Our room was very large and well-appointed and very clean. The hotel is steps away from one of the larger canals so getting there was easy. Santa Maria Formosa is across the piazza, and it's easy to get to almost anywhere as it's in the \"center of town\", if you will. The staff was SO friendly and helpful, honestly it was a magical stay. I can't wait to go back!!

I was a little disappointed by the size of the room, the fact that the bathroom wasn't spotless, and no soap in the dispenser. But after that, it was truly spotless. There is not much room to unpack (we stayed 5 nights); a dresser would be great since the armoire only had 3 shelves.
The staff is wonderful. Marcella, the concierge, is amazing, personable, funny and very knowledgeable on everything Venice. How to get anywhere, which vaporetto to take, help with your daily itinerary, etc.
The breakfast, which is included, provides a great variety of choices in every category. Everything is delicious and abundant. As soon as you sit down, you can order teas, cappuccino, hot chocolate to be brought to you.
I would definitely stay there again and get a bigger room!
P.S. If you have trouble with stairs, request a first floor room, as the stairs to the 2nd floor are very high, they are the original stairs!

Our family of four enjoyed our stay at this property. It is in a traditional building (with renovated and modern bathroom of course) in the middle of a popular square. I thought noise might be a problem at night given its central location, but that’s not at all the case, we had the most peaceful and restful sleep. Highly recommended.

Lovely hotel in a wonderful location. We had an upgrade to a junior suite which was at the rear of the property. So quiet. There are balconies on the first and second floor where you can sit and watch the world go by! The staff were wonderful, really helpful especially Francesca who served breakfast and Lidie and Glerider on reception. It is close to St Marks and the Rialto Bridge and lots of really good restaurants close by.

This property is very tired. Poorly maintained, has uncomfortable beds and sadly although I flagged it at the time of my stay and afterwards by email, management were uninterested. The ‘junior suite’ had holes in the bathroom ceiling filled with loo roll, dirty silicone around the bath and shower, dirty marks on the walls and was laid out as a family room. Its over priced for Venice, which is expensive, but there are better looked after hotels available.

Magical Palazzo Hotel
Very cool property. We booked the suite on the second floor with two balconies that faced the square. So amazing to stand on that balcony and think that this was someone’s palazzo hundreds of years ago. The old paintings on the walls were a nice touch. We learned while we were there that one of the last Spider-Man movies was filmed on this square so it was kind of cool to look up that scene. There are a couple restaurants right there in the square and there is a gondola and water taxi station too, so no need to take the public vaperetto and walk the rest of the way with luggage. We didn’t know that on the way there but took advantage of it when leaving. Ask the staff and they can arrange it for you.

There is a fantastic restaurant right in front of the hotel in addition to a great place for lunch via staff recommendations(sorry forget restaurant names) I would recommend this hotel with an FYI there are no elevators they have a lift to bring your luggage to your room.

This beautiful boutique hotel in a historic building is a gem. Everything is very clean and well maintained. The room details are amazing & many rooms overlook the campo. The service was excellent; we loved the staff! Lovely breakfast, too.

We had a great time in Venice! This hotel was clean, convenient to everything- water taxis, shopping, St Mark's square, etc and off the beaten path in the quieter place of Castello. The bed was comfortable and we had a large, great shower. We had a little trouble finding it...but Google maps guided us to it. Once we got better oriented, we had no problem. We arrived a little early and were greeted with a drink of wine and snack on the terrace until our room was ready. Breakfast had a great selection of assorted pastries, scrambled eggs, meats, toast cereal, juices, coffee, etc. a very nice stay!

Lovely Hotel in a Quiet Part of Venice
I didn't look into the history of the hotel, but it feels like it was an old mansion initially that was then renovated to be a hotel, with each bedroom being a room for guests. We got the one room on the top floor, which sounds really nice, and it was, but you have to walk up three flights of long stairs to get there, no elevators. It was fine for us because we're young and able-bodied, but I can't imagine it working for older couples. The room felt vintage, classic Italian, but just a tad dirty. There was some black mildew on the shower tiles and under the shower glass door. Service was kind and courteous, they took care of our bags going up all those stairs, which is appreciated more in this case compared to hotels with elevators. The hotel is located in a great section of Venice, away from the centralized tourist spots but close enough to be within 5-10 minutes of all the major attractions. The city is pretty small and can be covered on foot in any direction, so having a central location is a good way to start each day going in a different direction, or for circling around and ending back in the center.

Only complaint no elevator, staff does help with bags but we were on the 3rd floor and steep stairs to climb just to get to room, had breakfast but did not attend, suggest getting a Porter to lug luggage, we came by train and had to grab a taxi which is very expensive and then pull our bags through uneven streets and up stairs.

I really enjoyed this hotel. The location in Santa Maria Formosa is lovely. A large square area around the front on the church gives a nice feeling of space. The hotel rooms are large and very comfortable. Great bath with tub. The staff was very helpful and responsive.

From the reservation booking, the team at the Palazzo Vitturi was AWESOME! They were so helpful in helping us get to/from the hotel and our room was great. The personal service was beyond our expectations. Highlight recommend and if we ever go back to Venice, we'd stay there.

Arrived at Venice airport and took a shared water taxi (pre-booked) to the Hotel - definitely the way to arrive in Venice. Hotel situated on a small square in Venice, nice location and not noisy in the evening. Lovely to sit and people watch. Room very big with a lovely shower. Staff very helpful and knowledgeable. Recommended a lovely restaurant to us. Easy walking distance to everything. We booked for the free walking tour of Venice which was great and well worth the 3 hours of walking, most people gave around 10-20 euro tip at the end. The walk took us away from the main tourist sites and was very interesting. In the evening we went to a classical concert which was wonderful.

The hotel is run down and tired. The rooms are very basic with bad ancient air con. The breakfast is borderline inedible, all bought in on the cheap. It states free breakfast, well they shouldn't bother.

Upon our arrival we were warmly greeted, shown a delightful room and coffee was brought up, even though there was coffee making facilities in the room. On the way to our room we were also acknowledged and greeted by a member of staff who as dealing with the laundry. This level of courtesy never diminished throughout our stay. My room was very cold in December, and the thermostat was no help. No coffee maker or a blow dryer in the room. Wi-fi didn't work. And the sink in the bathroom was totally clogged up. Getting to my room from the lobby was ridiculous. The staff wasn't very helpful or spoke much English. The location is great though and the room was clean.

The family loved the off beat location, yet on a main square. The staff were great. What a lovely young lady at the front desk. The room just had the feel of Venice. The hotel is a diamond in the rough. It could be a great hotel but a few things need to change. The decor in the common areas is a bit tatty and doesn't fit the Venecian style of the hotel. There were broken chairs, carpet on the stairs that was a trip hazard and the bathroom faucet handle came apart in my hands. Could not use the bathroom sink at the same time as the shower as the water would scald the person in the shower. Under no circumstances let them boom you in room 30. This room is not in the style of the hotel and is a dump - low beamed ceilings and dark, dirty walls with poor lighting. And, at 370 euros hardly worth it. We were clearly not given the room we booked but hotel management did comp our room. Breakfast had a large selection of items and was good - staff were very attentive. Staff in general were very helpful and informative.

Our stay at Palazzo Vitturi was just wonderful! It is a very beautiful boutique hotel and was renovated only a couple of months ago. The staff is extremely friendly and provided excellent restaurant recommendation. The breakfast was also outstanding and offered a variety of breads, Danish, yoghurts, cereals, scrambled egg, sausages, ham, cold cuts, cheese, fresh fruit and excellent coffee and tea.

One of the oldest palaces, beautifully maintained and tastefully updated. For only an extra 40 euro, we upgraded our room to a junior suite which I highly recommend, and am thoroughly glad we did. We enjoyed the complimentary bottle of prosecco on the terrace over-looking the square, and greatly enjoyed the larger room with high ceilings and king-sized bed (versus double bed in the standard room). WiFi is included, as is a delicious breakfast of pastries, fruit, meats and cheeses. The hotel is central to Venice, and a short walk to almost anything. The staff is wonderful, very accommodating, friendly and helpful. With limited Italian language skills, all staff were pleased to converse in English. I cannot think of a single negative thing about Hotel Palazzo Vitturi, and give my utmost recommendation in booking your stay in Venice at this quaint, lovely, historic, palace hotel.

We stayed in suite Vitturi room and upgraded as it was our honeymoon. This is our best hotel experience ever and we stay in a lot of hotels, mainly 4 or 5 star ones and this one beats all of them. Staff were so friendly, location is 5 min walk from all main attractions, located in a beautiful peaceful square. Our room was immaculate, had original frescos, with high quality fixtures and fittings, a fantastic shower and very comfortable bed, we also had 2 balconies overlooking the square. Cannot recommend highly enough and we will definitely return!
