This apartment is gorgeous!!! Close to St Mark’s Square. We had the 2 bedroom 2 bathroom option and it was clean and spacious. Luckily there was a cafe close by so my daughter could wait with our luggage while I checked in as check in is at a different location about a 10 minute walk. I would highly recommend this if you have large suitcases as it’s cumbersome to go over all the bridges with large suitcases. Would stay here again!!

Access to the property is a little bit unusual in that you need to check in at a hotel first and then move over to the actual apartment, but instructions were very clear and easy to follow and the staff at the hotel were very welcoming and helpful. Apartment is exactly as described, very clean and quiet, and in an area of Venice very easily walkable to the major tourist areas while still being very calm and quiet. Exactly what we needed!

The suggestion from hotel cavalieri staff to walk our luggage to the apartment was absurd. Rolling a 29\" luggage and wheely carryon over bridges with stairs is ridiculous and very contrary to a 1st class experience we paid 85 euros to have a water taxi to collect us from the apartment

The check in process is absolutely the worst EVER. They have you go to the primary location first to check in to then proceed to your apartment which is located across Venice. This becomes rather challenging when you don't really know where you are going. Traveling with a child, a woman in her 70's along with one other individual while carrying 4 medium size suitcases weighing ~ 40lbs. With all the steps and bridges throughout Venice makes it almost impossible with dealing with the heat. We had to pay 72 Euros for water taxi to be dropped off at Rinalto taxi drop then pay another 85 Euros to get taken around to the apartment location. The front desk concierge didn't seem to care all that much about our situation worn out, hot and exhausted trying to figure out where we needed to go and carrying all of our luggage. Then proceeded to tell me that the information of the check in process is located in Expedia. There is somewhat of check in desk at the Apartment location, I don't understand why they couldn't ask your arrival time and have someone meet you at apartment location or have something set up with Water Taxi service on them to pay if they want you going to both locations. The apartment was nice. The check in process ruined all good vibes of our stay in Venice. We did take a tour that was nice and showed us around all the great places of Venice.

The appartement is very comfortable for a family with 2 kids and well localized. Our stay was good overall. They were only 2 things that bother us a bit : it's a bit dark inside the flat and the water pressure should be controlled : during our shower, they weren't not lots of water and we had randomly cold / hot water.

Wonderful Week in Venice
our stay at Bailo was superb. It was an ideal location handy for all the tourist areas without being overwhelmed by people. The area was more residentail and small business so we felt we got to know what life is like in Venice.
The apartment was very modern and quiet with all the necessary facilities including 2 full bathrooms in a very old building and area.
The staff were very helpful and cleaning was frequent.
The only thing missing was a laundary facility or access to a washing Machine.

We had some challenges getting the water bus upon arrival and lost hours on our boat bus pass because of it. This was annoying but had nothing to do with the place we stayed. Just note once you activate your card on day passes, you're running the clock.
We didn't really use the kitchen much but it was there. The fridge came in handy.
One thing I didn't like was it appeared you're not supposed to adjust the temperature on the thermostat. Only turn it on and off. The problem with that is that in the heat outside, I found the apartment to be freezing if the AC was left on. Too cold.

The apartment was spacious and amazing with a lovely view of canal and square. The area was a little more out of the way so nice and quiet. Getting in with the Bluetooth key was a bit unsettling and didn’t work right away. We were constantly worried about it working because it took several seconds to open the door. The water pressure on main floor shower was poor but master bedroom was fine. Overall would come again

I wasn’t at all sure what to expect from this property when I booked, but I cannot say enough great things about this place. Our apartment was beautiful and had so much more space than I expected. Very well maintained and very clean. It is in a gorgeous location right on a canal, and very quiet. Only about a 10 minute walk to the nearest vaparetto station no matter which line you are trying to get on. A 3-4 minute walk to several good dining options with seating on the water. We were arriving well before check-in time and they arranged for us to be able to drop our luggage at their partner hotel for storage at no cost. I highly recommend staying here and will most definitely book again next time I visit Venice.

This is a beautiful apartment, well-located (just off the beaten path but close enough to be interesting) and a great option for families. Window screens would have helped with mosquitoes. Check in and out are contactless, but they do have an arrangement with a local hotel in case you need to store luggage etc. We had a great stay. (An app on your phone is your roomkey.)

Unfortunately stayed here during the flooding and it would have been so good to have a receptionist..the reception phone was not working but this was an unusual disaster for Venice. The apartment was beautiful and very clean. So near all the main tourist areas and very near a supermarket that sold everything you would need. Only disappointment...no Prosecco in the fridge. If we ever come to Venice again we will stay here. Fabulous even under difficult conditions.

Had a HORRIBLE check in process. No sort of instruction was given as to how to check in. I arrived to the place exhausted and just wanted to rest. Once we figured out how to contact someone we were told that they sent numerous emails confirming my stay even though VRBO site showed confirmed. For the record, there was NO email sent. I checked several times for this said email. Also why did they not send a message via VRBO? The hotel that was managing the property told us that they would give us the code once the taxes were paid and once they receive an email with a copy of everyones passport. Why wasn't this taken care of before if there was nobody on the property to check them? Once that was all squared away they gave us the code. I was pretty upset at the check in process but the fact that they allowed us late check out made me feel better about this process. Aside from the nightmare check in process, this place was beautiful and in a great location.

Al Bailo was great, however because it is an apartment and not a hotel, you dont have staff ready at all times. You can call the hotel (Hotel Ai Cavalieri) when you need assistance. Location is great, 10 min walk to Duomo, 2 min walk to grocery, and nearby restaurants and shops too.

This property advises once you pay online for it that they will send you information for check in if you cannot make the allotted time they specified. Two emails direct to the hotel directly, 4 calls to Expedia etc. we never received the information. Upon arrival in Venice the doors were closed and we had to get a room elsewhere. They advertise a no cancellation refund policy. I have been fighting for a while now to get our money back to no avail. Trust me when I say I will continue to try to get these funds back as there was nothing given for the money paid. I would recommend you look elsewhere for a hotel in Venice.

This spot was relatively convenient to get too, although if we didn't provide our passport information (pictures) and pay a cleaning fee and taxes before arrival (which I thought was strange), we were required to go to a hotel beforehand which was a bit inconvenient, but being able to leave our luggage at the hotel and walk around the city before going to the airport made up for it. The building and neighborhood was relatively quiet. We'd stay here again.

I arrived late due to uncontrolled delay in my flight. I was getting to the hotel to check into the apartment later then I expected but it was out of my control. When I had arrived the man working the concierge had a nasty attitude to me before we even began. He told me the code to the apartment and then I was on my way to the apartment with my large 20kg bag and 4 other friends. When we arrived to the apartment the key code would not work and we tried multiple times. When this did not work, we called the hotel and politely told the man at the front desk who we had just met with that this code was not opening the front door. He proceeded to yell the code back in the phone telling us that it worked for everyone else and that we were just wrong. At this point it was around 4am and he was not willing to help us because he could not leave the hotel. Luckily, we came across three police officers who all tried the key code, which didn’t work for them either, and helped us call the hotel to reassure the man that the code did not work. He then was even yelling at the police officer. She had told us to go back to the hotel and that the man was going to call the owner and see what there was to do. Finally, at 5am the front desk man had called a man to come enter the apartment and we got into the apartment. He tried to apologize by inviting us for a free breakfast but I cannot believe I even paid for the night that I was locked out of my apartment and did not get to bed until 6am.

Nice rooms and decor but the beds were abit too soft and sunk in the middle. The reception Mr Andre was extremely kind and nice and offered help when needed. They always changed our towels for fresh ones and cleaned out our trash. I do wish the floor was occasionally swept as it became very dusty after 3-4 days.
Otherwise, it's modern, has a beautiful view of the Canal (if you choose canal facing room) and a convenient location with restaurants all around and San Marco just 5 mins walk away. The only thing I feel was missing was a in house laundrette or a washer in the room. The public laundrette was pretty far to walk when carrying clothes and in winter.

Superb Luxury Apartments
We had a marvellous two week stay at Al Bailo. Our apartment was welcoming, warm, clean and comfortable. It definitely exceeded our expectations. A good supply of teas, coffees, biscuits, jams and condiments. The shower is large with a good range of toiletries, toilet rolls and soft white towels. The apartment consisted of double comfortable bed, bathroom, kitchen with hob, large fridge freezer, dishwasher with tablets and hand washing up liquid if needed, plenty of cutlery, crockery and utensils. A lounge with a three seater sofa, table chairs and a large wall mounted TV. Because we had a longer stay the bed linen and towels were changed regularly or if needed when requested. Andrea could no have been more welcoming and helpful throughout our stay providing us with maps marking supermarkets (2 mins walk or 5 to the co-op) restaurants, on the doorstep, churches, vaporettos, churches etc. Also for any other concerns you might have. The tides were high when we stayed and Andrea even offered overshoes if needed. A fantastic service by him. He made our stay special and relaxing and we thank him so much. Also a mention to the hard working housekeeping staff who provide a high standard of cleanliness. We will definitely be returning and would not hesitate to recommend. The upstair apartments have wonderful views of Rio di San Lorenzo and the gondolas. Apartment 104 also gas a balcony.

I do not believe we got the flat we saw on the web site because I would never have booked a room with 2 double beds in it. The hotel was good once we found it. We struggled with the directions that were emailed to us. I was traveling with my son who has a great sense of direction and we still went round and round in circles. Every time we stopped to ask someone we received different directions. Property was in the heart of Venice. No transport needed everything was accessible on foot. Incredibly easy to get to St Marks Basilica. Beautiful scenery with hidden gems at every corner. We went with two children who enjoyed the atmosphere, a gondola ride is a must although the guy on our gondola spoke no English and was not engaging so we didn't really get a commentary. But none the less we were there to enjoy ourselves - which we did. Off on our next trip which is to Berlin.

We had such a pleasant stay and wished we had more than 1 night. Beautiful and spacious 1 bedroom apt with modern bathrooms and comfortable bed (even the sofa bed was comfy). Our room was ready upon our arrival at 1:30p and room was air conditioned (which was a godsend from the horrible heat and humidity). Friendly and knowledgeable staff who gave us recommendations on restaurants and transportation. We received detailed info re: directions to hotel and check-in info and access code to appt) via email prior to our stay. Kitchen was fully equipped with refrigerator, coffee machine, utensils, glasses and plates (although we did not use them). We absolutely enjoyed our stay and would definitely return. We recommend staying here (convenient location-close to San Marco square and restaurants). Stay here and you won’t regret it!

A bright and sunny apartment, overall very good. Overlooking a canal which was nice. The only criticism would be that they charge an additional cleaning fee on top.of the accommodation cost. My husband did the booking and had forgotten about this being additional to pay when we arrived. The room was for us, very expensive and it would be expected that the final cleaning cost should be incorporated into your room fee. It was not insubstantial at 40 euros. We did a bit of cooking in the flat so given all this, we were not impressed to find some of the cutlery with old food on them which we had to wash before using!
