This was probably the nicest hotel we’ve ever stayed in! I will break it down 4 in a bed style:

Hosts: Were phenomenal! Nothing was too much for them. Friendly and courteous, efficient, kind and caring and all round fantastic!

Facilities: we stayed in a suite, upgraded (for free!) to a lagoon view! It was perfectly equipped with everything you could need. The bathroom was beautiful, lovely shower, bidet, and plenty of toiletries and amenity kits. The lounge area was splendid, with a huge bed in the bedroom! There was a little kitchenette, which required an additional charge for use of the hob, but the kettle/hot drinks were free, as were the minibar!! The view out of the windows was gorgeous.
We were a minute or so’s walk from the bus(boat) terminal to the main island, and a 10 minute walk to the beach. The restaurant at the hotel wasn’t open for us as it was the low season, but we were directed to many lovely restaurants on the main strip of Lido!

Cleanliness: The entire place was spotless! Not a single bit of dirt, dust, hairs or anything out of the ordinary - it was exemplary!

Sleep quality: we both slept like logs! There was no noise disturbance from the street, and we weren’t kept up with any noise from the boats. The bed was very comfy, and we could manage the room temperature nicely.

Breakfast: A stand out of the trip! A huge selection! We had bacon and eggs, croissants, breads, dried and fresh fruit, more jams and condiments than you could count! Alongside there

Great location

The water taxi trip across the lagoon is rewarded by a hotel situated in a great location. Visited by many stars during the film festival, it retains an old world granduer which is highlighted by many pictures adorning the walls, of these stars, both old and new. We had the garden villa, which is spacious and affords terrific views back across the lagoon towards St Marks. The interior and exterior restaurants offer the very same view. We did not eat at the hotel, choosing central Venice instead, but the restaurant comes highly recommended. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the breakfast buffet was plentiful. There are some small areas where modernisation could be undertaken, but overall the property is charming. Take mosquito spray if using the garden or garden restaurant. Great base with easy access to Venice central. Recommended.

Epic trip to venice

I booked a ground floor room with a garden. Prior to the 3 night stay I had stayed in a Eurocamp in the area to give the kids a bit of a beach holiday.

What was bad...
Room needed a little TLC, but I get it there is a 15 or so rooms in the hotel and putting one out of action to decorate is a revenue hit.

I saw some poor reviews about the food. In all fairness I have had better. But the choice is more than you would expect from a hotel of this size.

What was good
The staff were fantastic. The front desk helpful and helped us out when we arrived well before checkin. They looked after out kit in their office as the main storage area was packed. Took us through everthing we needed to know and more. They even packed us a breakfast as we checked out at 5.45am.

The location of the hotel.. superb. minutes walk away from the water bus. Which gave us easy access to venice and made it super easy to get a waterbus to the airport with the kids and bags.

The view from the room. Wow, straight across the lagoon into venice. You could not get a better one of the city. We drank it in every night whilst watching the sun set.

Would I go back, oh yes.

What a great decision to book at Villa Laguna! The staff are great and helped arrange the water taxi to get our group and their bags to and from the property’s private dock with no problems. We used the water bus to get to and from other Venice islands — we started to feel like locals! Loved escaping the hassle of St Marks to this beautiful oasis. View is amazing. Breakfast is great. Good variety. Food is good. Sitting on the patio looking across the Lagoon -priceless! Rooms are dated -bed hard-but big enough and clean. Lots of restaurants with walking distance. Would love to stay here again

Good location, if you get the waterbus ticket for 24/48 hours you can just hop on and off whenever and to any location.
It is around €9 euros from the rialto to lido on the waterbus and if you are heading back to the airport you will need to get the waterbus aligiaro not the ACTV.
It is easy enough about an hour journey and the platform is by the other Lido water platforms.
Make sure you pre book a ticket or you can’t get on the waterbus to the airport as they check both ways. The ticket machine didn’t work for us so we had to do it online.
The hotel were very kind and left us a breakfast bag as we left around 6am! The view from the restaurant is amazing and the breakfast options are premium.
We had refills of tea bags and milk when asked at reception too.

Everything positive apart from the bed comfort

This is a very nice hotel and we enjoyed our stay apart from one important thing: the bed was very hard with partially broken springs which made sleeping very difficult. We had to resort to putting 2 quilts under the sheet in order to manage to sleep at all. Mattress desperately in need of replacing!

Everything else was great: spacious well appointed suite (with 2 working safes and wardrobes and good air conditioning), lovely breakfast with good and friendly service and wonderful views over to Venice. The location was super convenient being so close to the Lido vaporetto stop (we got the 3 day vaporetto pass and were able to have full days and nights out and get back to the room for an afternoon rest or late at night very easily). Also on top of all the restaurants, shops and bars of Lido and direct walk to the beach. Reception staff were helpful, we had a late night check-in and had our cases kept for us for quite a few hours after check-in no problem. Didn’t try the bar/restaurant as we were too busy exploring Venice! Excellent cleaning service, room cleaned every day.

Reception staff, headed by Chiara fantastic. Some bar, restaurant and kitchen staff ill tempered and very rude.
On our first day we asked about vegetarian dishes. The menu showed one pasta dish or salad which was for starter and main course. We asked if any other dishes could be prepared and told ‘no’ this is a fish restaurant! We ate elsewhere and when we came back the restaurant was empty of customers. Such a pity.
Next day we arrived for breakfast 30 mins before close to be told no cheese left as the chef only gave them one tray of cheese. After we insisted they prepare more we heard the restaurant staff member being blasted by the chef. This explains some excellent ratings and some poor ratings for this hotel. Not what you expect from a 4* hotel and not the relaxing break we’d looked forward to.

The only good thing about this Hotel is the only nice guy who works at night... the rest... rude staff, old and bad condition of the hotel and really bad breakfast!!

I had the most AMAZING stay at the Villa Laguna!!!! It is a gorgeous hotel with the most gorgeous view of the lagoon! I sat for hours reading my book on their beautiful patio! The front desk staff Chiaia n Stephanie were incredibly helpful, and their customer service was outstanding! And the owner of the hotel was incredible n his sincerity to assist w local information was genuine. I cannot wait to return to this beautiful hotel on Lido!

The location is besutiful, the staff is really helpful and nice. They packed breasfast for us the days we could'nt wait due to tours schedules. The barhroom is small but the others positives things compensate for it.
We love it the area and closeness to the boat stations. The boats are expensive if you plan to leave the island daily so the best choise is to buy the weekly pass.

Beautiful property with amazing views, location is perfect to walk to the beaches, restaurants, and quick trip to Venice. Me and my family with small children had a great trip here. Small property so may not have all the amenities of a large hotel but perfect location and great breakfast included. The staff and owner of the hotel took great care of us when we arrived. Our luggage got lost but they made us feel very welcome and quickly provided us some food to eat, even though the kitchen was closed. Highly recommend.

The hotel’s location is absolutely perfect! It is steps from the water taxi dock, and a 10 minute boat ride to Venice. The breakfast had a good variety of delicious food. The room was clean with a comfortable bed. The bathroom had some mold in the corners of the shower, but overall it was very clean. The staff were super helpful and kind.

Loved this location, with the stunning view across the lagoon to the city of Venice. The room was clean and bathroom although small was more than adequate if a little quirky. Bit of an issue with the regulation of the hot/cold water in the shower but we coped. We had asked for twin beds but ended up with a double bed in one room and a double bed settee set up in the 'sitting' area which suited my sister and I but did leave space and sitting area limited . The view from the room definitely made up for it. Breakfast was lovely with good selection of fresh items. All staff were welcoming, friendly and happy to help. The location is ideal for the water buses and I would definitely recommend the 3 day ticket for getting back and forward to the city and islands. Excellent service and easy to use. Loved it so much we will definitely be back and wouldn't hesitate to stay at this hotel again.

Excellent location on Venice Lido, next to waterbus terminal. Decor is a bit dated but still comfortable accommodation. Only stayed for one night and unfortunate that restaurant and bar were closed due to private party as the views of Venice at sunset would have been great from there.

This hotel was such a lovely surprise, just 100 metres from the waterbus stop on Lido. We booked a garden view and that is exactly what we got. A one bedroom (with sofa bed in the lounge) apartment with a patio and small garden overlooking the Lido. A perfect place to sit and relax and watch the beautiful sunset. On our first day the view was so amazing with the Alps in the distance. The staff there were lovely and welcoming, the breakfast was great, all the food was fresh and lots of choice. We would definitely consider a return visit. Thank you

We stayed for 4 nights.

The staff are friendly, helpful and attentive. Breakfast was great, with lots of choice. We had a slight misfortune with the bathroom, as the toilet wouldn't stop flushing, but the staff fixed it quickly. The bedroom appeared to need a little updating, as the decor was rather tired, and some of it was not quite what I would expect for the price. However, the location, the view, the comfort, the staff and the breakfasts were lovely. We enjoyed our stay. The hotel is very handy for some excellent restaurants in the area (we didn't try the hotel's restaurant, apart from breakfast, so can't comment on that).

Nice to sit in the bar area at the end of a day's walking around Venice, have a drink and admire the view. Wonderful.

Wasn’t to sure after reading other reviews not to stay on the lido we are very pleased we did we had the best of both worlds.
Water bus system is brilliant and by far the best way to get to see everything . We had three days and we saw everything without rushing around.The fisherman’s island at Burano is so quant and the locals are all so friendly when you go by there houses . Just wished we’d seen all the fish coming in .

Everything about the hotel was excellent, from the initial warm welcome with the receptionist’s personal escort and explanation of our splendid suite, to the restaurant staff and smiley helpful cleaner.
Rooms are immaculately maintained; the restaurant offers fine food with top waiters.
Our rooms had panoramic views across the lagoon to Venice. The vaparetto stop is a 2 minute walk (worth noting that there was no problem with noise from the vaparetti.
The hotel and area in general is quiet. There is a good shopping and “ passeo” street close by.
We would happily return here - an excellent venue

Best of both worlds

Staying at Villa Laguna is magical. Venice is just a 10 minute water taxi ride away across the lagoon, and a long sandy beach is just a 10 minute walk away. This location shows you the frantic delights of Venice glinting in the sunshine at breakfast and a relax on the beach by the afternoon or a beach party in the evening... perfect for families and couples. The hotel has 20 suites, all with lounges with sofa beds, so effectively two bedrooms for the price of one! Ours also had a small kitchen. The staff were very friendly, the breakfast was lovely ( no bacon and fried eggs, but a full continental selection) and the chance to sit on sun loungers in peace and look at Venice across the lagoon. Water taxis are a quick way to get to San Marco, but water buses are much cheaper and run very frequently. The water bus stop is just next door to the hotel. All in all the perfect location to both be busy and relaxed in the same holiday.

Wonderful small hotel on Lido.

This is our favorite hotel in Venice. We have stayed here 5 or 6 times in our visits to Venice. Lido is very nice and it does take more time and effort to get there. The hotel's restaurant is excellent. The staff is outstanding. View from restaurant across laguna is memorable..

Fantastic Hotel

This was my second stay at his hotel, and I had a different room the second time. Their rooms are wonderful; they don't feel/look like your usual hotel rooms but are much more agreeable/natural/normal to being at home. In both rooms, the living room and bedroom were separate, and there was a kitchenette available. Everything worked great. Great views from several windows overlooking the lagoon toward the main islands of Venice. The desk clerk was very kind and helpful. I'll be back to this hotel.

The hotel is close the public transportation, making it very easy to visit the main attractions in Venice. The room is a little bit old, but comfortable. The lift need maintenance immediately, it is hard to trust it.
