Another amazing stay!
Another amazing stay at the Benefis Hotel, our third this year! Large, quiet, comfortable room with quality toiletries and a comfortable bed with quality bed linen. Breakfast is excellent and will set you up for a day out exploring the sights of the city. Staff is attentive and helpful with nothing being too much trouble. You would have to be very demanding not to like this small but perfectly formed hotel.
As a bonus, there is a great little ice cream shop across the road from the hotel!

Wonderful hotel....but beware...our room did not have a fridge, no safe, no milk or milk powder for tea or coffee in the room...you had to get it from reception.
Also another small point...there is NO free parking. , and you MUST book parkin g in advance.

The hotel staff was so friendly and went out of their way to help you. We enjoyed the breakfast every morning and had a wonderful reception when we were there. The area around the hotel offered shops and restaurants. Fresh fruits, flowers and bakeries were close by the hotel. Also very close was bus service to many points of interest.

short break in Krakow 22-25th March
We had a wonderful 3 night break in Krakow, the view from our room overlooked walwel castle, and lit up at night, it was like something out of a fairytale! Amazing value for money, the hotel really deserves more stars than the 3 it has. The 'room' comprised of an entrance area, large bathroom, sitting area aswell as the bedroom and a balcony. Absoloutely no hesitation in recommending this hotel.

Hotel within walking distance of town centre
A lovely hotel in a quiet area of krakow, within walking distance of the centre. Accessable for the trolley bus and buses in general. The hotel was very clean and the staff friendly and very helpful. The restaurant was intimate and the staff polite and unintrusive. The food was of a high standard and very reasonable. There was a large selection of wines to choose from. A most pleasant experience.

We chose this as it is close to the castle and not too far from the old city. The rooms were excellent - numbers 35 and 16 and they were clean and in great condition. Good showers and comfortable beds. We enjoyed breakfasts which were European - no bacon and eggs, but plenty of cold meats, cheeses, breads and some hot foods.

Staff were really helpful and friendly and able to arrange trips for you at really reasonable rates from the 'man with the van from just a few doors down' - just a pleasant 15 minute walk into the centre of town. Huge rooms which were very clean. There is no tea and coffee making equipment in the basic rooms but there was in the suite. Was disappointed to find that the beds were single but we pushed them together - only again in the suite is there a double bed. Breakfast was delicious with a good choice, including eggs, sausages etc.. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay thought it was excellent value for money and would recommend it (and stay again ourselves should we return to Krakow).

Great find! We spent 4 nights on a city break. Our room turned out to be a suite, better than most 4 star hotels we've stayed in. Breakfasts were served in a lovely restaurant and consisted of a wide choice of food. The location was brilliant for sightseeing. I would recommend this hotel without hesitation.

Lovely hotel with great facilities, great staff, very clean - all you could need for a city break. Food was very good and a huge range of food and drink for the buffet breakfast. Very modern and tastefully decorated, we had a fantastic room with a living room making it a sort of junior suite. Lovely breakfast included in the price, but unfortunately can't comment on the restauant as there were so many places to eat out we had a walk to the main square and had something to eat around there. Staff were really welcoming and spoke good English which made things easier for us.

We stayed for 4 nights at the Benefis. Our room was more like a suite. The bathroom had a very nice, roomy and powerful shower. Breakfast was tasty, with plenty of choice. We had dealings with 4 different receptionists, all of whom were pleasant, polite and helpful.

A very nice hotel just the other side of the river from the main centre. This makes for lovely walks in and out of town with the Stunning Wawel Castle to gaze at.
The rooms are very specious and nicely decorated which makes things welcoming. The rooms are cleaned very well too and the staff are really helpful and will do anything to help you during your stay not to mention very friendly. They couldn't help but laugh at my rubbish Polish!
The only negatives where that the shower was a bit under powered and the room didn't have air con which was sorely needed as it was over 30c during our stay. This mean we had to have windows open which made for a disruptive sleep due the road noise outside. It also didnt help that you could hear the constant hum of the air con from the shop below us.
A lovely hotel in a nice location (try the Pizza Garden round the corner, amazing pizzas and friendly staff!!), just a shame on the lack of air con and outside noise

Hotel was everything we were hoping for. We would have enjoyed it more had there been tea/coffee making facilities in the rooms. Not a major problem but one, all four of our party agreed upon.(To be fair I did not mention this issue to the hotel staff, so I don't know what their response would have been.) Location was just 15 minutes slow walk from the old town. Staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. Service was very good with a hearty breakfast that set you up for the day. Overall, I would highly recommend this hotel to friends.

My daughter and I recently visited Krakow and did not want to stay in the old town because we heard that it could be very noisy at night and that the Cathedral bells ring every hour and on the quarters of the hour. Hotel benefis was only a 10-15 minute walk form the hotel , and we always felt safe. The room was large, the breakfast more than adequate.The front desk was very helpful and pleasant. Would stay there again.

not sure why this hotel is classed as a 3 star but from my stay it deserves a higher rating.i booked a 4 night stay 25-29 march 2013 and had paid for a superior room, this consisted of a large bathroom/toilet which looked newly refurbished, a large sitting area with flat screen tv coffee maker sofa bed and a large double bedroom with sliding doors for privacy if you were using it as a family room,breakfast was good with a good selection to choose from, the bar and restaruant are on the basement level,this is small but perfectly formed,i found the staff to be very helpful with any questions i had and they booked all of our trips for us. would return to this hotel without question.

We were not disappointed. It was an excellent small hotel. We had a large room, with a separate lounge area with sofa, tv, tea/coffee making facilities and very nicely furnished. The bedroom opened onto a small balcony - it was just a pity that we were visiting in March when the temperature didn't get much above 3c! The bathroom too was large, with modern fittings. It was all spotlessly clean.

Quality stay at bargain price
For the price - best what you can get. It's a decent 3 star hotel, not so far away from town center as some reviews would suggest. Hotel was clean (although a bit more attention to bed making and more frequent bedding changes would be welcomed), staff very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was a good spread, there was plenty of cold meats, cheese, hot local sausages and salads to choose from. 1 thing it lacked was scrambled eggs.On the arrival you'll get a decent city map and reception staff can give you advice on how to get to places like Wieliczka using local transport so it doesn't cost you a fortune. I would definitely stay again:)

You worry about cleanliness, location, safety and competence when you choose a hotel far from home. None of these were an issue at the Hotel Benefis. Housekeeping was excellent. Location was within minutes of my fancy. I never felt threatened in the surrounding neighborhood. The Front Desk was cordial and knowledgeable. If I would add any ammenities, they would be a refrigerator, safe and a microwave.

We had a very comfortable, spacious and well-appointed suite: comprising bedroom, seperate lounge (which had sofa bed) and a spacious shower room. Spotlessly clean. Nice hotel with great employees. However, no laundry service, no hotel computer to use if you don't have yours, no ice machine other than the one at the bar, no iron or ironing board, only suites have a frig in room. Not too close to the square but very close to trolley which is very easy to use, so that is a minor issue. Great bakery next door. Breakfast more than adequate. Plenty of small kiosks and neighborhood stores in the area. Would recommend for the price. Pluses outweigh the minuses.

Can't Really Fault It
We have stayed at this hotel two years running and have been impressed both times by the comfort and cleanliness of the room, the helpfulness of the staff and the quality of the breakfast. To get into the old town you have to walk a short distance (about 15 minutes) and if you follow the south side of the river you get what must be the best view of Wawel Castle. There are loads of good quality and inexpensive eateries and I would especially recommend the rooftop bar and restaurant of Hotel Pod Wawalem (next to the unpleasant blot on the riverside landscape which is the Sheraton).

All the girls behind the reception desk that I dealt with were excellent. They went out of their way to help me with my stay in Krakow, from giving me advice on how to tour the city , to providing a beautiful lunch pack to take away with on my early check out. Hotel itself was basic in general,and just a little walk to the main square, but cannot get past how wonderful the staff were.

A great place from which to enjoy a magical city
I wouldn't think of staying anywhere else in Krakow. It is far enough away from the city centre to avoid the noise & close enough to walk into town & enjoy the sites. Just a 15 minute walk over the bridge & you are in the city centre. The staff were exceptionally friendly & helpful & went out of their way to cater for my son's dairy & gluten intolerance. The restaurant/bar was beautiful and the breakfasts were fit for royalty. The decor reflected the rest of the hotel in the light, airy atmosphere. Our room was huge. We were lucky enough to have a family room with a balcony looking directly over to Wawel Castle. With a king size & double bed there was still plenty of space for a table & chairs & desk as well as loads of room to relax & spread out. The bathroom was large with a fantastic shower & there was more than enough storage space for your luggage & belongings. The entire hotel was very clean. Our beds were comfortable. The area the hotel is in is well worth exploring as there are some hidden treasures to find & some beautiful, walks along the Vistula to enjoy. The staff were very knowledgeable & were able to advise on transportation without difficulty. I am pleased that we chose Hotel Benefis. As well as being a bit of a pilgrimage for me & my son it was a special present for my best friend. I will be returning to both the magical Krakow & the hotel as soon as possible. Without a shadow of doubt I would recommend the hotel to anyone considering a visit to Krakow.

Wifi was touch and go in my room, better if I stood by the door, but not sure if its all rooms or just room 12, but with my room being wheelchair accessible it was a huge room! Local shops and great pizza place in the area, with a short walk across the bridge and along the rive to the old town/Wawel. Tram stop easy to get across the bridge to get through town quickly too. Parking on the street is free so great for rental cars or divers. GREAT breakfast as well with tons of options. Would definitely recommend it.

Comfortable, quaint, European-style small hotel. Unlike a big chain, it has character that integrates it well into the local neighborhood. Reasonably close enough to old town and the Wawel to make it accessible by foot. We parked the car for two days and never had to take it out of the secure, courtyard parking. Staff was exceptionally helpful and attentive. Would choose this hotel again.

We spent 8 nights at hotel Benefis. It was a bit difficult to find but people are willing to point you in the right direction. The hotel is 15 mins walk from the centre of town which is vibrant on the week end. The breakfast was great. Many choices of food.The reception staff were amazing. They went out of their way to help with trips to various sights as we wanted to do it on our own rather than take tours. In all my travels i have never met such nice, friendly reception staff. The room was large & clean. The only problem was that the 4th floor was not the best choice. It had a skylight window without a night blind. This woke us up at 5 am. They promised to rectify this. They did offer us another room immediately but we declined.Their recommendation of restaurants were superb. The holiday & hotel experience was great. I will definitely stay there again.

Very nice hotel it is across the river from Wawel. It is maybe a 10-15 min walk to Market Square, but it was well worth the price. A superb little hotel just a 10-15 minute walk from the old town. Staff were extremely helpful and pleasant, hotel interior very impressive, rooms clean and serviced daily. Hotel situated in a very quiet part of Krakow. Don't be put off by the plain exterior of the building, what awaits you inside makes up for that. Breakfast was very well presented and stocked with a good assortment of food to satisfy everyones taste.

The best personnel at Hotel Benefis
My husband and I stayed at Hotel Benefis in Krakow for 6 nights. The front desk personnel were the best we have ever found! They were always willing to help with a smile, make phone calls and reservations, give us directions, help in every way. In a country where the language barrier could ruin the trip, they are an invaluable lifeline! For this reason alone I would recommend this hotel but there are several others. We had a nice large room with a small balcony. The included breakfast buffet was excellent and varied. They had free Wi-Fi. The hotel was very clean. I gave our room a 4 in comfort rather than a 5 because the lights were not bright enough to read easily. Also the automatic light sensor in the hallway didn't work well so you walked some steps in the dark before they turned on. The location of the hotel is safe, peaceful, and quiet. It is a little far from the Market Square but although we are seniors, we walked it many times without any problem. There are also trams available right across the bridge and we took those also. Finally, the reasonable price and lovely employees certainly make up for the small inconveniences. And, yes, we would stay there again and recommend it to others!

Great Hotel, just to isolated
This is a really good, modern hotel. Staff are helpfull and always give you a nice smile. Large rooms with seating area. No tea / coffee or hair dryer in the room.
The only problem is the location. It is only about 20 minuets walk to the main square, but thats a long way when it's raining and there's not much at all near the hotel.

we stayed in room 35, think this is quite a big suite for eastern europe. Staff great, very helpful, great english (great as we had no polish!) 15 min walk to old town square. Easy to book trips from. Felt very safe there. Bathroom beautiful quite newly done up, bedroom could maybe have a lick of paint on the wall but as we only booked to stay 2 nights that's not a problem for us. Lovely breakfast, big choice. would recommend for convenience.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay in this hotel. I was here between 24th July and 1st August 2011. The girls in receptionist were so helpfull at all times and any problems that I had regarding tours or cabs were quickly dealt with.The rooms were huge and great value.The hotel is sligthly away from the Old town but 15 minutes walk will take you in.

The Hotel Benefis is a small excellent hotel with high standard rooms and friendly personal service, which made my visit to Krakow even more enjoyable. The hotel offers an outstanding buffet breakfast included in price and can arrange day trips to varrious near by attractions ( Salt Mines and Auschwitz ) The hotel is located just a short 15 minute walk to the city square with it's many historical buildings, parks, resturants, cafes and bars and it comes highly recommend .

Great hotel, very personable staff that were very accommodating and spoke English very well. The only reason I marked the location less favorable was because I was traveling with an 80 year old relative. However, for myself in my late 20s, the location was perfect and just under 20 minutes walk to the main tourist sites of Krakow.
Krakow is beautiful, very inspirational and a wonderful city break for relaxation. Would recommend Hotel Benefis for excellent value for money and good quality accommodation.

Had stayed there in August and was hoping for much the same. It was. Had a very large room to myself with sofa and table and a bathroom bigger than some singles I've stayed in. Very few guests at this time of year but no scaling back on the choices at the excellent breakfast buffet. Staff very helpful. Not in a prime tourist location but still only 15 mins walk from the main square.
