Un hotel pequeño, lindo, sus áreas bien cuidadas, la zona de la alberca muy acogedora aunque cierran temprano a las 6:00pm, desayunos sencillos. La atención muy buena por parte del personal. Muy buena atención. Bien ubicado a 10 minutos de centro, 10 minutos de paseo Montejo. Ambos caminando desde el hotel. Estacionamiento del hotel a tres cuadras.

The employees were very courteous and polite, trying to help as much as they could. I was first told that because of my VIP status I could enjoy 2 breakfasts and a drink, only a few minutes later a different front desk employee told me that breakfast was NOT included. Obviously a little disappointing. Water temperature in shower kept fluctuating which was challenging. No safe in room or mini fridge. Only 2 bottles of water per day allowed.

Very nicely designed small hotel. Friendly and helpful staff. Comfortable bed. Convenient location on a side street. The one drawback is that the WiFi signal was weak, so that the TV usually did not work because it could not stream content. Also was unable to stream content on my personal devices.

The hotel is very modern but the surrounding buildings are dilapidated and un-leading to the eye.

The TV WiFi never worked no matter how many times I put in the code but I was not in the city to watch T.V.

A very surprising little gem in Merida

The hotel is quiet nice , great location walking distance to all restaurants and bars near La Plancha park, which is one of the newest attractions in the city. Loved the area and I wish I had stayed there longer, as we only stayed one night as we had a flight to catch

Stayed 4 days in January.

Positives:
Hotel is relatively new and located a few walkable blocks east of the main tourist areas.

Service from all the staff was friendly. They can prepare you a nice breakfast with eggs, bacon, fruit... for a little over $5.00.

Room had a reliable air conditioner, comfortable beds and strong shower. Lighting was good. No problems sleeping.

They have a sister hotel located downtown with a small pool which was a nice stop on a hot afternoon. They will give you a towel. You can order drinks and food there.

Negatives:

My room had no view just the neighboring wall. It was rather dark. There are rooms facing the street but I don't know what you would see or noise level on that side.

Design of some parts of room not ideal. The shower floor did not drain and left puddled water. The bathroom is separated from main room with a window wall that is very hard to clean apparently as the shade was noticeably grimy. Light switches awkwardly placed. Step up to bathroom is not well lit and a little dangerous. Not a lot of places to hang towels.

Overall, I was happy with my stay.

Nice walkable location that felt very safe

In my last review I complained about the noise from construction next door. Stated I loved the hotel & staff but the amount of noise was bothersome. Not only did the noise lessen staff upgraded us to a room that is amazingly quiet. I greatly appreciate them addressing the issue & fixing it quickly.

I highly recommend this hotel!

I like this hotel and planned on staying for 30 days however the daily construction noise is making me change my mind. Staff is great. The rooms are very nice. The only issue is there is hammering and drilling that starts at 9am and continues throughout the day with only a break at lunch. I was on the top floor and thought when I moved to the first floor I was getting away from the noise. Nope!!! It is 517pm right now and it is still going. Staff says it might stop at 6pm. We are not here for tourism but are in the midst of publishing several books and looked forward to a quiet spot to get work done.
Really nice hotel but I might need to find a new place to work sadly. I recommend it but only if you will be gone most of the daytime to avoid the noise.

Modern little hotel in the center of the city

The hotel is small but fairly new, I loved the long table with a lot of space to put your things, the bathroom has double sinks and it was very modern. The only issue was the water pressure was weird, suddenly spiking as you showered so that made the bath a bit unpleasant. The staff is super friendly and helpful. Another small issue is that there is not many convenience stores nearby so you better get stuff ahead of time or get it delivered. The streets around are also not particularly nice to walk around.

Room was very nice and clean. Staff is very kind helpful and friendly. High quality toiletries. Efficient AC. Would be nice to have a small fridge. Sometimes a little noisy during breakfast service. Would definitely stay again. Beautiful modern design. The huge tree in front was an excellent landmark for finding your way back to the Hotel. Only a few blocks away from Calle 47 a beautiful street with many restaurants to choose from.

La propiedad esta unicada cm a 10min caminando del centro turistico, el servicio es excelente, el estacionamiento queda como a 5min caminando. Los cuartos modernos y perfectos. La piscina estaba fuera de servicio por remodelación, brindaron opcion de ir caminando 10min a otro hotel. Recomendado!

We arrived at the Óntico Urban Design Hotel just after 11 PM, walked into the lobby, and found nobody on the property. We thought the desk clerk might be in the bathroom or down the hall, but nobody ever showed up. This was especially surprising because we had called the hotel a few hours earlier to say we missed our connection and would be arriving a few hours late, around 10:30 PM at the earliest. The gentleman who answered the phone told me he would wait for us, but he did not. Twice I called the hotel. I heard the phone ring in the hotel, but nobody answered. It just asked me to leave a message. We considered sleeping in the lobby but they only had chairs and we were worried what would happen to our luggage if someone walked in while we were asleep. After about 10 minutes I called Expedia support and explained the problem. They tried to contact the hotel, but also had no success. I then asked for Expedia to book the other hotel we had booked on Expedia but canceled. They said that hotel was not available, but after calling that hotel we learned they did have availability for 2 nights of our 6-night stay. We arranged to stay at the other hotel over the phone. Turns out the desk clerk left the property without notifying anyone or locking up. They offered to upgrade us to another property, but we already had a non-refundable room for the last 4 nights of our stay we booked on Expedia.

The staff was accommodating and allowed us to access our room early, and also booked our airport taxi for the next day. Only complaint on the room was that I don’t believe it has a safe or the typical mini fridge. Also, the shower drain backed up during my shower, so my wife took her shower in about two inches of undrained water unfortunately.

I really really appreciated the staff working at this hotel. They were kind, responsive, and hardworking.
The problem was with the facility itself. My partner and I had no water pressure and no hot water for pretty much our entire stay. Other reviews will confirm this. I felt bad for the staff since I could tell this was out of their control, so I direct my feedback to the owners of the property. They should be more proactive about the condition of this hotel. The amount of money paid does not match my experience at all.

Everything is perfect with the hotel, the only thing I believe they need to fix is the noise from the hydro pump that goes on and off continuously and it can wake you up at night (I was in room 201, I believe is not hear everywhere) but other than that loved it

This is a nice hotel for the price and in a reasonably nice location near center. Only at night felt a little uncomfortable coming from the more central area because the streets leading to hotel were deserted and not well lit. But this shouldnt distract from the hotel.
The first night it appears that there were bed bugs as we woke up with several itchy bites. I reported this to the front desk. I think they addressed the problem. We stayed 4 nights. The 2nd and 3rd nights were ok but on the 4 night experienced a couple more bite from the bed.

The service here is excellent. I arrived after curfew to the hotel due to multiple flight delays, and the gentleman at the front desk had my paperwork in hand when I walked in. the room was very spacious and well appointed. The bed was very comfortable.

Alejandrina ( I think that's her name) was awesome for allowing me late check out because I had a dentist appt uptown and wasn't sure what time I would return. I was only there for one night, so I couldn't take advantage of the day pass they offered for Piedra de agua hotel to use their pool and facilities. Upon check out, they encouraged constructive criticism so that they may improve which is unheard of at Merida hotels. I say this because I stay at multiple hotels during every visit.

the downside to this hotel, which I hope they will improve is the lighting in the bathroom is too dark. there are certain grooming tasks that require adequate lighting. there was no full length mirror or iron in the room.

No tiene estacionamiento pero te ofrecen una taifa preferencial en uno a un par de cuadras, fue fácil la llegada. El desayuno es básico y solo incluye un platillo y café o té, la fruta es a parte. El aire acondicionado funciona perfecto, aunque nos tocó una habitación donde al lado estaba la calle en un primer piso no hubo tanto ruido, la zona es tranquila. Cerca está la calle 47 donde hay un corredor gastronómico así y todo te queda cerca en auto, caminando llegas a Pase Montejo. En la fecha en la que me quedé a penas lo habían inaugurado y la parte del bar de la alberca aún no lo terminaban pero estaba en condiciones para usarse con unas sillas y mesas aunque no había servido de comida si te podían llevar bebidas del área del desayuno. En general está muy lindo el hotel y a gusto.
