Couldn't ask for a better location. Right across the road from the royal palace and a metro station just round the corner. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. My room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. Very happy with my stay here and if I was to return to Madrid for another holiday I would be more than happy to stay here again.

Hotel is in a beautiful and excellent location. Best thing about the place! Next was the staff…very friendly, accommodating, attentive. Our room was huge and looked like it had been recently remodeled to suit a family or longer stay; there was kitchenette with a high table and stools, a sink and cabinets with some kitchen-type items but no stove. Although the bathroom was modern and very clean, it was oddly tiny compared to the main room. And we had a single window in the corner that looked down into the atrium, so the room was just dark. Other than those quirks, we enjoyed our stay.

Amazing location!! Dont think you could pick a better area to stay. Excellent value. Stairs to facilities were steep, so not ideal for someone who may struggle accessing. However, if this is not an issue, this is perfect. Great find for price!!

The building is well maintained and is aging well, just across the way from the Royal Palace and the royal theatre/opera house next door. A wonderfully efficient staff fulfills every request. This is in a charming area far from the bustle of the city.

I actually liked the ladder access to the bathroom; it made it interesting. The room was ok, nothing special. I did not have a view but that was fine since I only stayed one night. The best part was the staff. The young lady who checked me in was lovely..I forgot her name. The man who checked me out was very kind in helping me secure a cab to the airport. He wanted to make sure I was safe and cared for. I wish I had their names cause they made up for the lack of view. Thanks:)

Floor tiles were loose throughout, no amenities such as lotion, tissues. Desk staff friendly, room was massive. Across from the palace and minutes to restaurants and shopping.

A challenge to find the lobby to start off with, but a warm welcome was given. On returning to my room 106 early evening l could hear the noise of a really load extractor fan, so loud that even with ear plugs in you could hear it. I spoke to the man in receptor and he said it would stop around 23:00 and that was that - asked for a room change but nada - very little concern for what must be a regular occurrence as it can from a restaurant kitchen below

Pleasantly surprised. It’s old but beautifully decorated, the suit had a perfect view of the Royal Palace and was filled with antique furnishings.

Great location... I felt I overpaid, the room felt very empty and dull. Bed was pretty okay and comfy. Our room was right behind the front desk office so that was kind of weird. My friend said he got a way better room for the same room type so I felt I overpaid. I recommend no need to get a room with a view. Get a basic room and go explore. The view is nice but not worth the price difference.

We had a wonderful stay at this charming property, we highly recommend. The location is great, we walked everywhere and there is a metro around the block. The Plaza Oriente is beautiful, the Royal Palace is in front of the plaza. The cafe downstairs for breakfast is charming, don't expect a huge breakfast, it offered several choices of variations of continental breakfast. Try the bread with tomato/ olive oil , pleasantly delicious, fresh squeezed OJ and great coffee. BTW the taxi we took from the airport (30 Euros) couldn't drop us off in front , the area is a no car zone. We just walked a short distance. The room was a large inner room (504) sparkling clean, it was very nice to have a small bottle of Cava and red wine complementary. We were a bit warm and opened the window to an inner courtyard , it was a little noisy ( I always travel with ear plugs and a mask so I was fine). All reception staff was very pleasant and accommodating. Alina checked us in and recommended several places ( Cafe de Chinitas for flamenco (great) and Chocolateria San Gines (must go). When leaving they called us a taxi that was able to pick us up in front. Madrid is a lively, beautiful city with amazing food (dinner is late) bring comfortable walking shoes. We would absolutely return to this Hostal but would try to have a room with a view ( the plaza is beautiful).

Worse 3 nights rest ever!
This hotel actually had good reviews when we did research the checked it out. After arrival we noticed hair all over the floor from the previous stay but overall the room was clean and appeared to be a good deal. The second you lay on the bed the pillows are hard as rocks and you are only given two. The Matress was also hard as a rock so may as well been sleeping in the floor Instead of the bed. About 5-6 am the morning the noise begins which is constant till the end of the afternoon basically. We were given the room right next to the front desk which has got to be the loudest most ignorant location for a room of any hotel in Madrid. I would not recommend this property to anyone who appreciates a good nights stay. If you need a water bottle the front desk will offer your only one for two people but after asking a second time they will give two with an attitude as if you have asked for gold. Get this property up to sleep and close the room next to the front desk and maybe you will have a small chance. On a good note the view was decent but I’ve seen better in Madrid.

The hospitality was amazing !! you cannot beat the view of the palace and location. I would stay here again. Accommodations were extremely clean. Loved this place. My only complaint was the mattress was extremely firm and I’m did not find it comfortable.

We’ve stayed in 3 different hotels in Madrid and so far this is our favorite! The location is amazing and the staff is very friendly. The room was super clean and the decor is simple but pretty. We had a room with a view of the palace. The view was partially blocked by trees but it was still really nice to open up the windows and see the plaza. I would definitely stay here again.

Parking is just in the public parking garage. The place is a bit hard to find, as its not well marked, and you have to go inside a deeper building. But the rooms were nice and comfortable.

Everything was fantastic! We did have a car and the underground parking entrance is steps away from the front door. Parking was incredibly expensive which had nothing to do with the hotel.

This place is right where you want to be if you are going to see everything Madrid has to offer. It's within walking distance of everything. The staff is so friendly and helpful, you can check in early if your room is ready, if not they'll hold your bags while you go explore Madrid. The bed wasn't super comfortable, but there's air conditioning and a nice shower in a private bathroom. I will definitely be coming back here!

Excellent location, close to the Metro and within easy walking distance to all off the sights. Would recommend Palace View room as inner courtyard room was very dark and there is an extractor duct from the restaurant below which starts at 7am and runs throughout the day. Reception staff very welcoming and friendly. Would definitely stay here again if we returned to Madrid and would recommend it to friends and family

To get to hotel, go in the big double doors to the left of cafe Oriente, There are a couple of steps on the right just in front of the glass partition. Pull the heavy door open and maneuver on your luggage thru it. There will be a lift on your right. Go up one floor. Hotel entry is the door in the corner on your left

Very nice bed and breakfast accommodation opposite the Grand Palace. A little difficult to find but well worth the search. It is situated within an apartment block with the rooms being on Levels 4 and 5. Reception is on Level 1. Lovely building. We had room 502 which was rather grand. We had a lounge with TV and fridge; large bedroom with dressing area and a large bathroom. We also had stairs leading onto a roof terrace with seating. Breakfast is taken in the Cafe Oriente next door. There is a small menu specifically for Central Palace guests - ask for it. Not extensive but OK. A few restaurants nearby. Close to Opera subway Lines 2 and 5. Perfect for a short break in Madrid.
