Located right in the heart of Madrid on the main upscale shopping street. Very vibrant, lively and robust. Lots of cafes, bakeries, clubs, theaters, eatery choices for every occasion and price levels. Museums, live shows, boutique stores, department stores. On the weekends, it is so much crowded that sometimes one flows with the wave. City of Madrid for the tourist has a bus service FREE that stops to the major shopping areas, museums and the central train station in the city. The food (Tappas) is served freshly prepared at most of the restaurants, particularly the famous grilled Sardines and traditional irresistible pastries!

Hostal Besaya is great! I was very lucky to find this place. It is about as close to the metro as possible and convenient walking distance to downtown Madrid. Incredible convenience getting around. It is in a great area and feels very safe. The view is stunning.

The hotel is only one floor of the shown building in the picture. Entrance doesn’t look like a hotel. You enter an old building and take an old elevator to the 8th floor. Rooms are small. No wardrobe, fridge, microwave, or even a safe box in the room. In general old and small rooms only to take a shower and sleep. My view to outside was other windows and hotel towels being hung to dry. On the positive side, hotel staff are very nice and friendly. Both at the desk and house keepers. Also location is nice middle of everything.

The front desk gentleman, Martin, was extremely gracious and went out of his way to help us. We were there only one night, great location, and very little street noise. We were very pleased.

We stayed in a double room with private bathroom. I suggest you do this for every stay. The room was good and it had a small balcony with a nice view. The bathroom was small but that's something you should already know about all bathrooms in Europe's hostels. It was clean, though and the shower wasn't THAT small. They provide a large and medium towels, as well as a shower gel and bar soap. It seems to have A/C but we never had the remote in the room. To be honest, we didn't ask for it because we were hardly in the room and at night it felt warm and humod in the room but we opened the balcony and that helped. Of course it was loud feom having the door open so we had to close it eventually. Overall the stay was good and we were just there for 2 days.

This was a well located hotel, and the room was clean and had a beautiful view. We didn't realize that our room had a shower and sink but no bathroom - this would have been fine, but getting to the bathroom involved walking through the reception area, and on the last day we stayed they were repainting the hall so just to use the bathroom you had to walk around a workman on a ladder and over paint-stained tarp. The room was extremely small (difficult to walk around the bed to the window) and it's always a bit odd to shower in a shared room. I thought that for the price, the room could have been bigger and included an en suite bathroom or at least a nearer-by bathroom. But still, the location and view were lovely, and it seemed like the elevator was only for the hotel (which is on the 8th floor of a building), so we never had to wait for it. Staff was helpful.

Hotel staff is very friendly. The building is secure, it is an older building. We had a double room but it is very small for a double. Two peole can barely stand in it at the same time. It was also very hot in the room with no way to control heating or a/c. We opened the window but they don't have any screens. It's location is very good in the center close to everything, plazas, restaurants, bars and shopping.

I called the hostel
From the airport and the friendly staff gave me instructions how to get there using the metro .It was easy . The hostel is on the 8th floor of a traditional building in Madrid . There are 2 elevators. Our room and bathroom were very clean with a Nice view of Madrid and centrally located in la gran via. Lots of things to do from restaurants, shops , entertainment and tapas . You can literarily walk to all main attractions or take the tourist hop and off busses that pass by every 9 minutes. Excellent place for the price.

This was a late booking for myself as my son from USA had a late notification business trip to Madrid. We saw this as an opportunity to meet up.
The hotel that was booked by his company was full but even if it had spaces it was extremely expensive and would have made the trip less viable.
I tried to work out from the location somewhere I could stay not too far from his hotel. The only way I could do this was by Metro stations . Then it was based on reviews and price and I did not expect too much from the price I paid. I just needed somewhere close to lay my head at night.

Las dos habitaciones q nos ofrecieron a cambio tenían un baño realmente pequeño sin siquiera perchas para las toallas. Y aunq en la segunda q elegimos sí funcionaba el aire acondicionado… era muy antiguo y hacía un ruido tremendo q impedía dormir así q nos hemos pasado las noches poniéndolo y quitándolo a ratos

Situado en una de las mejores avenidas, el acceso es sencillo, la vista desde el lobby es espectacular, la habitación es sencilla pero muy angosto el acceso al baño sin puerta, en la fecha se escuchaba que estaban trabajando en construcción un piso arriba y se percibía olor a yeso. Muy cercano al Teatro Lope de Vega, que era lo que más valorábamos. Habitación no demasiado grande pero bastante cómoda (televisor, aire acondicionado y cama doble) y con muy buenas vistas. El único problema que encontramos fue que la habitación no disponía de baño propio, teniendo que acceder al común y resultando algo incómodo.
