Absolutely BEAUTIF hotel and rooms. We had a wonderful stay, they very close to water taxis, shopping, the Rialto bridge, restaurants and a little local grocer. Staff was incredibly helpful and the breakfast is magnificent. We would definitely stay here again.

Enjoyed our time in Venice, breakfast was superb, hot and cold dishes to choose from, we had bacon and eggs, fruit salad with yoghurt, even traditional cakes to eat, plus the lovely hot cappuccino, rooms were lovely with a comfortable queen size bed, nice big shower area too, highly recommended.

Fantastic Hotel.

I have just returned from a weekend stay in one of the deluxe rooms. I could find no fault at all. The room was spotless and very comfortable with fantastic views over the canal. The staff were also fantastic, very professional and helpful. I will definitely book here agian when i return to Venice.

The checkin and all happens at the other sister hotel, for the first time we had a hard time finding Ca Marinella. Other than that, the room was nice and the AC worked. There were tons of mirrors in the rooms, the bed was a little hard on the back and the most interesting part was the key to the room was this big huge brass key that weighed a ton, so we dropped off at the main hotel every time we left the rooms, because we didn’t want carry that big key around

This property was great looked exactly as it did on the pictures. Unfortunately the beds were pretty uncomfortable as they were very firm but the pillows were rock hard as well which made for a very rough sleep. Our door keep also broke in the door but they were very quick to fix it while we walked about for about an hour. So overall it was a great hotel, good customer service and well maintained. Rooms were clean, the bathroom tiles had a bit of mildew on them but that did bother me but I know it would bother some people. The triple room we had was on the top floor and you could look out over one of the little canals it was very nice

The location was brilliant and the room was excellent. It felt like we had our own apartment. We didn't stay in the main hotel building, we stayed in room in a converted apartment 15 seconds away from the main hotel. The staff were nice and friendly. We couldn't have asked for more. There is a shop right next to the hotel, St Mark's Square is also a few minutes away by foot, although we took the water taxi.

Breakfast was a bit of a nightmare. Room is too small for the number of guests, is badly laid out, the continental breakfast is poor (pancakes & Omelettes from a machine) and the coffee delivery machine has to be slowest way ever to give coffe to a lot of people. WiFi just didn't work!

Free breakfast was amazing. Location is also amazing, and close to the main square where all the tourist attractions are. One woman at the front desk was unbelievably helpful in giving advice on how to travel/navigate the trains when my boyfriend and I had booked a 5am train ticket and needed to get to the station off the island. Cleanliness of the room was amazing. Loved the shower. Overall 10/10. Would recommend. The room is a bit smaller than you’d imagine, but you really don’t need the space when you’re gonna be out exploring Venice all day. But the bed wasn’t also comfy and the room is still a very decent size for two people.

Not the Hotel in the advert

Really disappointed with our choice, the hotel on the advert (Hotel Santa Marina), what we thought we’d booked, was not the hotel we were given. The booking came through as Ca Marinella, which is a guest house around the corner, but my partner didn’t notice. When we arrived to check in, we weren’t staying at either, we were put in a one room apartment above a shop, across the courtyard from the hotel!
This apartment interior was pictured in the original advert, but was made to look like it was one of the hotel rooms. There were no tea/coffee making facilities or English tv channels, which would have been ok if we were in the Hotel, but we couldn’t even get a hot drink from there to take back, so had to stay out each evening and literally come back just to sleep. We also had to walk across the courtyard each morning for breakfast.
On top of this, although the room looked spotless, we have both been bitten by bedbugs!
Although in a good area, definitely not worth the £200 + we paid per night.
Advert should highlight that although it shows the Hotel Santa Marina in the pics, this is not necessarily what you’ll will get, personally, I think it’s false advertising!

Ca Marinella is an annex of Hotel Santa Marina but don't let that put you off staying here. Located just around the corner, this hidden gem offers good value for money in a quiet but convenient area of Venice – the Rialto Bridge and boat stop are a short walk away. A continental breakfast is served in Hotel Santa Marina and offers a good selection of food.

We had a fabulous stay here, check in at main hotel Santa Marina and porter service across to Ca Marinella. Upstairs (no lift) to our room on 1st floor. Gorgeous room, dressing/lounge room, main bedroom and bathroom with walk in shower beautifully decorated. Would definitely stay there again.

After staying at 5 other wonderful hotels in Greece and Italy, we were very disappointed here. The staff was unfriendly, the air conditioning was broken, the pillows were like rocks, and worst of all the breakfast eggs, pancakes, and coffee were made by a machine! This is Venice, and you make food in a machine? Not ok!

The main hotel looked beautiful. Our room was about two streets down, which was more like staying in a flat than a hotel. Every morning we would walk over to the hotel for breakfast, which had a great choice of food and was in nice surroundings.
It's in a great location not far from the major sites, with lots of eating areas. 30 mins walk from the bus station. We got lost all the time, but always ended up at our hotel.
Our room was close to a small casino which was noisy sometimes. Asked to be moved but was told it would get quieter! No kettle but had hairdryer, soap ect, mini bar and TV (only in Italian).
Room and ensuite was small and basic. Was clean but the walls had black marks on it. Wanted to use a ' magic sponge' in it!!
Hotel was not cheap but maybe that's just Venice. Had the most amazing time in Venice, my best city break.

Good location for our stay- a good base from which to explore. It was a bit of a pain walking to the main hotel for breakfast in the rain in the mornings, but not a major issue! Lots of choice for a continental breakfast, I was missing fresh fruit juice though.
Room well presented and clean, bed and pillow a little hard for our taste, but that is just a personal preference.
Overall, a great stay.

We stayed in a lovely little annex that was part of the hotel in the same square. It's in a great location, close to everything and very quiet at night.
The breakfast was plentiful and had a lot of choice. It was clean and comfortable and I would definitely recommend this place to stay.

The hotel was really easy to find, less than 5 minutes away from the Rialto Bridge and a similar distance to St Marks Square - couldn't really get a better location. The room was clean and a good size (we opted for a standard room) and the air condiitioning worked brilliantly; even when it was 30 degrees outside the room was always cool. The breakfast was mainly pastries and the juice/coffee was from a machine, pretty standard for a 3* European hotel from my experience. Overall this hotel was a great place to stay and I would definitely go back.

This is an anex ***to the Santa Marina Hotel **** about 150 metres away. Room was fine and clean.
Breakfast was at the hotel with one Italian lady trying to cope by herself with a pleasant smile.
The breakfast was ok, but for a little more effort would have been as good as the other hotels we used with Hotel.com in Rome and Bologna.
A good location between St Mark's Square and Rialto bridge with Arsenale within easy walking distance. Excellent restaurants nearby and reasonably priced/quality. Close to Ospedale water bus stop (5-10 mins walk) from the Marco Polo Airport (which on the water bus does not take long).

A bit of a trek from the stations, and search to find it, but near St Marks square, lovely room, smart modern Italian style snd character, but slightly small and no view, YOU MUST CHECK IN AT THE HOTEL RECEPTION OPPOSITE THE SQUARE (The SANTA MARINA ) AS THERE IS NO RECEPTION JUST A LOCKED DOOR!! This should be stated on booking but isnt!!! Good breakfast. Good location. Enjoyed it.

Not pleasant. We were given a room in an annexe in a small empty passage so we felt unsecured to get there alone at night. The staff refused to give us a room inside the main hotel. At the beginning they said no available rooms but when I told them that I saw many available rooms online they admitted that we should pay the difference and didn't show any concern seeing us upset even when I told them that I'm not satisfied and I want to prevent writing a negative feedback of my stay they didn't care. In all other hotels they were so helpful and careful about customer's satisfaction

in a great neighborhood

We booked four separate rooms for my wife and I, and our three daughters and their partners. Rooms were spread out in three different buildings more or less next to each other in Campo Santa Marina (Santa Marina Square). All the rooms, and all the buildings in which they were located, were quite different, quirky, and fun. Not a traditional hotel, but Venice is not a traditional city. Wonderful location: less than ten minute quiet walk to nearby crowded tourist sites, while hotel itself in beautiful quiet neighborhood. Square contains local grocery store with fresh produce, filled with resident shoppers. Staff at hotel were friendly and gave great advice about a small family run neighborhood seafood restaurant where my family celebrated my wife's 61st birthday. Would return again.

The check in process was very smooth and easy but being showed to our room was a little confusing because it wasn't in the same building. Our room was around the block next to a canal. This aside.. The room is very Royal and the air con is great for the weather! Location wise was perfect as we walked past our hotel a few times a day to get to places. Only issue we encountered was getting from the water bus to the hotel. It was a 10 min walk up and down through narrow streets and stairs. We'd recommend getting a porter to walk your luggage through The crowds.

It's a nice small hotel. The location is good -- short walk from to St. Marco. The room was clean, however... Our room was \"upgraded\" when we arrive to a room on the 1st floor. However, the window was looking out to the dining room of the restaurant, not outside :(.

Since we didn't spend too much time in the room, and when the window was shut there wasn't much noise from the dining room -- we didn't mind. A nice view would be a plus though.

Venice is beautiful, and the hotel is secondary. This one was average. The worst parts were that none of the rooms have air to control in the room, so each guest must call the front desk to adjust the air. Half of the time, the desk workers don't adjust it how asked. Annoying!

The other bad thing is that the breakfast is well below average. The coffee is awful, and hardly any of the foot is worth eating. Not what you're looking for in Venice!

But on the positive side, the room was OK, and the location is excellent.

No wifi, no light, noisy; very disappointing

We chose this hotel based on the Expedia description. And it is riddled with errors.
We knew we weren't in the main hotel (the beautiful one in the main picture), but we weren't in 'another hotel' we were in a terraced house along the road. The decor was much the same as the photographs, but there was barely any natural light (opening, as it did, into a 'courtyard' four stories high and 1 metre across, and the wifi didn't reach the room. My computer told me it could see the wifi, but at 4% signal, it was never going to work.
And then our room was next door to the cleaner's changing room, which we found at 5.30 every morning when they arrived, talking, banging doors and lockers, so loudly that my daughter thought they had come into our room.
The positives were that the room was well maintained and cool, but it was so undesirable, we chose to avoid it except to sleep in (until 5.30, of course)
The staff were cool and off hand, the wifi passwords (which worked in the hotel) only worked some of the time, and the breakfast was disappointing, if standard fare for a Venetian hotel (we've been to Venice countless times, so we knew what to expect).
Overall, a hotel resting on the laurels of the main building, but get the Ca Marinella, and you won't get what is advertised.
Venice is too marvellous in itself to have ruined the trip, but the hotel (and the staff) did their best.

1) Although the room was not luxurious (you can pay for luxurious if you want) it was very nice. It was also cleaned well each day.

2) Most importantly, the front-desk staff was extraordinarily kind and helpful. I would stay here based on this alone.

3) Breakfast is really important to me, and I thought their offerings were really good. It was nice to start the day every day with a satisfying breakfast.

This was a nice and clean hotel. It was very near to Rialto Bridge, however it took us quiet a while to get to the location due to being unfamiliar with the area and not having proper directions whilst doing the reservations. The room and bathroom were nice and clean with aircon which really helped as it was very hot. The breakfast buffet had a nice variety and sufficiently served. Hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. Good value for our money.

This is one of the worst hotel experience I have ever had and I travel for a living. At first someone or something continued to knock on the walls for hours. Then a worker woke me up again to come in to turn my air conditioner off. lastly someone walked into my room while I was sleeping. All of this was after traveling 14 hours and prior to 7am Venice time. When addressing the issue with the hotel they
just said \"no, no one did this\". This is not what a female traveling alone wants to hear. Due to these issues I checked out immediately ...

Pretty much as advertised. Ca Marinella is the \"annex\" to the larger Santa Marina. The rooms were sparse but very clean and functional. Service through the main hotel was great and painless. The only drawback was the rather firm/hard mattress which was a bit of a challenge for my spouse with back issues.

The location is close to Rialto and St Marks but feels a bit off the beaten track. We had a few challenges getting back but that's Venice. All in all value for money, and good service but don't expect the Ritz.

We loved this hotel and all of the staff who were very helpful and friendly. Very clean and lovely cosy Venetian decor.
The location was perfect, it's about a 5min walk from the Rialto Bridge where there is also a water bus stop. It's in a lovely square and we were able to get across Venice as far as Garibaldi Square very easily on foot.

great location 5 to 10 minutes walk to rialto or st marks square , although no vacancies at main hotel , stayed in next block , quaint and although smaller . very clean , very comfy beds , but due to stairs not for the weak hearted . staff were very nice , breakfast to suit all in main hotel , which was a good start to the day , depends how long your visit is . we bought a combined 3 day venezia,unica card which allowed unlimited travel on the bus to and from the airport to piazza roma and travel on the extensive vaporetto ( water bus ) which was very frequent , instead of sore back and feet , we used the vaporetto to travel around and to sightsee , leaving the walking for the good bits . our hotel staff gave us excellent information on this which was spot on , thanks again

Venice is my favorite spot. The hotel location is fantastic, as it is central but at the same time not touristy. There's a supermarket, a couple of nice restaurants and a pastry shop right opposite the hotel. The included breakfast was a serious matter, the inside and outside dining areas are clean and classy. I enjoyed my stay at this beautiful hotel. Fyi it's actually called Santa Marina, it's a 4*.

We stayed here for 3 nights. its located separate from the hotel. its in the same square as the main hotel. there are only two rooms in this location with a down stairs sitting area. we thought it was great. very clean and comfortable. Located between the Rialto bridge and San Marco square. We'd stay here again.

Lovely hotel, perfect location.

The perfect hotel in which to base yourself whilst exploring Venice. Make sure you check in at the main hotel (they don't make that clear) and then they'll tell you exactly where you're staying. Some very helpful and friendly staff, delicious breakfasts and lovely rooms. Highly recommended!

Friendly service by reception staff

The hotel is clean & well sited for all amenities. The rooms are well presented & clean but the fly in the ointment was noise, particularly from upstairs where there seemed to be an absence of soft flooring & the occupants insisted on dragging furniture & hacking. There were staff shortages in the dining room so that they were surly. However, reception staff went out of their way to be helpful. The breakfast was plentiful & varied. There's a shop for provisions opposite which was really handy. A good experience!

Nice hotel, good service

This is a nice hotel in a good location for connections to airport and water taxis. The staff were very helpful and very nice and polite. The only issue was the hot breakfast choice, not very good at all. Nice and quiet, comfy beds and in good decorative order.

stayed for 3 nights- lovely rooms - in the side street- so perfect for us as we needed noise free dark room for a good sleep and absolutely got that. breakfast was included short walk to Samta Marina for Breakfast- overall would recommend it.

quick trip to Venice

The hotel was nicer than we had expected. Tough to find at first (as is everything in Venice) but it was a very convenient location for what we wanted to see and do. The hotel looked like they had made some updates to make it more comfortable. The breakfast was very nice especially sitting outside on the patio. They were very accomodating for travelers, and allowed us to leave our luggage at the hotel after we had checked out, which was nice for us especially since we wanted to explore. Overall, the price was great, andit really suited our needs. We really enjoyed our stay.

Good hotel within easy reach of attractions

A pleasant hotel within easy reach of San Marco and the Rialto Bridge. The hotel staff are pleasant, friendly, and helpful in directing you towards attractions. The room was very nice with excellent bathroom facilities.
My only gripe with this hotel is their breakfast offerings, which are spartan and not well staffed.

Lovely Hotel

We were in Venice from the 10th to 12th March 2014. I found this hotel online and the rooms looked really nice from the photos. I've not been to Venice before and I was pleasantly surprised how lovely they were. The staff were very helpful and the main hotel where you had your breakfast was clean and inviting. These rooms are separate to the main hotel and are literally 30 seconds away. There is a small supermarket opposite, so keep your windows shut at night unless you want to get woken up early with the deliveries, although this isn't really a problem. I would definitely come back to this hotel and recommend it for a short city break. The breakfast had the normal cold ham, cheese, fresh fruit, coffees and juice, lots of croissants and various cakes, as well as hot scrambled eggs, sausages and bubble and squeak fritters which was a great way to set you up for the day.

Hotel super bem localizado em Veneza, passeamos muito a pé. Café da manhã bem gostoso, funcionários excelentes. Atenção apenas para que é um \"anexo\" do hotel santa marina (onde fica a recepção e café da manhã), mas é no mesmo quarteirão. Parte ruim é que tem muita escada e sem elevador (nesse anexo do Ca marinela). Para nós não foi um problema.

Très bonne expérience. La chambre était très propre et fonctionnelle. Pas très grande mais suffisament pour le temps que l'on y passe.
Très bonne literie et douche à l'italienne très agréable.
Le petit déjeuner était copieux et très bon.
Le personnel de cuisine et de l'hôtel, très agréable et avenant. Je reviendrais avec joie !
Un magasin coop a proximité pour y faire ses courses est très agréable !
