The photos on the listing aren’t even of the street where this hostel is located. It’s listed as a hotel but it’s a hostel. They show a fantastic buffet but no buffet exists. They claim there’s a continental breakfast but there isn’t a breakfast offered. They have no kitchen and no pastries are offered. The entry to the hostel is on the third floor of an apartment building in a dark backstreet. There’s not a sign on the building to indicate a hotel or hostel is located in that building. Only when looking at the apartment numbers to get buzzed in do you see their name. It was scary and I almost didn’t stay there because my wife was petrified. She was expecting a hotel, not a dirty and dingy third floor hostel on a back street. But I had already paid a non refundable fee so I decided to check it out and it was run by some sweet elderly ladies. I won’t even go into the sticky dirty floor and lumpy bed. I can deal with that. But I despise dishonesty and the listing was EXTREMELY deceptive. Great location though. It’s just a couple streets from a prime area.

The location of this place is probably one of the best in terms of being able to walk to everything within 15 minutes or less. The room is soft was very simple and clean and overall the stay was great. Keep in mind. The elevator is really small and you have to go up to the third floor in case you have a lot of luggage or lots of people in your group that might be a little tricky -other than that everything was awesome.

The location is perfect! It’s just a block away from Metro (Opera Station) that will bring you everywhere in the city of Madrid. The room is small but clean, if you need a place to sleep and refresh, it is perfect. Of course you will hear a bit the noise outside because it’s in the city center. Close to Mercado de San Miguel, Plaza Mayor, San Gines, Opera house and more, as in, it’s located in the busy street.

Luz Madrid rooms is located in the center of all atractions, metro, all is walking distance and you can make from the airport by the metro. The owners are very caring, hospitable, attentive. I was feeling at home that definitely, I will comeback. On top, is extremely well clean, with a good pillow, mattress, hot water. I highly recommend the location. Let's start out by saying good is not bad. I got a private room with private bathroom. Yes the room was small but so was the price. I paid around $200 CAD for a night but was right in the centre square of Madrid. Being that it is so central don't expect quiet. If you are a sound sleeper invest in some good earplugs Most rooms in this area are 800+. I feel like I got value for my money.

The location is great ~ walkable to many Madrid locations. Simple room, okay for a night of sleep. Heads up, you need a code to enter the hotel that was not provided before we arrived. We had to wait for other people to come out of the hotel to let us in for check-in. Then at check-in we received the door code. They could do a better job by communicating the front door code in an email BEFORE the guest is standing in front of the hotel, locked out.

The management was very friendly and helpful. The room , although not fancy, was very spacious and clean with a balcony view. Location was perfect. So the pictures on here are not what you will get. This hostel is OLD. The elevator is like 18” wide. The room has a very dated feel and the plaster was cracking. The bathroom was just as dated. Bad enough we checked in and out same night and found a place elsewhere

Please note that this is room rental as the name implies; however, the place is very clean and the location is right in the middle of the city center. Plenty of great restaurants and shopping. We feel that the description of the room as a superior double was misleading, the decoration and furniture was shabby and beds were 2 singles. Staff we met only spoke Spanish, not English as advertised.

This was a fairly basic hotel, with perfectly adequate facilities, smack in the middle of Madrid, up a busy lane near a main square. No frills and largely left to get on with it. Luckily, I was towards the rear, away from the street noise.

Margarite was very helpful with the luggage on my arrival and departure. (I must travel light next time).
The problem with the lift has only happened once before in 8 years.

Small quaint hostel in a central location. Easy to walk to tourist areas like San Miguel Mercado, Palacio, various plazas too name a few. Bring your best walking shoes. I even walked to Parque Retiro 😊 hostel has a very tiny elevator or you can use stairs 3rd floor. The price was reasonable since I split with my roommate. Near the Opera Metro. Indicate twin beds if you are rooming with a friend. Our flight left late in the evening n she kept our bags so we can enjoy the day prior to our departure. Thank you!

The location is awesome because it's in the heart of a busy area so it was great for finding places to eat, shop, and just walk around. Everything is right outside your door. However at night, when you're trying to sleep, it can be a little noisy. The noise doesn't necessarily make it a bad stay, it's just good to know so that you can understand and set your expectations. The room is older but they keep it clean and the staff is nice.
