Lovely little hotel, smaller than I expected it to be. The lobby area is tiny but adequate for me to check in ok.
All staff acknowledged you & were very friendly.
The room was clean & well presented. The view from the window was nothing to look at. I had a view of offices & people working in them. There were also clothes hung up in the small area from the window view.
The breakfast was adequate. The room is quite small & I think you may have to wait for some time to get a table, when the hotel is full.
I would definitely stay here again. It is in a great location & I loved it

We stayed 3/1-3/26 there is no way to cool the room and no fan. The room although nice was hot and stuffy to sleep. Windows open but it is way to noisy all night long, garbage trucks, horns blaring, laughing and hollering non stop. Hotel is on a very busy street centrally located. Next time i would bring a bedside travel fan. Breakfast was good.

Room and hotel overall was very clean. Amenities were great, including breakfast in the morning. Staff was super friendly and accommodating, even extending our stay in our already assigned room when weather ruined our plans to leave Madrid. Room was very clean, plenty of space, super bathroom & shower. The coatstand was a game changer as there never seem to be enough hooks in hotel rooms. Nice to have an ice bucket with ice provided when requested. Breakfast was adequate - fairly basic. We asked for extra Nespresso pods for the room on a couple of occasions & were told it wasn't possible! The allocation is one each per day. The staff were really friendly & helpful & the location was just brilliant.

Everything was excellent. Special recognition to Maria for her superb service in providing A+ recommendations for restaurants and sight seeing opportunities. Her style was just perfect. Also, Kathleen for her excellent presentation as well. The housekeeping staff did an excellent service in maintaining the room as well. We definitely would come back to this hotel. The location was ideal.

The pros: Staff was very helpful - top notch. They were able to accommodate an early check in without issue. Offered great recommendations for dinner. The daily breakfast was fresh and delicious, served in a beautiful room. The hotel location was excellent and central to all the sights.

The cons: The trash bin in the bathroom still had discarded hygiene products in it when we checked in. The staff was still in the hall so they were able to attend to it right away but super gross nonetheless. The bathroom door is made of glass with golden designs throughout so you can't totally see in but if you prefer privacy when you use the bathroom, you will have to adjust expectations. Finally, the air conditioning was off when we arrived (mid-November) but the heat was on. There was no way to cool the room down - we asked. This made for uncomfortable sleeps.

Good enough value for the location.

Great location - close to everything! Felt safe! Room was cozy and the bathroom was nice.

The photos on the listing showed that the room would have a view but unfortunately the room I was given had no views and was just cement and no natural light came in... so for that, the room felt overpriced.

The staff at time of check in felt like he didn't know what he was doing... But the staff the following day was excellent - she was very friendly and helpful with recommendations.

Perfect for our long weekend in Madrid

Check in was very easy and the location is awesome- lots of restaurants and bars nearby. Very close to a couple different metro lines. Staff was very helpful. Complimentary breakfast was great (espresso machine, lots of options for breads, proteins, juices, etc). The room was clean and had the bed was comfy. Shower had plenty of hot water and they even gave you slippers to use while you're in the room

This one is a little gem!

A 45 room boutique hotel in the best possible place in Madrid for easy walking to everywhere - it was simply perfect in every respect. We requested a room with a terrace so we could enjoy outdoors as well - stayed a week. It’s on a walking boulevard and lively as anything but the hotel rooms are modern and it is quiet as a pin at night.

Very friendly front desk staff, clean room, excellent water pressure in the shower. My bed was very firm, so not what I'd call super comfy, but it was fine. Excellent location for walking to everywhere, hopping on the metro and grabbing a taxi. Standard rooms are small, with no dresser and no full length closet, so keep that in mind if you have \"fancy\" clothes and/or have 2 people who need a lot of space to get ready.

The room is very small but it was renovated and still very nice. When we arrived, the bed had only one bed sheet and I could not sleep. The next day I asked them for 3 blankets thinking they only had bed sheets, but they actually had real blankets so they gave me 2 and it was amazing. Made my sleep extra comfy and I am so happy they were able to accommodate that since I'm always cold. The continental breakfast was also the best I've seen so far. They had a lot of options and everything was so good. I loved staying there, the room was just so small, there was no place to open our luggage unfortunately.

Had a wonderful experience at The First One Hotel while in Madrid. It’s right in the middle of the city(Centro) close to many of the famous landmarks. Gran Via, The Palacio Real, Prado Museum, Plaza Mayor, The rooms were incredibly clean and comfortable. A very unique design to the room which maximed on space. Very cool, artistic wall paper. Plenty of room. Apparently, the hotel was designed by a famous Spanish architect artist. Breakfast was outstanding. A full breakfast bar. The front desk staff were fantastic. Julian and Maria and the gentleman’s whose name I’m forgetting were all very helpful and made my stay very memorable. Maria had some great restaraunt recommendations(Bosso Los Roblos) and helped me plan an excursion on the metro to Salamanca. Julian had a wealth of knowledge on the history of Madrid and neighboring cities. He also arranged for my taxi to the airport. The gentleman at night confirmed the details of my booking. All in all, I had a tremendous stay at this hotel and would highly recommend it. Can’t wait to go back!

The location was convenient. Black out curtains helped keep the room cool, dark, and quiet in a busy location. The air conditioner was great for a HOT summer in Madrid. They didn’t do a very good job in transforming two twin beds into a king which made the sleeping awkward. The shower and coffee machine were awesome. We could have benefitted from a small fridge and iron in our room. Beware. Blankets available upon request and with an amazing AC, you will probably need blankets.

Had booked Premium room; another couple who had booked Normal room was allotted a bigger room.

Very convenient location, small room but comfortable and nicely decorated. Bed was very nice and so was the shower. Breakfast was good but standard buffet offerings. Great location with many restaurants and walkable to main attractions. Our complaint is mainly the room coffee maker did not work (we had two rooms and both of them didn't work). We had an early departure and staff was helpful calling the taxi and they offered us a box breakfast which was very nice. Extremely small lobby and nowhere to sit outside the rooms, but with nice weather it was not critical.

This hotel was perfectly located for our activities. It is walkable to multiple Metro stations in a safe area with so many tasty restaurants.
The room was comfortable and clean. In case you are traveling with someone other than a family member, although there is a wall separating the main room from the bathroom, there was no door to provide privacy in the bathroom.
We had a great stay and would choose this property again!

Overall, the hotel is clean and modern, and has an excellent location, near Callao, Puerta del Sol, Plaza Mayor, Mercado San Miguel, and the Gran Via. You can walk to most things and are close to 3 metro stations. The staff was wonderful and immediately took care of every issue. But our room was tiny – just enough room for a king bed, a chair, small table, and two nightstands, no dressers. There’s a small closet, but the safe inside is at least 7 feet high, and we had no way of reaching it or seeing into it. There is an espresso maker, a hair dryer, and a large screen wall-mounted TV (which fortunately did get Netflix, Amazon, Apple, etc.), but not much else. There was no refrigerator, but when we asked, they brought one. So we had to keep an extra card key in the slot at all times in order to keep the power to the refrigerator on.The bathroom was functional but small, and had a glass door, which means that from the bedroom you can see and hear everything that goes on in the bathroom – no privacy. There is a hand shower and rain shower, but the hotel only provides shower gel and shampoo, no other bath amenities. The bathroom has no fan, and there is a motion-sensor light that you can’t turn off or adjust. It goes out while you’re sitting still on the toilet, and turns on any time you move, whether you want it on or not. The breakfast bar is nice – meats, cheeses, eggs, pastries, yogurt, fruit – but it can get extremely crowded, and you may need to wait to be seated.

Excellent location and property. Short walk from Puerta del sol large plaza and central hub for all of downtown Madrid. The entire city center is within easy walking distance. There are also two nearby subway stops for easy access. Safe, clean, cozy location.

Fantastic Stay in the Heart of Madrid!

We had a wonderful experience at this hotel — everything was clean, and the bed was incredibly comfortable. We slept so good! The location is unbeatable, right in the center of Madrid and within walking distance to all the major sights, shops, and restaurants, you can’t go wrong with this hotel location. The view from our room was great, which made the stay even more special. The only slight downside to the room we had was that there was some construction going on so late at night and early morning we could hear that going on. But nothing that was a deal breaker.

The staff were friendly and efficient, making check-in and any requests a breeze. While the air conditioning wasn’t working perfectly and the room didn’t get as cool as we would have liked, it was still manageable. It’s also worth noting that there was no fridge in the room, which would’ve been a nice addition.

Overall, we definitely recommend this hotel for anyone visiting Madrid. The comfort, location, and service more than make up for the minor drawbacks!
