The apartment was fine, 2 bedrooms + sofa bed.
A very small and crowded shower, a kitchenette and utensils that were not clean at all and to use we had to clean them thoroughly.
Good location, good Wi-Fi and good personal service.
In terms of cleaning the apartment - the towels and the trash bag were changed, but no cleaning was done beyond that.

Good location

This is our second time in this hostel.the location is very good near Gran Via.the owners speak english and are friendly .the negative thing is that there is no elivator and we had to climb the stairs with all our luggages.another thing is that I booked a double bedroom with one extra bed for my daughter.and another room with 2 single beds.infact I had to stay in a room with 3 single beds.and the other 2 had to sleep in a double bed instead of 2 single beds.when I told them about the rooms,at check in they said that there was not enough space in the room to make a single bed with the double bed. Didn't complain because we spent only 2 nights.
A possitive thing is that they have a kitchen that it is very useful and tea and coffee facilities..

Perfect!!

Perfect location in the heart of madrid. Close to all the main attractions. 5 minutes walk to Santo Domingo and plaza de espana metro station. Hotel was clean with good size rooms and bathroom. Also very nice respontionist. Would recommend for anyone.

This Hostel was in a good location with east access to the shops, local eateries and Metro. We had a big room on the front and expected it to be noisy from the street below but it was dead quiet. There was plenty of tea and coffee available in the foyer. Would come again

Good budget hotel.

It is a good budget hotel. Nice and quite location but a one person front desk who is not available at night and who speaks very little English but will manage to convey his message :). OK wifi connection. Room with AC which works fine. You can't user the computer in the lobby at night.

The directions to get there were a bit off, but everything after that was great. Nice sized room, very very clean, excellent storage in the room, helpful staff, good location. No lift, but they helped carry the bags up. Good security both day and night. Fridge in room was an extra plus. We had no view from our room - just an air space between 4 walls, but the air conditioning worked well and we just slept there. Good place for a good price.

Madrid Pride Stay

My husband and I stayed at Pizarro for two nights during Madrid Pride. The location is great, just a short walk to Chueca and the bars and festivities. The room was a decent size, with a private bathroom. Everything was clean, the AC worked well, and it was nice there was a safe in the closet for passports, etc. Shower is a bit tight, but water temp and pressure were great. Check in and out were easy, and the staff incredibly friendly. Be aware that reception has limited hours and you cannot get inside without a key if they are closed on arrival, so plan your arrival around their hours.

Note there is no soundproofing between the rooms, so some people may need earplugs. The air conditioning worked great and the beds were comfortable enough. An iPad screen is the same size as the TV, so we never used it. Bathroom is compact but functional. There was a safe, a mini fridge (ours didn't work), and decent Wi-Fi in the room. Our room was cleaned daily and fresh towels given. There is a public area where you are able to use a computer, look at books and a larger flat screen TV. Multiple convenience stores and restaurants are all nearby.

The hostal itself is great. The problem is the tapas place across the street. Very loud throughout the night especially on the weekend. Screaming, yelling people walking on the street too. I wouldn't stay here again because of that.

Hostal Pizarro Review

We arrived at about 9:40pm and the hostel was locked up (the exterior entrance gate was locked) and we had no idea how to call the reception on the intercom. We were standing outside for about 10 minutes before finally dialling a random number on the intercom and successfully paging the reception desk. There was no information about how to call in on our booking or in our literature.

The room itself was nice and the bed was comfortable - nothing spectacular, perfect for our needs. Wifi was reliable.

The noise level was enough to wake myself and my partner out of a deep sleep. There were people constantly entering and exiting through our hallway, and people in noisy shoes walking up and down stairs above our head for a big part of the night and early in the morning.

At one point we did not have hot water in our bathroom, but after checking with the main desk they said it would be back up in about 15 minutes and it was.

The neighbourhood was a little unsettling after sunset, but we were never bothered by any of the people in the neighbourhood.

Overall we had a pleasant stay, but the noise was a concern to us and caused us to have light sleeps during our stay.

For the price we paid at just over £40 in the centre of Madrid you cannot go wrong.
The rooms were clean, bed was very comfortable , private bathroom , free safe and air con. Friendly reception staff.
Great location for using the metro, Carrefour around the corner for basics. Would we use again most certainly for the price!

Great and close to the city center

I really enjoyed my stay at the Hostal the staff was really nice even though I'm not fluent in Spanish and the room was clean and had a safe which made me feel better about leaving my passport and jewelry in the room. Would recommend and also stay there again. Great value for money and just off the main area in Madrid.

The hostel is just the 1st floor (stairs from ground floor). Office is only open 9-9pm. It was clean. Free tea and free wifi. No air conditioning. Quiet neighbourhood. Very close to Grand Via. We walked out to the tour bus everyday. Many restaurants and shops in the area. The best place we went to was Lamucca restaurant - great food - and enjoyed sitting outside to enjoy the evenings. Very good price for the location.

It was a great stay. The hotel stay was very polite, but spoke minimal English. I don't speak Spanish, but we got by. The room was very clean and the free wifi connection was great. No complaints, I would suggest to anyone staying in Madrid on a budget.

My Madrid family

I was pleasantly surprised at this little gem! The staff was always present and so helpful. They made recommendations for restaurants, helped with reservations for shows, and took a sincere interest in me and my son, a student in Madrid. Nothing would have made the stay more enjoyable. I feel like they became extended family and future trips to Madrid would not be complete without returning to hostal pizzaro! Hasta luego, amigos queridos!

My wife and I stayed here 3 nights while visiting Madrid on business. Very friendly staff, clean and comfortable rooms and an overall great place to be. We had some issues with travel documents that they helped print out for us, at no additional charge and did so with a smile. We will stay here again next time we're in town.

Lovely old building, but rundown, you need to carry your luggage up the stairs. Staffed during the day only; our flight was early and we couldn't check out properly, had to leave the keys in our door. No hotel on-site parking; there is a parking garage 2 doors down, 18 E for 24 hours; opens at 7 AM. Rooms BASIC, but very clean. 2 twin beds in our room, very small beds! Small fridge that did not seem to be working. Communal area very cramped.

Great gay-friendly hostel!

Great! Friendly and helpful staff. In room: air con, safe, en-suite shower, with hairdrier, plenty of lights, fresh towels each day, quiet room. Reception had plenty of cutlery and cups, teas and sugars, and microwave, 2 PCs and free-wifi in hotel. Noviciado metro station was very close, as were shops and central Madrid. Definitely go back again! :)

on arrival i thought it was not open,the frontage totally covered in green mess,no front desk downstairs,had to walk up a flight of stairs and press a bell to see and hope someone was there,
the whole place was under reconstrution AND SHOULD NOT HAVE BEEN OPEN TO THE PUBLIC AT ALL.
I SUGGEST YOU SEND ONE OF UR REPRESENTIVES IN A HURRY TO SEE FOR YOUR SELFS,

Hostal Gay Pizarro

I have no complaints about the hostel, the only thing is there are no windows in the room. But it is very clean, we got fresh towels every day. It´s close enough to the metrostation, you can even walk to the centre within 10 min. If you are looking for a nice ´hostel atmosfere´ this is probably not the place. It´s quiet. Nothing wrong with that.

The Hostal Pizarro is a great find in overpriced Madrid. The owners are exceptionally friendly people, and will go out of their way to help you plan your sight-seeing time in Madrid, and have fixed up the hostal so that it's modern and very comfortable. Each room has a bathroom, and a mini-fridge so that you can save money on eating some meals out. There is a common room with a tv and a public computer, as well as wifi throughout (for free, rare in European hotels, which more often charge upwards of 10 euros per day for wifi). The only downside to the rooms is that in the heat of the summer, there is no AC. Some days the ceiling fan was enough to sleep perfectly comfortably, but on particularly hot days, it was too much. During any other time, this place is defectless!

Hostal très bien placé dans le centre de Madrid, proche de tout. Aucun problème à signaler, tout était conforme à la description. Si je devais donner un conseil aux futurs clients, peut être j'aviserais de prévoir des bouchons pour les oreilles pour la nuit. Il ne s'agit pas du tout de bruit de la rue ou d'autres clients, mais simplement de la présence du parquet dans l'immeuble, qui laisse entendre les pas de ceux qui se trouvent à l'étage supérieure. Moi, qui ai un sommeil léger, j'ai très bien dormi avec des bouchons. Pour le reste, très propre, avec serviettes changés tous le jours, et un belle salle de bain fraîchement rénovée. Pour le petit déjeuner, bar sympathique en face, ou au choix petit coin cuisine avec micro-ondes dans les parties communes. Je séjournerai volontiers à nouveau ici, si l'occasion se présente.

Al entrar había pelusas enormes en la habitación, el WC tenía restos, estuve en la número seis, habitación sin personalidad ninguna, mesa, silla de plástico y cabeceros de IKEA, la cerradura del baño rota, la estantería de las toallas descolgada, la rejilla de ventilación del baño sucia, no hay ventilación forzada en un baño minúsculo, el frigorífico en el suelo directamente, no hay sitio para poner la maleta. Habían quitado el servicio de limpieza por el Covid 19 que es cuando más higiene había que tener, el mundo al revés, no había papelera en la habitación y en la mesa no puedes poner el ordenador porque la ocupa la televisión, los canales de esta, están bloqueados y solo se puede ver los que han seleccionado ellos protegidos con clave, si busca un hostal de tres estrellas, este no lo es. Tengo fotos de lo que digo pero el sistema no me permite colgarlas.

J'ai surtout apprécié sa localisation, près de la Gran Via. J'ai moins aimé l'attitude du personnel, qu'on a plutôt l'air de déranger. Le hall d'entrée de l'hôtel est aussi accueillant que celui d'une prison médiévale.

dDcht dat t hotel was, maar eigenlijk serie kamers in oud pand. Alles heel proper en goede kamerverzorging. Maar leek ook een beetje op een klooster. Geen receptie, geen bar, niks.
Maar vlak bij Oud Madrid en prima uitvalsbasis als je de hele dag door Madrid sjouwt.

Las condiciones de recepción no estan claras. El horario de recepción no se cumple, ni estan a las 8 am ni se quedan hasta las 22 h, con lo que hay riesgo de dejar el equipaje en recepción y quedarse sin poder retirarlo para cintinuar viaje.

Great and helpful staff.
I arrived late and night outside the receptions opening hours(08.00-22.00). They arranged for key pick-up in a locked safetybox outside hotel and send me a thourough description on how to access the key box and the hotel.
Further they assisted me on getting the delivery of some bull fight tickets I ordered from a 3. party online. They handed the tickets over when I made the official check-in next morning.
Hotel room is small, but clean. You have a small aircon bedroom and a private bathroom and a fridge on the room. Great location. Great value for money.

Relativ zentrale Lage in einigermaßen ruhiger Gasse. Schönes hohes, wenngleich kleines Zimmer. Leider sind die Zimmerwände sehr dünn und die anderen Gäste waren recht temperamentvoll. Ohne Ohrenstöpsel wäre ich verloren gewesen. Das Personal spricht miserabel Englisch. Eine ulkige Idee war, stets den Fernseher im Flur/Aufenthaltsraum einzuschalten und das doch eher erwachsene Publikum mit aktueller Schlagermusik zu beschallen. Der Computer wurde je nach Lust und Laune zur Benutzung freigegeben ... oder auch nicht. Das Mobiliar eher von der billigen und abgenutzen Sorte. Das Highlight jedoch war, dass es an 5 von 7 Tagen im Bad nach Abwasser und Gulli stank.

O hostel é muito bem localizado em Madri. Fica perto de excelentes restaurantes e muito próximo a todos os pontos turísticos. Não foi necessário utilizarmos transporte público. Porém, o quarto tinha cheiro de cigarro muito forte e a ducha estava com o suporte quebrado, obrigando-nos a segurar a ducha para tomar banho.

Gran viaに近くてとても便利です。住所は14番地では無い。向かいにフロントがあり、ここで鍵を渡された。

入り口にICカードを当てるとビルの入り口、ホテルのドアが開けられる。ホテルドアの設計が悪く何回かカードを当ててからドアノブを回し開ける時、ドアに指を挟んで痛かった。

Hola. No me parecio bien que no avisaran previamente que no hay ascensor, aunque lo estaban instalando cuando me iba. El hecho de que la administracion cierre a las 20, y no quede nadie a quien acudir de ser esto necesario, hasta las 8 de la mañana, tampoco me parecio adecuado. Por lo demas, muy amables los que atienden, bien ubicado, en un barrio muy lindo, cerca de la Gran Via y lugares turisticos de interes.

Ho soggiornato con la mia famiglia per due giorni a ferragosto spendendo in tutto circa 150 euro.Camere silenziose e pulite cosi come i bagni, letti comodi .Presenza di TV cassaforte e frigo in camera.Garage a fianco all'hotel a 24 euro al giorno.Posizione ottima in una stretta via poco trafficata a due passi dalla gran via.Stanza da pranzo a con stoviglie e microonde a disposizione.Alla reception gentilezza e disponibilità.

El hostal es normal, nada en especial pero es confuso ya que la recepción está en la acera de enfrente (no en el hostel) y hay que llamar por telefono para que alguien venga a recibirte, pesima actitud del recepcionista por cierto.

En general la estancia estuvo bien, el edificio donde se encuentra el hostal estaba en obras instalando ascensor y no había aire acondicionado. La atención buena y la habitación limpia y cómoda. Ubicación muy buena.

Ostello buono, con bagno privato in camera. Se arrivi la sera, telefonare per avere indicazioni di come entrare. Se ti muovi con metro serve la Tessera Multi (Tarjeta Multi) color rosso, del costo di 2,5 euro, che viene distribuita da macchinette automatiche all'ingresso della Metro, e nella quale va caricato il credito per le corse; si possono caricare corse per più persone (noi avevano una tessera per 4). Attenzione dove c'è molta folla, possono esserci borseggiatori!

どこへ行くにも便利。

セゴビヤ、トレドに一日観光に出かけたり、空港への行き来がとても便利。また食事や買い物も徒歩でいけます。その割にまわりは静かでぐっすり寝れました。贅沢な観光旅行に慣れている人には不向きでしょうが、スペインの文化に直接触れたい人や、グループツアーに飽き飽きした人には打ってつけの宿です。スタッフも親切でフラメンコのお店を探す手助けもしてくれて、破格値で予約がとれ、楽しむことができました。また利用したいです。

Posizione centralissima, consigliato!

L’hotel è in una posizione davvero strategica , 10 min a piedi dalla Gran Via e ben collegato a tutte le attrazioni principali sia che si preferisca passeggiare sia prendendo la metro. Comodissimo anche per l’arrivo dall’aeroporto . Le camere sono semplici ma ben riscaldate e il bagno ha tutto ciò che serve. Per sua natura l’hotel non ha un vero e proprio servizio per gli ospiti, credo sia più adatto a chi vuole semplicemente una camera comoda con posizione centrale. Il personale è comunque gentile e presente fino a circa le ore 20. Ti lasciano le chiavi della camera e sei completamente indipendente dalla loro presenza. Unica nota negativa: benché la camera ci sia stata consegnata pulita e ordinata, nei 4 giorni successivi è stata pulita non tutti i giorni e non molto bene. Nel complesso assolutamente consigliato.

Perushotelli varjoisalla kujalla. Ei mitään luksusta, mutta sijainti käytännössä täydellinen: kahden metrolinjan ja satojen ravintoloiden keskellä, lyhyen kävelymatkan päässä kaupungin ydinkeskustaa.

Tutta una serie di situazioni nate dalla mancanza di personale della struttura dopo le 22 e da un errore da parte mia nella comunicazione dell'arrivo in ritardo che hanno prodotto una prima nottata completamente in bianco.
Le camere sono appena dignitose, il quartiere anche se centrale è abbastanza squallido. Il personale, nonostante la disavventura, si è prodigato per ovviare al disagio ed è stato molto disponibile.

Gute Lage nahe der Gran Via

Zimmer war angemessen groß. Zimmer war sauber, Handtücher werden automatisch jeden Tag gewechselt. Allerdings wurde wohl nie in die Dusche geschaut und gereinigt, dort sammelten sich die leeren Duschgel und Shampoo Päckchen.
Wasser zum Duschen war tageweise grenzwertig von der Temperatur und ließ sich auch nicht wärmer stellen.
Was mich sehr enttäuscht hat, dass wir gebeten haben uns ein Taxi für unseren Flug zeitig in der Früh zu reservieren. Mit Englisch war keine Kommunikation möglich. Der Herr an der Rezeption ließ mich dann in den Google Übersetzer eingeben, las die Information und meinte, wir sollen später nochmal fragen. Was bei einer nicht rund um die Uhr besetzten Rezeption schwierig ist.
Lage des Hostels durchaus zu empfehlen: Haupteinkaufsstraße Gran Via ganz nahe, U Bahn Stationen in der Nähe, etliche Sehenswürdigkeiten auch gut zu Fuß erreichbar. Div. Lokale und kleiner Supermarkt in unmittelbarer Umgebung.

Reservé una habitación doble con dos camas individuales con 2 semanas de antelación, y cuando llegamos nos dijeron que sólo les quedaba una habitación cama de matrimonio, y que si no nos gustaba que nos buscásemos una habitación en otro sitio.

Muy lamentable.
