The property is in a good location just few hundred meters from the ferry. Staff was very personable. I really would like to give 5 stars, but because AC was not working on one of the hottest days in Venice, so cannot. Although a fan was provided later, it did very little to cool the room ( Unit 9) as it was on the top floor with little or no ceiling insulation and no windows. We had to open the ceiling vent/skylight at night to get what little outside air but all it did was invite mosquitoes that resulted in countless bites. Hopefully the AC unit is fixed by now for future guests.

Super hôtel confortable avec un petit dejeuner délicieux. On peut se rendre en voiture à Lido par le ferry et il y a un stationnement gratuit à l'hôtel ce qui est très avantageux. Le terminus pour les navettes en bateau est a 10 minutes de marche. Vraiment un bon choix pour visiter Venise.

We're glad we chose Villa Casanova

We wondered about staying on a different island than the main part of Venice but we are so glad we did. It was less expensive for sure, but mostly we are glad because of the Villa and the atmosphere in the area. The place is in a quiet area but with plenty of restaurants and bars in easy walking distance.

Villa Casanova provided clear directions on how to take a water bus to the island and it was a short walk from there.

The room was wonderful and the staff and breakfast were great, too.

Great directions from the beginning. Our flight arrived late at night to Marco Polo airport and he was great with the instructions on how to reach the Villa and access information.

Charming, delightful and friendly. A great stay

Thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Venice and the Lido. Villa Casanova is less than a 10 minute walk from the vaporetta terminal and there are plenty of local restaurants and bars. We were here for Carivale and it was so pleasant to return to this tranquil villa after a manic day in Venice

Check in was fast and efficient, our room really spacious and comfortable for a 6 night stay and breakfast every morning was great with plenty to eat and freshly brewed tea and coffee - the double espresso on day 1 set me up for San Marco!

Thank you Alessandro and Cristina for making our trip so enjoyable and relaxing. You are great hosts

Cute place to stay! 5 mins walk from the Lido waterbus stop. The staff was very extremely helpful! I had emailed them beforehand asking for directions on how to get to the villa. They provided me with detailed instructions including which train station to come to and which waterbus to take from there. There was a transportation strike on the day we were coming in and went above and beyond to help me figure out to get to Lido since the direct waterbus was not running due to the strike!

Quaint, quiet, a bit run down

A/c unit did not work well and our drain was very slow / nearly plugged, plus the shower head wasn’t movable past one’s shoulders so you had to stoop to take a shower. None of these issues were resolved during our stay. It was so hot, I was surprised they didn’t even have a fan to offer us when we told them that our a/c didn’t work. However - the neighborhood is residential and quiet, close to the beach, the service was otherwise excellent, and the property is quaint. A good value for Venice in high season but you sacrifice a bit of comfort.

Comfortable room in quiet Lido close to Venice

We enjoyed staying in this restored, 1930s villa in Lido, just a short vaporetto (water bus) ride away from Venice. The neighborhood was safe, quiet, and full of excellent restaurants. Our hosts were friendly and gave us good directions for sightseeing in Venice. The breakfast was delicious, with lots of choices: yogurt, meat, cheese, croissants, rolls, cereal, and excellent coffee or cappuccino. Our only reservations: the house is a little shabby, with worn carpets, and the receptionist forgot to show us how to use the electricity card, which must be used in the room in order to have electricity. Other than that, this is a great place to stay to sightsee in Venice!

Villa Cassanova was the best hotel/pension we stayed in for or 6 city 2 week European trip. Service was faultless beginning with prompt and helpful answers to questions I e-mailed regarding getting to the property by ferry from the rail station to outstanding breakfasts and general friendliness of the managers. The room was elegant and the bathroom functional. The location is convenient as it is only a 10 minute walk to the ferry and a little more to a good range of restaurants. The Palace of the Doges is a short ferry ride away. If you're going to Venice do yourself a favour and stay at Villa Cassanova

Quiet Hotel with amazing staff

This is a lovely quiet, clean and well located hotel just 6-8 minutes walk from the water buses at the quayside on the Lido. The choices at the buffet breakfast were vast and covered all tastes. Our room overlooked the front garden and was quiet and comfortable with wifi access. All staff were so friendly and helpful especially Daniela who did her absolute best to help and provide information and went out of her way to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable. We would highly recommend staying here and hope to return again!

Warm welcome, kind staff, beautiful villa

This beautiful villa is a short walk from the water bus station. Stayed 5 nights with our little boy who now wants to live there. Walking into the square every night for an evening meal was bliss-family friendly, good places to eat, the sound of jazz being played, all fabulous. A short walk to the beach and a short water bus ride to St. Mark's Square, with the most gorgeous views. Hotel staff were so friendly and full of great advice and the breakfasts were delicious, eaten in the garden. A really relaxed stay. Would love to go back.

Amazing staff! They make you feel at home and were very patient with a problem of payment on our side. Always kept a smile on and were very accommodating. They offered us breakfast upon arrival the 1st day and let us in our room early.

Location was very good. Walking distance to Lido's main street and ferry terminal. Room was large enough for 4 people and luggage. Bathroom was modern and clean. Breakfast was extensive Continental and very enjoyable. Staff are fantastic, special mention to Marina who was so helpful and very knowledgable.Beds were a little hard and extra pillows would have been good.No big deal, so tired we fell asleep quickly. My wife and I were visiting Venice at the end of a cruise and were looking for a quiet affordable room for one night. Villa Casanova was the perfect spot for us as it was easy to get to (via water bus which was like having a tour in itself), was in a great area not far from Venice, and had a terrific host and hostess who saw to our every need. The complimentary breakfast was terrific which included homemade pastry and specialty coffees.

Loved visiting the Lido & Lovely Villa Casanova...

This was a short trip to Venice but a wonderful new discovery in both the Lido & this great, small hotel ~Villa Casanova.

You know that Venice itself is likely to be very busy~so staying on the island opposite seemed to make sense. What you don't expect is the lovely feeling of ordinary Italian life going on, the greenery, the wide canals & the bikes passing by slowly. I haven't even mentioned the stunning views, the lovely light & the sandy beaches on the seaward side of the island. The Lido is a world away from the crowds & a perfect contrast to the sightseeing trips..

We found this small hotel really charming, the breakfast was lovely - very fresh with great coffee - as you would expect in Italy! The staff were extremely helpful and it was easy to use the internet in the building and also in the pleasant garden outside. We had a lovely room at the front which was large & very comfortable. The boats to Venice run every 10 mins or so & they continue through the night although not quite so frequent.

I would have no hesitation going back to the Lido and this hotel. 'Treat it like your home' had been one comment when I asked about making a late night drink in the kitchen. That really summed it up for me - you felt you have stayed in a family house that had been a home in the past but now serves as charming small hotel. We both loved the ordinary food shops, the slow pace of Lido life, the wide streets and the local men fishing on Sunday with picnics and wives in tow!

This is a traditional style hotel in a quiet street away from the bustle and craziness of the main area of venice. the hotel is clean and tidy and very comfortable. staff were friendly and helpful always and speak good english. breakfast is lovely and you can eat a good fill and drink great coffee before a day exploring. the location is great, lido is a lovely island and the street is a five minute walk to the water bus stop, which takes less than 20 minutes to reach main venice. restaurants and bars on lido are much cheaper than in main venice and good quality and a good atmosphere with lots of locals as well as visitors. all in all top place, would definitely recommend and will definitely go back.

Fantastic Bed and Breakfast!

Alessandro was an awesome host at Villa Casanova. My mother and I stayed for 3 days while sightseeing in Venice. While I was hesitant about being on the first floor by the door, we didn't have any issues with noise. The breakfast each morning was fantastic, and Alessandro always remembered our cappuccino and double espressos. While Villa Casanova is on Lido, it was definitely nice to get away from the hustle and bustle of Venice after a long day. Definitely stay here if you are looking for a quiet place to stay on your trip to Venice. Thanks again for the hospitality, Alessandro!

We thoroughly enjoyed our 2-night stay at the Villa Casanova. It was easy to find using Alessandro's directions, and we loved the quiet neighborhood where it is located. We received a warm welcome from Flor, and enjoyed our breakfasts prepared by Alessandro. He also gave us some great sight-seeing suggestions, which we appreciated.

Our room was very clean and comfortable, and the whole facility was was quaint and charming. We would very much recommend this B&B to others, and will stay here again should we return to Venice in the future.

LOVELY place, conveniently located to port on quieter sweet Lido, still VERY accessible to Venice by boat. Staff here is exceptionally helpful and friendly, rooms and villa are spotlessly clean and so quaint! We booked the upstairs room with the brick wall for privacy and loved it. AMAZING breakfast with fresh fruit, granola, meats, too-good pastries :) and fresh cappaccino made on the spot by friendly staff. Yes, we loved this place.

Fabulous!

Just returned from 4 nights at Villa Casanova and didn't want to leave! The staff are very friendly and helpful, the room although small (we had an attic room) was very comfortable and clean, the location is brilliant - 5 minutes from the water bus station and main strip down to the beach. Our favourite part though was the breakfast! My boyfriend isn't a coffee drinker but he has now been converted thanks to Alessandro's cafe latte's! There was also juice, pastries, cereals, bread, prosciutto, mozzarella cheese and tomatoes - all fresh! :) Will be recommending this place to anyone I know who is planning a trip to Venice. The Lido also gives you the best of both worlds with Venice on your doorstep (15 minutes water bus) plus the glorious beach if you fancy a day sunbathing after walking around busy Venice!

Great hotel for anyone

This is a small but lovely hotel on the island of Lido just a few minutes from the main part f Venice by the water taxi. One can buy passes for the watertaxi in 24-48-72 hour increments. Alejandro is wonderful--he is the owner. He will give you all of the tourist information that you want including a map that is better than ones that you can buy and he will show you which stops to take to get where you wish to go. He has a wonderful breakfast and the rooms are very comfortable. The rooms have bidets in them (as an American they are totally foreign to me but some Europeans think they are a nice touch.) Alejandro is oh so pleasant and he speaks excellent English. He clearly loves his business and it shows in the service he provides. If I ever get back to Venice I will return. The hotel is about a 5 minute walk from the water taxi stop. The front door is a security type and there is a safe in the room. The bathrooms are spacious and the heat works very well. The rooms are spacious also. He has an expresso machine in the breakfast room and makes lattes to order and has a great assortment of teas also. All at a very reasonable price.

Lovely Bed and Breakfast Villa for couples

Perfect location, peace and quiet, close to Venice

Unbelievably enjoyable experience, everything about our stay was perfect. The Villa is literally yards from the Vaporetto stop and the bustling main street on Lido where there are wall to wall eateries and a supermarket if so required, yet tucked away in a quiet side street. The welcome on arrival was first rate, we were in our room very quickly after Alessandro met us personally. The room was chilled by the air con for us, lovely high ceilings, shuttered windows, spotless and well laid out, with powerful shower and bath en suite. Wi Fi was a bonus as well. Slept very soundly, after a wander around the area, there is a perfect beach nearby, and bars, restaurants galore within five minutes. As others have said the breakfast is to die for, all local produce and the best cup of coffee we had all holiday, not kidding. The price for a family of four in mid August just did not seem to buy us such a place to stay, felt worth a lot more! Without a shadow of doubt we recommend Villa Casanova, you should go there, the Lido is a short vaporetto ride from the chaos of Venice so you get the peace and the sights altogether. Please stay there, you will not regret it. We will go back one day I am sure, we will tell all our friends just how good it is. Thank you to Alessandro for a great stay in Venice and all the help with getting around, that you showed us, such an excellent host. *****

Great hotel for visiting Venice and Lido.

Alessandro, the proprietor, was very helpful and pleasant. Good location, being a short walk to the water bus and to restaurants. The room was large for Europe, about normal for the US. Very comfortable. It was hot when we were there and it was always wonderful when we entered our air conditioned room. We went into Venice several times, using a day pass for the water bus. This worked very well. Lido was also a very nice city, but more of a laid back beach town.

Only 12 minutes by water taxi from heart of Venice. Half the price of other hotels. And a great breakfast. Family perfect. Lido island is the place to eat when visiting Venice. I do not recommend any of the sky high price places to stay or eat in Venice. Lido island is a barrier island that protects Venice. Convenient beach. Just about perfect as far as we can tell. Alessandro the owner is awesome. Easy as pie to find. Water taxi at train station takes you within a 5 minute walk of this great bed and breakfast place.

Reisezeitraum Mitte April 2024, 5 Übernachtungen: Alessandro & Cristina sind ein tolles Team: stets hilfbereit, freundlich & gut gelaunt. Tolle, ruhige Lage (5-6 Min. bei Lido S.M.E.). Frühstück mit guter Auswahl, vom Chef gibt es diverse Kaffeevarianten, sogar heiße Schokolade. Je nach Wetter kann man auch draußen frühstücken. Bei feuchten Wetter ist ein Mückenspray recht hilfreich. Die Villa Casanova ist von ihrer Lage und Angebot sowie der Herzlichkeit ihres Personals sehr empfehlenswert!

Perfect place to stay on Lido de Venezia. You will have all shopping close by. Also the vaperetto-station nearby gives you easy access to Venezia.

Agradable estancia en esta villa en Lido para visitar tanto Lido como Venecia , Burano y Murano.
Muy buena atención tanto por parte de Cristina como de Alessandro. La villa está muy cuidada, limpia y pintada como si fuera nueva ! 😊
Agradezco mucho la hospitalidad y buenas recomendaciones de transporte y Restaurantes y sobre el legendario Hotel Des Bains de Muerte en Venezia proporcionada por ambos responsables.

Wir haben 6 Nächte während des Karnevals in der Villa Casanova verbracht und waren sehr zufrieden! Der Service ist sehr gut und freundlich, das Frühstück lecker und das Zimmer hatte alles, was wir brauchten. Da die Unterkunft sehr nah an der Vaporetto-Station Lido gelegen ist, war es zu keiner Tag- und Nachtzeit ein Problem, schnell ins Zentrum von Venedig zu gelangen. Das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis fanden wir hervorragend.

Eine wunderschöne Villa mit herzlichem Service. Allesandro war ein toller Gastgeber und hatte jederzeit gute Tipps. Zum Bootsanleger nur 5 min zu Fuß und dann 15 min rüber. Tolle Lage! Aber auch auf dem Lido konnten wir abends schön bummeln und es gab gute Restaurants.

Foi uma grata surpresa o ambiente da Casanova. Seus funcionários extremamente receptivos e um quarto com características de rústico com moderno nos encantou muito. Possuem bicicletas p uso o q também ajudou bastante nosso deslocamento. O café da manhã é excepcional. Possui estacionamento tb. Ótimo hotel.

Perfekt boende nära allt

Perfekt läge nära till strand och Venedig. Båthållplatsen låg max 200 meter från hotellet. Stranden kunde man lätt promenera till. Livsmedelsbutik och massa restauranger i närheten. Det bästa är ändå servicen man får. Man känner sig hemma. Frukosten är smakrik, varierande och man blir mätt. Wifi funkar lika bra som i Sverige. Personalen är fantastisk!

Jedno z najmilszych miejsc, w których nocowałam w ciągu ostatnich lat. Urocza willa skryta w cichej uliczce wśród zieleni. Pokoje przestronne, dobrze wyposażone i to co stanowi o wyjątkowości miejsca - przemili właściciele (pracownicy?), zawsze uśmiechnięci, chętni do pomocy, otwarci na potrzeby gości. Kawa, herbata, przekąski - dostępne w ciągu całego dnia darmowo, darmowe rowery do wycieczek po wyspie. Fantastyczny, relaksujący pobyt!
