The staff of this hotel were very nice. Shopping, restaurants very accessible if able to walk (Venice is difficult in general for anyone with mobility issues). Area was safe and quiet. Elevator did not go to our floor and shower door opening was very small. Our rate included a very nice continental breakfast. Use the S. Marco-San Zaccaria water bus stop for easier access.

Our stay was excellent the staff was great and breakfast was delicious there were plenty of choices including eggs, pancakes, cereal, fruit, pastries, croissants, and other good items. We were also happy to have ice water at breakfast along with coffee and hot chocolate and milk. Our room was very nice and the AC works great. Close to all the main attractions and a 10 minute walk to the public boats. We would definitely stay again.

Property was outdated and a little tight. Breakfast was ordinary and the stairs were a problem negotiating with baggage. The hotel booked a water taxi to the airport and gave me a price of 160 EUR, but when I got to the airport the taxi asked 175 EUR, the hotel took no responsibility for their stated and left me with the added charges. A little hard to find, but that being said it was a wonderful place to stay. Close to everything (St. Marks, 5 min walk, open market, 15) My husband and I went walking around @ 2130 and again @ 0700 and it was safe and really neat. As square was empty. Lots of pop up restaurants close by. Family that runs it was very nice and breakfast was good.would recommend and stay here again.

When I arrived I was shown to a very tiny single bedroom with the “private bathroom” outside the room and off the hallway next to another guest room. I declined to accept it was a “private bathroom” given I would have had to leave the bedroom to access it. Very disappointed there was not full disclosure on your website. I then had to pay the full amount as I had booked the room through your site. I left and chose to stay another hotel.

The location of Hotel Al Piave is great. 8 minutes walk from the train station, 6 minutes from San Marco square. Located down a quiet street in the old part of town. The employees were extremely friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet was large and high quality (including scrambled eggs and sausage). The hotel stored our suitcase after we checked out, allowing us to pick it up later when we left town.

The hotel's location was also a major highlight. Situated in a charming neighborhood, it was conveniently close to many popular attractions, allowing for easy exploration of Venice. We really enjoyed our stay at Al Piave. The staff is very nice and helpful, the room was a good size, clean and quiet. The beds were comfortable. There was a kettle, a fridge and a safe in the room. The hotel is just a short walk from St Mark’s and several boat stops. There is no elevator, so you’ll carry your luggage (but it’s Venice, so get used to carrying your luggage!). There’s a shop with necessities right next door and lots of restaurants and souvenir shops everywhere. There’s even a laundromat a few doors down. Breakfast was okay - not the best of the places we stayed in Europe, but it was free.

Great stay in Venice

We loved our stay at Hotel al Piave! The staff was wonderful and we determined that the most delicious coffee we ever had was at the hotel breakfast (a big compliment considering we are in Italy!). The location was perfect. We had a New Years Eve dinner across the alley that was a charming family owned restaurant. The one thing I would recommend is a non-accessible room, but that was not a big problem.

A good find for a nice stay in Venice

We had a very nice stay at this hotel. The breakfast is sufficient and the waitress very friendly. The bed was comfortable, our room was quite small though. The shower is powerful and hot. We had good service when there was a problem with the safe. Remember that you have to pay cash for the tax at the end, nobody told us, so perhaps the only annoyance was the attitude of the lady when we didn’t have cash to pay it. The hotel is well located.

Gem of a hotel smack bang in the centre of Venice.

Stayed Saturday 22nd September after coming off a 7 night cruise. Watched a YOUTUBE video showing exactly what vaporetto (water taxi) stop to get off at, S. zacharria, and the hotel was very easy to find, about a 10 minute walk over 2 bridges, in the other direction, the hotel was a five minute walk from Rialto bridge, but a bit windier and trickier to get to, we took a wrong turn and ended up where we started, doing a complete loop.
The hotel was easy to find, and the owner who checked us in was extremely polite and friendly. We were in room 109, a room completely renovated, had beautiful furnishings, very comfortable bed, kettle with cups, and tea and sugar, no coffee, and when I went over to reception, I asked for some milk, and the owners son was very obliging. There was complimentary buffet breakfast which was plentiful and included hot scrambled eggs, sausages, toast, cereal, pastries, yoghurt, fruit, cold meats and ham, and the biggest surprise was small little freshly baked pizza dough with cheese, went down a treat, also juice, tea and coffee.
The hotel is very central and we were very happy with the price paid, and we also had free WIFI.
The area around the hotel was full of alleyways with shops, restaurants, ice cream parlours etc, so quaint and bustling with activity. Our room was lovely and quiet, had a very comfortable nights sleep, and a great stay overall, will definitely return for sure.

We had a great time the staff were friendly and helpfull, they assisted us with all our requests. We were upgraded to a larger room hitch was clean and comfy. Breakfast was good. Would recommend to family and friends. The hotel is a bit hard to find but I think getting lost in Venice is part of its charm.

Nice hotel with pleasant and courteous staff. About a ten minute walk from S. Marc Square. Rooms are standard size. Free breakfast was good with scrambled eggs, cooked meats, pastries, yogurt, fruit, cheese, deli meats, cereal, toast juices, coffee, tea. If you have heavy luggage, getting over the stair steps of the bridge on the way to and from the hotel will be a minor problem. If you are strong, go for it. If not, consider getting a porter.

Excellent, well-located small hotel

Stayed at the Hotel al Piave for 5 nights in May 2018. I found that it was well-located with only a few minutes walk to San Marco and vaporetto, or taxi pickup at Campo St. Formosa. The front desk was very accommodating and helpful on restaurants, tours, info etc. Everyone spoke good English. We found local restaurants and café/bars that were excellent. Our room was very comfortable and nicely updated. The room was cleaned beautifully: the whole place was spotless. Great bathroom/shower, safe, teapot, heated towel bar, excellent lighting (a makeup mirror!), mini bar, hair dryer, lots of outlets, and TV. Comfortable bed and excellent remote-controlled heating/AC unit. I have never heard an AC unit that was so quiet; really nice. Straightforward Italian hotel breakfast was included with bread, meat, fruit, juice, yogurt, cereal, pastry, scrambled eggs and coffee made to order. Nice dining area (lots of interesting art!) and service. Our room was amazingly quiet, especially considering there were apartments nearby too. Nice security with two locked doors in addition to our room door. But the area felt very comfortable anyway. There are helpful video directions to hotel from vaporetto. The stairway to our room lit up when you opened the lower door. When they did renovations that they had excellent attention to detail. Wifi was free, password protected and worked as needed. Overall it was an excellent value, convenient location and comfortable room. I would stay here again!

Loved Venice even though temperatures were below zero .
Hotel really lovely, rooms clean well equipt and warm.
Centrally located walking distance to major tourist attractions.
Sevearl good restaraunts nearby - bit more pricey than I expected but of a good standard.
Advise buy water taxi pass and a museum pass to save paying individually

Very cosy hotel near San Marco

Very nice and cosy hotel, close to San Marco and Rialto areas. Our family had Quadruple classic- this was not very spacious, but comfortable and very clean, also nicely decorated in venetian style. Buffet breakfast was good with hot (omelette, sausages), cold (various yogurts, hams, cheese, etc.), sweets, very very good coffee :) For breakfast there are two times. The staff were very friendly and helpful throughout our stay. Around there are many good restaurants and bars. We liked everything and highly recommend the hotel :)

I had a room that had windows to a narrow alley or courtyard, typical for Venice, but there was a lot of sound and noise. At the end, just outside the hotel was a place with live music that didn't stop till 11pm or later. It was too noisy for me. Other American guests that had been there before said it was much noisier now. Its a very nice and generous breakfast and nice staff - location is good once you figure out the maze - close to vaparetto and about 6 min walk to St Mark's

Nice family owned small hotel near St. Mark's

We booked this hotel for a four night stay in Venice, based on a tour book recommendation, and we were very happy with this choice! The location is great for walking to most of the best attractions in Venice. We did not have the need to use the public water buses along the Grand Canal (except for going from the train station to the hotel with our luggage when we first arrived), which were always very crowded, because the hotel location was so convenient.
They provided a great complimentary full breakfast. They were very helpful to arrange free transportation to Murano island to visit the Murano glass businesses and to get a shared water taxi for fast and easy transportation to the airport on our way back home.

Nice Hotel but...

The staff was very friendly and helpful despite our language a barrier. I must say the walls are very thin and since we were on the first floor we heard every guest combing and going. This may be true for most hotels in Italy but the beds are very firm no give which left sleep very uncomfortable. Also the cleaning crew did not want to wait until we left the room. They knocked and knocked every yelled in the room, I guess it's becasue they didn't want to come back. Not too annoying just surprising.

Beautiful hotel located close to San Marco

We loved our stay in Al Piave. It is located very close to San Marco and lots of wonderful ancient churches in the area. There are also many authentic Venetian restaurants, gelato places and souvenir shops on Ruga Giuffa where the hotel is. We also enjoyed the simple yet hearty breakfast and Italian coffee in the morning. We strongly recommend the place for it's old world charm and proximity to all the attractions in Venice!

Great central location and value for money

We spent three nights here and couldn't have been happier. The hotel is easy to find with a good central location slightly away from the crowds. The staff are friendly and helpful and we had a wonderful time.
If you have the time for the water bus ride from the airport see the sites and get off at San Zaccaria stop (helpful video on the hotel's website) which takes 1.5hr from the airport but if not the Ospedale stop is a 10/15 walk from the hotel and 45 mins shorter on the water bus.
