We booked a room specifically with a sea view and balcony (the balcony was mentioned on the Expedia website in the room details) and when we arrived, they gave us a small room with no balcony. The receptionist couldn't help us with a different room straight away that evening, but said she would speak to the manager in the morning. Expedia customer service also helped and called the hotel directly. The manager upgraded us to a sea view suite with balcony the following day, which made a huge difference to our experience and we were very appreciative.
I highly recommend that Expedia changes the information on their website, as they put the hotel in a difficult position.

Great location

The location and staff are great. I booked an oceanview room which was quite spacious and comfortable. The view from the room was of a wall. If you walked out on the deck you could see the ocean. This room was in the main hotel building and was quite private and quiet.

Overall a nice relaxing stay. However it felt like they allocated me one of their worst rooms in the ocean view category.

First time staying at this hotel. Have been coming to the sister hotel for many years but they didn’t have availability this time. We all agreed we now prefer the Uyal. Much friendlier relaxed atmosphere. The hotel was lovely, staff excellent. Our group stayed in rooms in both the annex and main building and everyone was very pleased. The rooftop terrace in the annex was great as was the area around the pool of the main hotel. Breakfast was great and plentiful. Only complaint was the coffee was terrible and the coffee machines broke down every day. But we would happily come back again.

Do not skip the mojitos, they were the best we've ever had thanks to Sebastien's recipe. The staff was all super friendly and helpful. Do consider doing half board so you get to enjoy the breakfast and dinner buffet. They offered great variety, used fresh ingredients, and every dish we sampled was absolutely delicious. Only downsides, the AC in the room didn't quite keep it as cold as I like, the cleaning products smelled too strong for my liking, and you had to snag a patio chair by 8am or not get one. Overall the value for the money was there and we'd stay at Hoposa Uyal again in a heartbeat.

We had a wonderful eight day stay at Hoposa Uyal in June 2024. Both the breakfast and the dinner buffets were varied with interesting and very well cooked and tasty menu options every day. The coffee from the hot drink machines at breakfast was delicious. The room was kept very clean every day, and the view from the frontal sea view room was wonderful, especially at sunrise. The staff were very friendly and courteous.

Our room has been new refurbished and was excellent. The staff at the Hotel are very friendly and helpful, especially Christina on Reception and Sebastian in the dining room. The Hotel is just over a quiet road from the beach. It is within easy walking time from the Town Centre and all the restaurants and bars. This Hotel is exceptional

Beautiful hotel. Wonderful location but 1 hour drive from the airport. Room was amazing (2 twin beds, partial sea view on balcony). Comfortable, spacious, suited our needs perfectly. Amazing bathroom and shower. Balcony was a nice addition, overlooks the pool. Beach is quick walk across a one way street. Great loungers and furniture around the pool area. Breakfast was delicious and offered a LARGE number of items. Friendly staff, easy check in/out, very helpful.

Fantastic Week at The Uyal

My Wife and I enjoyed another fantastic week at the Uyal. From our greeting at Reception to check out, the service was 1st class. All the staff are friendly and helpful. The breakfast is excellent, with a superb selection, cereals, fruit, breads, pastries, cooked breakfast, everything you could wish for. Our room had a balcony overlooking the beach. The Hotel is within easy walking distance of the shops and restaurants in the Town Centre. This hotel is superb 10 out of 10

Lovely hotel on the exterior with plenty of quiet places to enjoy a drink or lunch. Staff we encountered were all super nice.

About a 20 min walk to the Pinewalk, But to be honest you don’t need to go there as plenty of Great restaurants around you within minutes walk, and they of course have try harder than the ones in port which were nothing to write home about. The beach is directly over the very quiet road and is fantastic as well are the beach bars.

Only negative from me on hotel was the bedrooms which are basic and the beds uncomfortable. Bathroom and shower are fine. Plus we had a grumpy maid who kept leaving any plates we may have had brought up in our room. Didn’t really expect this from a Front sea view room. Also there was an annexe next door but cannot comment on that. We would stay there again, if anything for the relaxing outdoor facilities.

The Hotel allocated the smallest room to us and furthest from the site. We were charged .90 euro for a local phone call and 2.00 euro for a glass of ice. Seams a bit much when you are paying over $400 a night for a room

A short break

We were not in the old part of the hotel but in the new annex. The room was comfortable with an excellent shower. Breakfast was very good with fresh fruit cold meats and hot food also available. As the weather was quite cool we didn’t use the pool area. It’s also a 25 minute walk into the start of the Pine Walk but there are lots of restaurants in the vicinity. A very nice hotel but on balance we would now book nearer the Pine Walk.

A lovely stay in quiet, comfortable surroundings.

The room was very clean and maintained well every day. It would be nice to have milk/tea replenished. The annexe is very quiet at night and we slept very well. Breakfast was busy but plenty on offer. A more “welcoming” reception would be an idea.. comfy chairs/local info displayed and magazines/newspapers? The spa is quite small but the steam room/sauna was great. We would return.

The location of the main hotel was great, as were the amenities and the restaurant staff. Unfortunately, upon check in we realised that our partial ocean view room was in an adjacent building that was musty and dark, and the view was to the pool. To have some privacy, the thick dark curtains had to be drawn and the room became a very dark hole. Nowhere in the Expedia site said that we were paying for the other location. After much negotiation with the front desk staff, and our willingness to pay extra to be changed to the main building, we got a nicer room. There should be clear information about this, since the experiences in the two buildings are very different. The reception staff blames Expedia for the missinformation and the customer suffers the disappointment.

I recently stayed in the hotel for a few days and it was a very pleasant experience. Staff are professional and the hotel is in a nice quiet location. The best part for me was the outside space - comfortable seating and always plenty of space to find a lounger. The beach opposite is also very nice. I stayed in a single room as travelling solo. The room was very clean, comfortable single bed and great bathroom. It was very small which I expected for a single room, and had a small window which did not let in much light. I would definitely stay in this hotel again as everything else was good. But I would avoid this type of room if staying for more than a few days.

Truly a very special experience staying at the Uyal Hoposa Hotel. The staff were superb and could not do enough for you, the hotel was absolutely spotlessly clean throughout and the food very good and plentiful indeed.

Plenty of sunbeds to spare and very quiet and relaxing, just what you need for the perfect holiday. Also, the beach is just across the road and also kept very clean.

I can highly recommend this hotel and the team working there. Fantastic A+++++

The location of this hotel is excellent the views are lovely with the mountains as the backdrop I found it very peaceful there are some lovely bars and restaurants near by too and you can walk the whole bay easily . I wasn’t so keen on the buffet style meals as it can be a bit chaotic although the food was very good the pool and gardens are great with plenty of seating around also on my stay there was some great entertainment on every other night . Overall I thoroughly enjoyed my stay .

The hotel is an impressive stone and rendered structure with a more modern annex as shown on the photo which does not do the hotel justice. The staff could not do enough for you no matter how trivial or complex. The main hotel is a little dated but that's me being a little pedantic however the same cant be said about the external facilities a fantastic main swimming pool and further kids pool and small walk through pools, large beds surround the pools together with more than enough sunbeds and attending waiters to serve your every whim.

Enjoyed our stay at the Hotel Uyal however from my experiences of other 4* star hotels I would rate this hotel as being borderline 3/4*. The hotel has been updated in parts but not to a high standard and service wasn’t amazing, although some staff were friendly. Breakfast was nice with lots of choice. Only ate lunch once in the hotel as it wasn’t of a great standard for the price - we instead ate in the beach bar across the road which had similar options for similar prices but a lot better quality/standard. Pools weren’t very clean.

The Hotel rooms could do with more cupboards space especially bedside as most of the clientele are elderly and need handy room for their many Medical Prescriptions!

Meh. pass on hoposa

Not a fan of the Hoposa chain. The vibe is not great. Uyal hotel has a charm to it and is beach front. Pollensa is overpriced and a bit snooty .

This was our first stay at this hotel, I can honestly say that it was a really wonderful time. The staff worked really hard to ensure our time with the the hotel was memorable, food was plentiful and hot,acid test would I stay here again, a resounding yes.

Lovely hotel in great location. Room comfortable and very clean. Good choice of food at breakfast and dinner buffet but plates cleared far too quickly making us feel rushed.
Outside pool very cold so not used very much.
Good 15 minute walk to centre and five minutes to nearest bus stop.

Lovely Spanish hotel close to the beach

The location of this hotel is superb. Across the road from a beautiful sandy beach, where you can hire parasol and 2 loungers for the day. Great restaurants only 10 minute walk away along the well maintained promenade. We will definitely come back soon.

Lovely hotel opposite the beach

The staff are so friendly and helpful and our sea view room fab.
Food wise the starters and desserts are great. The main courses are mainly lovely but I can do without frozen veg mixes and once or twice the fish was a bit dried out.
But highly recommended overall.

Top Hotel on the beach

This was our second time at the Uyal. The room we had this time was slightly smaller which surprised me a little, but it still had all the essentials: air con fridge tv safe a balcony and a great shower. We had a side view so we could see the beach and the mountains.
The waiting staff at breakfast do an incredible job going about their work with humour and efficiency and the chef was an effervescent character.
The beach bar had moved from last years location to outside our hotel we were a little concerned that it may be noisy but we couldn't hear a thing and we even used it for late night cocktails. the local restaurants are excellent, and the local beach shop a Spar continues to delight us with the range and quality of goods on offer, fresh baguettes pastries cakes fresh fruit an extensive wine collection, spirits, beer and anything you want for the beach.
A trip to Old Alcudia is a must it still has the old town wall defence and a Roman excavation site as well as all the shops and restaurants you could ask for.
Porta Pollenca market is well worth a look (Wednesdays).
The Mellon Man is a fixture of the beach with his distinctive calls, fruit delivered to your sun lounger.
Meany improvements to the road, beach wall, cycle and foot paths have been made and some of the roads along the front have been closed to traffic at night.
All in all a delightful place to unwind and relax.
