 star, the rooms are 5 star - we loved our stay. We were treated to an upgrade which was amazing (thank you!). If you are going to stay i suggest the riverfront tree houses as they have the sound of running water and are much more light. I would definitely return without hesitation. Also, if you are doing a crocodile tour - i suggest Bruce Belcher's tours - small family operator but by far the most successful as shown by our full boat and at least 8 crocodile sightings in 1 hour. Many other tour operators on the river skipped straight past what our driver could spot.

We had a quick friendly and welcoming check in. A relaxing spot on the edge of the rainforest. The bush trails from the lodge were relatively easy to walk. We were unexpectedly offered a complimentary lunch due to the paint fumes from the renovations in the tree house next door.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay as we have in a number of other Luxury Lodges of Australia. The serenity and privacy of your treehouse, overlooking the Mossman Gorge and rainforest, ensured a wonderfully relaxing three days. The food, wine and extremely attentive staff meant that we also thoroughly savoured our meals in a restaurant setting beyond spectacular.

Wow! What an experience. We knew it was going to be different and it did not disappoint. Set away from everything (it's an $85 cab ride to Port Douglas) in the middle of the rain forest. The food here is AMAZING. The chef and crew are awesome. The whole team really exceeded our expectations on service. Truly 5 star. We knew there was no TV and internet in the room so we were prepared for that and instead enjoyed the hammock and the jet tub and just the peacefulness of the place. I wish we would have paid to upgrade to riverfront though. The river is spectacular! Great trails and pool on the property. Bummed we didn't have time to take advantage of the spa. Let the staff book your tours. They have great relationships and know the ones that will pick you up directly from the hotel. We had an amazing time in the area and will be talking about it for the rest of our lives.

We loved Silky Oaks, and only wished we could have stayed longer. Everything was so wonderful -- the location, the room, the pool, the food. We stayed in a cabin with a deck facing the river, and it was so peaceful and perfect. I'd highly recommend upgrading to this room type if you want privacy and a beautiful view while lounging in the hammock. Would definitely return in a heartbeat.

Amazing staff and beautiful treehouse cottages made our stay here great! We were greeted with a cold refreshment and escorted to our private \"treehouse\" where our luggage was waiting for us. The room was spacious and very clean with an amazing smell from the hardwood floors. We enjoyed watching a wallaby graze off the deck and lots of birds and butterflies. The restaurant had a great complimentary breakfast where we could order from the menu and sample from the buffet. It had everything we were looking for; relaxation and comfort.

Heaven on earth! Luxurious rainforest experience
The first word that comes to mind is \"heaven\". We were greeted with welcome drinks while our room was being prepared (they make sure your room has soft music playing, lit candles, welcome chocolate). Everyone was so helpful. It was hard to adjust to not having TV or wifi in the room, but that's what this place is about - disconnecting! We were able to go to the DVD room and watch movies when we wanted to, which was a huge plus! The resort has a library, board games, small gym, and a gorgeous pool. Silky Oaks gives you the total rainforest experience. We went hiking from the lodge (they give you hiking trail maps) and had a great time exploring the scenery. We saw a kangaroo on the property and we so enjoyed watching the wild turkeys walk around! Our bungalow was an absolute dream - the hammock on our balcony, the bathtub with the rainforest right outside the window - I can't express how beautiful this place is. I love this place and will be dreaming of coming back here.

Very nice cottages in Mossman Gorge.
This is a lodge with a main building then with each room being a separate cottage situated around the property. We stayed in a \"river\" cottage which positioned us with a view of the Mossman river. Our rate included full breakfast from a buffet or a menu. The buffet was excellent! We had dinner on 1 evening and we were quite disappointed. The staff was a bit surly and selection was minimal. The dining room is open air and there were no bugs to speak of. There is wi-fi in the main building, which is free but slow. The rooms were nicely furnished. Floors were beautiful silky oak, the bathroom was clean and enticing. The cottage had a balcony with chairs and a hammock. The room had sliding glass doors with sliding screens. There is a beautiful swimming pool on property built into a grove of plants and trees. Our arrival was heavenly............we were walked to our cottage where new age music was playing on a Bose Wave, candles were lit in the room and on the balcony and the A/C was on. There was a list of things to do plus the lodge would take you several places if you had no car. There is a spa on premises however we did not check it out. The only con was the walking from the cottage to the main lodge, although a golf cart could have been called. It was extremely up and down on the path and a physically challenged individual would have a difficult time on the paths.

Amazing anniversary at Silky Oaks Lodge
My husband and I spent 2 nights at Silky Oaks Lodge and it exceeded our expectations. The hotel grounds were amazing with stunning views. Each morning we woke up to the beautiful sounds of the rainforest. I particularly loved swinging on the balcony in the hammock with those views. The pool was beautiful and the billabong private beach was just amazing. So fresh! We had a long swim there and also went for a short canoe ride around the river.
