I felt like we got ripped off. We asked for a canal view and our room was so dark and it didn't really have a full window to look out of. We spoke to some other guest and paid more than them but didn't have a nice room like theirs. It was disappointing. I really felt like we over paid for our room.

But I came to feel very comfortable and enjoy the great location, authenticity, and the staff who were all great except for one snarky man. All others were so helpful and welcoming.

The best location. The property feels like 500 year old charm for royalty, but with modern amenities. 3 prior doges called this place home before the Ruzzini family purchased it 300 years ago. Location is perfect. You get dropped off by one of those water taxis to the front of the hotel. Just outside the hotel is a large square, with a guy selling fresh fruits and vegetables every morning. There’s a small cafe/coffee shop just outside, and there’s a gelato shop within a 1 minute walk with mochi ice cream that was probably the best we’ve had in Italy. The Doge palace and St Mark Basilica is a 9 minute walk. There is a Japanese ramen noodle place within a 5 minute walk, and our favorite to-go pasta place (Pasta & Pasta) about 5 minutes away. I’d highly recommend to anyone visiting Venice for the first time.

The staff was beyond amazing and as helpful as they were attentive. You may be offered the option to have the hotel retrieve you and bring you back by private launch to the hotel - take it! If you're traveling with someone special, the hotel will assist in making it a covert operation and believe me you will make points big time. The hotel is beautifully old and we'll maintained with a public square outside the door. Enough of this; just go there.

Very classy boutique hotel with an eight minute walk to St Mark's square. Not in a busy area but located on one end of a small open square with outdoor bars, a farmer's market, and fine dining nearby. Very nice common areas within this old palace, and breakfast was included in the price. No gym, but in Venice you will get lots of steps in.

Our queen bed was 2 twins pushed together with a large lip in between. Could not lay anywhere near the middle without the edge pushing into your back. Basically had to sleep on 2 individual beds while sharing one blanket.
Also did not have any “do not disturb” signs if we did not want our room cleaned. They cleaned our room at 240pm which is when we got back to our room to change before a booked activity. We were told we had to wait outside until they were done. Would not have been an issue normally but we then missed our activity departure because of this wait.
Staff were nice and breakfast was good although an extra 20 euros each on top of the stay. Just a few below average points I did not expect for this hotel. For 20 euros each you can get a better breakfast roaming the streets of Venice!

Our stay here was amazing! The staff was fantastic, our room was great and the location was perfect. Location was just a few minutes walk to everything we wanted to do. Lots pf restaurants nearby for dining. Our room was maybe the coolest room we have ever stayed in. It was not the typical room with the super high ceilings with beams, the unique walls, enormous windows and treatments. It definitely was a stay in a palace!

I liked the fact that there were nice large rooms available, we had a suite overlooking one of the smaller canals, and I also liked the large open square outside the front door, and access to shopping and restaurants.
The only drawback for us was the sound transferring from the room above us, and the unfortunate use of a very industrial smelling air freshening chemical that permeated our bedroom air conditioning.
I have no idea why this was necessary as there was no unpleasant smells from the canals at all so I wish they would discontinue using this product as it reminded me of the sort of air freshening agent you get in urinals.

Had a great two night stay at the Ruzzini Palace Hotel and we highly recommend it. We splurged on one of the larger suites that are over 900 square feet and it was well worth it. The rooms are beautifully appointed and the large separate living area away from the bedroom was amazing and complete with an outdoor balcony overlooking the canal. The staff were attentive and special recognition to the bartender who served up some amazing cocktails accompanied with a perfect combination of cocktail snacks. Having a before dinner drink in the bar was a highlight of the overall experience. Treat yourself to this hotel.

Website shows rooms with gorgeous views. After paying in full, I was put in the room next door to the reception desk. Low ceiling, dark room, no view at all except of bushes outside window. I was so disappointed. Also the only hotel of 5 I stayed in in Europe that didn't provided breakfast in room charge, it was an additional 20 euros per person! I would not recommend this hotel. How it could put any guest in that room after its ads, is beyond me. Only hotel of my 19 day trip that is getting a bad review.

They helped settle us in our room, which was nice large and clean. We needed two rooms, both were right next to each other as we were a family of four.
