I cannot say enough about the Hotel Palazzo Priuli. I will never stay anywhere else in Venice! The hotel itself is beautiful, and it’s decorated to match its architecture. The hotel staff and concierge made my stay the best stay I could have ever imagined — they are all kind, helpful and accommodating and everything went smoothly from start to end. Staying here, you’re about a 5-10 minute walk from all the big “must sees”, but the immediately surrounding streets were fairly quiet during my stay, which was lovely. I would recommend this stay 1,000 times over!!!

We woke up every morning at 7 am from the noise. The staff from 7 to 8 am remove and unload dishes from the dishwashers and put plates, glasses, spoons and forks to the shelves. Earplugs did not help. The very first morning, as we woke up from the loud noise, went to the kitchen in robes and asked them to be quieter, but it did not help. Every morning at 6:58-7:00 the noise and clink of dishes began and lasted for an hour and half. The second minus - the air conditioner did not work. It was very stuffy and hot inside, we had to open the windows, and they overlooked the canal. That is, on the one hand, through the door, we have the noise and clinking of the unfolding dishwashers, and on the other hand - the gathering of excursions, which gathered under our windows twice in 4 nights. When 18 people stand under your window for half an hour early in the morning - it is not very pleasant.

Fab place to stay (we were accomodated in the 'old part' of the hotel). Take you own tbags if you like more than one cup of tea in your room for your whole stay). You have to buy additional t-bags/milk from the hotel otherwise. Anyway, it was a great place to stay for sure.

Mix of old and new

A mix of modern and old. Room had the quaint venetian look with lots of wood, but the bathroom was modern with a rain shower. They had a co-living area like a living room where in the afternoons you help yourself to snacks and water. In the mornings you get served breakfast (small but good spread of fruits, bread, cereal and hot food like omelettes and waffles). Coffee was great.

Could not get the room cool enough for my liking so our sleep was disrupted every night. I believe this is vital to the guests ( as sleep is so important when touring).Twice, water leaked out from the shower (poor design) and onto the floor of the main room. Small quarters required one of our suitcases to remain on the floor ( and as a result) got my suitcase/clothes wet. (Something managment was aware of and didnt mention). The Staff was adequet and at times, fielded many guests in a VERY small lobby. They did a good job at thisThey answered most questions and were quick ( and patient)when recommending acti in Venice ( although they could better study the local restaurants. As a chef I was somewhat disappointed). The room itself was satisfactory with the upstair sitting room exceptional offering a large space, beautifully decorated and inviting.Though I had only juice ( at breakfast) it seemed to have many options and offerings. The whole property itself was clean and well kept. The proximity of the property was the \" gold star\" for this property. Very central to shopping, transportation and St Marks square. Restaurants, gelato, retail, gondolas, and Venice history just steps away. I believe this property can provide a pleasant stay with reasonable pricing. ( although be aware. When I checked in I asked if breakfast was included. The staff said yes. When I checked out I found this, indeed, was NOT the case, costing me a about 100 Euros when checking out for a 3 night stay).

Beautiful hotel and nice staff. Stayed for 6 nights.

Only bummer was that the room DID NOT have bathtubs even though the picture and description said they do.

They said they has recently updated the rooms, but hadn't updated the pics yet??

Seemed like a bit of false advertising unfortunately.

We had specifically chosen this hotel as we wanted to have a bathtub since we were staying for 6 nights. At the very least we feel a discount of some sort should have been offered, or free breakfast or something. Nothing was offered. We didn't have time to try to find another hotel unfortunately.

Perfect vacation hotel in the heart of Venice

This is a very nice hotel in the heart of Venice. Very close walking distance to all the main sites. Lots of food options within 5-10 minutes. Very nice rooms and updated bathrooms. The service by the front-desk is exceptional.

This hotel was so unique and beautiful with a lot of history. We stayed in the superior room with a canal view. Our room was spacious with great air and a very comfortable bed. Everyone was very friendly and accommodating here. They offer a water taxi small group tour which we took advantage of to be able to see all of Venice from the water. If we ever return to Venice we will definitely be staying here again.

This is a most amazing property. The picture was exactly like the room was. It is Venician in all ways. the Food was great, and the front desk staff was super.

The Manager Ms. Giovanna Favaro; reached out to us before our trip and provided almost a concierge level of service. We are very basic people--so just finding a couple of nice restaurants and some directions to some authentic stores (versus the cheap tourist ones) was amazing. She even arranged an impromptu gondola ride the morning we left, just so we would not miss out.

Priuli fantastic

The historic palazzo was beautiful, but came in a close second to the wonderful staff. Giovanna, Roberta and the whole staff made great recommendations and arrangements. The breakfast was diverse and delicious. The only improvement would be cleanliness of the upstairs common area. Overall, I would highly recommend this hotel.

Genuine Venetian gem

Firstly the Historic building is an amazing old Venetian palace, with all the fixtures and fittings and sloping floors you'd expect.....beautiful. The area is ideal with a 3 mins walk to St Mark's Square and the Grand canal, and also perfect to explore the smaller canal areas. Gondolas available straight outside the hotel where there is a beautiful little canal.
The Room was just as you'd expect it, all antique furniture.
The Breakfast for Venice was pretty good. A few bits of hot food, breads, pastries, fruit etc.
Staff were all friendly too and only too happy to assist you
Overall an ideal place to stay for a romantic genuine Venetian stay

This is a former palace! What a unique place to stay. The breakfast was excellent, and the all day coffee upstairs was a great bonus. I wish I had spent more time in this place. My only complaint is the floor was a little cracked, and you could hear people in the next room. This is minor though, and the staff and location more than made up for it.

Average stay--but is Venice average???

We did a quick overnight stay in Venice at the Palazzo Priuli and stayed her at the suggestion of a recent guest. Reception was professional and cordial, but not overwhelmingly welcoming. We were shown to our room and our bags brought up by a bellman. The steps going to the second floor could prove to be very challenging (if enjoying linations) as they are slanted to the right due to settling. The room itself was sparsely decorated. Bathroom was acceptable. Nothing about the room stands out besides the excitement of being in Venice! The bed was hard and uncomfortable. It was quite a walk from the train station, and if I were to plan better, would have chosen a site closer to the train station. Breakfast was abundant with many buffet options. The area was maintained and cleaned up quickly for the guests. Our room overlooked the small canal and proved quite loud as there were several restaurants across the small bridge.

The best part of our suite was the ability to have windows that looked out over the canal. There were 3 little cafes right across from our bridge. Food there was really good and not so expensive. A short 5-6 minute walk to St. Mark's Square. The location truly was good. Just enough off the beaten track so there wasn't constant people. So quiet and peaceful in the morning, could take a walk without the million tourists following along.

The staff were friendly, very helpful and prepared to go out of their way to enhance our stay. The breakfasts were fresh, filling and with a good range of choices.
It was delight to waken to the sounds of gondoliers and activity on the canals.

Everything great except no A/C

The hotel and room were beautiful. The furniture was antique, so a little rough, but beautiful. The staff was incredibly helpful and friendly. The included breakfast was great. My only complaint, was that the air conditioner was not turned on. It got so hot in the room that we had to open the window, then we got eaten by mosquitos.

I loved the location, super close San Marco square and the San Zaccharia vaporetto station. The room was big, clean and comfortable. Friendly, kind and helpful staff. Good wi-fi. But, remember this is a pallazzo turned into hotel, so don’t expect outlets near the bed if you want to charge your phone and still use it while resting

Very nice hotel and wonderful front desk staff, Yes the bed was hard but we were so tired after traveling it did not matter! the breakfast was lovely and the area is nice. You will not be disappointed. We had a fantastic stay just the bed was hard but that would not stop us from visiting again.

Cool concept, needs a bit more modern comforts

We loved the look of the Hotel Palazzo Priuli, it's a converted castle, but it just slightly misses on the modern conveniences of what we wanted. The air conditioning was poor, there was an automatic off-switch so we had to keep pushing the fan button to keep the air flowing (much needed during our August visit.) Also, they gave us a room in the apartment building next to the main building - so we missed the charm of the castle. The location was good, but Venice is a small, walkable city.

Decent, but not worth the price!

Hotel Priuli is well located, close to major tourist attractions. We had booked a superior room with a 'canal view', but one really needs to make an effort to locate the canal, which is just a tiny water patch with a boat. We were 'upgraded' to a junior suite, which has a big crack right down the middle of the the room and the floor is eerily non-levelled. The breakfast is too basic and I wouldn't have paid anything for it. On the whole, we won't like spending money on staying in this hotel ever again.

This was an amazingly quaint hotel with such charm and character! The hotel was fairly convenient and just outside the chaos of the thousands of tourists! Upon our departure, we had to leave very very early in the morning, and to our surprise, the hotel arranged for a \"to-go\" breakfast bag, which was unexpected but very much appreciated!

Great location, friendly staff, but not perfect

The people working there were very friendly. The location was very convenient. The room was decorated nicely, although it was difficult to open the wardrobe door without it banging into the TV. But the amenities were not great. The free breakfast was very mediocre - the coffee was awful, the juices were not fresh, the choices were very limited and unappealing, except for a small selection of fresh and canned fruit. Also they did not provide hair conditioner, or any other nice extras (robe, slippers). The in-room wifi was very slow. Overall it wasn't a bad experience, but I would try someplace else next time.

Superb hotel in great location

Possibly the best hotel room I've ever had! Despite booking a standard room, we were given the junior suite which is the fantastic room pictured on the website. It was a corner room with views in two directions. The hotel is less than five minutes walk from San Marco. It was easy to find on a map. The breakfast was excellent. Sadly, we were only booked in for one night. I would recommend this hotel wholeheartedly, and hope to go back there one day.

Luxurious step back in time!

This is not our first stay at this beautiful old Venice hotel, and will surely not be the last. Actually, we set this one up for my son and daughter-in-law as a 'second honeymoon' visit to Venice on a more expanded family trip through Italy, and they loved it, too. Great location, quiet and close to everything, but the slow walk back into the canals away from the shops allows the centuries to drop away and old Venice to rise again. Charming! Excellent in all ways and highly recommended (except ask NOT to be put in the annex building).

unique small hotel close to sights

The signal for the Wi-Fi in the room we were initially booked into was not strong enough (one or two bars) to operate our notebook. After the first night, the hotel staff allowed us to take our computer from room to room to see if we could capture a signal, which we did finally on the fourth room (there are only about 12 rooms at this hotel). We were upgraded to the room, which was more spacious than the previous. During our stay, the weather turned cold (in the 40's) and when we inquired at the desk about heat, we were told that Italy turned off the heat in early May. The room, with marble floors and high ceilings, was really quite cold and I was surprised that a four-star hotel did not make provision for heat. The property is unique, the breakfast was delicious and once we were able to connect to the internet, we were much more pleased with our accommodations.

Oozes Charcter and Charm

Great hotel, with loads of character features with many antiques.
Breakfast was very good for mainland Europe standards. No British breakfast, but we didn't expect there to be!
It was only a 5 minute walk from St Marks Square, less than 10 minutes to Rialto Bridge, and a Varperetto stop was less than 2 minutes away.
The original features gave it great charm. The 12 foot timber beamed ceiling looked great.
They even gave us a departure letter offering us, our family or friends a special rate to stay there again.

Nice enough -- great service and excellent breakfast!

This hotel was a little difficult to find. We needed an expensive water taxi to get there and later leave for the airport. The hotel itself was nice, uniquely traditional style. Room was dark, and beds were uncomfortable, but spacious. Bathroom was nice and very large. Some noise outside our window from the canal below it.
Generally, the desk and bell service was friendly and excellent. They let us print airline boarding passes and helped with the computer. The breakfast was perfect!
I'd recommend this hotel.

Not worth 4 stars

Beware of the annexe at this hotel. If you're given room 504 be prepared for the lift to not work, the room to be above private appartments and for light to pour through the gap in the door all night. We could only stay in this room for one night but the hotel moved us when we asked without questions, so this may happen a lot with this room. Apart from this the hotel is in a great location which is a short walk from the main sights but without the bustle and noise outside the window.
We took breakfast in the main hotel which is a very nice hotel with lots of quirky features you'd expect in Venice. Overall the hotel staff were friendly and helpful. If you're planning on going in winter you will probably need wellington boots as the flood prevents you from getting to St. Marks Square but you can go around the back alleys. We also reccommend the gondalier outside the hotel for his good singing voice.

Good Value for high season

Hotel was clean and a good value for high season. No balcony but you can sit on the ledge of the window for a cool experience. It is off the grind set back in Castello and an easy walk to Zaccharia ATV stop. The hotels in Venezia are not like the traditional rooms in the states or UK, old and traditional by design. Hence there are certain things that go with that territory. With that said, the Palazzo is a good value.

Lovely... but not as nice as the pictures would want you to believe

This hotel was very nice... although the room and building I stayed in was nothing like what was in the pictures on the website, so I didn't quite get what I was expecting. The hotel was clean and the staff were friendly and helpful. It's very close to St. Mark's square and the water, but I was traveling alone and felt a little sketchy returning to the hotel after dark, as it was slightly off the beaten path.

This hotel was convienently located near san marcos square. The staff was friendly and we had free internet use. The room we stayed in was just ok. We were at the top of a fifth floor building. Not the building from the picture. They put us in a room in a building 50 yards away from the main hotel. The room was in the extra attic space so the roof in the room was extremely low. Overall, the hotel was a little pricey for what it was but it's venice. Everythings a little expensive there.
