The hotel neglected to respond to messages. The number listed on the site is out of service. Could not communicate that we would be late and needed special accommodations for late check in. Now I’m out here in the alley and can’t check in and get into the room I’ve paid for.

Very unique hotel. Loved the decor. Room was lovely but would have liked a wardrobe to put suitcases away. Bed was very comfortable but found it hard to sleep due to the noise from the road outside and the construction noise. Location was perfect only a short walk to gran via and Callao metro stop.

booked a twin room two month ago. when arrived was cramped into a queue. size bed with my mum. I mean I'm 40 years old dude taking my 70 years old mum for a trip. the schmuck at the reception said he cannot do anything, hotel over booked. YUO HAD THE WHOLE MONTH!!!!! not yesterday???
then I asked the schmuck to give me at least extra sheets .. he said sure I'll do it and bring it to my hotel room. came back from dinner and guess what?? no sheets and no schmuck, apparently finishes work at midnight.l. hopefully this my experience will scare away couple of souls of staying there

This property was very unique indeed! It is like stepping into the Casablanca movie. It's Ralph Lauren meets safari, meets Caribbean island. The rooms are cozy, and if you don't want noise, don't reserve anything in the front with views.

They even have room service that you'll want to eat in the fabulous lobby, because they have a bar and dining tables as well.

The bed was comfy, there was a bath tub in my room!

The customer service is excellent!

I would definitely come back!

The hotel lobby is unattractive and dingy. There was no railing for the entrance set of steps and the entrance with a ramp was closed and only accessible when leaving. The parking fee is extortionate and really tight with a small SUV. There is a cheaper parking on the left side before the hotel.

They have turned a 2 story building into a 3 story hotel by converting the parking to the hotel lobby not in a professional way. The worst part was the ceiling of the lobby which was poorly covered by canopies. That aside, I can not rate customer service because there is NO customer service! When calling the front desk, there is no one to answer, I had to go down to lobby to find some one, and there was no body of the hotel staff there!

Gran Via Life very Boutique

We were welcomed warmly and passed over to another member of their team to check-in. Reception was in a room above the bar, lounge, meeting area but hardly enough room for one guest and the team member. I was offered one key and had to ask for another which was a bit strange because normally you are asked if you want two keys.
The downstairs lobby, bar, lounge and the outer rooms was a clutter of sofas, couches, arm chairs, low tables, flamingos, palm trees, reflection pond and so much stuff hanging from the ceiling such as dried grass or drapes that offered no real purpose. It was as if the word boutique was exaggerated.
The room was on the second floor via a slope downstairs and around the next corner also with drapes on the inside for no reason at all. The room was cozy and also had drapes hanging from a wire above the beds and completely in the way.
Air conditioning was seasonal we later found out so had to sleep with the door open to get some draft in there. Very uncomfortable. We had to ask for an additional hand towel and we told that we had to ask the following morning.
The staircase was sort of half carpeted but there were no rods to keep the carpet safe and in place. I think health and safety must differ from the UK because anyone not paying attention could trip and fall.
We didn't take breakfast but it looked ok and was served to you.
The entry after 12.00 is via a locked middle door via your key card and it isn't that easy to find.
It was functional though.

We have stayed at Hotel Life before so thought we knew what to expect. The hotel check in was difficult because it was to be done remotely. The emails were in Spanish and I contacted the hotel to ask them to send me the information in English. They sent it again in Spanish.

The hotel was cold and the heating wasn't working properly. We had to dress up warm to go to bed!

The hotel is now very tired and needs refurbishing.

I was supposed to have stayed at Gran Vía and after waiting for a code past 16:30 I had to find a number to get someone to explain. I had to make a few calls to get an answer to be told to go to another sister hotel. The service was excellent! However the room smell was strong of cigarette and the AC did not cool down the room.

It was right in the centre easy to walk to the major squares: plaza major, gran via, calle callao, porta del sol, plaza espana.
Maybe more breakfast, hot food in the service.
The room was clean and tidy everyday. I definetly will recommed it.

The room was spacious and in a great location, we were able to walk everywhere we needed to go. Would definitely recommend this place to other travellers

Good affordable choice!

Overall a lovely stay, this hotel is owned by a larger hotel around the block where all of the check-in/out and concierge services are located. The room was clean, quite, and featured a nice little balcony overlooking the street which you could stand on. The hotel also offered free \"breakfast\" (pre-wrapped croisants and juice/coffee downstairs) which was very nice. Hotel Life is in a great neighborhood very close to shopping, bars, restaurants, and a short walk from many sightseeing sights.

The shower was odd which as it had no curtain/door which made for a bit off a mess which we felt bad about.

Other than that we really enjoyed our stay at hotel Life.

Hotel incorrectly advertises that it has Air conditioning. It does not. Hotel manager who is never actually on premesis determines the room temperature for all rooms on each floor. I learned this after receiving several lies by the offsite reception when they were telling me that it was snowing in Madrid the day before and so they turned off the AC - it was not snowing previously. Mattresses are thin and uncomfortable and towels have a musty smell. Don’t be fooled by “cute” decor - the place is not very nice - especially for the 100 Eur/night price.

This is really nice compact hotel. Very clean, beautifully decorated and close to all attractions. Unlike other hotels I have been, this is spacious and there are some communal facilities. We were also given complimentary mini breakfast which was a good surprise. I would highly recommend this hotel and will definitely stay here on my next visit.

Room was too small, bed angled so we couldn't get around it easily. Had to get keys at another location, not at all convenient. Breakfast was not good at all, a plastic enclosed croissant and a juice box. Shower was horrible. The shower head kept falling off just missing my head. The whole bathroom was very small with no place to hand robes ... Place was clean enough, but location was very noisy at night. You could hear people talking and the garbage trucks at 2:00 in the morning was a treat.

This hotel is very simple and basic but for the price good value. Do be aware though that the nature of the conversion means you will NOT get a quiet night if that is what you are looking for. You can hear people talking in rooms next door and every door or lock movement on your floor. Nicely looked after though and friendly staff.

Very nice few days in the centre of Madrid, near most of the major Metro lines. Google Maps had the wrong road address so we got a little lost coming off the metro and it took 3 taxi drivers to tell me which street it was on.

DIFFERENT!

This hotel is very close to the Gran Via and walking distance to Sol, Chueca, La Latina, and many other areas of madrid.
It has no manned reception, having to check in and out at a nearby hotel, but that doesn't bother us.
There is a buzzing nightlife in the little streets around the hotel and.
The room we had was on the small side but spotlessly clean and very well decorated, and the bed really comfy!
There are no bar or restaurant, but in a city like madrid it's not needed, enjoy chocolate con churros for breakfast in sol, lunch tapas with a few beers in any bar you see, be adventurous and walk onto any bar you see! And have dinner at any restaurant in town center!

Hotel is very much over priced, for check and check out you need to go down the street with all your bags and then bring them up as well..... Breakfast was paid but for my surprise its was not a buffet one and a worst break fast i have ever had in my whole traveling ..... I would never recommend to stay over here.

The hotel was ok. The staff was awesome (Daniel & Damon?)It was close to the Gran Via and Plaza Sol and in the area we needed to be. It's next to a hostel, but it was still quiet. The breakfast was simple but good. There is parking close by, but no need for a car as hotel is a close walk to eateries or bars plus the metro is a short walk. The decor of black and white was so-so because the hallways are black and not well lit. Room was clean but a little tight. The lobby closes at 8:00pm and you will need a passcode to enter. All in all, good choice for the cost.

A friendly and comfortable hotel.

Hotel is located in a small street 5 min walk from Gran Via and metro Noviciades. It is a converted residential building and has a distinct personality. Good value for a few days visit to Madrid.
The staff have some English and are very helpful and welcoming.
Rooms have comfortable beds and good bathroom with small tub. Plenty of hot water.
No ornamentation and somber colours. Small safe, good free wifi.
Breakfast of toast, cake, juice, coffee, for E 4 (no fruit or eggs).
Street has little traffic but many chatty pedestrians until 3 am.
Plenty of places to eat nearby.

Great location for tourist on a short trip

The best part of this hotel is it's location. Near to the metro, Royal Palace, & the Gran Via. My only problem was the fact that my bed sheets were not changed during the 7 days and 6 nights that I was there, the TV only has 1 channel, and there is a 24-hr parking lot next to the hotel which makes for things to get very noisey late at night. I really liked the fact that I could walk to the museums and monuments I had on my itinerary as this saves a lot of money. I did not get the breakfast experience, but after the price I was paying to buy my own, maybe it wasn't such a good idea not to get the breakfast. I also wished they would had charged for my hotel reservation online and not while I was there, as the currency change was more than I thought it would be. The front desk staff was very friendly and always greeted you upon arrival.

Fabulous stay in a really lovely part of Madrid

The hotel is located in a really fun and funky part of Madrid, a quick walk to Sol and the centre but near quirky cafes and alternative bars and restaurants. The rooms were really nice, clean and simple. The staff was really the best thing - amazing, friendly and really helpful. We received football tickets for Real Madrid from a company that they had kept for us as they arrived before we did. They met us with the room keys and Internet WiFi password and the tickets despite us arriving very late - almost at midnight and also helped us on the day before we flew out with some paper work ...really sweet!

Is it a Hotel or Hostel ?

This hotel has a feel of still being built. It next door to a hostel with the same name, which makes me feel it is a hostel with a hotel section. The walls are paper thin, to this you can hear the person in the room next to you snoring. The front desk isn’t staffed in the evenings or early mornings, so you are given a door code, and as for early morning checkout … well I just left the door key on the table, hoping the receptionist in the morning will find it with the note saying “I’ve gone, bye bye room 205”. The hotel feels like its in the back street of a dodgy area, so if you’re the type that worries about safety, you wouldn’t like it here. One good thing about the hotel was the free wifi, and its super fast.

Me ha encantado es como un pequeño oasis en el centro de Madrid.
Los puntitos negativos son que las camas aunque cómodas hacían ruido, y que aunque tuviésemos una cortina, entraba la luz.
Aún así yo volveré a este hotel.

The location is good, and the styling of the hotel is a matter of taste. However, the quality of the room and its amenities is simply poor. The soundproofing is non-existent, and in both our first and second room there was no way to hang towels. Additionally, in our first so-called VIP room, the toilet was not fixed to the floor, and a ventilation vent started blowing air loudly for an hour during the night.

Hôtel original dans un ancien garage reconverti en \"eco lodge\" colonial.
Les trentenaires bobos ecolos vont adorer, malgré la machine ( extracteur d'air) qui tourne toute la nuit dans le patio où sont situées les chambres bungalow du rdv. La deco est sympa mais l'insonorisation quasi inexistante..
Gros point positif quand même pour la situation très centrale et le parking sous l'hôtel (32,50€ par nuit..) à savoir, les chambres en etage ( pas visitées) sont peu etre plus calmes...

Mi marido, mi hija de 8 años y yo. La recepción es horrible, teníamos parking reservado y cuando nos abrieron el parking estaba todo ocupado. Nos recibió una \"persona\" que no sabíamos si era mujer/hombre/nosabe/no contesta, y con la niña no nos gustó nada. El barrio de lo peor, lleno de maleantes, chinos, y lo peor.. y la limpieza no había directamente! todo lleno de telas y alfombras que tenían polvo a más no poder. Las sillas con polvo, las paredes, todo sucio, oscuro y nada nada recomendable. Fuimos solo para una noche, y menos mal, porque estaba lleno de ácaros por todos los sitios, la suciedad se amontonaba en los rincones, era horrible. Quiere dar el aspecto de antiguo y demás, pero esta sucio de narices. da asco, y con niños 0 recomendable.

Struttura molto carina e particolare, camere spaziose e dotate di tutti i comfort. C’è stato un piccolo problema al checkin ma prontamente risolto. Consigliato anche per l’ottima posizione vicina al centro e alla metro.

Muy bonito, pero....

El hotel es una preciosidad, un edificio completamente adaptado a hotel, conservando la esencia del edificio y con una decoracion que lo hace encantador, pero cuando te alojas te das cuenta de que está hecho solo para parecerlo. Las habitaciones son muy ruidosas (y la gente que no es respetuosa). Si en la habitacion de al lado se duchan a las 2 de la mañana, pues es como si estuvieran en tu habitacion. La television no funcionaba, el calentador de agua de cortesia estaba roto. El baño era bastante siniestro, con olor a humedad, la ducha estaba rota. Todo con apariencia de nuevo pero muy descuidado y si te fijas, antiguo. Se acabó el papel higienico y no habia mas.... para una estancia de una noche lo dejas correr pero para más tiempo, no. Creo que por casi 200€ que pague la noche, no merece la pena. Viajo mucho y creo que la calidad precio, desde luego no lo vale, no volveria a alojarme en este hotel. No soy de poner quejas ni reseñas, pero en este caso tengo que hacerlo, lo siento.

Un hotel muy agradable, con un punto original en cuanto decoración. Mi habitación muy cómoda y el personal muy agradable. Y por supuesto su ubicación es un plus, en Malasaña y a cinco minutos andando de la Gran Vía y toda su oferta comercial y de ocio.
