The property is currently under a major renovation that will be amazing once complete. Rooms are completed so no issues there but all common areas are affected. Restaurant is relocated but food is good. Garage entrance and exit need some attention and had some issues leaving one time but once again staff helped resolve.

Having the TV working in each room. First room had no TV working as it could not find the source. We were moved to another room and still no working TV. Finally in our 3rd room it was working. In the last 2 rooms there was no telephone.

I would have expected better. The staff was very helpful in finding us a room that had a working connected TV.

Staff and people were great and friendly. The down side was that the room was very hot. We let the staff know and they offered us a new room, but they explained that it would be the same because of the way the AC/heat system works so we didn't bother. The restaurant was also very busy. Food was ok.

The room was really cold, there was no option to rise the temperature. The hotel is undergoing renovations(there was no notification about), which was not announced. It is noisy. Apart this - room was clean, good location and good sleeping conditions - including a nice room

In general, the hotel was good. At check-in, the staff helped with moving around rooms so we could get connecting rooms. The breakfast was wonderful. We ordered some room service as well, and it all went pretty well.
We did have an issue with the temperature in the rooms. It was pretty hot in Lisbon, and the A/C in the rooms were not cool enough. Additionally, the hand soaps in both rooms were empty and we had to call in for more soap. The body was as well got over, and we ended up using the hand wash instead.

Dependable quality Hotel with a choice of pillow hardness (so rare in Portugal) with onsite restaurant. Service at reception v good but very slow service in otherwise quiet restaurant disappointing (25 mins to get drink is not acceptable with 5 staff and 3 tables occupied!) biggest gripe is lack of milk with tea and invisible tea-spoons. What is it with Hotels and tea spoons?

The hotel was under construction. Of course we had no idea. It was very loud and dusty. The manager Layla was horrible. they refused to make any changes to my reservation. I would not recommend this hotel. The staff is terrible.

The price was good but the pool is right under the Lisbon airport flight path so dont expect to relax there. Every single electronic piece of equipment in the gym was broken. The carpets and doors on the ground floor with the gym and pool was beyond tired. The room and the cafeteria were good. Staff very helpful.

Our stay was disappointing overall. The air conditioning was ineffective, the fridge was utterly useless, and even after being moved to another room, the problems remained. Housekeeping was inconsistent — the floors weren’t hoovered on one occasion, and when we asked for the duvet to be changed, we were told it wasn’t necessary, although it was eventually replaced. Daily maintenance noise also made it hard to relax. While staff did respond to complaints, the overall comfort and service fell below the standard we expected from Novotel.

This hotel is terrible. The staff is terrible. The manager is super rude. She doesn’t try to help in anyway. The hotel was under construction. It was sooo dusty. They should have noticed us of the construction before we got there. We tried to change our room because the banging was absolutely terrible but Laila (manager) said no. Never ever staying at a Novotel again

I rarely leave negative reviews, but my recent stay at this hotel was frustrating enough that I feel others should be warned. From the moment I stepped into the room, the experience was uncomfortable.

AC Not Working: Despite the summer heat, the air conditioning was completely non-functional. I contacted the front desk, but all I got was a vague promise that \"someone would look into it\" — which never happened. The room felt like a sauna all night.

Bad Odor: There was a strong, musty smell lingering in the room — the kind that makes you question whether it had been cleaned properly at all. It was tough to relax, let alone sleep, in such an environment.

Dust Everywhere: Dust was floating visibly in the air and had settled on every surface — the desk, bedside tables, even the curtains. It triggered allergies and showed a serious lack of upkeep and cleanliness.

Honestly, this hotel needs a serious revamp in terms of maintenance and housekeeping. We couldn't sleep whole night, What could have been a decent stay turned into a regrettable one. I hope management takes feedback like this seriously because the potential is there — it just needs effort and care.

Great hot breakfast buffet. Fresh ground coffee and you can choose the type of coffee from the machine. There are water refill stations in the lobby. The pool is small and was always busy. There are restaurants and shopping that are walking distance.

Slow to resolve problems with room

The stay was ok overall. It was very hot and the fridge in the room didnt work i complained 4 times before action was taken. Even then they didnt fix it. Just the light bulb worked not the fridge. We stayed 5 nights. It was an inconvience.

Most of the ratings for this hotel are excellent. One annoying incident is that there were barking dogs in the opposite building for the entire night. It was hard to sleep at night as they were loud. Hotel staff did not comment much on this topic when complained. However, overall cleanliness was excellent and two thumbs up. Breakfast was really good and restaurant staff is very friendly. Will definitely visit this hotel if they take care of the dogs barking at night.

No bus boy service

It is a good hotel, modern, clean, up to date, good restaurant with one annoying point, there is no bus boy service. Our large family was traveling a long distance with tons of luggage but the hotel had no bus boy service to bring our bags to our rooms, or to bring them back downstairs. Upon arrival they told me that the hotel had no bus boy service. For a four star hotel this is entirely unacceptable!

It didn’t feel clean, very dusty rooms, AC was loud and didn’t work properly. The kids area was unkept, dirty, and nothing but a huge stuffed bear. The highlight of this place is the bathrooms, they are very spacious, and had a very nice shower. No fridge in the room, just a small mini bar that leaves no room for your personal belongings.

Good hotel but Reservation not in system

Despite confirming with the hotel over phone and mail our reservation and the need for a baby crib when we arrived they couldn’t find our reservation in the system!
We ended up having to wait at the bar with a 7 month old for 45 minutes for them to resolve it. At least they could have covered our water and tea as goodwill.
The hotel has been renovated and our room was comfortable.

Always a very good stay at this hotel. Location was perfect for us - easy access to metro, centre, airport and Benfica stadium. Staff were very friendly and helpful. We stayed in one of the newly renovated floors with a renovated room. Great that the hotel is investing in upgrades. Would definitely recommend this hotel

We booked the family rooms on the 5th and 6th floors and wow it was lovely and spacious for 2 people. Bathroom was huge and great lighting. Worth the money. Only downsides is that it’s not really in the centre although there are a few hotels on this road but nothing a 5min Uber into the town couldn’t fix. There were also building works and a lot of drilling in the mornings. However family friendly definitely worth the money as the hotel has an adult and a kids pool. I would stay here again :-)

The overall standard of the facilities was good. However I felt the dining facilities for evening meals was lacking.
Access to Metro and Rail was only a short disance away.

Overall with the outdoor swimming pool it was a great place to stay and relax.

We did not use the pool as we were pressed for time, however it appeared to be a quiet/small space.
Short Uber drive to the historic area. Shopping mall close by.
The zoo is close as well.

The room looked as if it was frozen in the 70s…. Very dirty carpet, chair was very dirty,
Hair in the bath, I had to tell my children to make sure they are not walking barefoot.
It was sooo tiny.
We were not informed that if parking in the basement we would be charged !! So were we 12 euros = 20$ Canadian
Anyway I just really don’t think it is worth a 4 Star hotel at all, maybe 2.5

The Hotel is very family orientated, the rooms are comfortable and clean. Location is outside town centre and a few stops on metro or 10-15 min by taxi, Ubers are easy to use and relatively cheap in Portugal. There are only 5/6 restaurants within walking distance. The pool is small and hotel is on flightpath of airport nearby. Breakfast has good selection and reasonably priced as kids are free but adults pay more.

2 very different experiences!

This is the 2nd time we stayed here. The 1st time we were put in one of the new rooms, this time we weren't so lucky. It was fine but quite tired. A shame to have such a different experience for the same price, it was a shame. The pool is also extremely cold! My daughter who usually loves a pool wouldn't go in!
