Everything was perfect. The location was perfect, the hotel had a very vintage feel. The staff was great. Beautiful room,. Only complaint was the shower in the bathroom, the glass did not cover the tub well. Therefore water constantly leaked to the floors during a shower. We went through a lot of soaked towels during our stay to try to keep the floors dry. Other than that I loved it.

We arrived at the train station and calledthe hotel for help on which boat to take. The lady at the line just repeated the words \"Number one\". I inquired her on which letter (boat stations are addressed by letters and numbers, letters A through D, or something like), she just repeated \"number one\" about 3 times with very rude manners, and hung up the call. I called back twice, she never picked the call. My wife and walked around with our luggage until we found tje information center and the lady (very professionally) guided me to boat C2. When I arrived at the hotel, I asked the recepcionist why she gave me wrong information and hung up. She acted like nothing happened and said something about phone malfunction. She was very rude in the call, then acted innocent. I have no idea why, but I just do not recommend this hotel. The guy at morning shif was very nice and polite, totally different than the lady at afternoon shift. I would not stay there again, you need to train your staff better. That situation was very disrespectful to a customer.

The room itself was clean and the bathroom big enough, but the beds are super uncomfortable. They put two single beds together to create a double bed, so it was already super uncomfortable and also had that gap between them.
We left earlier because we couldn’t stand the beds anymore.

The room was fantastic, just like in the movies. It was little challenging to find but a great central location. We'd love to return to it.

The room was very nice but I was not prepared for all of the up and down stairs with 100lb of luggage! I would definitely stay here again but would plan it with a small backpack and/or carry on, not when I’m traveling for a month and going on a cruise!

Room was absolutely full of Mold! The whole bathroom. The bed was absolutely horrible, it was just 2 singles pushed together. My husband and I just ended up in a crack in the middle of the bed, both waking up sore. The shower was absolutely dreadful. Couldn’t even have a shower, had to have a bath. Probably the worst place I have stayed in, in the whole of Europe and I have been to five countries this month.

Excellent position 10 minutes from the San Marco square. If you are going to Venice then an over the top Venison hotel ticks the boxes.

The room was ready when we arrived a little early for check in which was very welcome. The staff are all very pleasant and helpful. The room was clean and had all we needed for a two night stay and a lovely view of the canal.
There is no lift which didn't bother us with our small cases but it was a problem for a fellow guest with a big case. I am sure there is a light on the stairs but we couldn't find it when we were coming down early in the morning!

Right at the corner of 2 canals and about 8 minute walk from Rialto Bridge. Quieter area of Venice. You can actually see gondolas glide by the window of their lobby/dining area--how cool. Out our window (and many of their rooms have similar views) you could see the canals.

This is not your typical hotel but a guest house with 4 or 5 rooms. It is right on the canal by a bridge and around the corner from a piazza, so a very lovely spot. Maria was at the front desk when we check in and was very friendly, nice and helpful. She showed us our room and the amenities, and even assisted with booking a water taxi for us for the airport for the next morning. The property is lovely and charming- note that there isn't an elevator so be prepared to carry your bags up 2 flights of stairs. The rooms are decorated to make you feel as if you've stepped into old world Venice. The beds were very comfortable and the bathroom spacious. The air con is not what we are used to in the States, but the room had a standing fan and that plus the air con made it comfortable to sleep. There were a variety of restaurants not far away. I would stay here again.

The room was great and clean. Very close all major attractions. Short walk to San Marco Plaza and Rialto Bridge but AC was broken in our room and the heat was unbearable. We had to open the windows at night and did not help much, if anything it let mosquitoes in.

This property is older and small, like much of what is available in Venice. The staff were nice, but the office is open limited hours, so if you need to leave your luggage it can be tricky. The AC is minimal, something to be aware of if you are travelling during hot months.

The room was very nice for a good price and good location! Our only gripe is the shower door in our room did not operate the best, it would sometimes pivot on its own and cause the bathroom floor to be soaked. There isn’t a fixed shower head, just a hand held one so that added to the problem. There was also potentially some mold on the corner of the bathroom between the mirror and window.

It’s not the best here. I understand that it’s budget but the mould in the bathroom is off putting and the rust running down the side of the bath and on all the fittings is awful. The glass screen doesn’t fit correctly so water goes all over the floor, plus it hits you in the back when you’re having a shower. You have to hold the shower head when you have a shower due to it falling off and also not actually sitting on the wall above your head unless you’re under five feet tall making hair washing a nightmare.
The bed is really comfy but the room and furniture are tatty, there’s nowhere to really store anything so we just lived out of our suitcases for the duration. The walls are thin and you can hear the neighbouring rooms but we expected that.

This hotel served its purpose. It was a decent room with a not so decent view. It did its job for me which is to get a good nights sleep. If your looking for luxury, this place is not it. But if you are looking for a decent budget hotel that you want to save money on and still sleep beautifully, this place is it. I enjoyed my stay! I rarely leave reviews unless it's 5 stars, but this one was pretty bad. I waited until we finished our 3 week European trip to review this \"upscale\" property. I wondered if the rude greeting and musty smells were typical of a 3-star \"hotel\" (it's a B&B). After 10 hotel stays, I learned the smells and cranky staff were unique to this particular business. It's long walk from the water taxi especially if you're bogged down with luggage. Not clearly identifiable (we walked by it several times) and you have to call their staff and wait for them to check you in. Bedroom decor is far from calming. Bathroom shower faucet was broken and sprayed out every which way. Funky smells in room and lobby. No offer to help my daughter and me with our luggage up an endless flight of stairs (we were exhausted after traveling for 24-hours straight). The front desk clerk, looking annoyed while standing at the top of the stairs watching us struggle.

Quite a comfortable room and bed. Stairs to the room are a testiment to the age of the building. Watching the activity on the canal was a show in itself as the gondolieri expertly navigate the intersecting waterways. Room was excellent for location to so many good places for coffee and food.

Was pleasantly surprised with the hotel. It's next to a canal (of course) and bridge, and around the corner from a large square with some restaurants. Just away from the very busy touristy streets.

The location is wonderful, although a little hard to find at first. There are so many restaurants and shopping in the heart of Venice. The staff was very nice and even stored our luggage after check out. I would highly recommend this property since it was a reasonable price.

Just a little disappointed in the room that we only stayed one of the 3 nights we booked. The A/C was the #1 issue as it did not cool down the room sufficiently. We were sticky from the humidity and heat by morning. We brought it up to the front desk...she came upstairs, fiddled with the thermosat, and made us feel like we were crazy. She said what's wrong with it; as if we were imagining the heat in the room. The room itself was just ok. You get what you pay for.

This property is located centrally but is not well run. There are no staff snd they charged us €20 for checking in 20 mins after 8pm ridiculous. The stairs are dirty and slippery. The rooms small and beds hard. TV did not work. Shower was smaller than a boat shower so you could not bend at all. The internet stopped working and no one around to ask what was happening. Overall a dive in a great location.

There is no sign on the door. I was walking around in circles for 3 hours until I walked in. When I asked why there are no signs, the Assistant said it costs money to put a sign up...(?). The Shower space is very limited. If you weight more than 130 lbs, you won't fit in there. Other than that, all else was superb.

Most hotels in the Venice area are dated. It’s important to note this hotel has no elevator however it’s only 2 levels. Located Right by the canal and within 5-10 walling minutes of all the major sites. Close to Rialto Bridge, 6 min, which is a major stop on the ferry. Rooms have AC and are a decent size. No staff in the evening or overnight. You will be given a physical key to your room which you can’t lose since there is no overnight staff to let you in if you return late.

We really liked the decoration of the room; it gave the vibes of old luxury venetian style. The area is in a quite place and close to a lot of tourist spots, like the piazza of S. Marco and the boat stops for the other islands. The room was clean.

Quaint Venice location
We had a wonderful time here. The room had a strong Venice feel to it and was quite comfortable. Maria was really helpful with suggestions and directions too! Getting to the hotel from the train station was a bit of a challenge as we have never been to Venice.

We felt like we had a real Venetian experience as this lovely hotel was right in the middle of canal life. With round the corner proximity to amazing dining, picturesque plazas, and a variety of shopping venues, you did not have to walk far to have great experiences. Location of the Hotel was excellent and all attractions were very accessible. Check in was quick and easy and the hotel provided luggage storage at the end of our stay to allow us to make the most of our last day. If returning to Venice we will definitely return to the Dimora Dogale

It's extremely basic, no facilities whatsoever outside of the room, worn and shabby, but the room itself was really nice, very nicely decorated in traditional Venetian style with particularly nice furniture.

You are effectively renting an en-suite room. If you are ok with that then it's a good place to stay. If you want other facilities that you might expect in a hotel, this isn't the place for you.

We were understanding in the beginning that we couldn’t get our money back after we switched our reservation to only one night after a family members passing. However, after the events that later transpired, we feel that we should be able to get a refund based on the way in which we were treated. When we arrived at the hotel yesterday morning we asked the receptionist about getting to the airport and she told us we had to do a water taxi. We figured that the joint as a whole would know a reputable company so we decided to use the people you knew rather than the person who dropped us off. We confirmed 3 times that we had a taxi scheduled for 5:45am and we were even given an alternate meeting location because of the low water. We walked there in the morning and arrived 15 means early. After waiting 15 minutes past the pick up time, we finally called the taxi and they were very rude and told us that our hotel never called and made a reservation for us. We then were left with no option and almost could have missed our flight. This is disgusting that we trusted their employee to get us a taxi and they simply never did and told us they did. Not only that but reception has limited hours so we were unable to even contact the property until 10 am that day. Simply after being put thru all this stress we then called and were told we should have cancelled sooner. Extremely unsatisfied with the customer service, when we asked to speak to a manager we were told they could not be reached

It's a very nice hotel! Located in a very convenient area, close (walking distance) to many attractions; the front desk staff is very friendly, accommodating and helpful; our room was very big and I really liked the older and rich antique bedroom furniture!! I told the front desk lady that we will choose their hotel again if we come to Venice in the future!

We had a great time in Venice. We booked the deluxe canal view, the room itself was lovely however the bathroom was very basic, the shower head itself had no attachment to the wall so unfortunately we had to sit down and hold the shower head to wash.
We were really disappointed with the breakfast. We went down in the morning to find the owner had taken up 3 of the tables with his paperwork, eventually he moved them so we could sit but the table was not set for breakfast. We weren’t given any options on what’s to have, just offered orange juice and a coffee. We were then served shop bought brioche buns, bread rolls and Melba toast, no butter or jam or anything. It was extremely basic and not good enough for a bed and breakfast. We were so hungry that we had to go out and buy breakfast which was an additional cost we didn’t foresee.
Being half Italian myself I know the standard it should be at breakfast so I was very disappointed. I even overhead the owner ask his colleague why we were only served this for breakfasts in which she replied that was all that was available. The fact the owner himself noticed it says it all.

The building we stayed at was about 7 minute walk from the reception location. The receptionist guy was very friendly and helped lug one of our big suitcases to our building. We were on the second floor with a nice canal view. Our bathroom was across the hall, which was a little inconvenient but at least it was close and private. Bathroom was a good size but the shower stall was extremely small. There was a mini fridge in our room but was not cold. The AC didn’t seem to work most of the time but thankfully weather was in low 60s most of the time so it wasn’t needed.
There were loud noises outside on our 2nd night (it was Halloween & sounded like rowdy young adults setting off firecrackers?) and early morning (trash people or restaurant cleaning up?) which was frustrating. We also unfortunately had loud neighbors who congregated in the lobby.
Aside from that, our building was in a fairly good location about 10~15 min walk from San Marcos & Rialto (if you didn’t get lost... Venice is a maze!). WiFi was good, clean room. Overall not a bad place to stay at.

Dimora Dogale I am sure is very nice place at lest by the pictures i looked at , but when we got there they walked us another 5 to 7 min away to a completely different building where they walked us up to a room in the attic. no did not take any pictures as i did not what to have any lasting memories of this place

This was a nice little place to stay in whilst in Venice. Ours wasn't located on the canal like the picture shows, but we were in a separate property about 10 minute walk away. The property we were in had no lift, so had to hike up several levels with luggage but can't fault the security of the building. To get in requires a pin code, then when you get to the top floor, there is a main door to unlock and get in, then after a small hallway another door to unlock to get to your room. Room was spacious with an amazing shower. Only downside was mosquitoes were finding their way into our room and got bitten quite a few times, but otherwise a good little location not far from the main piazza and lots of restaurants and eateries close by. For somewhere to stay for a night or two within close proximity to locations without breaking the bank, this is a good place to look.
