Nicely located across from the beach with a short walk to the beach access walk. Nice are with a combo of hotels and residential housing. Bus is easily accessible and run 24 hours . The hotel itself is just okay. The rooms are spacious and look nice with updated furniture but old uncomfortable mattresses and hard old pillows. We had several other issues with the room that were brought to the attention of the staff, but they were never resolved. The in room safe was just a safe box not secured to anything allowing anyone to walk away with it. The shower door was broken and would only slide open halfway before falling off, so all of our showers were squeezing through the half opened door. The bathroom also had a ceiling light fixture just hanging from wires. It worked fine, but just not properly installed. Our biggest problem was with the heating and cooling system. Visiting in October they apparently turn off the cooling and only allow heating. The hotel itself has the heat blasting so the hallways are very warm. Luckily we had a nice small balcony with doors to allow fresh air in. Unfortunately it also let in the mosquitoes as there are no screens. The breakfast was basic with scrambled eggs that were only hot if you arrived early, a few pastries, cereals, juices, breads and jams and a coffee machine. The coffee machine was the best part with a good variety. This might be a nicer hotel experience during peak season, but I definitely will not be returning.

I recommend it for people on a budget, it’s an easy water-bus ride to San Marco etc. from Lido but about a 30min walk to Lido station but there is a bus stop nearby to the hotel to get you to Lido station.
Staff were helpful when asked questions but could’ve been more friendly.

Value for money, the staff were lovely and very helpful. Breakfast was good, continental options. Rooms are clean and spacious, basic amenities and perfect for a short cheap stay at Lido. Easy to find from the bus stop (Bus A) runs every 10 mins until 11.45pm. Would recommend if you’re planning on being out all day exploring.

Great trip to Venice

We had one of lower floor rooms, recently renovated offered modern, clean accommodation with patio, which we didn’t expect. Bathroom was new modern with great shower! Room was basic, but perfectly sufficient - bright, clean, spacious with good beds (no sofa beds)!
Hotel staff could have been more forthcoming with information - for example - Sunday bus service is limited, the usual V line does not operate on Sunday. Website have very little information on how to get to hotel, which made it tricky to work out first time with all suitcases after long travel and it could be very easily rectified.
Otherwise great value! All staff was friendly. We would stay again.

We had a fantastic time, the hotel was lovely & the staff amazing and helpful.
I slipped in the shower though which has left me in a lot of pain. I recommend a sign for warning to warm people. Once 4 people shower, the bathroom becomes incredibly slippery.

Hotel Rivamare is hands down the most pleasant experience I have ever had staying with a hotel! The staff were thoughtful, accommodating and resourceful. The property is pleasant, refined yet not opulent, and well appointed by the beach. For those who enjoy a quiet, refreshing stay in a calm yet well-appointed part of Venice, Hotel Rivamare will not disappoint!

Charming - Old Style Hotel

We found our room with two tiny beds uncomfortable so be had Hotels.com move us across the street. We should have just checked with hotel management as they would have moved us to a better room. The hotel is charming in the lobby and breakfast area. The location is by quiet and beautiful beachs. If you like charm and not modern this would be a great place to stay.

Good location, but really 2 star hotel

I stayed here for a business conference in Lido. My wife and daughter accompanied me. The hotel is right next to the beach (just across the st) and so is very convenient. It is not, however, near a great deal of night life, shops or restaurants (Lido is a quiet Island). My wife commented that it was not a great place to stay - lacked all the attractions of Italian cities.

Venice and Murano are near by - but they are really day trips, as it takes 30+min to get from the hotel to the boat station to those islands. Not a quick \"run into town\".

It is rated 3 starts because they offer \"spa\" services, such as reiki, yoga, etc. Their literature even states that they obtained a 3 star rating because of this. I have no idea where the \"spa\" is other than perhaps in a back room or somewhere else in Lido.

The hotel is a basic 2 star European hotel. The staff is friendly, but it run old school. Your receipt will be hand written in a little book and just list the total you will need. Not all credit cards are taken. The room is decent and clean, but not particularly comfortable. Breakfast is basic. No other amenities are available.

Overall I thought it was a nice 2 start hotel, but priced like a 3 star in a resort down, which lowered my rating.

I'm very torn about this hotel. I'll give it an overall neutral rating, I guess, but the good things were great and the bad things were really annoying. Figure out what's important to you and decide based on that. The following things were GREAT: quality of breakfast buffet (really amazing), friendliness of morning staff (owner and family?), location (across the street from beach, Lido), free wifi, beach towels. On the other hand, our room wasn't ready as requested (I even called from the states about it - 4 single beds in \"family room\") when we checked in and despite the promise to fix it, it still wasn't ready by the time we were back, tired and exhausted, in the evening. I ended up having to beg the not very helpful/friendly night clerk for extra sheets so we could separate the beds ourselves. However, we were offered a different room the next day by the much friendlier day staff, but didn't want to move at that point. Never got the 4th blanket we asked for. Room was very small for 4 people, but that's Europe for you. I was happy to be allowed 4 in a room. The overall condition of the hotel is not quite as good as I expected. I believe it to be clean, but there are cracks in walls and other signs of wear. It was nice to come \"home\" to Lido, a quieter beach community with more \"natives\" and less tourists, but getting there takes both boat and bus. Overall, the price and value probably match, but it could have been better if the staff just had been more reliably helpful.

Always great.

We've stayed here on several occasions and everytime it gets better. The fact that it is a few yardsfrom the beach and Adriatic while within easy walking distance of suburban shops, restaurants and the vaporetto station for the short distance to the main Venetian attractions and islands, is ideal. The location has everything within a genuinely Italian area!
The hotel is peaceful, quiet with first class family management and staff - nothing is too much trouble for them. Rooms are clean and well serviced. Breakfasts consist of extensive cold buffets with homemade bread and cakes.
We love the Rivamare and look forward to our next visit.

Helpful staff, but tired facilities.

Didn't match the photographs and website. It's across the road and behind another hotel from the beach. We stayed there for two separate nights. The first night we had a room with a rickety bunk bed for our two children. The second night we had a better, bigger room with two separate beds and a refurbished bathroom. It is much more run down than information suppplied suggests.The buffet breakfast was good and the owners were very helpful, especially in relation to our early arrival due to transport arrangements.

Hotel Rivamare - very, very close to the beach

Me and my boyfriend visited Venice for a city break.

We found that Rivamare was the perfect combination of beach and city. The hotel is situated right on Lido beach (in October, beach was virtually empty but it was still warm enough to swim and sunbathe) in a relatively quiet residential neighbourhood. A 20 minute walk on the beach or through town brings you right by the waterbuses with various lines running into central Venice frequently. You can also take the local bus which takes about 5 mins but we really enjoyed the long walks on the beach! Incredibly easy to get to and from the airport (Marco Polo) with a speedboat service stopping on Lido.

The room was clean and, by Italian standards, served a great breakfast which actually filled you up for the day (I was expecting a croissant and a cup of coffee so was surprised to see the all-you-can-eat buffet of bread, yoghurt, cereals, boilt eggs, juice, coffee, tea, pasties, sweets etc).

Staff were very friendly, positive and helpful.

Only drawback were the beds that weren't that comfortable (much too hard)

In sum, highly recommended!

Only cheap hotel neat a public beach?

Spent a long time looking for hotels and decided on this one based on value and facilities and discovered that it was 100m from one of only 2 public beaches on Lido. You are not allowed to sunbathe sit or lie on any other beaches! Great continetal breakfast.
Small terrace area next to the road, room was big enough and the bathrom was large and clean.
Would highly recomend this hotel, even the staff were friendly
Just remember you are staying here because it is cheap so don't expect the Danelie!

Rivamare is a small, quiet hotel very close to some much grander establishments. Our room was clean, with a good bathroom and a balcony looking out over the Venice Tennis Club – very pleasant. The beach is a short walk away. A (slow) computer in the lobby offers internet at Euros 2.50 for 30 minutes – good luck finding the ‘@’ key!

We have stayed here a total of six weeks since Easter 2009 - this speaks volumes for one of the very best holiday hotels we have experienced.
The hotel is family-owned and run by the nicest of people. At the time of the plane groundings, they were exceptionally good to us. Friendliness, cleanliness and a first class cold buffet breakfast stand out.
The hotel is situated on the Venice Lido, is less busy and more \"local\" than the \"mainland\", like living among real Italians. St Mark's (Venice's hub) is about 15 minutes away by boat. Also, immediately opposite the hotel is the beach which has the usual facilities and is a great attraction to Italian and tourists generally.
We have no hesitation in recommending this excellent hotel for both short breaks and longer holidays.

Good stay on a budget

We were traveling on a budget and staying on the main island in Venice was out of the question. We were able to navigate back and forth from Rivamare to the main attractions fairly easily. If you are staying for a very short time, you may want to stay closer. From leaving the hotel to getting to St. Mark's Square, it probably took about 45 minutes, including time waiting for a bus on Lido and the water but from Lido to the main island. It met our purposes. Rooms were very basic but clean. Walls were a little thin.

The family room was perfect with one double bed and two single beds.
The most valuable part of the stay was the people who worked at the breakfast. They really took care of the guests and the breakfast area like it was their own home and family. It was a food breakfast where they served bread, eggs, cheese, charcuteries, fresh fruit, yoghurt, juice, etc. They made great coffee for you and served at the table. A really memorable experience. Thank you!

Hotel ist etwas in die Jahre gekommen. Allerdings wissen wir auf was wir jns einlassen. Waren öfter dort. Für ein paar Tage okay. Mit dem Zimmer hatten wir glück. Mit Terrasse und Fenster im Bad. Leider ist die Stand-Bye Leuchte des TV sehr hell und nachts störend. Am Bett gibt es keine Steckdosen. Wenn man früh abreist, könnten nicht nur dieses, sondern viele Hotels auf einen Kaffee, Snack bzw. Lunchpaket hinweisen. Geht meist unter, obwohl dad Frühstück mit beinhaltet ist.

The hotel is very old and dirty. The room we were offered was in the basement which is very wet. The wooden floor was already unsticked from the ground. When we walk on it, we feel like that we were walking on the water (quite “nature” as Venice is full of water😉). Breakfast was not good, but okay.

In the website of the hotel, it clime that it has free parking. But actually the guests like us have to find a free place in a public street which was very risky.

Alt i alt et rart ophold. Personalet var flinkt og imødekommende. Værelset var helt fint til prisen. Morgenmaden var af god standard i Italiens sammenhæng, tror jeg. I Danmark, hvor vi kommer fra, ville man nok forvente mere, men vi var tilfredse.
Utroligt tæt på stranden.
20-25 minutters gang fra bådterminalen. Det var en smule langt, men dog ikke noget, der gjorde alverden. Det var en dejlig ø at være på, og jeg kan godt anbefale det, fremfor at bo inde i selve Venedig.

Nous avons passé 3 nuits dans cet hôtel en famille. Il est en face du principal hôtel Excelsior et qui le sépare de la plage côté mer Adriatique.
L hôtel est propre, et le personnel très accueillant, néanmoins dans notre chambre les huisseries était tellement tordues qu'elles laissaient passer vraiment beaucoup d'air et qui ne filtraient pas le bruit extérieur.

Il faut compter 5mn en taxi pour venir du quai du vaporeto, sinon bus ou 20-25mn de marche à pied. Possibilité de louer des vélos.

Le vaporeto vous amène à San Marco en 10-15mn.
L'ile de Lido est agréable, plus calme que les iles principales de Venise, avec très peu de magasins de touristes. Sauf peut être en Septembre avec le festival du film de Vénise qui est en fait sur l'ile de Lido.

Ca reste quand même un bon souvenir!

Gerne wieder!

Tolles Hotel, Team, usw.
Kleines Manko: keine Mini-Bar im Zimmer und die Lage etwas weit weg von dem Sammelpunkt der Restaurants.
Dafür war aber die Lage nah am Strand.
Wenn wir wieder in der Gegend sind, buchen wir wieder sehr gerne beim Hotel Rivamare.

Rustige omgeving en toch dicht genoeg bij Venetië. Degelijke en ruime kamer. Het interieur is niet modern, maar wel degelijk en goed onderhouden. Vriendelijke service en een heel aangenaam ontbijt.
