Shower was so gross we couldn’t use it. Caulking was moldy and the shower water was grey when we turned it on…The bathroom smelled of urine.

Rest of the room was fine but a bit outdated for the price.

On Dec 14 We upgraded on the spot due to an early check in… this room was great. Spotless and staff was great!
We stayed in the same hotel different room on Dec 20-23 and the room was clean but a bit outdated.
We will come back again!

After an all night flight we were thrilled that our room was ready earlier than expected. Our room was not remodeled as shown in the pictures but was extremely clean and comfortable. There was a big concert happening in the park across the street and we did not hear any of it! Amazing sound proof windows

The AC was very old equipment and the bottoms were broked. The carpet dirty and the furnished need an upgrade. They need to request guess over 21 a lot under age I feel like I was in Cancun instead os Madrid.

A classic European hotel. Rooms quiet and very clean. Rooms a bit small. Bed was a bit too soft. Some of the staff speak English, some were less helpful. Located centrally near many interesting sites, great restaurants and shopping. If you are not Spanish speaking it might be a little difficult to figure out where the parking is.

Great hotel

The hotel is located on Gran vía, close to the España plaza. The room is very spacious with a lot of chairs and king size bed. It even have a nice balcony where we relaxed everyday after the various activities.

The hotel stuffs were nice and efficient, the breakfast offerings were plenty.

Price is very reasonable. We highly recommend this hotel.

The reception clerk was arguing loudly with the head supervisor of housekeeping on the phone in front of us for like 7 minutes, while he he was processing our room assignment. It was very uncomfortable.
He was apparently upset. Other than that, property
Is clean, housekeeping staff is super nice and the location is spectacular. Good bargain. Is dated but in good conditions. Make sure you get all the information before you include your Breakfast Buffett.

Avoid this place , at least my room the carpet is from 1940. Very old everything inside room , jus two electric outlets . if you're lucky You will get one of the renovated room, the lobby look like a Human Resources old factory. The only better thing is the location , across the RIU hotel And Plaza de Esoańa

The location of the property was close to hop on hop off buses as well as local transit (metro and bus). Easy to get anywhere in the city without any trouble. There was a festival going on in the park across the road giving lots of entertainment for our stay.

First problem was checkin was absolutely terrible , they tried to tell me that I had to pay again for the room even though I had a receipt showing them I paid . After a half hour they finally found my reservation . I have to say there was a bad smell in the hotel and when I got to the room it looked absolutely nothing like the photos . Very old and out of date . I was very disappointed especially with this being a fairly expensive 4 star hotel . I would not stay here again

Location was good, close to the Palace, many dining options, shopping and Metro stations. The shower was wonderful with great pressure, really hot water and a rain shower head. Also, had a magnifying mirror in the bathroom. Our room faced a busy street, but we could not hear any traffic.

This picture represents a premium room not the regular old and musty room I had. This hotel needs serious renovations. The breakfast is underwhelming and boring. The staff is so helpful and pleasant. I was very unhappy with the disabled room they gave me and they did move me to a larger but same worn out room.

Good Madrid Stay

This was a good stay in Madrid. We arrived a little early and lucky for us the room was ready so we were able to check in. That was wonderful. The staff are very kind and attentive.

The room was comfortable enough despite it being a little older. The bathroom had a toilet, a bidet, and a bathtub and the water pressure was excellent. Definitely felt good to relax after the hot summer days in Madrid.

The bed was comfortable and pillows were alright. The AC in the room is really loud but I didn't mind so long as it would work. The room also had a small kitchen area, a microwave, and a fridge which was great.

Location-wise, this hotel was ideal. It was just a few meters from the Plaza de España which was convenient for us. Plenty of places for food options as well.
We tried the breakfast and it was okay. Nothing too special but very convenient on the days where we needed to go see places early in the morning.

Overall, this was a good stay in Madrid, great staff, convenient location.

Great location and close to Metro and attractions

The hotel is in a brilliant location very close to the Metro and buses and walking distance to the Royal Palace and other attractions. The staff are also lovely and very helpful and the room was clean and serviced daily. We were originally given a poor room with no air con and with leaky fridge and bathroom issues in very hot weather. They did offer to repair the issues, but we asked if we could change room instead, and were then offered a lovely refurbished room on one of the upper floors, which although smaller for the 3 of us, was far superior to the lower floor room. Once this hotel refurbishes the other floors and improves the quality, service and range of breakfast items offered at the cafe next door, it will have even better reviews than it has now. Thanks for a lovely stay in beautiful Madrid!

Having read some negative comments, I didn't reserve this hotel when arriving in Madrid. However, to have convenient transportation, I chose this hotel for the location. What a nice surprise! It had to be the best at the price of all hotels! Magnificent view of the Spanish square, right in the center of shopping, touring.... The photos are not as nice as the hotel you will see. All equipments, the bathroom, the kitchen are new. I didn't find dish and kitchen cleaning kit, but it was trivial. The hotel provided a huge plus to my Madrid trip. I truly, truly appreciate it. Great location near the Royal Palace, right on the Plaza España and just of the Gran Via, so great overall location. Beds were comfortable, room was clean, kitchenette was very useful, just didn't have a coffee maker was the only thing missing. But overall we were very pleased with our stay.

On site garage was too small and very obscure, hard to find. Had to go multiple rounds and due to construction and traffic, we wasted a lot of time finding parking. Manager said the garage was too small and we had to go to the public carpark just opposite.

Otherwise, the place was nice and spacious.

The good things about our stay were they allowed us to check in early, and it’s good location. But... the receptionist did not speak English and had stiff face. The sound insulation was poor....could hear next room and corridor talks clearly. No water kettle and the stove took years to boil water.

Great location and attentive personnel

The hotel is located in a great area, right next to Plaza de España and Gran Via street, where you can find many restaurants, bars, theaters & stores.

There's also a Metro station a couple meters from the hotel, so you can take the Metro to/from the airport without issues.

The staff was great. They held on to our bags before & after checkout, while we toured around the city.

Pleasant and convenient hotel.

Great location, with most places of interest very close at hand and all within walking distance. The Prada is the furthest away, but even that is only a 20-25 minutes easy walk.
The neighbouring building is undergoing major reconstruction, and although this didn't cause any issues with noise, it meant that the entrance wasn't immediately obvious, as it has quite a small frontage. Was a bit confused by some of the photos, which made us assume that the hotel was the large building shown, it isn't, it's actually on the other side of Plaza De Espagna which added to our confusion.
We were welcomed nicely and got an unasked for room upgrade which was good. It is fair to say however, as this was a short 3 day trip, we didn't spend much time in the rooms.
A couple of pieces of furniture and the carpet in the sitting area showed signs of wear, but were clean and usable and not a turn off.
The breakfast was fine, not the greatest we have ever had, but certainly did the job and not bad value either.

Comfortable hotel in the heart of Madrid life

We can thoroughly recommend this hotel. Our room was spacious and very comfortable. It overlooked the Plaza de Espana, had an excellent café/restaurant next door where the staff were friendly It is located within walking distance of the Palace and Cathedral and the Puerta del Sol, with the Gran Via just round the corner.

Every thing about the room was great, except only two channel in English which they were only news channels and when you have a kitchen area it would of been nice to have dish soap to wash the dishes. Overall the staff (front desk and housekeeping) were very helpful The room were like a studio apartment, every thing you need, stove top , microwave and refrigerator. The location was awesome, metro, bus and even a tourist tour company with in walking distance to go on one, two or even three day side trips. Lots of all different kinds of restaurants and a few shows close by.

The hotel is very well situated andclose to one of the bussiest shopping streets in the city
For its class and price .the accomodation is reasonably good . There is a safe in the room which is a very important amenity to have. We do miss a coffee or tea maker in the room.

Towels very bad conditions and old and the room with a very hard odor to perfume to cover anything. Could be cigarette odor or cleanliness is not good. If you are as are allergic, It is dangerous. Both things that are for me the worst things.

Very close to Palace and Gran Via

Hotel rooms are comfortable and come with small kitchen area in them which came in very handy. Lovely Plaza de Espana square and metro stop just across the road. Palace is about a 10 minute walk away and Gran Via jut round the corner from hotel.
