It was located in the middle of the action so that’s not a problem. The problem was the room got so hot and it was no way to cool it down because they don’t turn the AC on until summer so you can only have key on but if you turn the heat off, no air comes in from the windows. So it was very uncomfortably hot.

What a gem bang in the middle of everything. The reception was warm and welcoming. The room functional, a decent size and newly refurbished to a good standard. Situated right in the middle of the pedestrian area of central Madrid it doesn`t come much better for a city break hotel. Special thanks to Helen on the front desk and the other young lady that saw us in on Saturday afternoon 21/02. Fluent English and just lovely

My stay at Petit Palace Puerta del Sol was fantastic and withing my intended spending budget as a solo traveler.
All staff were so curteous and the food was better than most other hotels I've stayed in before. My room was so clean, and always smelled amazing! I have recommeded to other friends and family memebers about this hotel. It was close to every destination I intended to visit. There was no need for an UBER nor train. The whole area was walkable. I hope to return in the near future, with company.

The room was very spacious. We loved being right on a major metro line with easy access to and from the train station. Walkable to major sites. We were there during a festival period and there were shows on the plaza, but it wasn’t too loud. The sunrises and sunsets from our balcony were amazing!

This hotel couldn’t be in a better spot! You’re just minutes away from restaurants, local shops, and plenty to explore on foot — the location really is a win.

When it comes to comfort, though, there’s a bit of room for improvement. The beds and pillows weren’t the most comfortable, and the towels could definitely be softer. Also, keep in mind that the A/C system isn’t quite like what you’d find in the U.S., so if you’re visiting during warm weather, be prepared for it to feel a bit different.

We changed our accommodation last minute and found Petit Palace Puerta del Sol & we are so glad.
We had a quad room (2 adults & 2 kids) and it was great!
The room was spacious and bathroom very nice.
The location is great and we did so much walking! Lots of shopping, eateries and a big supermarket & shopping centre next street over.
We would stay again when we come back :)

This property is located in close proximity to Sol plaza which is best plaza in my opinion even better than Royal Plaza for liveliness.

The street where the hotel is located in only for walking and therefore you will have to walk atleast 1-2 minutes to reach there or acess taxi/public transport. But that was not an inconvenience in anyway.

We had amazing stay with really sweet and helpful staff who made our stay really comfortable. Room was clean and balcony with view of Sol plaza.

It is so well located that we walked around everywhere and didn't need to take any transport other than for train station/airport. Would definitely recommend staying here.

Perfect location for a short stay. Not recommended if you come with large suitcases for a longer stay there or around the area because the room is very small and tight. The shower is uncomfortable too.

The hotel was located in the center of Madrid. Everything was walkable and the area felt safe. Staff spoke English and Spanish and were very nice. The taxis all lined up a block away from the hotel every morning and were reasonably priced. It was exactly a mile from Retiro Park, a half mile from Plaza Mayor, about a mile from the royal palace in the opposite way, right next to the puerta del sol and right in front of lots of restaurants and souvenir shops. The mall corte ingles with a grocery store was also only 2 blocks away. The rooms were cleaned very well and the staff was attentive and helpful.

The quality of the hotel was not worthy of 3 stars or the price we were charged. The lobby had a stale smell and felt like a one start hostel. There was no functioning air conditioning in our room, so to overcome that we opened the window and heard street noises all night. There is coffee and tea in the room but no milk- when in inquired I was told they have no milk (but clearly they do since they serve breakfast in the mornings?). Our 4 person room was tiny and dirty. Would not recommend for family. Overall you are paying 3 star hotel prices for a hostel experience. Very poor value for money.

Good central spot for first trip to Madrid

The hotel is located right beside the central square of Madrid “Puerta del Sol”. It is a very busy area but our room was quiet and we could t hear anything from outside.
Hallway noise could be heard easily inside the hotel however.
The room was very clean with a spacious bathroom. The sleeping area was usual size for a European hotel (ie small by North American standards). The bed was comfortable enough but I found I had to switch sides frequently during the night to relieve some pressure spots.
Staff were very welcoming and helpful. The breakfast was excellent with a wide selection of bread, cheese, eggs, cereal, juice, fruit and coffee. Would recommend getting the breakfast package with your stay because there aren’t many breakfast options in walking distance.
The Sol metro station is about a 1 minute walk from the door of the hotel. East walking distance to everything in the centre of Madrid- Plaza Mayor, Gran Via, Real Palace
