The breakfast, which costed €5 extra, was in a place 300m away from the property, not in the hotel. It was a good place and a good breakfast, but the cost was around €5 anyway (or even less), and for that money I would have preferred to have a choice of where I get my breakfast. It wasn’t a good deal.

We only stayed for one night because we had a layover in Madrid. The hotel is a little hard to find as you have to look by the door for the name of it. The room is small but that’s expected based on price. It is a clean room and a clean bathroom, shower pressure is great. It’s close to metro and walking distance from major sights

This place is a gem right in the heart of Madrid. Do not expect a 4 star hotel, it is a hostel: small with what is needed to sleep and bathe. It was really clean, the room, bed and bathroom. Bathroom is private inside the room but there’s is also one outside. Comfortable and “big enough” for 2-4 days stay (for two). Be mindful it is small but we just went to sleep and keep going the next day so it was perfect for us. Walkable everywhere: plaza mayor, Corte ingles, really close to Chocolatería San Gines and a subway station. Felt safe during the stay and streets around the place. Would definetly stay again.

I don’t know why hotels in Madrid are so much more expensive compare to Barcelona or other city .. I was in Barcelona center a 4 star hotel and paying almost half , compare to this 2 star hostel in Madrid .. honestly it is good location, but not the best for what you are paying .

The hotel is located literally in the heart of Madrid. Easy accessibility to the major attractions and shopping areas. The hotel itself is very well managed. Clean and tidy room, although the amenities are a bit old fashioned. Yet it has the good value for money - affordable price in such a prime location. I would recommend this hotel to those who would put location at his/her top priority.

It's essentially a hostel, but the location was awesome. Staff was very kind and helpful in finding places to spend time outside of work. There is a lot of noise from people on the street below, but it's not something that bothered me at all. I felt very lucky to be in such a great location.

Great place to rest after a tiring day. Have to ring the bell outside to let the owner know that you have a booking so they can let you in. Then up the stairs to next floor. The will scan your passports and give you the room key.

This hotel is all about location and function. It has everything you need, but nothing else. The rooms are small and cute, but there is nothing on the walls except a tv. It is clean and well-kept. It has good wifi, the ac worked well, and the staff is great. We had a streetside room with a view and it was quiet. My biggest complaint was the uncomfortable bed. Other than that, the room served us well. As for location, it is in the heart of everything and we loved that.

Superb hotel located near the Placio Royale, and excellent shopping and night life...close to the Opera Metro Stop as well...no breakfast available, but there are plenty of places just down the street. Also close to the Plaza Mayor and great locations for tapas and pinchos. You will not regret booking at this outstanding hotel and its friendly, helpful staff!

Madrid is a beautiful city full of cultural sites and churches, squares, plenty of walking options for on foot exploring. Just a walk away for this hotel are plenty of great sights, shops , squares, eateries. I went in Spring and it was cold and rainy but I still had a wonderful time. The managers are lovely and will assist you whenever they can. This is also a very secure older building so all the single ladies who may be worried about solo travel can stay here - its close to everything and I found Madrid to be a friendly and beautiful city

I was pleased with my stay here. I stayed 3 nights and the room was clean, comforrtable, and in a great location. The room and shower were small, the shower particularly small, but not bad. Especially for one. The difference in the price from a weekend to weekday was considerable. Depending on the price, i would stay here again if i were traveling without my family. The front desk service and staff were friendly and helpful.

Three nights, reasonable for Friday and Sunday, 3 times as much for Saturday. Might be normal but could be because of the tens of thousands there for the gay pride parade (surprise). Easy access, safe, comfortable.

I stayed for 4 nights at Hostal Las Fuentes. My room was small, but it was immaculately clean with nice bed linen, a good good shower and good heating. I didn't try the breakfast. The staff were very helpful and let me leave my luggage for the day as I had a late flight out of Madrid. It was really great value for money and the Hostal was only a minute's walk away from the Opera metro. Couple of things to note, it took me a while to realise that there is a remote in your room to turn off the coloured LED lights when you want to sleep. The safe in my room required you to use a 1 euro coin to lock it.

My husband and I arrived in Madrid on an overnight flight from the East Coast of the USA. Check in wasn't till noon but they let us keep our luggage there, which was really accommodating of them. When we came back at noon, our originally intended room wasn't ready but they gave us one that was.
Staff is really nice. Our sheets had stains on them but they were swapped the next day for cleaner sheets, and housekeeping cleaned our room daily and kept it in pretty nice condition.
The room averaged to about $72/night. Really not bad for a hotel right next to Opera, Plaza Mayor, and Puerta del Sol.
Decent amenities. Hair dryer, some toiletries, flat screen TV, free wifi. Drinks from the minibar fridge cost 1.25 Euro.

Stayed in Las Fuentes four nights, really convenient location next to Opera metro and close to Sol metro. The room was small, but in contrast, the bathroom was more than decent sized. Clean, and decorated very nice, quite elegant. we could feel the Spanish atmosphere. Staff was friendly, so for us there is nothing to complain about. Would stay there again.

Remember this is a hostel. The room was small, but clean and the bed was decently comfortable. Everything worked, including window unit A/C which was a necessity in Madrid in the summer. Staff at the front desk were very helpful and spoke good English. Location was on a side street with not a lot going on, but plazas with lots to do on either ends of the street. One has a metro station and it's a short walk to the royal palace, cathedral, opera, Plaza Mayor, La Latina district, etc., etc. Great place for a budget rate for a solo traveler to enjoy central / old quarter of Madrid.

We visit a daughter who lives in Madrid. The Hostel is in the centre of Madrid and near Opera metro station. Breakfast isn't in the Hostel but near outside. It's a top location for visitors who wants to see te centre of the town.

I requested 2 beds and a rollaway bed, yet when we arrived they charged us an additional 35 euros for the third person. There was an agreed upon price and they made no effort whatsoever to accommodate our reservation. Poor service and unclean rooms as well.

Wonderful for a weekend break. The location is perfect. Only 5-10 minutes walk from Opera, Plaza Mayor and Plaza del Sol. The rooms were small, but the facilities clean and comfortable, so why would you want to spend time other than sleeping when there is this wonderful city to explore? It can be a bit noisy at night from outside if you like sleeping with windows open

Very clean and modest furnishings, polite and helpful staff, good security (you have to get buzzed in twice to enter) and excellent location. The A/C was not very strong, and it was an extremely hot week in Madrid with temperatures in the 90s and 100s. But the A/C was just good enough so we weren't too uncomfortable and could sleep. The beds were not very comfortable, but not the worst we've had. One downside was no window, but we got used to that.

So I gave it 5 stars overall because it was exactly what I expected it to be. It was close to everything and it was clean and had a bathroom. The front desk was very helpful as well. Rooms are a bit small but as I said, nothing I was not expecting.

In old building on a narrow side street near the Opera, this hostal has a new interior. While the room was very small, it is quite sufficient if you only want to sleep. Room was very clean. My room overlooked the street. Noise was minimal because of new interior windows. If you are looking for an inexpensive place to stay with a great location, this is an excellent choice.

My room was at the far end and I cannot say there was a wifi connection in my room at all but in the ad it says that there is! I was really disappointed. When i checked in, there was a lady who doesn't speak -not even 1 word of- english. we couldn't communicate at all and she started to yell!! The location of the hostal is great, and easy to find, extremely close to the center of madrid. The metro system is excellent so traveling anywhere is the easiest.

The room was very dark, small and had mould on the ceilling. It was difficult to get into the bath with the strange glass door. The only plug I could see it was the one in the bathroom. Amazing location and very nice staff.

It was a pleasant and comfortable stay in Madrid. It really set the standard for the class of hotel it belong too. Nevermind the window view. Although we were initial lost (Restaurante Las Fuentes)when we get down the metro and finding the entrance of the hotel (its beside some kind of 'leather making/architect shop-look for a small speaker on the right side of a big wooden door and head up to the 1st level - 2nd level in SG context), after checking in, do a lil of exploring, you discover the hotel is within walking distance of Plaza Mayor where you can get the Madrid card (Tourist Information) and souvenirs. I recommend for those looking for a really reasonable price with a good location.

The room had a musty smell. It was cold in the room and they did not turn on the heat. My room was right by the front desk and I could hear everything as if I was in the lobby. And when I took a shower the water in the tub came up past my ankles. But the staff was friendly and they had free internet and wifi and the location was great. Although it was hard to find the place because they was no proper sign outside or inside the building.

My room was small, but it was the single room. The hotel was very clean, both in my room and reception, hallways etc. Very well maintained. Staff were very pleasant and friendly, even if they didn't speak too much English ( it is Spain after all!) when you arrive make sure you go to the first floor with the door marked 'CH', some people may find it difficult to find. Walls were fairly thin so you could here most things going on. It didn't bother me as I was out most of the time, and there weren't that many people coming back late. Good central location close to all the top sites in Madrid. Be sure not to miss Mercado San Miguel, just at the top of Calle Las Fuentes, top quality food and drink, busy and vibrant.

Weird setting, you cannot even see it's a hotel from the outside. As a single gilr you need someone to follow you home. Reception hardly speaks English. Very loud, you got waken up by receptionist loud voice or neighbours. TV not working.

This place really surprised me. Most of the hostals (cheap hotels) that I have stayed at in Spain are generally a little dodgy but you expect it for the great price. This place was like a decent hotel! Excellent price and an amazing location right in the heart of Madrid in one of the safest and prettiest areas. Had everything from towels to soap and shampoo and a hair dryer. Key card system. Bed was a little uncomfortable mainly because we were two very tall people in a standard double bed. Door to the bathroom didn't close but other than that very happy.
