Lovely quiet, spotlessly clean hotel. Easy to get to from main boat stop by line A bus. Friendly staff (apart from young lady lifeguard-rude)
Loved being away from the hassle of Venice itself but easy to get there as required. Will definitely be coming back loved it here.

Disappointing Stay.

Overall our stay was disappointing. The Hotel was rather run down, especially on the outside. The paint work is shabby and in disrepair. The grounds are unkempt and in need of attention. The balcony to our room was filthy, with matted human hair and scum on the floor which looked like it had been there for weeks and mildew and
peeling paint on the walls. Not a very pleasant area to spend any time in. The only upside, was the pleasant pool area and good breakfast.

We stayed for 3 nights, rooms are clean and tidy. The cleaning service is immaculate. Bathrooms are cleaned and to a good standard. the bus stops are close by and the public beach was also close by.
There isn’t much of a choice for the breakfast, however the food that is provided is enjoyable and tasty.
I would definitely recommend this hotel for the price it is definitely worth it!

Very nice hotel!

Staff very helpful, hotel was very clean. It was exactly as we had read about it. Others complain about things that are clearly stated on the website and booking sites. We wanted a few days to lie by the pool after a busy cruise from Venice so it was perfect. Breakfast was beautiful, we bought lunch from pool bar and then got the convenient bus to Lido town for dinner in the evening. €1.50 each, one way. Lots of Sun loungers around a very clean pool which wasn’t very busy. Lots used the beaches on the island but we didn’t. Could have got the bus to the town and the water taxi over to Venice each day, lots of travel packages for buses and trains etc. Would recommend this hotel!

The staff was very friendly, accommodated my friend's dietary needs, and was very prompt. Scandinavian-style room. I'd suggest a full-length mirror behind the door or somewhere else in the room since there was only one in the bathroom (over the sink). No plugs were available by the desk, and the ones on each side of the beds required pulling the night table away from the bedboard in order to be able to plug our electronics.

Al llegar el aire acondicionado no servia, lo reporte a la recepcion y me dijeron que lo podian prender solo hasta el 15 de mayo y pidiendo permiso al municipio por razones de control de emisiones, ante ese argumento pues me quede callado. El segundo problema es que pague por FREE POOL ACCESS y la piscina la abrian hasta el 15 de Mayo, osea cerrada pero cobran por el acceso. El tercer problema es que ofrecen traslados gratis a la Estacion de autobuses y cuando preguntas en recepcion, dicen que no es verdad a pesar de tener una hoja con esa informacion a la entrada del Hotel. Al final no me regresaron los 10 euros del acceso a la piscina, el cuento del aire acondicionado fue una mentira y lo solucionaron cuando les hice un drama en la recepcion, entonces mandaron a un tecnico y lo arreglo en 10min. Lo del traslado gratis no lo discuti mas.

We found tampon wrappers in bathroom garbage. Used bar of soap under sink. Comfortable but small bed(Europe we were not expecting large beds) room lacking in safe, refrigerator, drawers for clothes. Tips in curtains.

Great Place

The place is very accessible to public transportation. From 830-1030 there is a free shuttle the hotel offers their guests to and from the Water Bus stations which is great service!
The breakfast is good as well.
Rooms are clean and the guys ( a bit younger) who was at the registration when we arrived was so helpful and sketched a map of the popular places to see. That was awesome!
Otherwise, we were very satisfied!

This site does not accept a comprehensive review it just crashes and deletes your text.
In short, paid for the pool, pool closed for the entire stay, hotel excuses were rubbish, refused refund, invited to a meal at the restaurant as a gesture of goodwill, that was rubbish and we were given the bill upon check out ( cancelled in the end )
Grounds in poor state, breakfast not great , no fridge in room , Concrete blocks for chairs on a small balcony, generally shabby.

Above average, but not 5star. From Lido port it is a short bus ride to hotel @ 10 mins & €1:50. Bus stop 75m from hotel. In process of refurbishing and upgrading so would be unfair to comment on overall condition of hotel.
Brilliant pool. Only drawback (which you cannot do anything about) applies here and in Venice are the midges and mosquitoes!!!!!!
Would we stay here again. YES!
Plenty of restaurants down in Lido if you want a change from the hotel restaurant. Overall the staff are very helpful and informative. There is a free mini bus to take you to the port.

A lovely relaxing hotel

My wife and I spent 4 very enjoyable days at Ca’ del Moro. The staff were excellent and we had a very relaxing stay. Our main purpose in staying at the hotel was to use it as a base for days out in Venice, and it served our purpose very well. The hotel is part of a Sports Complex - mainly Tennis, and we enjoyed watching the players whilst we were sat on our terrace. In the evenings we ate in the restaurant where the food and staff were excellent. We would recommend the Ca’ del Moro.

They call it minimalist - we called it stark

From what I can gather Ca' del Moro is a set of 3 white concrete blocks of 3 floors of apartments. They use the old style \"concrete ship\" metaphor with portholes etc. It looks very tired and worn out. Do not stay on any floor other than 2nd floor. The other apartments look like shower rooms with beds in but the 2nd floor looks a bit more comforting but no carpets. The hotel uses the term \"minimalist\" - where as I would say bare & stark. There are sharp metal immovable seats with corners not recommended for little ones to injure themselves. The food is extremely basic and no hot option (just cold boiled eggs). Most of the signage is either STOP and DON'T so not very friendly. The pool was closed even though the sun was hot and after some complaining they decided to open the pool but NOT let you swim. We saw no connection messages about the health club. To be fair - it was end of season (22 deg) and I can sort of see that in the middle of a hot summer with loads of families and children running around then it might have some atmosphere despite facing a concrete mixing factory on one side and an abandoned swamp to the other.I expect they expect most people pay to use it as a B&B and head into Venice on their free shuttle bus each day - but we booked it for a beach /hotel holiday and it's unsuitable for that. Hazards include broken toilets, cracked sharp tiles, sharp metal appendages and wooden climbing frames which have splintered in the heat / salt. Sorry - very disappointed.

Great hotel but a little far from Venice

The hotel itself was great despite having no bar or dining facilities other than breakfast during my stay. It is not near any other bar/café or shops. Every facility is a bus ride away to the main village and Vaporetto /Boat port. It has an unreliable, small shuttle bus that runs from 8.30 - 10.30 am. Regular busses are frequent day and night but the main area is 15min away by bus. Didn't have chance to use great facilities. Very clean and beautifully quiet.

This hotel is a hot nasty mess. the staff members are horrible and racist. not many black people in Venice but their service overall was horrible check out all of the reviews not just the people who were paid to write a review, the rooms stink the towels stink the bathrooms are horrible the staff is just as gross as the rooms. stay somewhere else you will thank me later. i went to the store and grabbed some bleach and lysol to clean these nasty rooms we had. it was disgusting

pool was included in the hotel price but the pool was not open for summer season but there temp was 24 degrees but nothing was said in the booking.

we booked a double room and were given twin beds - were told it was expedia's fault and 'they' always do this.
they just put the 2 beds together and said it was the best they could do.
we asked for a double quilt to make the bed better instead of 2 single quilts but told there were none.

last day no wifi - was told it was not hotel's fault as work done outside.

i am not sure whether reception just told us an excuse to fob us off.

Nice hotel but slightly inconvenient location

Hotel was nice; staff were helpful, breakfast was fairly good and room was fine. Hotel was quite far from bars and restaurants on the island (especially since we were staying in October so it was very quiet and places were closed) but there was a regular easy bus service to the other end of the Lido.

We stayed at the end of their season so the pool was closed which wasn't made clear when we booked (looked very nice though but too much else to see so didnt matter at all) Breakfast was very nice. Very pleased with this hotel considering he bargain price that we paid. Would definitely recommend.

Definetly don't regret staying on lido at this lovely hotel. Everything just seemed nice and relaxed. The evening meal was delicious and the restaurant was romantic. Perfect for our little weekend away. Just under 4 miles from the water taxi station which is 3 euros on the bus

We enjoyed our stay at this hotel, a little further out from the centre of Lido than we expected. Get any of the buses to Malamocco, get off just after the fire station on right & passed the pharmacy on left, the hotel is then a short walk along the main road appears on left.
This hotel appealed because of the pool, but we never used it as during the first afternoon there & that evening we were bitten all over by mosquitos. We were unprepared for this, & it caused us much discomfort so we never went back there. But we know others who did & suffered no problems.

The staff were always accommodating and couldn't do enough for me and my partner. Hotel was clean, breakfast was always good and the pool was great and always clean. Great view from my balcony too. Overall this hotel was amazing for the price for the rooms. I would definitely recommend to everyone. The beds were the comfiest compared to previous hotels too.

Modern, clean and comfortable and good value, Great swimming pool and access to tennis if you want a change from sight seeing in Venice. Staying on Venice Lido added to the holiday - Vaparreto service very efficient. Only negative is that the hotel is a 15 - 20 min bus ride from the Lido port - but if you purchase a travel card (which you need anyway) the price of the bus is included, so not a major problem. Also, in the morning the hotel provides a shuttle service.

Bus stop to reach vaporetto less than 5min away. In the morning bus can be full and one might need to stand for the journey. But buses run about every 10min. The journey with the vaporetto to Venice was always lovely.
We had been looking forward to the outside swimming pool, but it was closed in October.
The hotel has an excellent coffee machine. There is a good variety of food for breakfast. We enjoyed especially the fruit and yoghurt. The quality of the rolls and croissants was disappointing.
All together we very much enjoyed ourselves.

Nice hotel but not as advertised

Overall a nice hotel, very clean, modern, but not as advertised! Takes an hour to walk to the beach (a few minutes to the coast but not to the beach which is advertised confusingly). The pool requires an additional fee of €8 per person per day (if budget price paid for the hotel) which is cheeky since you are not informed of this until after you have paid. A city tax is also added after your stay (€1.60 per person per day) which meant that our 'budget' stay at the hotel was much more expensive than it should have been.

Booked well in advance and couldn't believe the value for money you get with this place. The amenities are excellent (tennins courts, swimming pool, bar) and the location is great considering you will be lead to the Lido of Venice which was a really interesting discovery. Buying a WaterBus pass, you would take 10 minutes from the hotel to the harbour (the hotel has a free shuttle between 8.30-10-30 saving you the bus money) plus another 30 minutes in the ferry to S. Marco square. Would strongly recommend to anyone visiting Venice.

Arrived at the hotel in the afternoon,room allocated straight away by a very moody and irritated receptionist. The room was ok ,very clean ,air conditioning and safe free of charge. Free WI-FI everywhere around the complex which is a bonus because there is no English tv channels, the hotel was very Italian oriented as for the rest of us we were just a walking euro sign. The hotel restaurant and bar pfffff....the food was ok but again the staff very moody and arrogant the only time we have seen them smile was around the Italian guests . Also apart from the receptionist nobody could or want to speak English. every time you sat down for a drink they charge you 3 euros for service but you pay that everywhere in Venice. The hotel is situated quite far from the main resort about 20 minutes on the bus, there is nothing around the hotel so if you want a drink you either go to the hotel bar or wait until you get to the main resort. The pool area is nice but the actual pool is very dated and the water is freezing cold. The breakfast (continental) was included but the food was repetitive same thing every morning ,I must admit the croissants were absolutely delicious.
All in all we have not felt valued as customers.

Excellent base in the sweltering heat of summer

So glad I chose this hotel for our July break. The public transport (bus and boat) into the centre of Venice is quick and easy but it is also great to be able to escape the crowds and the heat in the middle of the day back at the hotel. The pool is very large and the air conditioning in the buildings is very effective and we slept extremely well despite the heat wave. The breakfast set us up well for the day, and in the evening there are plenty of restaurants on Lido or it is easy to go back over to the centre to eat.
Highly recommended (but be sure to chose the room rate with pool access if you want to use it).

Venice hotel with a pool

The hotel was clean and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The aircon was a godsend in July! The pool area was big with plenty of sunbeds even in peak season and very clean. The only downside is that you have to get a bus then a boat over to Venice. However, the buses run every 10 mins and all night long and there are plenty of restaurants and bars near the boat terminal. Good selection for breakfast. Overall would definitely recommend if you dont mind travelling into Venice.

secound time in Venice. A distance away from the water bus but if you get an unlimited pass you can also take the buses. bus stop really close to the hotel. I was travelling with family who are from the states and didn't have adaptors for charging cell phones etc. the hotel didn't have any in the room but a women at the desk lent us a USB charger that worked. staff was friendly and the pool was great.

A friendly, and excellent welcome at reception was almost forgotten on reaching the hotel room. Although very clean, the room lacked the little bit of comfort you would expect when on a city break. Standard items such as tea and coffee making facilities, a personal safe, a mirror in the main room/area would at least, have made this visit more comfortable for two people. The decor was very bland........not a picture/print in sight and the paint work in room, and on terrace in need of attention. The classic Italian marble tiled en-suite, was practical, but the shower head on arm, well used so would not stay upright during use. The hotel grounds, although offering excellent tennis facilities, and a fully functional swimming pool, were let down by other outside areas which were in need of tiding up, the grass had been cut, however on looking around you would have noticed that generally hedges and boarders looked as if the gardener had not tended them for a couple of months. The hotel dining area, and breakfast offered, whilst sufficient, were poorly presented, giving rather a canteen feel to the meal time.Overall the hotel did not reach it's full potential - to offer a very friendly, and comfortable, cosmopolitan accommodation.

Relaxing location

Nice and friendly staffs and very helpful. Just bear in mind, there is no fridge and kettle in the rooms in this hotel. Otherwise, that was nice hotel with great staffs.

Fab hotel .

The hotel is modern and clean with a lovely spacious room and ensuite The single beds were clean and very comfortable and the rooms are cleaned/tidied daily .. The staff at the hotel were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble .. we found this very helpful being in an unfamiliar country with different transport links .. they printed timetable out for local transport... They also extended our checkout for free as we was not flying till late on in the day which was really kind of them allowing us to get a shower before getting on the flight ....The only downfall was the breakfast which constantly run out and didn't have a lot to offer ... . I would definitely reacommend this hotel and will be back ... *****

Modern hotel in quiet part of Venice Lido

We were welcomed by the gentlemen on Reception and told that we could pay the local tax at the time of departure but that they'd prefer cash. We were given a large map of Venice and advice about how to reach the port for the vapaetto to 'mainland' Venice.
The room with twin beds was in a separate building. It was very clean and quiet so we slept well. The bathroom had a washbasin, bidet, lavatory and shower cubicle, with plenty of hot water.
We went in April so the pool wasn't open. We travelled by Ryanair so didn't have tennis racquets with us. .
The distance from the port could have been awkward but we bought a 7-day ticket for the vaparetti and land buses - a bargain at 60 euros (normally 7 euros per journey.) The courtesy bus was handy, particularly when returning home with suitcases.

Wonderful weekend break

We had a wonderful experience at this hotel.
We arrived quite late on a Friday night on to lido, quickly found the bus stop and took the 'A' bus (as advised on the hotel website). The bus driver stopped a bit away from the hotel but pointed us in the right direction and we were soon there. If you do take the bus, get off at the 4/5 via malamocco stop, cross the road and continue in the same direction as the bus was and you'll be at the hotel in about a minute.

We arrived late, past 11 o'clock but there was an exceedingly helpful member of staff on the desk who welcomed us, gave us our room key and gave us directions to the room.

The room was spotless, light and had all the amenities that you could wish for (except the only plug socket was behind a rather heavy wardrobe). The balcony was an unexpected bonus.

Breakfast was simple but sufficient. cereals, breads, pastries, fruit, meats, cheeses and yoghurt were all out to choose from. juice, water, a coffee machine and a selection of teas were also provided.

Another bonus was the free shuttle minibus that took 8 passengers per journey directly to the waterbus station. there was also a vending machine in the hotel block we stayed in which came in useful when we wanted refreshment upon our late arrival.

Check out was quick and simple, be aware that you pay a VERY small tax per night.

Great Hotel on the Lido

I was only there for a short weekend but the two nights were excellent, beds were comfortable and the rooms were clean, Staff were very helpful and spoke excellent english, the breakfast was adequate with enough food but not a wide selection of foods. Overall a very good Hotel.

The only place to stay to see Venice

The hotel staff is fabulous. The tennis club restaurant is also quite good and affordable dining. The pool is super!!!! Overall I can only recommend this hotel warmly. It can easily reached by ferry. Bring your car if you want (27 Euro one way with two people). There is free parking and could prove the most economical to get around. Venice is in easy reach via water bus 7Euro return pp.
Only a minor suggestion: tea/coffee making facility and a small fridge in the room would be nice.

Great stay

I had a great stay at Ca' Del Moro. The hotel is a bit distant from the boat service, but so well served by public transport day and night and I didn't mind the location. The staff at the reception is very friendly and helpful. The hotel is comfortable and clean. Just missing the wifi. Definitely I would stay again and I recommend the hotel.

Best of both worlds

This hotel was exactly what I wanted - a peaceful contrast to the buzz of Venice. Rooms are fine and comfortable. Breakfast is not interesting but useful in an expensive city. The sports facilities are brilliant, particularly the pool - exactly what I wanted. And the restaurant is simple but good - great staff, very attentive, and good food. This was a brilliant choice - just what I was looking for and I would definitely recommend it for couples or families or individuals who enjoy a little peace after a day amongst the crowds of Venice. Lovely!

Nice little place

The room itself was a nice place to sleep. The breakfast was nice- typical European breakfast. Included bread, croissants, juice, fruit, and even some cereal. There is no internet. They gave us all codes but after trying it the front desk told us there was only enough for 12 devices total. It is very out of the way from everything in Venice. On the other side of lido so it takes awhile to get there. Also, the shuttle only goes until 10 and is limited to a few passengers so leave early if you want a ride.

Lovely hotel and good value for money

Staff were extremely helpful and pleasant on arrival - and throughout our visit. Grounds were quite extensive and general facilities were well organised to provide a nice relaxed environment. The swimming pool was rarely crowded, even during peak hours. The bar by the swimming pool was open for light refreshments for most of the day and full meals in the evenings. Breakfast was well stocked every morning and provided a decent choice of items - although coffee machines could be improved. Rooms were cleaned every day and new bed linen and towels were provided. Rooms could do with independent tea/coffee making facilities.

We found the location very convenient. After buying a travel card for a week, we found that getting to various places in Venice was quite straightforward due to regular and frequent buses and water transport - which seemed to run 24/7. After the hustle and bustle of Venice, it was nice to return to the peace and tranquility of the hotel and enjoy a coffee at the bar while the children played in the pool.

The rooms seemed ok, but the shower had mole in it and the terrace was not cleaned. The breakfast was very simple. The vending machines only took coins and there were no changing machines. The straff wouldnt change either. We didnt get bottled water one evening. The fitnessroom was occupied by lokals and we did not feel welcome. The pool area was dirty and it needed alot of work. The hotel did not owe the tennis courts and we payed 25 € to rent for one hour. The Hotel Ca del Moro had an overall low cost feel to it. The pictures and discription did not add up.

Suitable for those who prefer a quite stay

Suitable for budget travellers. €50 a night at Venice/ Lido Venice is worth the pricetag. Hotel needs a bigger signboard with well. I had trouble spotting the hotel from the bus. Insufficient information on the page. The hotel is 100 metres away from the nearest busstop via malamocco 4/5.

Room is spacious but doesn't provide tea making facilities. Not friendly with families with kids or those who prefer enjoying a cup of tea in the room. Water pressure in the shower is great but hot/ cold temperature control needs improvement.

Breakfast is only croissant and some biscuits. No hot breakfast option. Coffee is self service from dispenser and it's horrible.

Perfect for an unpleasant & uncomfortable stay!

On arrival there were wet, dirty towels in our hotel room
The staff were incredibly rude during every interaction - the worst was being told 'you must leave' by a man teaching a children's swimming lesson in the only pool. As paying customers we did not expect to be thrown out of the pool so that 20 screaming children could have a swimming lesson! This happened on two of the three days that we stayed by the pool. After the man told us to leave I let reception know how unhappy I was about this - they couldn't have cared less.
The facilities are incredibly basic. The balcony TINY.
Considering the hotel is in the middle of nowhere you'd think they would provide some form of room service, or even a bar in the reception but there's nothing except the pool restaurant that closes at 10pm.
The staff at the pool like shouting at people. \"Take off your shoes\" the second you walk into the pool area. \"You can't eat that here!\" at a child with an ice cream. The staff are also constantly tidying up the chairs and stalking around, generally making it impossible to relax.
I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone.

this hotel is fantastic

reaching this hotel from airport is in itself magical experience, as moment you leave airport, there is alilaguna boat service, which provides boat service to reach lido station. so its magical to reach your hotel destination by boat. thereafter you reach the hotel, and you feel great, as it provides all the comforts as are expected from a good hotel, like infrastructure, cleanliness, airconditioner, good beds, bedsheets, television etc. the good part of this hotel which you may not find in other hotels, it is 2 minutes from beach, walking distance, then it has maximum green area, as the hotel has tennis courts. more like sports complex, so lots of greenery. overall a very good experience, which you may not find in st. zakaria, or san marco station hotels at all.

A few tweeks would have made a lot of difference.

Very nice hotel. Friendly and helpful staff.

A kettle and small fridge in the room would have made it perfect for me. Missed my cuppa on waking. Very British I know but would have meant a lot.

Staff very helpful but no information leaflets etc. Although they did have the answers when questioned about things.
They did give out a basic map on arrival and explained about transport.

Pool lovely.

Restaurant food good and not too expensive.

I would stay here again.

DO NOT PAY OVER £40 PER NIGHT FOR THIS HOTEL

1. The rooms are small. The ones shown on the internet are for 4 people not 2. The rooms for 2 are very small and would be considered a single in England.

2. The breakfast is very very limited ie rolls, museli, cheese, cheap ham, croissant if you were lucky - if they had run out tough. coffee from a machine. Breakfast is from 730 am to 930 am but the staff start to clean up the tables at 845am so be QUICK!!!!

3. Late arrival ie after 1030 pm there are no facilities for tea or coffee or a snack and nothing is left in the room for you so tough! (there is a vending machine so you could have a bar of chocolate or a bag of crisps)

4. The rooms are cleaned to a high standard and there are lovely clean towels

5. The pools in great but take your own beach/pool towels or you will be charged.

6. The hotel bar/restaurant does a variety of food which is quite good- salads were excellent.

7. If you get the hotel for £40 per night you cannot complain if you pay more than that you will feel ripped off. It is a bit like a Travel Lodge but the breakfast is not as good.

Modern hotel bus ride to centre

We stayed half term week and got a good deal because it's not cheap in Venice or the Lido. Staff v friendly and good facilities. Bus ride to town is on once you purchase a pass which is pretty good value. Lovely pool and room spacious and clean for all four of us.
