Schöner Foyer und Bar. Alles sehr sauber, auch das Zimmer! Die Preise in der Hotelbar sind ganz okay, wenn man sich nicht aus Versehen einen Wein bestellt. Absolut zu teuer. Das Bad im Zimmer ist wie ein Kühlhaus gefliest,,, steril, einfallslos und wohl schon älter. Wie auch der versaute und löchriger Teppich auf der zweiten Etage. Zum Personal kann man nur gratulieren! Höflich und stets bemüht einem weiterzuhelfen!!

Liked this hotel very much. Very nice lobby, bar and breakfast room. A short walk to Marktplatz and the trams. Rooms and bathrooms were small but comfortable enough. Staff at reception were very friendly. Uber to the train station about €7.

Schönes ruhiges Zimmer gut gelegen

Teppichboden sehr verfleckt. Und TV kein Smart-TV. Bar war immer geschlossen. Ein Willkommens-Drink gab es nicht.

Nice and quiet hotel near to the city center

Nice hotel near Marktplatz in Mannheim. The services and comfort of the hotel were very good. However, I missed more variety in the food offered for vegan or vegetarian guests at breakfast (e.g. dried fruits cream or seeds).

Gutes Hotel für Geschäftsreisen

Ich kann (auch gemessen an dem Preis) nichts schlechtes sagen: Das Hotel ist einfach zu erreichen, Parken ist durch die Tiefgarage sehr einfach. Das Zimmer war ausreichend geräumig und so eingerichtet, dass man auch noch bequem am Computer arbeiten kann. Und fußläufig ums Hotel gibt es jede Menge unterschiedliche Möglichkeiten etwas zu essen zu finden.
Die Gegend ums Hotel ist ein bisschen abgerockt, aber das ist halt Mannheim :).

Unfortunately many shortcomings

Unfortunately, this is the second time we've been woken up at 8am without being asked (despite the \"Do not disturb\" sign on the door). The cleaning ladies just knock. WHY !?? That is not funny.
Another disadvantage is the beds. A queen bed does not mean two single beds put together. Hence the negative rating. All in all too expensive.

The room was definitely very clean. You might even say crisp, like freshly laundered linen. If I had to make one quibble, it would be that the weatherstripping at the bottom of the shower door was not watertight; we found that we needed to avoid letting water splash on the door, in order to minimize the amount of water found on the tile floor on the by the toilet.
While not large and spacious, we found the room to be satisfactory for our needs; not the least bit cramped.
The free Wi-Fi was disappointingly slow and laggy; in this day and age, having free vs fee-based tiers makes as much sense as having lukewarm shower water for free and hot water for those willing to pay extra.
The breakfast offerings were quite generous and diverse. And being able to have espresso was a very welcome thing. Somewhat related, I was happy that there were 2 espresso machines; it seemed one of them was in maintenance mode one morning, so it was great that there was still an option for espresso/cappuccino/etc. Regrettably, we didn't take the opportunity to try the evening restaurant offerings, although we did retire to the lounge for drinks a couple of evenings there.
For anyone curious, the nearest streetcar stop seems to be the Marktplatz station, which is about a 10 minute walk from the hotel. For those unfamiliar, we used the DB Next (Deutsche Bahn) app to order and use tickets for streetcars and trains on a daily basis there. Highly recommend.

Ventilation system

Had a great short break in Mannheim.
Staff were helpful and friendly.
Room was clean and cleaned everyday.
My only issue was the heating and ventilation system. Minimum temperature in all the rooms was 18C, which is rather high for me to sleep in. Plus the system was a bit noisy. I am a light sleeper though.
I left the window open until I slept which worked ok.

A straightforward hotel stay

We’d actually thought we were booking a different hotel for this stay and only realized once we’d arrived that we were staying somewhere else so my review is based on the realigned expectations!

The room and the hotel offered exactly what you need for a straightforward hotel stay - a firm yet comfortable bed, decent water pressure and temperature, and clean…so no complaints at all there.

I probably wouldn’t plan to stay here again though as it’s a bit of a walk (not at all unreasonable though) from the shops and restaurants so doesn’t have much of a lively and nice holiday-type feel outside the hotel. Good if you’re there for business or visiting something in the immediate area though.

Staff were excellent. We had a minor problem with our first room but were moved immediately to another, equivalent room and were very happy with it. We were a little surprised at the above average surcharge for our dogs, but without pets the price would have been excellent and for us it was still good value for money.

Friendly and helpful staff - Downtown Location

Arrived late and had the quickest most, pleasant check in experience.

Usually I have issues with my family of 5 (2 adults and kids 13,10,10) Many hotels only cater for a maximum of 4 per room and most hotel reservation systems are not capable of accurately letting the visitor know the options for adding a 5th to the room (if possible).

This hotel went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable. They insisted we visit one of the rooms to make a decision on whether we wanted to take a second (adjoining) room or whether we would be comfortable adding a single portable bed into the standard room.

After a quick inspection, we were comfortable to add the additional portable bed and keep our family together.

Hotel is still very much under construction, no lobby at this point. The rooms were clean, modern, and comfortable though. Breakfast buffet was one of the best we've experienced throughout our Euro travels. Definitely worth adding the breakfast ahead of time when you book the hotel as it is 17 EUR/each if you choose to pay upfront at the time of service. Convenient location, only a couple of blocks from a market center, city hall, and main shopping. About a 10 minute walk to a beautiful park.

A great hotel

The hotel was excellent, and the rooms were excellent except for the toilet/bathroom door which was transparent which was not ideal for a family sharing two rooms. The hotel was less than 10 minutes walk from the center of Mannheim. FYI, Mannheim is a very industrial city, full of immigrants, we chose it only because it was close to another city we were visiting - Worms. We didn't feel comfortable walking in the streets especially not in the dark.

Very pleasant stay with great deal

I stayed at a single room for three nights. It became definitely one of my favourite hotels.

As I booked the room a few months in advance, I could stay there with a very reasonable price (AUD 65 per night). But the room offered much more than the price. The hotel is located closed to the main shopping streets in Mannheim and easy to get around. The hotel staff is mostly friendly, efficient and very polite. The room is very clean and well equipped.

The hotel is highly recommended!

Hotel Disappointting

Overall the hotel was good, but check in very slow as there was one one person at front desk, to assist with check in and a line with about 8 people.
Also the bed was not vey comfortable - very stiff.
We have stayed at Mercure Hotels before in other countries and enjoyed very much, but his location was not as positive an experience as others within this chain.

A Hotel to Return To

Hotel Mercure was an easy walk to the centre of Mannheim for shopping & browsing through the Christmas Markt. The staff at the front desk were extremely helpful when we needed to access local phone numbers & allowed us a few extra hours in the parking garage. Fortunately, a GPS enabled us to drive through the confusing, narrow one-way streets in the area when it was time to leave the city.

Popular business hotel

Clearly a popular choice with business people in Mannheim and the rooms were functional. Breakfast buffet was good although I do not expect to be snapped at by a member of staff because I didn't realise where to put the wrappings from a teabag. Dinner service was extremely slow and the waiter clearly incompetent. Nonetheless the reception staff were friendly, efficient and helpful so on balance this hotel fits the need. Internet is free which is good but I for one couldn't work out why I continually had to re-input the codes.

Good price, nice hotel

the hotel is clean and well located. the service was very friendly, although we only realised too late that you don't need to pay for the internet - there's a free option! the room was warm (winter) and comfortable. the view's not amazing and the rooms are quite small, but you can't have everything. if you can get a deal on the price it's worth it.

very average in most, below in others

for a business trip, the internet was prohibitively slow. Expected more, and for the fee, it was too unpredictable. Breakfast quality went downhill over the course of the stay, selection and quality decreased. Restaurant in general was hit and miss. Same items ordered were served VERY differently from one night to another. In general, the staff was friendly, yet unable to assist with some simple requests other hotels support. Will look for a new property in the area next time.

The hotel was spotlessly clean, the room quiet and comfortable and the staff very helpful. Extensive and delicious breakfast menu. Good to be able to have dinner in the hotel restaurant and a drink in the cosy bar. Would not hesitate to book this hotel again

If you are going to pay this much to live in Mannheim, I would strongly recommend you look elsewhere.

There are a range of better hotels nearer the city centre, for which you would pay a similar price.

Receptionists can speak excellent English. Really helpful to get directions. Air con in every room! Quiet streets. Spacious room. Enough storage space, allowing you to unpack for the duration of your stay. No coffee/tea in room. Restaurant in hotel.

The Mercure is a very nice hotel for the money. Great value!!

Attentive and courteous staff. Requested room service for a romantic getaway and was very pleased with the flexibility and speed of service.

the hotel has very nice rooms and the breakfast is perfect. However the rate for internet ( 0.3 euro/ mn) is really too expensive while in other novotel and accor hotels the rate is 6 Euros for 5 hours!
