Couldn’t drop bags there is no one at the property before 3pm, very frustrating, service was very average as you couldn’t contact them at all. Killed the day of arrival.

Staff was wonderful and Stefon was so kind and helpful after we missed our ferry. He waited several hours to check us in at 1am. Lovely, quaint area.

Not far from Rialto Bridge, it's a place convenient to all locations and within walking distance to a multitude of restaurants, from the average to the superb. Of course it's Venice, so walking the calli at night will only add to the pleasure of already being there. The property is nice, albeit not overly spacious: our window faced the calle and you could hear the distinctive local language of Goldoni spoken, especially at night, somewhat loud at first, as families were out, then lighter and lighter to full silence at around 11pm, almost a theatrical piece where the characters move away from the stage one by one, slowly, to none. That actually made the place even more intimate. The life of the place, however, was our concierge: alas, i can't remember his name for the life of me, by his distinctive Florentine/Tuscan accent stood out, as he was explaining to us the ins and outs of the place and the neighborhood. He clearly loved the place and sounded truly vested into it, which translated into a great deal of positive energy about it. Any negatives? Well, the quality of the coffee served in the morning could be easily improved by changing the capsules used or its dilution. But fear not, within a few blocks, there are superb coffee bars with a never-ending variety of fresh pastries and croissants for your delight. Would I return? In a heartbeat.

No staff between 9pm and 2pm, you are on your own and have to tailor your schedule to fit theirs. Thin walls. Noise from other rooms after 11pm. Extra fees for fresh towels. It said free WiFi, but it was non-existent and when I asked about it, they told me that I had not paid for it. Beware of extra taxes above and beyond what you are quoted as your final cost.

Friendly and clean. Recommended.

Check in was nice and easy, the guy that was there (we should have gotten his name) was friendly and had a lot of good information for us. He suggested places to eat, routes to the airport, etc. He is there from 2pm to 9pm. This is a pretty good window. The location is right near the basilica and there's a wonderful little cafe on the corner. It was a nice stay, we would stay again.

My stay was fabulous. Check in was easy and smooth. However, when I called the number to ask info about how to get there, the guy said “everything is on your confirmation letter” in a very rude way coz the guy raised his voice when i said i dont get it. Was very mad about that

Very close to a beautiful square

Hotel is in a quiet area away from the crowds but not too far. Some good restaurants near by and cheaper than the main tourist drag. Room was a good size and the bathroom was large. Breakfast was cheap but the room was a little dark. I would stay here again.

Woman up front was a pulpit to her boss. After first night blood on pillow case from mosquito bite. She said sheets can only be changed every 3 days. Eventually I talked her in to a fresh one. Tiny room with descent location. Decent breakfast but does not come w room. Had to pay for it. Also had to pay $5 per night for towels and they were not changed either. Would definitely not stay here again

Basic locanda for a few days in Venice

Nice small hotel, with everything you need. Its quiet and situated in a not very busy street. They offer breakfast at a competitive price. Its central, and near some more affordable places to eat than more western areas of the city.

the Locanda which needs no Propaganda

As mentioned above, no complaints about the comfortable hotel, reasonable rates and excellent and friendly staff.

The only problem was locating the Locanda ! Perhaps if first time intending guests were recommended to hire a porter at the Rialto, it would solve this problem.

B & B style hotel, handy location

Simple hotel offering B & B facilities. Clean & tidy in a good location for the Ospedale water boat stop and only 15 minutes or so away from the major attractions in Venice. The hotel was also in a quiet area but only a couple of minutes walk from several restaurants.

The room was very clean and comfortable. We were surprised with the size of the room and bathroom; it was quite big. It was close to many of the attractions we wanted to see as well as good food and drinks.

Our hotel in Venice, a bed & breakfast

This b& b hotel was not quite what appeared on the Internet. However it was easy to find from the water taxi. Firstly pictures of the hotel facade must have been taken many years ago as the rendering was falling off. Secondly there did not seem to be anyone in charge after 7-8pm at night. If there was a fire you would be dead as there was no fire escape and the room was too high to jump out the window.. We were on the top floor, 54 steps up, the room was pleasant enough with a bathroom. Clean towels & beds made etc. However the liquid soap in the bathroom was on the opposite side to the shower and it smelt the same as you would find in a local toilet.
There were 2 men at reception, one completely off hand, the other gave us a map with places of interest & places to eat which was very helpful. I am nearly 76 and had to lug my case up 54 steps to my room with no lift and no offer of help from reception. The hotel was far too expensive however I believe other hotels in Venice were very dear. A Continental breakfast was 5 Euros per person and the lady that looked after us was very nice and the breakfast was fine.
The breakfast room was full of rubbish when we arrived at the hotel but by the next morning had been tidied up and the tables set. Pictures of this room on the Internet showed it as a lounge room with a couch but this had been changed for about 12 months. I could not recommend this hotel it was more like a squat.

Should have stayed longer!

Really enjoyed our stay at Locanda SS. Giovanni e Paolo. Staff were friendly and helpful, recommended a brilliant pizza/pasta restaurant (A le Tole) around the corner from the B&B. Room was clean and comfortable. Location was excellent - close to many restaurants, walking distance to the main attractions and the Ospedale/Rialto water bus stops. The luggage storage service was very convenient after check out. Overall very pleased with our stay and would return again next time we're in Venice!

The only problem was ours. The weight of our luggage and the twisty little stairs... still a clean sweet hotel with lovely decorations. The cost of water taxis was a bit hair raising.

Satisfactory hotel with good breakfast

We requested a double room and upon check in found we had two twin beds on the third floor. There is no lift so expect to climb many stairs. If you take the water bus line that stops at the hospital, then it is easy to find. Finding this location from the grand canal is difficult. Be sure to keep the windows closed and use the in-room air conditioner, if needed, otherwise you will be visited by mosquitoes. The front desk is not always staffed so you will likely have to wait for someone to come around and open the door for you when you check in. We were provided with a map and good advice on restaurants. They offered to store our luggage after check out, but the storage is not secured. Luggage is just left in the hallway by the front door. Breakfast was included in our rate and had a good assortment - eggs, fresh croissants, meats, cheese, fruit, juice and coffee.

mixed feelings about this hotel

other than the amazing guy (he's really friendly and funny) who checked us in the first night, we never saw anybody manning the counter at all for us to ask anything. the room had transparent curtains, so literally the next house (less than 3m away) can peep into your room + toilet, so don't walk around naked. breakfast was good, location was great. the room also had a creepy portrait of a boy looking down at you!

Pleasantly off the beaten track

Nice big room with aircon (venice can be stiflingly hot in summer, big comfy bed but could do with an easychair for daytime. Small but adequate shower room, surprisingly well located area yet off the main touristy bits. Continental breakfast adequate but served in a very small room in 2 sittings. A real muddle if the hotel is full.

Sebastiano was a really helpful English-speaking host, knows all the boat times and local eating places. Once you learn his shortcuts the main sights are surprisingly close to walk to.

The room was not cleaned any day. They told us that it is an Italian regulation, but is not true. One of the days there was no hot water, so we couldn't take a shower. They told us there was a problem in the boiler.
They didn't change our garbage bag, unless we left it outside at the door

Ottimo pernottamento

Ho soggiornato solo una notte presso questa struttura. La Locanda è molto carina e confortevole. La stanza matrimoniale, benchè piccola, ha tutto quello che serve (d'altronde a Venezia si sta poco in camera!): armadio, tavolino, sedia e un bagno praticamente nuovo con doccia, bidet e phon. In reception i ragazzi sono tutti gentili. Peccato il check-in solo fino alle 21. Comunque consiglio vivamente. Penso di ritornarci una prossima volta.

Grazioso a due passi da tutto

Molto grazioso e pulito. Mi spiace non ci sia la possibilità di parlare telefonicamente o direttamente con i proprietari dalla sta alle 21 fino l’indomani alle 14.(Nel nostro caso anche fino a più tardi). Abbiamo avuto la sfortuna di trovare vicini di stanza maleducati che hanno fatto molto rumore la mattina all’alba.

Simplicidade e conforto aliados p/ uma boa estadia

O hotel é simples, porém, não deixa a desejar em nada, a calefação funciona super bem, o recepcionista é muito prestativo, precisavamos do horário da linha de transporte público de Veneza (que são em sua totalidade barcos), e ele não exitou em conseguir para nós.
A localização é muito boa, com fácil acesso a Piazza San Marco, e com uma grande rede de restaurantes ao redor.
Recomendo o Locanda Giovanni para futuros hóspedes sim.
