I found the remote check in pretty sketchy and the lockbox was difficult to open. Room was clean, large (2 queen sized bed) and nicely attired. Both beds were vey lumpy. Neither of us got a good nights sleep.

Check I in was over the phone and the keys were in a lock box at the door, but the gentleman who helped us was most friendly, and it only took a few minutes. The cottage itself was very large and very clean, conveniently located to all of the shops and antique stores we wanted to visit, and it was so nice having a private space with no one near us for a good nights rest after - highly recommend!

These cottages have so much potential and you can tell they were once very nice. However, they are in need of some serious TLC. Upon entering the room, the first thing I noticed was the inside of the door was filthy. As we walked in further we noticed this was the case throughout the room. The walls and doors needed cleaned. The shower spigot was coming away from the wall and there was an outlet in the bathroom that was pulled out from the wall. It seems the rooms are cleaned on the surface level (toilets, bedding, the basics). The beds are hard and the pillows flat.
Positives: the rooms are decorated very cute, the property is nice, ample parking, easy check in, good location and AC/fan worked great.
Would I return? Probably not unless I noticed a major improvement from the customer reviews.

This place is great for traveling on a budget. It’s clean and close to all Amish attractions. Definitely bring your own towels and bathroom toiletries and if you go in the fall winter bring your own blankets their quilts don’t do it. The only negative was the mini fridge would make a loud noise in the middle of the night waking me up.

Our stay was pleasant and the room was nice in size and very clean. It was nicer than most motels we've been in. Contactless check in was easy and seamless. When we called to ask for something, someone was at our door with the items in under 10 minutes! We thought it would just be left for us sometime that day. Just know, that there is no pasture view of barns, etc. But you will be able to watch the airplanes take off from the private airport that backs up directly to your room. It was interesting and fun to watch. They had restrictions to keep noise down (I think no planes until after 9AM).

This room needs better beds. Everytime we sat down, the bed literally moved across the room. And they were not comfortable. The porch light kept the room so bright it was hard to sleep. We pulled the blinds down to help. We had no way to turn off the outside light.

I had received emails prior to arrival on the \"no contact\" check in process at the cottage and the instructions said to call the phone number given upon arriving at the property for a lock box code for the entry door as the office would not be manned with a person. I had sent a message thru the text conformation during the day telling the approximate time of anticipated arrival and asked a question on what type of coffee pot was provided (kurig cups?) as to be prepared for hot coffee. No answer from the host.

After checking 2 other places, I finally received a call back (from a different number on the caller ID), so drove back to spruce cottages to be instructed to a dark porch at cottage 52. outside light didn't work. once inside, cracks and stains in the sink and tub, lumpy mattresses and very loud creaky beds, Minifridge had rust.

We love Spruce Lane. It's our favorite place to stay when visiting the American Music Theater. We stayed in Cottage #52. The blinds need some love and the lamp shade is ready to go. Everything else was perfect. Highly recommended.

Check in was awful, had to call a person and very bad connection. A person showed up about 10 minutes after I arrived. Bathroom door would not shut. Air conditioning was too loud to hear tv without the volume turned way up, shut it off at night.

Cute cottages set back from the road. There is a small airport out back, more entertaining than bothersome because the planes are very small. The bathrooms are starting to show some signs of age. Please update your phone system, it is choppy so it's hard to hear what the office is telling you. Though the guy that I talked to was very helpful. We did enjoy our stay, thank you.

There were 2 beds one squeaked something terrible, one was okay. The one that squeaked had stains on sheets and was lumpy. We used just the one.
We requested extra towels and they provided a set but we wanted 2 sets.
The ceiling had water leak spots and sink was stained.
It was okay BUT not a holiday inn.

We've been to these cottages many times. It's always been quiet, clean and comfortable. This time however, the check in procedure is troublesome (it's always been a bit different, but this time it took awhile), the room had ants and other insects and dirty towels. There were people in the parking lot when we got there to check in around 6:00pm. We left and returned at 11 pm and they were still there. They weren't hurting anything, but it doesn't look the best for their business. We cancelled our next two bookings and are staying elsewhere.

The staff is completely not existent, needs some landscaping, blinds need replacing (dirty and broken), sheets had stains, bathroom room wouldn't close, and the absolute worst. Only 1/2 roll of toilet paper and NO EXTRA ROLL! Had to use tissues! Actually got a pack from some sweet ladies that were checking out because they went to the dollar store and had to buy toilet paper!! Absolutely unacceptable to have no staff on site and no extra toilet paper

When we tried to check in, we called the number and got the code for the lockbox. The keys in the lockbox only opened the door handle but not the deadbolt. Nobody was available to unlock the deadbolt. Long story short, we were out of luck and had to scramble to find another place to stay for the night! We were not getting into this property, period. We were offered rooms at their sister property - which was a motel (we had paid for a 4 bedroom house with kitchen). Not an acceptable substitution and no financial concession for taking that option. They did agree to refund our full amount with no late cancellation fee when we didn't accept the sister property. Wow, thanks. Will see when the refund comes through...(it had better)

This was a nightmare. I arrived after a 20 hour trip and at first it seemed ok. I went to brush my teeth and there was a trickle from the facet. Then as I was getting into bed, I noticed hair in the bed. I flipped a pillow over and it was filthy. I called and was given another room. I went to the bathroom and there was pee on and in the toilet. As I checked the bed, I noticed that these sheets were also dirty. I ended up sleeping on top of the covers with no pillow. I called and they offered no discount, but said they would give me one for future stays.
