It is a very nice property but very outdated, they should refurnished it as it is an excellent located hotel. Bathroom has been remodeled though.
I booked a suite because it has the breakfast included, when time came, they said that it was not, that maybe Expedia lie to me.

Very nice aparthotel on Gran Via - close to all tourist attractions, public transportation. Friendly staff.
Could use some updating in the kitchenette area (coffee maker would be nice). The beds were on wheels and were moving.
All in all a nice aparthotel, would recommend it.

First room we got the bathroom was a disaster. Second room we got in the 9th floor was very nice and the bathroom was perfect. No matter what you will need to carry your luggage through some stairs. Location was perfect!

The hotel has AC only in rooms, no AC in hallways or bathrooms. The rooms were clean but they seem to have some ants in the room. They had carpet and could be updated to show more cleanness. The staff was slow to solve issues but they did get it done. The location was great. The beds and pillows were comfortable and the bathroom were updated and big.

The hotel is ideally placed along Gran Via with several public transport options close by to help us get tio anywhere in Madrid or outside. The gran Via itself is a happening place with lots of Theatre, shopping, restaurants around and is buzzing all the time.

The Hotel is well maintained and the staff are friendly. The room comes with a kitchen and utensils for our needs. The only drawback is the breakfast-which is quite limited in its choices and doesn't offer much beyond the croissants and fruits.

Hotel is located walking distance to almost all the sites we wanted to visit. Metro station is just steps away making public transport incredibly easy. Plenty of options for dining and shopping and a supermarket nearby. Hotel was clean and staff helpful.

The situation is excellent, the room is big with a window overlooking the Gran Via. Despite this it is relatively noise-free.
The décor and amenities are a little tired.
Staff were helpful and friendly.
Access to the hotel reception was not the easiest I have encountered.

Overall it was a very pleasant stay. The room was clean, comfortable, spacious with a little kitchenette and decent WiFi. It is centrally located and very close to public transportation but it is a bit busy and noisy. It didn’t bother us but be aware that it is on a very busy major road with a lot of car and people traffic and across from a major park with a lot of street vendors and musical events. The only issue we encountered was with breakfast which could use some improvement. On 2 of our 4 days there, they ran out of items, even coffee, mid way through the breakfast hours. We were told they had a large group earlier. We didn’t stay long enough to see if they replenished but I hope they plan better for the amount of guests they have.

Close to two metro stops to get into the centre as well as out to the airport. Comfy beds, helpful staff, able to leave luggage, a few toiletries for use plus hairdryer. Didn't use the restaurant so can't comment, overall a good base for Madrid for a couple of nights, would recommend. Well priced as well.

Espahotel is central to all the hustle and bustle of madrid. The rooms are extremely comfortable albeit a little dated. The rooms are cleaned to s high standard, however, paint touch ups and grout renewal would improve the overall look. Surprisingly much of the noise of the gran via can't be heard in your room. The most disappointing thing about the hotel is the attitude of the staff in the breakfast room. They are rude and unhelpful. It seems as if they don't want to be there and if you ask them anything you receive a curt response, unusually in Spanish. The buffet breakfast is poor quality and I would recommend eating out! The reception staff are often busy and a better system is needed for dropping off and collecting of key. I would like to commend Ana on her level of customer service. She went above and beyond her duties. If the other staff took a leaf out of her book the hotel would be a much nicer place to stay!

The hotel is really well located - only ten minutes from the Royal Palace and some really central plazas. We really enjoyed having an apartment style room so that we could save a bit of cash by buying bigger bottles of water and keeping them in the fridge and having some grub ready for a quick breakfast before heading out for the day to explore.
The only negative of the room was that the spare duvet was a little stained but this was minor considering everything else - we even had a view of the Cathedral and Royal Palace from our room!
We'd definitely stay if we come back to Madrid (which was are hoping to do at some point as we fell in love with the city!)

The hotel is in a very central, but expensive, part of the city. The room itself was fine although decor is very dated. We were pleasantly surprised to find a small kitchen area in the room with a fridge, microwave, sink and hob (no kettle though!). The room was very clean apart from a slightly smelly fridge. The air con was very good once we figured out that we needed to close the inner door to stop it sucking the cold air straight back out. Shower was very powerful and the bed was comfy. The staff were friendly enough and helpful when we asked them if they could help with printing boarding passes. Overall, our stay was good but would maybe look to stay in the medieval district next time.

Great location. Convenient room with many features to make your stay easier, like drawers, benches, hooks in bathroom, relatively big fridge. Kitchenette is OK, but without coffee maker. Our room was on the 8th floor with view on Palace Real, a little bit noisy at midnight. Beware of some (all) rooms on the 9th floor: they have only roof windows and it was terribly hot inside even in April morning. We requested to changed the room and it was done almost immediately. When we asked for late check out, they were honest, not hiding after usual \"we are overbooked\", just said you can hold the room till 18:00 but pay 30 Euros.

The trip was amazing, we will definitely be back to Madrid in the near future..
The hotel was in the city centre and was 2min walking distance to the nearest metro, which was easy to use for travelling about the city.
The hotel was very nice and had the best staff I have every come across, nothing was a problem to them...
The only thing about the hotel that had a negative for me was the hotel asked how many beds we wanted and we paid for three which was on one of the pictures, which I think is decefing as we were given a room with two beds and a pop up bed which wasn't the best ...

The hotel is perfectly placed to provide a base for all the major attractions in Madrid. In 4 days we did not have to use a taxi or public transport to do everything we had planned (art galleries, museums, the palace and cathedral). Plenty of restaurants within easy walking distance too.
The hotel was clean and comfortable, and provided everything we expected.
The kitchenette facilities are quite basic - enough for a continental breakfast, or afternoon tea, but not sufficient for a cooked meal. This was just what we needed. It is worth noting that there were very few food shops (that we found) near the hotel; it was not easy to find anywhere to buy even the basics, such as coffee or milk.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. The AC in the room they gave me did not work - they were very helpful and prompt with their service with this matter and changed my room quite quickly. The Wifi also worked very well for a hotel in Madrid, which was very refreshing because hotels in Madrid don't usually have good wifi. The breakfast was also quite delectable. Overall, a very nice experience at Espahotel and I would recommend to anyone. Good Job!

First night was given a room without air conditioning and it was 98 degrees but was quickly changed when I complained and remainder of the stay was great. Breakfast was good and plentiful. This hotel was in a good location, about 10 minute walk to the heart of madrid. Hotel was abit old and pillows uncomfortable, however it was very clean and good size apartment. Good breakfast. Hotel staff could have been abit more friendly.

Great location for the first time visitor

As a first-time visitor to Madrid, Espahotel Gran Via was a great location. It's across the street from the Plaza de Espana metro station which means inexpensive and direct access from the airport. Since it's just half a block from Plaza de Espana and right on Gran Via, it's easy to find your way back after time spent exploring. The staff was very helpful and patient with us linguistically challenged English-speakers. I'd stay here on any return trip.

Great location in centre of Madrid. Staff were really helpful and room was clean and spacious. Breakfast was ok with a good selection for most tastes. Always fresh and tasty.
