This is a wonderfully clean guest house with shared bathrooms that are basic but kept immaculately clean. You are able to catch the airport boat straight to the airport from Arsenale. It is basically a 3 min walk ther from the hotel. The price is excellent and you are quickly into the heart of Venice either by walking or taking the local boat transportation. Added bonus is a gelato shop just out the door and local bars and coffee shops surrounding you as you are close to where the locals live.

Great Value and Great location.

Excellent location along the waterway. Close to the \"Vaporetto\" public water bus station \" Arsenale\". The room was comfortable. I had a sink , a bed, a table, and a closet (do drawer) The price was affordable. The shared bathroom situation worked out very well. The Hotel is located on the 1st floor of the building( in the U.S.A. that translates to the 2nd floor, so there's 1 flight of stairs to climb). Check-in was easy, Thanks to Maria. Overall had a wonderful stay. I would be Happy to recommend Casa Favaretto to family and friends for an enjoyable stay in Venice.

Very spacious rooms with our own sinks. There were three separate bathrooms, 2 of which had showers, and they were all nice. The woman that met us on arrival did not speak much English but she still easily communicated what we needed to know, plus English information sheets were provided in the room. Far location from the train station so we needed to walk a long way with our luggage, but it is close to multiple ferry stops. It is also around the corner from a street with many restaurants that we had good experiences at!

A great 3 days

We loved our stay at Casa Faravito it is in a great location and looking out of the balcony at the end of the landing was a treat every time. The shared bathrooms were always clean and we never had to wait. The staff at check in were great and accommodated our slightly late arrival with no issue. We would definitely book here again if we return to Venice.

We could not have asked for a better location for the price we paid. Right on the water front with only a 10 min walk to St Marks, great restaurants on the next street and a vaporetto (water bus) stop just outside. The staff running the accommodation are really friendly and has a nice feel to it. Although the bathrooms are shared this was not a problem at all - very clean, very good facilities and never had to wait to use the toilet or shower. Overall this was a great stay for the price - better than I would have expected. Would 100% recommend for the price range and will be coming back next time I am in Venice.

Not practical - Doesn't have good value

I'm not really sure how this property received a good rating. Rooms were extremely loud, as you could hear everything going on in the hallway. And with a shared bathroom, this generates a lot of noise.
Also, having one shower for 5 bedrooms simply doesn't work. Be prepared to wait for a shower in the morning or get up super early! Room was a mix of old furniture with some new elements. Smelled like an old grandparents bedroom. Walls were dirty and a bit beat up. Beds were more like cots and very uncomfortable. They also slid all over the floor, making it very un-romantic for any couples.
I think you're much better off spending a bit more and getting a better setup.

This place is right on the waterfront! Francesca as well as her father are very courteous and helpful. The beds are comfortable and clean. There is a sink in the room and then there is a shared bathroom with a shower and another half bath. There is a balcony with french doors and a beautiful view. The location is close to everything in town; shopping and transportation (by boat).

Fantastic hotel on the Grand Canal with a lovely view! The host was welcoming and friendly. Though the bathroom was shared, the room itself was spacious and comfortable. Just a 10 minute walk from St. Mark's Square and over the bridge to the left of the hotel, an alleyway of eateries and a coop.

Definitely recommend this hotel

Francesca sent us a welcoming email before we arrived. When I told her we were planning on walking there from the train station she immediately told us to take the water taxi which was excellent advice. The location of this hotel is amazing. If you don't mind sharing a bathroom and want a genuine old Venice feel to your stay this is the hotel to book! Paulo gave us really good advice on what to do while there and also on how to get to the airport.

This was so convenient and easy to reach for our first trip to Venice. We loved being right on the waterfront, but a moderate walk to San Marco. There was lots of great energy and action at easy reach, but the hotel was quiet. The only drawback was the shared bathroom, but all was clean, and our needs were simple: cleanliness and comfort.

It was great, casa Favoretto is the best place I stay at, many times was in Venice. Excellent position, in the center, near vaporetto stops. Very clean and beautiful, friendless stuff. You have your own keуs and can come in and out whenever you like. There is no breakfast, but every day they bring juce, some kakes. There is a little kettle in the room to boil water, a cup, tea and coffer in special jars, sugar, large fridge for all guests out of the room. Shared show and toilets are very clean. The Room was larger than in other hotels I stayed at for the same price.
Viva Venezia, viva San Marco, viva casa Favoretto! I will stay here again next time in Venice.

We went for the Venice Biennale, and this hotel is perfectly located to visit both Biennale venues. A short walk to both, plus it is next to a street with lots of restaurants, shops, supermarket, etc. The staff were helpful and communicative. Also close to St Marcs Square if you want to do more touristy stuff. And - it is right next to the Arsenale Vaparetto stop!

This was a wonderful little hotel for anyone going to the Venezia Biennale. It is located less than 10 minutes walk from both the Giardini and the Arsenale. At night, it is lovely to only hear the sounds of the canal outside of my window. I was working for school while I was here and the wifi connection was very reliable. Paolo does not speak very much English, but he was very kind and respectful. The rooms were cleaned daily and the room was very big for a solo traveler. I felt very safe. Although the shower and bathrooms are shared, they are clean and you don't have to worry too much about waiting because there are only about 6 rooms total in the hotel. If you are on a tight schedule, it might be an issue, but I planned to only go to the Biennale so I didn't worry too much about the mornings. Would definitely stay here again. First impressions of the anonomous building and austere stairwell were soon dispelled on reaching a very tastefully finished hallway and businesslike greeting of a kindly host. The room was rather basic in furnishing, offering rather spongy beds, a somewhat plastic breakfast and a fan instead of commonplace air con but who needed a TV when we had the ever changing sights and sounds of our waterfront view? The sharing of toilets and bathrooms presented no problems with so few other rooms and we felt comfortable with the high standard of hygiene throughout. Expensive relative to other budget hotels used during our month long trip but this had a refreshingly different feel and we were after all in magical Venice.

Great Location, run by good people

This is an ideal location in Venice. It is very close to the Arsenale dock so getting from or to the Airport wasn't a problem. St. Mark's square is a short walk down the waterfront, so you are close, but not in the middle of the crowds. It was easy to find (which is a big deal in Venice!) and there is a good gelato place next door. Finally, we had a balcony room and it was cool to see the cruise ships get towed out to sea.

Great hotel with breathtaking views of the Grand Canal as it opens into the Bay! The hotel staff are all so kind, helpful and lovely. Clean and comfortable room. Would stay here again. Found that the WIFI works best next to the refrigerator, but no worries, just needed it for a few mins here and there for some research on tourist info. They provided a community refrigerator for everyone to keep their groceries in. Really Appreciated that. Never had a problem with the shared bathroom, they provided 3 bathrooms. Plenty. Stay here, and book the front room with the view! :-)

Lovely hotel room. Hotel had a really authentic feel and the owners made us feel at home. The bathrooms are shared but that's no issue as everybody seemed to be around at different times. There is also a complimentary breakfast of a pastry / biscuits which was a very nice touch.

My Fiance and I stayed here for 2 nights. We thought we booked a room on the canal, and instead ended up in a room in the back corner with no view. We read that they spoke perfect English in reviews, as we spoke very little Italian we thought this was important. We were surprised when we arrived that no one spoke any English. The older couple that runs the B and B was very nice and the next day moved us to a room with a canal view. There are 3 bathrooms ( 2 with showers, 1 with toilet only) and 6 rooms, so you do share a bathroom. Most of the time no big deal- maybe waiting 5 or 10 min. A community refrigerator to keep drinks/food was a nice touch. The bathrooms were kept really clean. Overall if you want a good location for a cheap price this is an OK place to stay. If you go in with low expectations you will be fine. You are a 10 min walk from St. Marks square, so who wants to spend time in the room anyways?

Wonderful Little Hotel

The location of this hotel was perfect, it could not have been better. It was ever so slightly removed from the hustle and bustle of the tourists but close enough to all the major sights. The view was fantastic, the hotel is located along the same strip as some of the most prestigious hotels in Venice (at about 1/5 of the price!) . The room itself was perfect, comfortable bed, tea coffee and treats in the room. We had a shared bathroom - I didn't once see the people who we were sharing with and the bathroom was always spotless. I will definitely be staying here on my next visit.

We had a wonderful stay at this guesthouse! The owners are very sweet and helpful, and the guesthouse has been passed down through the family. Our room had beautiful windows that overlooked the canal.
The bathrooms are shared, but they were very clean, and we never had a problem. The location is ideal, very near st.Mark's square and the water bus station. I would definitely stay here again!

Our room was sloped about 3.5 degrees as measured by iphone, which made sleeping a bit less comfortable but manageable. The staff managed some english but is not too involved with guests. They have a map on the wall that can be used to get directions, etc. Hotel is clean, you keep your key and you open the room windows to the river. Nice view from front balcony. The hotel is easy to find, even in the dark with close proximity. Use the Arsenale vapratto stop and it's a short walk to the hotel.

Cheap hotel near to the Basilica di San Marco

Excellent location 10 minutes walk from the Basilica di San Marco (you can see it from the front of the hotel!). Right next to a beautiful big expanse of water. The big private boats moor outside the hotel. Very helpful, friendly and accommodating staff. Pretty with balcony doors looking out onto the water and sights. Own sink. No television. A bit noisy with the big boats mooring-up outside but with all the windows closed and ear plugs I slept well. Plus being able to see the boats was so exciting! Shared bathroom with a limited supply of hot water. All very clean. First floor, no lift. Five minutes walk from a supermarket and pharmacies. One minutes walk from good restaurants. 10 minutes walk from a park. Very near to tourist areas but an oasis of calm and quiet.

Room was very clean and modern. You have to share the two bathrooms, but this was no issue, and the bathrooms were kept immaculate. The owners are on site and extremely helpful and kind. They gave me exact instructions on how to get to the hotel from the train station. Hotel is located on the bank of the Canal and overlooks the sea. I would recommend staying in room 1 or 2, to have a window overlooking the sea. The hotel is a 10 minute walk to St. Marks square.

Wonderful location!! About a 45-50min bus boat ride from the train station and a quick 10 minute walk to St Mark's Square. Quiet, clean, spacious rooms and friendly staff.
Shared bathroom was always clean and dry.
Lots of small restaurants nearby and because it's a little further from St Mark's the prices are more affordable.

Casa Favaretto is easy to pass by as there is only a door with an address above. Once inside all appears new and very clean. Sinks are located in each room with baths nearby. The staff were friendly and helpful. Garabaldi Ave was just across a bridge and St Marks 10 minutes away. Highly recommended.

While we enjoyed being very close to Piazza San Marco and all that it offered, we also benefited from being on the \"shore\" of the Canale di San Marco close to the Arsenale which had far fewer people. With the help of a good map we were able to walk and fully take in all six districts of Central Venice.

This hotel is just to the right (away from San Marco) of the ARSENALE water taxi stop, on the street near the water, down about 1-2 blocks. It has NO SIGN, so be sure to look at the address numbers as you are walking by. It was a shared bathroom (2), but the room had a sink/vanity, so it was really no big deal. In addition, the room was HUGE by Venice standards, with room for suitcases on the floor. Just around the corner, is a street of restaurants and shops, which are more like a locals' area....complete with a BYOB wine store at the end of the street on the right! Lastly, although no breakfast was included, the great rate made up for it.

If you're looking for affordable accommodation in a great location then Casa Faveretto won't disappoint you. We stayed for 7 nights and found it ideal. Just away from the heavy tourist area of St Marks but still on the waterfront at Arsenale. It was just a few minutes walk from most places and had a vaperetto stop nearby too. I'd definitely stay here again.

Great location and felt authentic

The location of the hotel is great. Really easy to get to from the airport. In a quiet enough spot but close enough to everything you could want. Including a supermarket!

The elderly lady who works there is great and I managed to fumble my way through our conversations despite me knowing only a little Italian. The younger woman who works there was absolutely horrible. She was not friendly at all.

Great location and value

We stayed for 2 nights and really enjoyed it! I was worried because we arrived late, but Paolo stayed up and let us in when we got there. The directions from the website also made it very easy to find which is nice considering Venice is very confusing! It is in a great location, just far enough away from the tourist areas that it is nice but definitely close enough to walk to everything. There is also a Vaporetto station right nearby. Our room was much bigger than I expected, but the \"double\" bed was actually 2 twins put together which made it slightly uncomfortable. We were also right on the canal which was a little bit noisy in the morning, however once we closed the windows it was fine! Also, the shared bathroom was immaculate, but we did have to wait for showers in the morning. Similarly, the towels were pretty worn out. Overall, we felt that the location could not be better for the price we paid, and the cleanliness of the Casa Favoretta made it even better!

We enjoyed our 2 night stay very much. The location is excellent, the facilities are kept very clean, and the service was very good. We were concerned a bit about the shared bathrooms but they were not a problem. We would gladly stay here again.

Great Place!

This is one of the best places to stay in Venice if you want a reasonable priced place, a bed to sleep on, a place to store your belongings, and a shower. We were on the cruise ship before we stayed there. We traveled from the cruise ship port on the Alilaguna Water taxi to Arsenale. Then we rolled our luggage over one stair bridge (which had a ramp) to the place. It was a cozy place that had free wifi and very friendly people that owned it. There was one lady that spoke english and one of the showers ran out of hot water but the other one didn't. The Alilaguna Water taxi also goes to the airport which was very convenient. There is a coffee/breakfast place which serves delicious crepes, a gelato place and a one of the oldest restaurants right outside. The place is a 10 minute walk to the Plaza San Marco and the main shopping area. The other way leads to a beautiful park which you can get some great photos at. If I come back to Venice i will defiantly come here again.

Perfect, clean, cheap, easy accomodation!

Gorgeous little hotel. Nothing fancy but everything you need in a room. Shared bathroom yes BUT its kept impeccably clean! Its almost like you are staying at your grandparents home! Great location easy to walk to everywhere! 5 stars for simplicity!!

Great location

Good location right near Arsenale vaporetto stop - you can get a vaporetto from train station to Arsenale which takes about 30 - 40 minutes. Close to St Mark's square a major tourist destination. Also close to a nice area in other direction where you can find cheaper restaurants and groceries. No breakfast incuded but we bought some groceries and used the communal guest fridge to store our breakfast items. Room was large and clean and had its own vanity/sink and mirror. Shared bathrooms and toilets were always clean. Only problem we had was the hot water had run out one afternoon and was not hot again until the next morning. The people running the hotel are nice and accommodating, and not fluent in English but enough to get by.

Pretty faultless!

Excellent location, away from the crowds but only a 5 min walk from san marco piazza. Was a 2 min walk from the nearest vaporetto stop called Arsenale. Large clean spacious room, bright and airy. Had a small balcony which looked out onto the lagoon, could also see the San marco bell tower from there. Stunning views. The 3 shared bathrooms were very clean and rarely occupied. The owners were lovely but spoke very little English. If you're aged between 18 and 29 buy a 'Venice card' when you arrive from tourist information. It's 4 euros and gets you reduced price travel on the vaporetto, discounts at restaurants, plus good discounts to the main sights and museums. Would highly recommend palazzo ducale, we got in half price with our Venice card, spent a good few hours in there!

Wonderful place to stay. Clean airy rooms, well-run place, and run by a kind family. The location is close to many of the sites. We enjoyed our stay and enjoyed talking with the family a bit. Good value for the price!

casa favaretto venice--very close to all sights

very convenient central location. overlooks canal. very clean and friendly. good eating places nearby. not ensuite but known before hand and immaculately clean. need to pay in cash on first day--that was fine but must make sure you have it on you. we enjoyed our stay.

Nice room with sea view, when opening the window I heard the sound of the water in the canal and the seagulls, the wind, the boats passing, people on their way. Perfect Venice feeling. The view for sunrise and sunset especially is amazing!

The Room was very clean, nice and basically, everything you need, including a tablet with a little welcome breakfast and a selection of teas and instant coffee. The service and communication was very good, friendly and easy. Also the procedure to checkin and checkout and to get into the accommodation.

The location is perfect for walking around to explore Arsenale and San Marco area by foot, transport (Vaporetto, Alilaguna) nearby, restaurants and shops too. A very good place to stay if you want to avoid too much tourism traffic.

You should go to Bar Calice for a sundowner or an Avocadotoast for breakfast at Nuova Perla or a Pizza, Pasta and a drink at the Wine Bar close to Casa Favaretto.
