Palazzo Schiavoni Suite-Apartments is located a few steps from Piazza San Marco, in a vital but quiet area of the city, not far from the Waterbus and the Biennale where you will find museums, renowned restaurants, bars, excellent pastry shops and shops for your shopping. Overlooking a typical canal, Palazzo Schiavoni dates back to the 15th century and has been completely renovated and equipped with a lift.

The electrics cut out if you use the hob with any other appliance, so that’s annoying. My only real gripe was that a cleaner didn’t come around even once during our stay.

It was our first visit to Venice. This location was perfect for exploring, within 5/6 minutes walk of St Mark's square and 5 mins walk to get airport transfers at the Lagoon. It's a quiet, characterful area. The apartment was perfect for us. Very clean and had everything we needed. A good supermarket just over the bridge too. All staff were very friendly and helpful. We would highly recommend it. Loved Venice.

I chose this hotel for its proximity to the Arsenale, which was perfect. It is about a 10 minute walk to the hotel from the Alilaguna stop, which wasn't bad (even in the rain), and the staff were good about communicating the opening hours beforehand. My room was nothing spectacular, clean and simple, but I appreciated the complimentary drinks and the garden view. The breakfast was excellent, with bread, meat, cheese, yogurt, fruit, egg, juice, and hot chocolate (the latter at my request).

Our family of four stayed in 1 bedroom apartment with sofa bed. It was large and perfect for our needs including a full kitchen we barely used. The location was excellent for us as we wanted to visit San Marco/ Rialto areas (short walk), and Murano/ Burano (short walk to boats to these islands). Airport drop off and pick up by boat also were easy walks. The main reason I gave such high marks was the excellent and friendly service from EVERY member of staff. They were so helpful and spoke English great. Their kitchen was being remodeled so they delivered our breakfast each morning which was really nice. On our 3rd day, the Aqua Alta tide set upon Venice in the worst way since 1966. The staff communicated very well about the power needing to be cut and entry/ exit times. We had to spend a few extra hours in the hotel than we planned the last 2 days of the trip but we’re largely unimpacted thanks to the great staff. I would highly recommend to any family requiring 2 beds. When we left the staff was working hard to mitigate the damage of the water to the entry way - we felt bad about how the water had impacted so many businesses. We hope everything is ok now and that there will be better days ahead. We are grateful that our room was not impacted as it was not on street level.

The Palazzo Schiavoni is a little bit of a walk from the San Marco/Zaccaria Vaporetto dock, but it’s worth it. There are really great restaurants just around the corner going either way. There’s a fruit stand not too far away also. The air conditioning worked very well. We didn’t cook in the kitchen, but used the refrigerator a lot. The breakfast was included and was very good. They had yummy croissants, bread, fruit, eggs, cheese, and meat. Cappuccino was also included and very tasty!

The photos of this hotel on line look amazing-just what you would imagine traditional Venetian decor to be. I was disappointed at check in to find out that my reservation was for an apartment (not in any of the photos online) located on the bottom level of the hotel. I was fine an apartment, but not fine with the fact that the accommodations were nothing like those advertised online. The room was musty, drab and dismal. And, no complimentary breakfast included contrary to what was listed on my reservation. The staff was welcoming and the room spacious, but fell short of my expectations. I recommend to be cautious when booking to take note if your reservation is actually at the hotel or in the apartment.

The Palazzo Schiavoni was very well-located for seeing Milan, close to St. Mark’s but really in a local neighborhood. So much so that when we took a walking tour with a local guide, all of us were surprised to find we were practically neighbors, as he lived about 1000 feet further down the ria. Of course, we were in a hotel room and he occupied the entire top floor of a huge palazzo left to him by his grandmother.
Schiavoni was a wonderful stay, the owner was so friendly and helpful, as were her staff. Room was smallish but comfortable and when you left a window open overnight, you awoke to the sounds of the neighborhood waking up. Delightful.
Breakfast was, well, elegant. More than enough to start the day, and included with the room.
We arrived in Venice by train and took the vaporetto to the San Zaccaria stop, a five minute walk from the hotel. But a friend of ours, who recommended the hotel to us, has some mobility issues and was able to take a water taxi to the front door, as the Schiavoni is located canalside. There is an elevator, but one would encounter a couple of steps at locations throughout the property, so a potential guest might want to take that into account.
Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our five day stay and would be happy to return, and to return to that beautiful, quickly, and captivating city.

Palazzo Schiavoni is in a perfect location. Less than 10 mins walk from all of the main attractions. Our welcome was lovely and the hotel is really nice. We booked a family room and much to our surprise we had 2 bedrooms and a separate bathroom, which were all beautifully decorated. Breakfast was lovely, with the room overlooking a canal. On arriving the lady at reception gave us a map and marked all the main things to see and commended some restaurants. She asked if we need any trip booked, and gave us the options for river trips, and river buses. Every morning and afternoon you got the same friendly welcome. We will definitely stall here when we go back to Venice. Thank you for a lovely stay.

This was a bit challenging to find the first time. The hotel had send an information package about the hotel with a map [which was very helpful] and suggested events that were happening in Venice while we were there.

Excellent from start to finish. Arrived after normal check in time and clear instructions were given on how to access the apartments . The room was of good size for a European city, not too big or too small. Breakfast was served each morning with a smile and a ciao! The bed was comfortable and the room had free aircon/heating. Room was cleaned daily and clean towels/toiletries were provided daily. Friendly staff, great location, and would definitely stay again!

We enjoyed our stay at Palazzo Schiavoni. It was very clean, and all the staff were very pleasant, helpful, and accommodating. It was slightly noisy at times (right on the canal) but truly not bad at all. Our only complaint would be the bed and pillows, all quite firm, but that seemed pretty uniform for all the hotels we stayed at in 3 weeks. It was an easy walk to all the tourist areas, which we appreciated. We would stay here again without hesitation. Our thanks to everyone there !

A small informal hotel with comfortable beds, great airconditioning (necessary in July), very considerate staff with an excellent continental breakfast and coffee. We really liked our location in Venice. We were tucked away from the crazy crowding in the more popular areas of the city, but could still get to the sights in a short walk. We had contacted the hotel ahead of time asking about laundry, and they made sure we were in a room with a Washer! Some of the staff were very nice, some were kind of rigid. The age of the room showed, but we were still pretty happy overall with our set up. We'd come back.

We have been here several times in the past, but not for a few years. It is evident that a few corners have been cut since our last stay. The staff are very accommodating and the room was clean and comfortable. However, we were given a room at the back of the hotel and it smelt damp and there were damp patches on the ceiling. On reflection we should have asked to be moved. They had much nicer rooms in the past higher up and at the front of the hotel, but they did not seem to be available. Breakfast was pleasant, but there was no variety from day to day and the selection of fruit on offer was poor ( apples, oranges and kiwi fruit in a city where you have an abundance of fruit in the local market). There are no tea and coffee making facilities in the rooms. I still think the hotel is worth a visit, but it is quite expensive. Very close to all attractions, but quiet too. Ask for a room at the front or high up and at the front.

Great location for seeing sights of Venice. Just of beaten track in quiet location but in easy reach of main sights. Ten minutes walk from Arsenale and Zan Zaccaria water bus stops. Easy to find from map kindly supplied by hotel. Lots of restaurants and shops nearby. We were a party of three and had a room with 2 single beds and another room with one bed and a very nice large bathroom. Bed linen and towels were spotless. There was a bath in bathroom but only the shower could be used but this worked very well. A code is used to go in and out of building and this made things feel very secure. Breakfast was sufficient. Tea ,coffee,orange juice and water supplied. Cereals,boiled eggs,fruit,yogurt,ham,cheese,bread rolls,croissants,jams,honey. We were very satisfied with this. The staff were pleasant and very obliging and I would recommend staying here. An ideal spot a bit away from it all.

In the quiet and clean part of Venice, very safe, but still close to everything! I loved the location... allowed for aimless wandering and discovery, yet close to the sights, stores and restaurants! Staff very pleasant and attentive, comfortable rooms, large bathroom. Love that each room had murano glass chandeliers and painted ceilings. Breakfast was a wonderful way to wake up and plan the day... tea room had another painted ceiling and beautiful chandelier. Only problem was that sound carries and you could hear noises from the hallway and other rooms... not a problem for me, but I'm sure the other guests didn't appreciate my loud teenagers.

Palazzo Schiavoni is a very cosy palazzo hotel close to everywhere one might want to go in Venice (7-10 minutes to Sn Marco, Rialto Brg., Arsenal, ect.). Me and my 8 years old son stayed there for about a week during the carnival and felt so happy to choose Palazzo Schiavoni. Everything was perfect and so handy. Super friendly, careful and helpful staff! Mean it. Great hotel location right at the canal, cosy atmosphere, clean palazzo style rooms with high beautifully painted ceilings and huge vintage mirrors. They have all modern conveniences you might need in your hotel room. Very fast free Wi-Fi internet everywhere in the hotel. Great buffet style breakfast are served in the stylish home-like dining room. Fresh fruits, juices of choice and soya milk! Great italian coffee and hot chocolate. Definitely recommend it to everyone who is looking for optimal accommodation in the very heart of Venice.
