There is no other hotel in this town with a better location. The building is beautiful and very historic. You’ll never close your way with the location of this hotel. It’s inches away from Plaza Mayor. The reception staff were extremely friendly and helpful and spoke excellent English

We enjoyed our stay here! It was perfectly situated and we walked everywhere from here. The staff was nice-we were able to store luggage. The breakfast was incredible- so much to choose from and excellent quality.
The beds were comfy and the bathroom was impeccably clean.
The reasons I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 were-
*The walls are paper thin. I could hear babies crying all night long.
*The room is tiny and the window looked out into a dingy space-didn’t bother us that much as we were gone most of the time, but I want to mention.
*It’s a little outdated.
I loved it, but it’s definitely a solid 4 stars. It worked perfectly for our family and I would recommend it and stay there again.

Fantastic location although the upkeep of the rooms could have been better. Most electrical sockets in our room did not work when we arrived - to be fair this was resolved by the hotel within a few hours of reporting it, so was overcome although it did take the shine off our arrival.

Location was fantastic but room had a very complicated safe, which we could not operate, the toilet and shower were in an opaque glass unit without a lock on the door, in the room, which was not ideal. I would not agree that it was 4 star. But bed comfortable and room and hotel clean. No communal lounge so you had to sit in your room if you did not go out. Breakfast good.

This hotel has an ideal location right in the middle of restaurants and shops. Make sure to have your taxi drop you at the right street because you have a bit of a walk if you have a lot of luggage since it's situated in a pedestrian-only area. The room was clean. The bathroom was fairly clean as well. However, the room was extremely hot even with the windows wide open. The front desk promptly sent up a fan and explained that we needed to turn off the cooling unit since the entire building was set to heat only. It helped a bit. The included breakfast was lovely and the front desk staff as well as the restaurant staff were extremely friendly and helpful.

This is touted to be the oldest hotel in Spain. Not much of the old is left to match the title. But the updates are starting to look very old and need maintenance. Two mornings both of the coffee machines were broken and we could not have coffee with breakfast. There was an ice machine in the main lobby but the ice made evything taste terrible and was not usable. Has to buy ice from the market a couple blocks away every day. The air conditioner in our room would not work. The location was quite convenient.

This hotel is a historic 17th century hotel that is well kept with amazing staff and service. Breakfast is delicious and is included. If there is a ding, it’s just that in our room (it could be different with the other rooms) the wall between the bathroom and master bed is made of frosted glass. The downside is if any of my kids need to use the toilet, the lights in the bathroom filters into the masterbedroom.

Petit Palace was an excellent place to stay. It was challenging to find at first but once we knew were it was, it was great. Close to the sites. Balcony doors blocked out the noise. Staff was very friendly. Breakfast was abundant. The rooms would benefit from being upgraded but overall, I would stay there again in heartbeat.

The history is amazing and they’ve renovated it very, very well. It’s steps for the Plaza Mayor. The staff are super helpful and if you like breakfast at the hotel, theirs is above average. The shower was really good and I was super prized at the space. Better than another, more well known hotel that we stayed at previously for less money.

Beautiful boutique hotel located within a few walking minutes to Plaza Mayor and other landmarks.

The staff was great! Joel and Oxsana were very helpful and very accommodating. The breakfast buffet had a variety of options and plenty of seating for the guests.

If you’re visiting Madrid in the near future I highly recommend you stay at this hotel.

A special shout out to Mari in charge of breakfast buffet. The location of hotel is perfect especially for first time visitors, except for EXTREMELY noisy.
The hotel common areas are very neglected. Ripped “leather” couches in lobby, damaged and dirty baseboards, ripped carpets in hallways, scuff marks and damage on walls.
Room shower had embedded mold in caulking.
Some areas had grime that I was able to remove with a disposable toothbrush. I did this to verify if grime was embedded like in caulking. It wasn’t.
Will not stay here again.

Only negative is that the room was configured a bit awkwardly—a very large bathroom created by glass partitioning made for tight quarters elsewhere. But as problems go, that is about a 2 on a scale of 10. This is a beautiful, historic building (as you will learn), right by the Plaza Mayor. Highly recommended

Overall, this hotel is located in a great central area. My friends and I stayed in a room fit for four people. The only con was that the ladder to reach the top bunk was not comfortable on the feet. Other than that, this was a great budget, friendly option for Madrid.

Pros: Great location in center of Madrid, walkable distance to all attractions, less than 1 mile away from Palace and Prado museums. Great attentive staff and reception. Outstanding breakfast m, totally worth the money!!!

Cons: Outdated rooms, leaky shower cabin, some water damage, some decolorisation on the ceiling. Some of this is expected due to age of the historic building. But the use of space is pretty poor, I would put more furniture and seal shower cabin or install sliding door. Minor investment may easily turn these rooms into great place to stay.

Overall we had a great time there if you do not mind minor inconveniences and spend most of the day running around the city. Plenty of space, just needs an update and replanning.

Great 400 year old historic hotel (with Madrid Gold plate outside the door) in the heart of Madrid. There are hundreds of shopping and dining options just within 10 minutes radius. Great location if you like to stay near bustling area of Madrid. The property is old but well maintained. The breakfast is really amazing with a lot of options. Rooms are good size.

Hay secadora de cabello grande y espejo de aumento (aunque el de esta recámara estaba desprendido).
Tiene 2 elevadores.
Buena ubicación para turistas que van por primera vez y quieren conocer.

Ofrecen artículos personales de limpieza, al igual que pantuflas y bata.

El desayuno muy completo y buen sazón.

CONS:
La caja fuerte solo funciona utilizando tarjeta de crédito personal.

Para llegar al hotel con equipaje grande, solo utilizar taxis autorizados. (No uber, ni carro particular).

Solo regalan una botella de agua el primer día (pareciera que no quieren consentir a los huéspedes de estancia más prolongada).

The hotel is very cozy and nice. It is extremely close to all of the attractions in the area and the major plaza. For being in the middle of things, you can’t get better.

Our only complaint was thenoise. It is on several of the busiest streets in the area for walking, bars, and restaurants, and it is very loud. Bring earplugs!

Pros: 1. Outstanding location 2. Nice breakfast 3. Great customer service from staff 4. Nice sized rooms and good housekeeping in rooms.
Cons 1. It has none of the amenities expected in a 4 star hotel. 2. The reception desk area is cluttered with boxes and miscellaneous stuff 3. While we were there, mattresses were stored in the hallway. 4. The carpets are worn with torn area near steps. No coffee or sugar in the rooms - must ask at desk. I would stay there again but only for the location - 50 meters from Plaza Mayor. The area around the hotel is fantastic day and night.

The property was in a great location in the heart of old Madrid near many of the key tourist sights. The room was great and front desk staff were very helpful. The room on the 4th floor was slanted on 1/2 the room. To walk around the beds, you had to duck down a bit. Otherwise it was good. Staff was helpful. Breakfast was good, too.great location.
