Wooden floors create a huge amount of noise from other rooms. Chairs moving, footsteps, banging around, doors creaking and slamming. Carpets create a calmer less noisy, more comfortable atmosphere. I must also have had the water pipes coming down past my room as I got the whoosh of water coming down from above when someone presumably uses the shower or toilet.
I asked to move rooms as a result and this was actioned for me without hesitation.
Nice hotel overall and the room I had in the end was quiet and relaxing but it could have not been relaxing stay if I’d have stayed in my original room with all the noise.

We had 3 people in our room. Each person had a bed so there wasn't a lot of moving around space, but we made it work ok. I would definitely stay here again. It was easy to get a taxi or Uber, but we walked most of the time.

The room itself was clean as were some parts of the bathroom, but the shower stall and behind the toilet were dirty. The toilet area was the absolute worst! It had the smell of sewer which was absolutely disgusting. When I looked at the floor behind the toilet, there was a space next to a pipe which had some paper stuck in it, yet it didn’t cover up the space completely. On the floor itself, under this pipe, there was a black mess which looked to be mold. My thought is that sewer water leaks out of the side on this pipe and collects on the floor, therefore the awful smell and mold growing. Totally unacceptable and truly awful! Bad experience.

Our stay at Hotel Indigo Princesa in Madrid was wonderful. It was easy to walk out to see any part of Madrid we wanted—especially the Reina Sofia museum and the Plaza De Estana. The hotel staff was lovely and helped us get taxis to the universities like IE that we were also here to visit.

The location of the Hotel Indigo Madrid-Princesa is ideal. It is located next to the Arguelles Metro stop across the street from El Corte Ingles. This is a safe but lively mixed residential and retail area. It was formerly called the Hotel Tirol.
The staff off the hotel is very attentive and polite. We were very pleased with the breakfast and dinner that was included in our package. There is a lot going on at the hotel restaurant--there seem to be many locals eating there.
We will stay at this Hotel again on our next trip to Madrid.

Our room here was such a welcome respite after 24+ hours of no sleep/travel time. Beds were comfortable and shower worked well. Outlets had USB ports (the only place we saw this in Spain). We were able to walk to all of the major sites from here, but we’re far enough away that it was quiet at night. The bar downstairs was also an easy spot to grab a wine.

On our first morning, our bathroom and bedroom ceiling leaked when the people in the room above us took a shower. This caused our electricity to go out. We called the front desk for help. It eventually got fixed after a long wait. Our schedule for the day got delayed a few hours.

The hotel was clean and the location optimal for sightseeing during my first visit in Spain. However, I didn't find the staff to be friendly. I greeted whomever as seated at the desk every time I entered and left the premises and was oftentimes ignored. I tried to get suggestions for things to do my first day and the gentleman was aloof and did not offer assistance. Tirol Hotel has friendly staff, super-clean rooms with comfortable beds and plenty of hot water! And, it's easy to get to/from Barajas airport via taking subway to Nuevos Ministerios, change to line 6 and get off at Arguelles metro stop, exit, Alberto Aguilera (in front of El Corte Ingles). Hotel is diagonally across the street from the stop. The breakfast buffet is good, and if you don't sign up for breakfast there is a small cafe next door, a sandwich shop across the street and a bar/cafe down the street. The neighborhood is residential, but it has easy access to tourist sites, shopping, the U. Complutense campus, and more. The rooms themselves are quiet, sparsely furnished (bed, desk, chair, closet, room safe, no carpet on floors). There is no mini bar/fridge or tea kettle in the room, but there are ice machines, cold beverage vending machines down the hall. Off the lobby there is a hot beverage vending machine. There is also a health club, but I didn't use it. There is free wi-fi. One tip: if you like having a face cloth to wash with, bring your own.

I'll definitely stay here again if I visit Madrid. The breakfast was very good. They try to change some menu everyday and it was fresh. What I liked the most was their shower booth. It has a high-pressure shower head, which is gratefully detachable, unlike American hotels, in a very clean booth. Their location is good, too. You can go shopping to Zara in 3 minutes on foot. All these satisfying features at a reasonable rate! I recommend this hotel.

Great location away from major tourist traffic. Interior rooms are very quiet and great attention from the front desk. Clean and bright and the breakfast buffet is outstanding. Number 1 bus is direct from hotel to very near the Prado Museum.
