Hotel Savoia & Jolanda, Venice, Italy – November 2024 3 nights stay.
This was my second stay at Hotel Savoia & Jolanda, and I returned with three family members who were visiting Venice for the first time. The hotel’s customer service is exceptional—the staff is attentive and eager to make your stay enjoyable.
While the hotel has a charming Venetian character, it could benefit from some renovations in certain areas. One issue we faced was the room temperature. Despite it being November, it was surprisingly warm, and the air conditioning wasn’t working. The hotel provided us with an electric fan, which helped a little, but it was still uncomfortable at night. Unfortunately, opening the windows for fresh air wasn’t an option due to mosquitos, which was disappointing.
That said, the bed was comfortable, and we stayed in a junior suite with a balcony overlooking the canal, which was a highlight. Waking up to the views of the water and the lively activity below was an incredible experience.
Overall, I would stay here again but would choose the winter months for a more comfortable room temperature. The location, service, and views make it a wonderful place to stay in Venice, but the heat in the fall can detract from the experience.

This was my third time staying at hotel and i won't be returning. The breakfast buffet was one of my least favorite in touring Italy. The hotel turns air off so no air for 3 days. Rooms are nice but very noisy since we needed to open for lack of air. Gave porter $20 euros to bring our 3 bags to water taxi but he dissappeared when our water taxi arrived. The front desk noticed our frustration but offered no assistance or concern . We carried our own bags! On a high note we ate at one of best restaurants in Venice, Da Ivo!! Great food and Friendly Chef!

Wonderful hotel in a central location in Venice. The staff were amazing, we had a Junior Suite with a balcony that overlooked the lagoon and it was gorgeous. The room was large as was the bathroom and the balcony was an added bonus.
Well located with the water taxi and water bus stopping right out the front made it very easy to get to and from the airport and over to the other islands.
Also very walkable to all the attractions in Venice, we were very happy and would definitely stay here again.

I can’t believe the property we arrived at is the same pictured everywhere online. The room that was given to us wasn’t pictured anywhere online. The hotel was dark and dingy. The hallways looked like a horror movie, pulled carpet, yellowed tiles on the ceiling… then we get to our room. Not just old… decrepit. I have no idea how this is considered a 4-star hotel. We didn’t get in until 11pm because of some transportation issues, but scoured the city for anywhere else to sleep- which we found- at 12:30am, and happily left. They didn’t refund us, which I guess could be expected. I was happy to lose $600 to not stay there.

The hotel is right in front of the Ferry-easy to get to with luggage. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. The room was beautiful with high ceilings and wood beams. The bed was very roomy.The hotel was walkable to most of the sights. The VIP package with Expedia provided breakfast daily and complimentary champagne. We could not have asked for anything better in Venice.

Love this hotel. Located on the canal and A short walk to San Marco Square. convenient to the express ferry from the train station. We had a water facing room with a balcony - just fabulous. Prove reasonable compared to other options. Great for a short stay. Romantic journey etc. you are steps away from wherever you want to be.

This is a wonderful hotel. Very centrally located without feeling claustrophobic, since the grand canal and a beautiful view is right outside the door. It was supposed to be a 4-star hotel. The first room they tried to put me in was at best a 2. The second room maybe a three. I did not buy the cheapest room. The first room was a closet with a view of a construction tent 3 feet away. The 2nd room was a little biger with a view of another building 4 feet away.The hotel is not in good shape. The bathroom has been updated. The shower is barely big enough to stand in.There are no usable electric sockets in the bathroom. The sockets in the bedroom were so old that the plugs fell out of the wall and were not near the bed or bathroom. A friend upgraded to a water view. It was a better room but hundreds of dollars more expensive, and it still did not meet 4-star standards. The employees were kind and helpful, but the hotel needs a lot of work.

40th wedding anniversary stay.
We were in Venice to start our 40th wedding Anniversary celebrations. The hotel location was great unfortunately we had no view could not open curtains as brick wall right outside, but that was the chance I guess. I was surprised in this day and age no USB charging devices in the room although it had tea, coffee etc. the phone was old and could be updated with new one with a USB charger on it. While the hotel is in a great location it is a little tired the carpets definitely showing ware and tear. Staff were all excellent especially Hans at check in.

We loved our stay at the hotel Savoia & Jolanda. We had a beautiful suite with terraces overlooking the lagoon and the views were spectacular. The breakfast was fantastic and having an outdoor restaurant downstairs at the hotel was also great. The staff were mostly cordial and helpful, however, I chipped a filling on a front tooth the night we arrived and asked the front desk for help finding a dentist on a Saturday and while they said they were trying to find me an office that was open I ended up finding one on my own (who by the way was fantastic and did a great job) and as we were leaving for my appointment we saw the two gentlemen at the front desk busy chattering (definitely not busy searching for a dentist for me) and no one ever got back to me or inquired about my situation. The lobby and the hallways of the hotel are in definite need if refurbishing, but the rooms and bathrooms are all beautifully and tastefully renovated. Our only complaint: the shower didn't have a barrier to contain the water and the water would be all over the bathroom floor (for which we had to use lots of towels to dry). This is commonly seen in hotels in Italy and really baffles me as an unexplainable phenomenon easily fixable by either putting a barrier on the floor or adding a glass door! The location is close to hundreds of restaurants and shopping options as it's a 2 minute walk to St. Mark's Square. Also one can take the Vaporetto to Mestre right across from the hotel.

The hotel is in the center of Venice. It is very easy to go around the area. The hotel service is excellent. I’d suggest to prepare mosquito plug or installing window screens as we were bitten in the room.

The staff all deliver above and beyond in terms of service, especially Hans the concierge and the woman who manages breakfast (who didn't seem to have a name tag). The location is perfect for all the major sights, for the vaporetto, and for the boat to the airport. Both of the latter stop right in front of the hotel.

Although you can’t beat the location, I don’t recommend if you need a soft mattress. This hotel has the hardest mattress I’ve ever slept on and I like a firm mattress. The hotel staff were very nice and helpful.

This hotel was ideally situated for everything we wished to do in Venice. It's a short walk to St. Mark's Square. We had a spectacular view of the laguna from our room. The staff, specifcally Ernst and Mattia, were extremely helpful and accommodating, advising us from the moment we arrived, including getting us to the hotel from the train station. The water taxis and water buses are right in front of the hotel. The daily breakfast was incredible with a great selection of food available and the wait staff were very attentive.

From moment walked through the front door, the S&J was outstanding. Hans at the front desk got us checked in quickly with the utmost professionalism. The porter got our bags to our rooms quickly. Rooms were spacoius and housekeeping always kept clean. Breakfast was of good quality. Upon leaving, Hans got us a water taxi to the train station promptly, and the porter got the bags from the hotel to the taxi stand quickly.

Very soundproof with dark electric shades for sleeping on a king bed. Really nice lobby & friendly, helpful staff. A very nice restaurant is attached with large breakfast buffet. The buffet is delicious - scrambled eggs, ham, lots of breads & pastries, lots of fresh cut fruits, fruit juices, coffee, tea, etc, nicely laid out. This is a great place to stay, particularly for first-time Venice visitors. It is easy to get to, right in front of a major hub for transportation (via boat), and is close to St. Mark’s Square and Basilica and a pretty easy walk to many of Venice’s best known sites (Bridge of Sighs, Doge Palace, Rialto Bridge, etc.). The room was quite a bit smaller than we anticipated and the air-conditioning in the room did not work. It was chilly outside, so opening the windows worked fine, except we had quite a few mosquitoes fly in to the room when we opened the windows, so that was a conundrum. The staff were great, super helpful and responsive to our questions and requests. Bed is quite firm, just FYI. Definitely would recommend!

I traveled solo for the first time in Aug2021 unsure what to expect. Hotel Savoia & Jolanda exceed my expectations. It was worth the cost. My flight came in late and I was worried about transportation. The front desk clerk was able to walk me through how to purchase the ticket for transportation and saved me from purchasing private transportation. When I arrived my room was clean and ready. I slept well and had breakfast the next morning (the breakfast service was a bit chaotic but still good). The location is in a central location and I was able to walk to all the tours I booked and take breaks in the AC from the heat. I will stay there again!!

It was a good experience with my daughter tho a little bit disappointed as we are expecting to be hosted in the main hotel overlooking the canal bit they put as in the hotel wing. The room is not soundproof and we can hear the people talking in the hallway and in the other room. Overall it is clean and comfortable. The staff were friendly.

I booked my stay for this hotel, through hotels.com on Christmas Eve 2019. The Corona virus lock downs started three months later. Out of all of the companies I booked various travel with Hotels.com was the only one that would not give me a refund of any kind. The airline, cruise line, Air bnb, even the car rental company gave refunds, but not Hotels.com. I have no idea how great this lovely hotel is because Americans couldn't even travel to the EU in August of 2020, but I do know I won't bother ever using Hotels.com again.
