Location is good for attractions, restaurants, and even a laundry. Staff are nice and luggage storage provided. However, one time there was no staff in reception area and a few of customers were stuck in lobby or outside because the auto door stopped working. Later we found the door in the other can open but that means anyone can get into the luggage storage room and steal the luggage. the facility is weird that there was no telephone in my room so we only can go to lobby for requests. Other than that, the property still a pretty good choice.

This is the best place in Madrid to start off your vacation with the left foot. This is the most expen$$$ive HOSTAL in Madrid -AIN\"T A HOTEL.
The JC rooms are claustrophobic, no water, no amenities, and it feels like sleeping in an upgraded casket.
The front desk is \"run\" by one person -it's really a ONE man Hostal show.
The final act... we discovered the Hostal double charged our credit card for one extra night. Good luck trying to get your money back :(

Generally dozens of rooms with windows onto the square. However do not accept to be put into room Ukraine (Ucrania) on the first floor. It’s like a dungeon, a bunker, practically no daylight coming in, you need lights on during the day! Claustrophobic.

The hotel is really a good location. Shopping and tourist spots are walkable. The only bad thing happened to us was my niece was unfortunately locked in bathroom for 3 hours. She locked it but it didn't opened anymore until the owner came. The lock was complicated. It happened middle of the night. So it was a trauma. Be careful and the management must do about this.

Overall good. Brilliant position for getting around, great service by the staff, clean bright and modern. Only down side was the noise ( 1 st floor facing square is not for those who need quiet to sleep or need an early night!) but that is the price you pay for being in the centre of town.

Lovely apartment right in the heart of the old town amid the bars, restaurants and historic sights. Warmly welcomed by Jesus who also gave us recommendations of where to visit. Apartment had everything we needed (fridge, iron , wifi etc) Fab place.

The location is great because it's close to Gran Via and other city activities or other plaza square, but it was hard to find the hotel because it was tucked in away from the main street. Looking for it at night time was difficult. There was a free drinks which was nice. The room and bathroom was too small, no window in the room and I felt suffocated. Wifi was not good.

We stayed at JC Rooms for one night during our stay in Madrid. The hotel was in a perfect location- it was close to the Gran Via, walking distance to Plaza Mayor, Puerto del Sol & Plaza Espana as well as had a surplus amount of restaurants & bars just round the corner. The room reminded me of my college dorm. It was clean and plentiful for the one night.
The receptionist was informative & was helpful with directions & restaurants recommendations.

Read this before you book!!!
If you're looking for a hostel experience, this might work for you. When we first read the reviews, we thought, this looks decent. No frills which was fine since we wouldn't be in the room much. However, we felt this was a bad experience and here is why:
1. The beds are like sleeping on concrete and the sheets, etc. are very poor quality. They don't even give you a duvet, you have to use a smelly old blanket stored in the closet. Worst 4 nights of sleep we've ever had in a hotel!
2. No sound proofing throughout the hotel. There are kids and teenagers running up and down the halls/stairs screaming at all hours of the day/night. You can literally hear everything!
3. They have old computers from the 90's in the rooms and they don't even work. The rooms are small enough as it is, why take up space with a computer and desk when everyone has internet on their phones?
4. Terrible wifi, never worked.
5. The service provided was rude and dismissive. We asked the guy that checked us in the first night for restaurant recommendations. He gave us a map and told us where to go. He said, \"you'll love this area, all locals and no tourists and the food is great.\" What a joke! He sent us right into the tourist traps! Restaurants trying to lure you in by offering deals and people on the street selling tickets for drinks/discos. It felt cheap and dirty.
Avoid this place and stay elsewhere unless you're fine with a hostel.

The person at reception was not helpful when I asked where is the nearest bank in the area. She answered I do not know to most of my inquiries. The room is clean. Location is very good. A lot of restaurants in the area.

Staff were incredibly friendly, very accomadating. The room was small but more than adequate. Bathroom was very clean and funky design which was cool. The walls are very thin so you can hear everything, so I would be careful if you have a family. Didn't dine there at all, and there was free water and Pepsi in the mini fridge, and the safe was cool too. But overall really enjoyed my stay there

Convenient and clean hotel
Stayed here as a stag party of 15. We had 3 per room. Staff were great and v.helpful, location ideal as next to lots of Metro stations and bustling Sol area. Rooms were v.clean, great shower and all in all couldnt ask for a better base for a weekend. Can be loud as couple of late bars right outside but that didnt bother us a a group of lads. Would recommend and also would happily use JC Rooms again.

The hotel is conveniently located, just a 2 minute walk to the underground station and to Puerta del sol & gran via.
The look of the outside and inside of the hotel is really nice and staff knowledgeable.
One negative point is breakfast - the hotel itself has no restaurant so it relies on a small coffee/tapas shop whose quality is debatable.

This hotel was the noisiest I've ever stayed in and I travel very frequently.
From 06:30 every morning the staff from the bar / restaurant down stairs were banging and shouting to the point it would make us jump it was that loud!
Constantly throughout the day we could hear people shouting, scraping chairs along the floor, children screaming, banging from the kitchen downstairs ...
We hardly got any sleep and it actually made us both unwell with the lack of sleep we had. This has been the only time I've ever considered getting another hotel and checking out early, the only reason why we didn't was simply because there weren't any available at such short notice at another hotel.
I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

The hotel is awesome! Very different to a normal hotel. Excellent location close to main streets and metro. Restaurant next to the hotel is good and reasonable prices. The hotel offer a shuttle service from the airport which is very reasonable compare to taxi rates in Madrid.

Stayed for a couple nights and dealt with amazingly friendly and efficient staff at the front desk, especially the bearded gentleman who worked in the evening/night. He went above and beyond to provide recommendations and suggestions.
My issue is with the woman working on the day of checkout (it was the first time that we dealt with her during our stay). Her attitude was completely blasé (fine, I know it is a tough job) but when asked how long it would take to get to the train station by taxi and metro, she kept insisting that it would be 10mins. In fact, it was more like 30-40 mins door to door so this inaccurate information could have caused us to miss our train. Unfortunately, this final encounter has left a bad taste for me but other than that this was a good budget option for Madrid.

New and cozy in central location
This was a nice, obviously newer hotel in a central location. The room itself was very small with a window only to a concrete wall but it was cozy, clean and more than adequate. Wifi worked well and we were able to walk to all of the attractions relatively easily. If taking metro to or from the airport, you do have to transfer. Other than that, we never even used the metro because we were able to walk everywhere. The neighborhood was very nice and safe with lots of options for shopping and food.

The location of the hotel is great. Rooms are nice. We had a room overlooking a park area/playground which was nice. Rooms aren't huge but are comfortable. WiFi is terrible! Hotel staff are very nice and helpful.

Great Hotel in the city!
We were very pleasantly surprised by the condition, location and amenities of this hotel. We had an easy time getting to the hotel from the airport via Express bus and the Metro. The hotel is a 2 minute walk from the Santo Domingo Metro stop. The rooms were colorful but tastefully decorated. Our room was a bit small but comfortable enough (especially for the price!!) The bath was clean and spacious, the bed comfortable and the staff terrific. They provided a nice breakfast at the restaurant next door and refilled the mini bar with water and soda every day at no charge.
We thoroughly enjoyed our time here and would highly recommend it to our friends.

The staff here was so amazing, they were helpful and very accommodating. I arrived very early because of my flight in and they made it so I could check in early. They have plenty to do that they offer through the hotel. The bathroom could have been a bit cleaner and the beds were rather stiff but for a place to clean up and sleep it was perfect. May different sites to be seen within walking distance. I would highly recommend this hotel!

Every time someone climbed the steps or opened the door of a nearby room, we could hear it. If you aren't noise sensitive like I am, it won't be a problem.

I am glad I booked this hotel. Centrally located, professional staff, clean, colorful/upbeat decoration, fairly priced breakfast, daily complimentary water and Coke in the mini bar, in sum, lots of reasons to like it. My room was bright and faced the street (thick curtains ensured no unwanted sunshine, though) very quiet, a little on the small side but fine for one person. Totally recommended!

My friend and I stayed at this hotel for 2 nights and both nights we didn't get sleep because of other guests screaming at the hallway late at night and early in the morning. Oh and they also knocked in our door at 8 AM when we went to sleep at 6 AM. No blackout curtain!!! Great location though. It's close to everything.

Modern, clean, safe, well located and includes so much! Loved this hotel. Staff were helpful. On a side street near everything. We walked most places as took the metro otherwise. A little hike from train station, ended up taking metro part way. Breakfast and dinner was in little restaurant attached. Fridge in room had 2 cokes & 2 water bottles for us free every day. Wifi worked great. would definitely use again and look up this Chain in other areas. Very noisy though. We luckily had the Switzerland room at the end of the hall which was decent.

We had an awesome stay here. Our room was very comfortable and clean. Complementary water and pepsi. The country themes were a nice touch. The hotel is in a perfect location with most of the biggest attractions within walking distance and close to the metro. Breakfast is very basic (yoghurt, toast/croissant, OJ, Coffee) but for the price you can not get anything better! Would highly recommend staying in this hotel!

Hotel is friendly and check in easy. Rooms are small which is fine. My biggest fault with this hotel was the bathroom, very small and not so clean and the towels were terrible. Full of other peoples hairs and shabby. We also had to ask daily for toilet paper. When the room was cleaned they kept replacing the empty rolls with almost empty rolls...The location was great, central and in a quiet location. I probably would not stay here again, for the price range I have stayed better.

Don't let the price fool you - this one is not a hostel!! A delightful hotel witha twist!! Rooms aren't numbered - they are named after countries!! While admittedly smaller than many hotel rooms, the JC packs a lot of fun and charm into the experience! Free mini bar, an amazing shower (water from all directions!) and a great location not far from the Puerto del Sol, the JC is a nice little gem! I almost want to give a bad review so it doesn't become \"discovered\"! I will definitely stay again!

We enjoyed this hotel. The front desk staff was more than friendly and new English well. It also has a great location for kids with the playground right in front of it. The location within the city is great as well. We walked everywhere, as it is close to all the major sights and even the Dia store was helpful to have close by.
Our bathroom in the Estonia room had a little bit of a funky smell, but for the price, we didn't mind it too much. The heat in the room was comfortable, the water temperature was great, the beds were comfortable and the fridge and safe were great to have.

Nice hotel in good location. Rooms are small but modern. Bathrooms are very small with not even a shelf to put extra items -- the counter for the sink is the basically three inches more in diameter than the sink itself. Lack of counter/shelf space means that you must place your items on the floor or on top of the toilet. The floor of the bathroom was dirty, especially in the corners behind the door and toilet, under the sink, etc. Restaurant next door is reasonably priced and served good food. The restaurant's Paella was better than some of the more expensive restaurants and is served in an authentic paella pan (one is more than enough to two hungry adults).
