Clean and friendly but small

Room was pokey but clean !! We were sorry we didn’t ask for another one ! A bit depressing as it was in the back !! we were spoilt with the view in Venice!! The hotel itself was clean and staff really nice and breakfast for the price was really good! It was a lovely short walk to the boat. well kept.

Old-fashioned charm on the Lido

Villa Edera is a very nice old-style hotel on the Lido, away from the buzz of Venice -- but flat surfaces, so no lugging suitcases up and down stairs and bridges. Hotel is only a few blocks from vaporetto stop, and an easy walk down to the beach. Our room was small but pretty with a balcony. At night in the almost off-season, there is no desk service after 9 p.m. so guests pretty much have hotel to themselves, which seemed a little odd. Sound travels. But the hotel was clean and well cared for and there's a small elevator to ease carrying luggage.

Great location

Nice hotel in a great location, just off the main street, room was clean, breakfast was cereal, toast and egg, fruit, coissants, it was more than sufficient for the price only cost me 10 euros for 3 days. Only a short walk to the water taxi's. Great location to explore Venice and surrounding islands and I'd definately recomend staying on the lido.

good location & value

They have a great breakfast included in the room cost. Clerks were very helpful about where to go and how to get there. The air conditioning worked too well, I had to adjust it, and this was in the middle of a heat wave. Lido is a little pricey to travel to and from every day, so a pass for the ferry is a good deal.

Good hotel value hotel on Elba

We stayed for three nights in July 2014. The hotel is dated, but the room is clean, has a.c., had a small room with a big deck. The hotel had free wifi in the lobby, would of been better to have free in the room as well. The hotel had a free shuttle two and from the beach that was a 5 min ride away. The hotel is conveniently located within a 5 min drive from the centre of town where all the shops are. The hotel is family run and they were friendly and accommodating. Free light breakfast in the morning was nice. Free parking is included if u have a rental car. The pool was a good size and well kept. The room could have used a safe for security of valuables and you will need to buy a second adapter for the electrical outlets because all the outlets in the room are the old style that doesn't fit the North American adapter. A grocery store called \"Conrad's\" which is five min drive in town had this for 3 euros. U will also need to bring your own beach towel for the beach. All and all it is a good value for what we paid $100 euros.

Beware of a terrace being a balcony

Other than a young man called Punaru we found the reception staff including manager not all that friendly. Waitresses didn't know how to smile either. Rooms small but clean enough & towels daily if required & bed sheets changed often. Breakfast adequate, fresh & plentiful. We had upgraded to a terrace but initially given a small balcony/only room for a chair. Others 4 couples with us, 2 had upgraded to what was described as terrace but only got small balconies. They were are at first given the same type of rooms as those who had not upgraded but at substantial extra cost for a week. Because of this they got moved when another room was ready but never really got what they expected. When you look at the images the 2 big & 1 small terraces you see in a row are the only ones that exist but the balcony ones with only room for a chair are same price. My friends weren't even given them to start with, just as well they all knew what the others had paid & had a valid argument.
There are no staff in the hotel after 9pm until am, we had paid all out account when we arrived but had to leave key early am when no staff present. When I got home that night I checked my credit card & the hotel had charged me another almost £400 which I had to email them about, it was well into the next day before I got a response but they did admit it was a mistake & refunded. Made a stressful end to a lovely holiday in Lido

A very good reasonable hotel.

This is just the right hotel for location and value. The continental breakfast was superb with the waitress filling the plates of food and drinks all the time. We had a stoppage in the shower, water not going down.Went out for the day, sorted when we got back. The room was cleaned properly every day. If you want a reasonable room, just to sleep without all the extra frills that could cost an arm and a leg we would definitely recommend this one and also go back to it again. The hotel was just a base as we went out all day every day while we were there, but it was a good place to come back to. The staff were friendly and they could speak a little English where we could not speak Italian but we got by. We knew when we booked that it was hotel with no fuss but it served its purpose a clean and pleasant place with a good breakfast and plenty of it for our stay in Italy.

This was my second trip to Venice and I really enjoy staying on Lido as it's very quaint. The hotel was great and we had a very comfortable room for 3 people. Breakfast is definitely nothing special and if you need something good luck finding someone to help you. Check in is at 2 and we arrived at 3 and there was no one there. We had to call someone to let us in and when we finally got inside the hotel there wasn't any staff. There was an envelope with our key and a welcome letter on the desk. Didn't see another person until the next morning who aim assuming is the owner and not very friendly. I would entertain staying there again but will probably go back to the hotel I stayed at last year.

Loved staying in Lido

Venice is very expensive. The Villa Edera was perfect for us. Walking distance to the ferry, quiet neighborhood, proximity to a supermarket and several restaurants, cafes and gelaterias. The staff was attentive, the room was nice with a lovely balcony, the bathroom was small but it worked. The breakfast was good with cold cuts, cheeses, breads, cereals, fruit, etc., etc. Overall, we were very satisfied. Definitely a great value. We would return, that's for sure.

OK could be better

Very frustrating experience at this hotel. Arrived at 9:30 pm after taking train from Milan to find that the property has an electronic gate and staff go home at 9pm. We stood there for quite sometime and if it wasn't for some guests coming back in we would have been stranded outside for the night. Informed the staff on several occasions that my AC wasn't working properly and no one ever came to look at it. Plus the place is so tiny and walls are thin so if you're not an early riser be careful the cleaning lady's vacuum will wake you.

Quiet, romantic bijout break

Very convenient from Actv water bus (local service) and close to restaurants and bars, whilst being far enough back from main street not to be disturbed by them.
NOT miles and miles of hiking with suitcases, like that experienced by those poor things staying on the main Venetian island. Very glad we chose Lido!
Our balcony was lovely and we spent evenings drinking wine and soaking up the quiet street atmosphere.
Rooms are quite small and bathrooms very much so because of the Italian love of the bidet! But were usable and clean.
Reception staff were absolutely lovely and spoke excellent English.
Only set back was breakfast waitress. She was surly and grumpy and had a very poor attitude. We regularly had to ask for more coffee / bread/ milk etc and she fetched them, but with much eye rolling and banging around - unless you were Italian in which case she was all smiles and nothing was too much trouble.

There was not much room in the bathroom to move around. There was barely enough room to walk between the toilet, shower and bidet. The shower was hard to get in and out of, with only a small corner opening up. The lady at the desk was nice, giving us free wifi when it states you need to pay. Breakfast was nice also.

Hotel Villa Edera is decorated in such a way as to promote the artistic side of Venice, with artistic flourishes adorning the walls, ceilings and doors.
However the initial thrill quickly dissipates.
The staff are friendly enough, but a little distant at times, and at a completely different hotel at others. Namely 9pm until 7am, during which time there is no staff present at the hotel. Any problems, refer to a sister hotel located elsewhere on the island.
Outside these hours, guests have to enter/leave the hotel via a swipe card system.

The rooms, or at least the one we were allocated, are not of generous proportions, and our room on the ground floor can only be described as noisy.
If booking a room at this hotel, DO NOT ACCEPT A ROOM ON THE GROUND FLOOR!
The hotel's delivery and refuse system appears to use the path directly outside the ground floor bedroom windows. The noise from 07:00 is reminiscent of metal beer barrels been wheeled into a pub cellar.
There is only one, small wardrobe in the room, a dressing table dominated by a TV set, bedside cabinets and a queen sized bed. A small minibar took up space in the wardrobe, along with a broken safe.

The air-conditioning did not work. The only course of action was to open the window, and suffer the noise.

However, the bath rooms are clean and modern and well equipped.
Rooms are serviced daily.
A continental breakfast is included, which was very satisfactory.

Over-all, I would recommend finding somewhere else to stay.

This hotel is adequate but did not live up expectations. The rooms were cramped; the breakfasts not very interesting and, sadly, I found the place a little unwelcoming. I left my shoes there by mistake. I emailed to ask if they were there.... And was told they did not find my glass! I emailed back but got no reply. Disappointing.

Perfect Location

Lido is a great place to stay when visiting venice. You get to do the Vaporetto every day which is a great way of seeing the place.
The Hotel itself is in a great location, just a 2 minute walk from the Lido Vaporetto terminal. From here you can get the short trip into Venice just fine, along with other routes.
You pay the tax on arrival which i think was 2.4 euro each per night. You are given the key, and a card to open the gates and doors if you return after 10pm.
The rooms are basic, but clean and maintained ok. The bathroom is clean and as expected.
Beds are comfy and we had a great night sleep every night!
There are no mosquito nets which i think is common, however despite being bitten outside (and they bloody hurt) the room was mozzy free. Security seemed ok with the shutters etc so we didnt need the safe.
Breakfast was good - Buffet of Croissant (chocolate and apricot) bread rolls etc all done fresh. Cereals, Toast, Eggs, Cheese, Salami, Jam, Yoghurt, Coffee and Juice. Great for the price which is reflected in the rating.

Would definitely recommend

Small hotel on the Lido

Have stayed here several times before. Love staying on the Lido, a vaporetto ride with a wonderful persepective of San Marco square. The hotel is a few short blocks from the vaporetto stop. Mostly locals live here and its nice to see people other than tourists. There are cars and buses on the island. Less costly than other locations

First of all the room looks big on internet but when entered that room it was very very small especially for 2 people.Second i was suppose to check in on 5th of july but u couldnt check in until around 1400.Third we had some problems with the sink (hot water) and the breakfast was kinda limited and same every morning. But other than that it wasnt that bad imo.

I only have two things to be dissatisfied with on this stay: 1. At arrival (which was after 10pm), there was no way for me to collect my access card, as it was in an envelope in the reception. When I finally got it (some friendly guests arriving let me in to collect it), the card did not work. When I wanted to exit, it lead to me at some point being trapped in the area between the gate and the entrance. The intercom connecting with the remotely situated hotel person also had a really bad connection. Though this person did a good job managing the situation, it was a not a pleasent start at the stay. 2) The shower did not drain well, leading to it being flooded when showering. In all fairness, we could have complained about that, but didn't bother to.

Had great fun getting to and from this hotel on the water buses! A good spot to stay, and nice to cross the water after visiting Venice. The hotel reception staff were 'ok'...the decor is like something out of the 30's, great if you're into that kinda thing! We upgraded to a room with a balcony, which I'd recommend as the room wasn't exactly spacious. I'd also recommend the local supermarket which was selling Prosecco at a quarter of the price of anywhere else! ;) Close enough to the beach too and the surrounding area/houses are very nice. Hotel internet didn't work though which was a bit annoying but not exactly the end of the world. Pretty good place to stay.

Very satisfied with this hotel - eat as much as you like breakfast and very clean. Surrounding area quiet at night enabled a good night sleep. The vaparetti ran 24hrs over to St Marks square which only took 10 minutes. Would recommend you buy a pass to save money. Although the room was quite small it was adequate for needs - bring your own travel kettle.

This was a very comfortable hotel which is ideally located for acess to the waterbus terminal, high street and beach. The staff were friendly and the rooms were clean and furnished to a good standard. Breakfast was enjoyable and our room also had a patio where you could eat in the evening. If you are looking for a base to explore Lido and the surronding islands and Venice I would recommend this hotel.

Great Boutique Hotel on Lido

If you're looking to get away from the crowds that surround St. Mark's square, then this hotel is a great option. It's located just one short block off of the main street on Lido. 10 - 12 minute walk max from the boat dock. A 5 minute walk to the public beaches. The rooms are clean and reminiscent of old Venetian interior design. The hotel staff is very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was typical: meats, cheeses, toast, crossiants, cereal, yogurt and some fresh fruit and juices. Also, there are some cute bars and cafes located close to the hotel and they won't cost you an arm and leg to eat at them.

Note: You have to pay extra to use their safe deposit box in the room - 10 Euros.

This hotel was a great value for our three night stay in Venice. The location is great and the rates a far less then what you would find staying in the main part of Venice. It's in a very quite area but close to all the stores. Most of the rooms come with a balcony, which was a pleasant surprise. The staff for the most part was great, just one older lady that was kind of rude to us. Overall a great little hotel. I would definitely stay there again.

Cute hotel in a great place to visit Venice when you have a car. I think we must have had the same lady on check-in who treated us and our questions as if we were a bother but all other staff were great. The rooms were small but very pretty. There is free parking but you have to ask exactly where it is. The best idea is to buy a 24/36/48hr imob ticket which allows you to travel on all transport even the car ferry.

Third time at this hotel

This was the third time we have stayed at Villa Edera and have always found it to be friendly and comfortable. The room was always clean and we had fresh towels every day. The view was not the best we have had there but we were not overlooked and could see a garden next door.
Breakfast was sufficient to start the day and the service was efficient.

Staff all very helpful,;I asked for more pillows and they arrived within ten minutes.

Would definitely go back next time we are in Venice. Good value for money.

Quiet nice hotel on vacation island by the beach.

We liked the breakfast that included pastries, hard boiled eggs, fruits and sometimes shaved meats or cheeses, plus cute carafes of coffee and milk brought to your table. You can eat outside it nice courtyard or inside too. Staff was helpful and multilingual. Hall lights are on motion sensors and room lights operate with you room key...nice efforts to promote energy saving. Rooms are small and so is shower; if you are heavy or tall, you may want to look for somewhere roomier. i am 5'4\" and 140 lbs and dropped soap in the shower was hard to retrieve because it was tiny in there and i hit my head on about everything in the bathroom too. but everything was clean, comfy and VERY QUIET as Lido is for italian vacationers. The bus fare to San Marco, Murano etc was 6.5 euros each way, so if your main objective is to be on San Marco, you may want a place on that island in one of the northern neighborhoods. However Villa Edera does arrange transportation to Murano with a sales agent from one of the glass factories. The sales agent will also get you a ride back, but their job is to get you to the factory and get you to buy their stuff. They don't really want you to get out on the rest of Murano to other shops, so that is a slightly sticky situation if you were excited for the free ride there and back but also wanted to look around. The hotel is in a vacation area, so close to gelato shops and plenty of places that will sell you generic spaghetti experiences...bypass this and head to the beach and spot the El Pecador sandwich shop playing music next to the Planetarium park...GREAT FOOD, CHEAP AND DELICIOUS!!! Locals go there and we ate there 5 times in 3 days and had some items bagged up for our flight home. That place is the best reason to stay at Villa Edera on the Lido.

L'Hotel Villa Edera è una fantastica struttura a pochi passi dall'arrivo dei vaporetti al Lido di Venezia. Professionalità estrema (dall'accoglienza al check out), altissimo livello di pulizia, grande gusto nell'arredamento ed estrema funzionalità fanno da corredo ad un soggiorno indimenticabile. Ottima, variegata ed estremamente ben organizzata la colazione. Letti comodissimi, ottima insonorizzazione. Davvero consigliabile !

Godt hotel med lidt lunken service

Dejligt hotel med pæne værelser, ligger tæt ved Vaporetto-terminalen. Super aircondition på værelset og god terrasse. Rengøringen fyldte desværre ikke op med plastikglas, shampoo og toiletpapir, hvilket undrede os lidt, da vi overnattede tre nætter. Første dag i receptionen blev vi mødt af meget flink person - måske hotellets ejer - og fik god service. De andre dage var receptionisten ikke super venlig. Morgenmaden var ok uden at være prangende. Alt i alt godt sted til prisen, men service kan godt blive bedre allround.

Charming hotel with great value for the price.

We had the top floor \"privato\" room which had an amazing big terrace with great view. We arrived at Lido with the public water boat and the hotel was perfectly located a small stroll from the \"Lido SME\" stop in a quiet side street. Our room and bathroom was clean and charming. However, the shower was a little awkward to use: placed in a small bathtub which was divided in a niche for sitting down (?) and half the space to shower standing, made it a little cramped, but the water was warm and the pressure in the shower was good. The lift did not go up to the top level (to the \"privato\" room), but it was not problematic for us to walk up one step with luggage.

The hotel interior and decor was charming, and the people in the reception friendly and spoke English well. We as Italian breakfast goes the breakfast buffet was quite good: a selection of pastries (a yummy Lemon cake!), white bread, bread rolls, toast, cheese, hams, boiled eggs, jams, yoghurt, milk and cereals. Fresh fruit, a coffee machine and good selection of tea bags.

We arrived after the reception had closed (at 20.30) - but it was not problematic as we received an e-mail before we arrived with the description how to enter the hotel: a code to enter the gate and an envelope at the reception with name, room number and key. Our stay was in October, so the beach was closed, but placed a short walk from the hotel.

In sum: A charming hotel with great value for the price.

Venise + le côté balnéaire

Très bien situé, près des bateaux, fréquents que ce soit pour se rendre a San Marco, ou place de Rome et Burano, et au calme, l'hôtel est vraiment charmant.
Accueil souriant et personnel aux petits soins. Les chambres sont confortables avec une décoration dans le pur style vénitien. Le petit-déjeuner sous forme de buffet est plus que correct. Et cerise sur le gâteau, la plage est toute proche...

Sijainti todella hyvä ja huone minulla ok, kollegalla tosi pieni. Ikkuna kylpyhuoneessa helpotti oudon (home?) hajun poistamisessa.
Ensimmäisenä yönä palohälytys ja 45 min kuluttua huonosti italiaa ja englantia puhuva toisesta hotellista tullut yöportieeri sai sammutettua. kaikki asiakkaat eivät reagoineet hälytykseen, jolloin mietimme, että tällaista tapahtuu Italiassa vaikka kohdalleni ei onneksi aikaisemmin. Protieeri tarkisti hotellin vasta kun asiakkaat painokkaasti kehoittivat, jonka jälkeen palasimme huoneisiimme. Osa henkilökunnasta ystävällistä ja osa ynseätä.

L'hotel si trova un una buona posizione al Lido di Venezia. Se si è interessati a visitare la città, è molto comodo dall'hotel arrivare alla stazione dei vaporetti.
A due passi dall'Hotel ci sono bar e negozi.
La nostra stanza dava direttamente sulla sala dove si serve la colazione e diciamo che non è proprio il massimo... ma per una notte sola va più che bene.
L'unica pecca è che il receptionist poteva essere un po' più simpatico....

Bien situé, proche de l'embarcadère.

Ce n'est pas un hotel haut de gamme, mais les prestations sont respectées et le petit déjeuner compris dans la formule est un vrai +! Le buffet est varié (sucré/salé) et il y'a même des galettes de riz bio et différents muesli. le jus d'orange est correct, les croissants aussi mais sur 7 jours, il n'y a eu qu'une seule fois du \"vrai\" pain. Sinon, c'est pain de mie blanc ou complet au choix. Dans la chambre, il y'a un mini-bar (frigo) bien pratique pour conserver quelques provisions.

È stato un soggiorno breve di sole 2 notti. Posizione hotel comoda, vicina ai servizi di trasporto, camara non molto grande ma silenziosa e pulita.
Lo consiglierei per un breve soggiorno.

Oma rauha lähellä kaikkea

Lido on loistava paikka asua Venetsiassa viipyessä: lentokentältä (Alilagunan) vesibussilla pääsee suoraan n. tunnissa ja Lidosta sitten edelleen todella nopeasti Venetsiaan, Muranoon, Buranoon, Torcelloon jne. (Vaporettoilla siis, joihin kannattaa ostaa Lidon satamasta useamman päivän lippu...vesibussiverkosto vastaa todellisuudessa käytettävyydeltään metroa tai ratikkaa). Hotelli on kivenheiton päässä satamasta ja laukut on helppo vetää päällystettyjä katuja pitkin perille - mikä on muuten aivan oleellinen asia Venetsiasta hotellia valittaessa! Villa Edera on myös Lidon pääkadun välittömässä läheisyydessä, mutta silti sivukadun omassa rauhassa. Eli on ruokakauppaa, ravintolaa, vaatekauppaa jne. omastakin takaa aivan nurkalla - ja huomaa: Lidossa on Venetsian ainoat uimarannat! Suosittelemme vuokraamaan myös pyörät ja ajamaan saaren toisessakin päässä. Siellä voi uida jopa ylhäisessä yksinäisyydessään. Myös ruuan hintataso on Lidossa vähän edullisempi. Ja sieltä SAA myös Kebabia, jos pitzza ja pasta pursuaa jo korvista...ks. Intialaisen ravintolan naapuri pääkadulla. Hotellin aamiainen oli sortimentiltaan ehkä vähän niukka - mutta asiallinen. Henkilökunta on pääösin varsin palvelualtista ja paikat siistejä. Suihkukaappi nyt on isolle miehelle ahdas, mutta pakkoko siellä on lomaansa viettää?

Great location, bit run down and shabby bathroom

Location was ideal and close to vaporetto and beach. The hotel is in need of maintenance but overall cleanliness was ok. But the bathroom had black/brown matter between the tiles (fungus?) which was easily removed with towel. Seems like the cleaning is very superficial.

Angenehme Lage, nette Service Leute

Das Hotel liegt in unmittelbarer Nähe zur Vaporetto Station am Lido. Also ideal wenn man nach einem anstrengenden Tag in Venedig einfach gemütlich essen und dann ins Bett fallen möchte. Die Zimmer sind in Ordnung, Sauber.
Gute Frühstück, Und sehr nahe am Strand. Das Personal war sehr nett, im Hotel sind außerdem viele deutsche Gäste. Wir würden (und werden wahrscheinlich auch) wieder kommen!

El hotel se mantiene en condiciones muy buenas, limpieza y servicio del personal lo hacen muy deseable.
El desayuno es bueno y el Wi Fi también.
Respecto a la ubicación, también es conveniente, atento a que está cerca del puerto que te lleva a la Venezia.

朝食最高！！

リド島の船乗り場から歩いて６分。安くて、近くて、静かなのが良い。本島のホテルの値段が高いので、リド島を選んだ。しかし、毎日、船に乗って本島へ行く際に景色を眺められるので、逆に本島から離れていることが良かった。あまり期待していなかった朝食（パンのみと思っていた）でしたが、クロワッサン（とその他のパン）、ハム、ゆで卵、コーンフレーク、ヨーグルト、チーズ、フルーツなどなど種類豊富。ドリンクもオレンジ、コーヒーなどなど豊富。食べ放題なので、毎朝、美味しくたくさん頂いて、お腹一杯になりました。

hôtel accueillant, base idéale pour visiter Venise

Nous avons choisi de loger sur le lido pour visiter Venise et nous sommes très satisfait de ce choix. Stationnement gratuit pour la voiture assez proche de l'hôtel. Embarcadères Vaporetto à proximité, quartier très touristique et animé, mais hôtel au calme, reposant. Nous avons toutefois été surpris par l'exiguïté de la chambre et l'étroitesse dans la salle de bain.
