The staff were super nice and the hotel was a great location (near metro, etc). However I’m not sure I’ve ever stayed in a hotel where the walls were as paper thin - I could hear my neighbors talking late at night and at 4:30 AM as well. VERY frustrating.

The hotel was just okay for a one-night stay. The rooms are quite small, and the property overall feels like it has seen better days. During our visit, the main elevator was broken, so we had to use the service elevator, which wasn’t very convenient.

On the positive side, the location is excellent—very central and within easy walking distance to restaurants, shopping, and the main attractions. Good for a quick stay, but I would consider other options for a longer visit.

Overall it is a nice boutique hotel in a great location. Unfortunately our room was infested with ants. We did report this to the staff and responded with appropriate concern and expressed their intent to address the problem right away. We had family in another room and they didn’t have any issues.

Check in was easy. About a day or so prior to our arrival we got an email from the hotel through Expedia asking for more information. This included passport #, phone numbers. I felt a little uneasy but filled it out. The rest of the people in our group did not do that. It made the check in process very easy. The hotel is retrofitted, but is nice. The large stairwell that you can use has enough room to put an elevator, so that's where the elevator is. Rooms are small, but nice. Lots of outlets to charge your devices, but no USB ports. There is a closet, 2 small nite stands, one small desk, a reasonably sized closet. The bathroom is small, but has really nice fixtures.
We did take a 15 minute taxi from the train station to the hotel (13 euros).
The taxi was not able to drop us off in front of the hotel since they weren't allowed to go there. And on top of that our particular driver pointed in the wrong direction, in spite of what Google maps was telling me. So, I ignored her directions and we walked about 400 yards (about 130 meters) to the hotel in the opposite direction.
Staff are wonderful. The included breakfast was wonderful. Wifi is fast. I measured 96 MBPS upload and download.
The hotel is very close to many of the scenic highlights in Madrid. Dining options are everywhere. We walked to practically all of our destinations . Would definitely stay here again

Really expensive for the facilities on offer. The biggest advantage - you are right in the heart of the city ie Sol. Lots of dining options nearby. Very Well connected stay option. It is in a great central location, in a pedestrian only street full of shops and restaurants.
It is in an old building, totally renovated. The buffet breakfast is in a cave-like basement. Really cool! Great food!

Excellent: friendly and educated staff, breakfast was superb at the loveliest place, location is spot on, cleanliness.
Good: feels safe.
Very bad: elevator did not work (a secondary maintenance elevator was enabled, we preferred the stairs). Shower got clogged and the room flooded. Air conditioner worked well, but vent leaked pretty bad.

Overall: nice looking hotel, right at Madrid’s heart. A vintage building which was fascinating by itself, but must keep their facilities up to date.

The location is great! I just wish the reception staff would have been a little more helpful when it came to figuring out the parking and driving rules in Barcelona. They live there and should inform the guests since the rules are a bit unusual.

The hotel is located on a pedestrian street which is a plus. However, the property is run down and has little to no amenities other than a good breakfast available for a price. There is only one elevator which makes getting to your floor difficult especially if carrying larger luggage. The rooms were clean. Hotel is not worth the price and should be downgraded to a two star rating.

Excellent location in Madrid centro, walkable, close to Plaza del Sol and Plaza Mayor. Very clean and excellent customer service from staff. A couple of things that need attention and improvement. The noise, you can hear everything from your bedroom. Personnel vacuuming woke us up almost everyday and they clean early in the morning. Not great for people on holidays. The elevator clearly says that received unfavorable score in the last inspection. We left with the impression that an accident can happen anytime.

Double Room - 8/10. Clean. Good size. Faced courtyard, so nice and quiet. A/C didn’t seem to work, but was bearable without. Would be nightmare in hot summer months.
Bathroom - 8/10. Clean. Good size. Great shower, but door seal no good, so bath mat got soaked every time.
Bed - 10/10. Very comfy.
WiFi - 10/10. Very good. No issues.
Breakfast - 10/10. Great choice and great quality.
Staff - 10/10. ALL the staff were helpful, polite and professional.
Hotel - 8/10. Perfect location. As well as the above niggles, the room key cards never worked first time (even after getting them replaced). And guessing this is a pet-friendly hotel, which is ok unless you’re near a yappy dog. Would still recommend though.

For the price we paid, this hotel did not meet our expectations. We were particularly astounded that there was no basic coffeemaker either in the room (as would be reasonably expected in a 3-star hotel), or at the very least in the tiny common area on the ground floor or elsewhere in the hotel; and staff said we couldn’t even order a coffee during their breakfast period in the -1 level dining room unless we paid for their 14 euro pp breakfast. They gave us a kettle for our room and we ended up buying our own milk and instant coffee (not that instant could ever replace a good espresso but we were making do till we would get out for the day!) but for about 500 euros (about $740CA) for a 3 night stay, they should do better (in this case they literally could have brought us a few packets of instant and some creamers - at least something to demonstrate an attempt to address our needs). Expedia tried to get a refund on our behalf for our last night (so we could leave a day early and find another hotel), but the management refused to accommodate this request. With so many other better options in the vicinity, hotels that we know take more care to make guests feel welcome (e.g. a mini local wine bottle or cookies at arrival, a coffee station and microwave in a common area, as we experienced in similar 3-star hotels in Barcelona and Malaga ) this hotel should make some relatively minor adjustments so that guests can feel welcome and cared for for the price we pay.

The place is in a bustling shopping area with a plethora of dining options. The staff is great and attentive to the guests’ needs. The check-in and check-out process was a breeze. The cleanliness aspect could use some improvement. We stayed on the 1st floor and there were 2 mini cockroaches lurking by the curtains that we had to get rid of. I am not sure if this is a norm in this side of town. Otherwise, it was a pleasant stay.

This boutique hotel is very cute and placed exactly 10min walking from all main attractions. It is very clean and Nadia was very nice as well. The rokm was ready when you arrived so we were able to get situated quite early.
A lot of shopping areas and dining options. For a great stay vs the money spend.

Small but good option if you're looking for value

Overall a good value compared to some of the prices of rooms around area. Rooms are really small, maneuvering 2 people a little difficult. Bathrooms are nice. A little noisy in hallway. Staff are really great! Took a 2 night side trip here from our main trip in Barcelona, so we weren't in the room much. Overall if you're looking for a clean place, close to Plaza Mayor, Grand Via, etc for a reasonable price this is a good option. If you're looking for more comfort, maybe not for you. We chose not to get the breakfast since there are places around to get a bite.

This is the perfect location for a visit to Madrid. The location was super convenient to get to Plaza Mayor, or Puerta de Sol, and the best chocolate place in the city was across the street. The hotel staff were all incredibly kind and informative, and the hotel itself was quiet, clean and comfortable.

Very convenient location just a few minutes’ walk from Plaza Mayor, Puerta del Sol and the Royal Palace. Bathrooms are newly remodeled. Parking in a nearby public underground lot isn’t cheap, even with the hotel discount - but that’s to be expected, given the location in central Madrid. We had an AC failure in our room on a very hot day but we’re given a fan and a good discount on our first night’s satay. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was excellent. Overall a great value!

Really convenient location to access all the shopping in La Gran Via and Plaza del Sol. Service was just ok from the night person at the front desk. She seemed bothered all the time. Sonia and Miguel from the morning shift were very helpful and professional. Breakfast buffet it very good and has many options from fruit to Jamon, Eggs and Bacon.

It was hard for us to locate, especially with a car. Once we figured out where it was, the staff helped us find the parking garage. The location was great for walking around. We loved the balcony so we could see the busy street below. The room was spacious and great for our family of 5.

The location of this hotel is really good; we could walk to so many tourist places, food, drinks, shopping, etc. The breakfast is also very very good. The room is nice, and the bathroom pretty spacious and modern. However, our room had a pretty bad smell (not sure where it was coming from) and the AC barely worked. We had more family staying in another room which had no smell, but still bad AC. I tried changing rooms but since the hotel was full it was not possible; because we were staying only 1 night we stayed with no major issues (the beds are nice and comfortable). Overall not a bad stay, but because of the AC and bad smell I don't think that I would stay here again.

Wonderful, centrally located hotel. Ruth at breakfast was great each morning and the breakfast spread was amazing! The exterior doors on the balcony are very quiet once shut, however the interior door and the walls are thin. Also, air conditioner is controlled by the building as a whole so it can get warm during the day. On weekends there is a club across from the entrance that can get noisy. Would stay here again with how centrally located it is to metro stops and walking distance to some of the best spots.

I stayed here with my family in a Quad recently and had a lovely time. The staff were super friendly and helpful! They were able to provide recommendations for food, sightseeing, and also responded quickly to any of our needs (ie kettle request, concern with mild leaking sink pipe). They are all very conversational in English as well. Another huge pro of this location is the proximity to all the major sights and subway line, making our limited time in Madrid quite efficient. The room itself was newly renovated and clean. Despite a busy pedestrian walkway, it was pretty quiet at nighttime. While small for a family of four, it was definitely worth the price, service, and quality. Would definitely stay here again!

The staff was very friendly and the room was perfect for my family and the bathroom looked newly remodeled. The breakfast buffet was filling and a good price. The location of the hotel is perfect, right in the center of Madrid. I was able to walk every where I went and didn’t need transportation. The only complaint is that the hallways always smelled bad, like a public bathroom. However the smell did not linger into the rooms at all.
